Well after doing two GR.2 races on Suzuka, I was able to get my SR from C (Thanks Monza!) all the way back up to S. Did a qualifying lap, and the first race, I qualified P2, and managed to win it, after the first place guy messed up exiting turn 2, on the first lap. Managed to hold a gap throughout the race.

Race two, I started third, and I was along side second place guy on the outside of turn 1 and 2, which set me up nicely for turn 3. First place guy messed up on Turn 8 and 9, and I was able to take the lead and win.

Both races I did mess up going into that final chicane, before start/finish. Braked a little to late, with lack of concentration, and ending up cutting it a little, resulting in a 2.2 second penalty. Fortunately both times I had a 6-10 second gap to second place at those times. Now I'm at 9 wins total.

My SR got Monza'd today!

I'm still recovering. :boggled:

Wow, Race A @ Tsukuba with the Ferrari 512 BB, great combo for me :)

Woah, an actual sports car in race A? I cant remember when we had this the last time :D

Btw, I miss the days when people actually posted the dailies here, instead of a link to another page :)

Top 10 in the Ferrari on my first try!

I love Race C, but I can't drive 4WDs for life of me :boggled: my slow time there from when I was sick isn't really encouraging me either

Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes!!!!

A very nice race for me today. Interlagos Gr4.
Guess I'm still improving, guess I still haven't reached the end of my talent ;-) I managed to squeeze out a 1:39:622, an improvement of over 3 seconds on my previous record. More important I managed to practice while short shifting back to back low 1:40s. The time gave me P5 on the starting grid, top 5 slowly pulled away from the pack and after about 5 laps I had a gap behind me of around 7 seconds while being within 4 seconds of the leader, still in 5th place. by lap 9 the top 4 had already pitted and I was in the lead, at the end of lap 9 I needed to get some fuel, on pit exit I had a small lead on the number 2 (pole position driver) of a little under 2 seconds. My guess is he was on new tires, because in the final lap he managed to pull alongside me and pass me on the outside of turn 6 right, we were almost side by side during T7 and 8, him having a slightly better exit on T8. I kept my cool and set my mind on finishing the race, I finished .9 of a second behind him.

Finaly, I know now I can be competitive in a pack of B - S drivers and might even be able to pull out a win someday with the Ferrari. It took a couple of weeks to adapt to driving the Ferrari without TCS but it definitely paid off since now I'm faster then when driving with TCS on.
Thanks to all you guys for giving me the short shift explanation, this main contributor to this 2nd place finish was short shifting for fuel and tire management, I think the tires could last at least another 11 lap race. Previously while racing with TCS on I needed to change tires during a race like this.

Guess I'll still be with Ferrari the next Manufacturers series.

No more for me thanks.

That was the most stupidest.. Yep, I typed stupidest... race ever.
7 out of 10 cars barrelled into me. I guess the other three were too far to get a shot at me.
No penalties handed out for the contacts. So, I got aggressive. No penalties for me. I just kept the vehicle controlled from the start. These jumbos are fishtailing from start to finish.
Shame, because it seems like a fun race to be patient and smooth. Just crazy.

Oh.. And check the car number. It's gotta be rigged.

Scary :nervous:
I guess I'll save the racing for later...

EU is alien heaven

Thought I'd just edit this post since they're all trivial comments and replies :)

#6 again! Fantastic race!

The little 86 gets smoked during acceleration an top speed, but is consistent whole race. TCS 3, pitted on lap 9, tyres barely worn, jumped to first out of the pits and got caught by 1st(Megane RS) & 2nd (STI) before the left hander.

Managed to hang with them FOR my out lap. The STI was able to motor past the Megane and I just stayed on him as much as I could in the Infield. Was only able to gap me over a second until the end. But he was wearing the penalty.

Be warned race C is a megane trophy fest due to the fact its easy on tyres and you can get to the end in under 1 tank. Its slower, but the pit stop there takes a long time.

I should also add I entered it into a race without driving it and proceeded to spin at the first corner. The evo can get on the power much earlier. Came back to 6th or 7th from almost last. Also won 2.

My/Anyone's 86 can beat the Megane(and pretty much any of the cars) on strategy. I'm going to try pitting on lap 1. I can make it to lap 9 and not change tyres. If I pit early(cars are pitting from lap 5 & 6), I take on less fuel and just drive without traffic, to the end.

That sounds a bit boring! It's a race not a commute :)

Anything but. Almost worked. Just being punted from 6th and getting served two consecutive penalties, making things worse, are what I have to manage.

I'm going to try that today! I'll let you know how it goes

Monza Monza Monza! The slayer of SR! The destroyer of hopes and dreams of glorious battle! The pit of.... oh wait, wrong movie... So, I went in with my fluffy bunny slippers and my 651 Asia position got me P6/16 on a grid of my peers. There must be a larger pool of C/S with high SR because I definitely see a trend of better matching when my SR is 99. The gap between P7, P6 and P6 was hundredths of a second.

Race starts and everyone was hell bent on the holeshot to T1. The guy behind me came screaming up beside me, so I backed off a hair and let him have first crack at the chicane. I coasted my way through, wedged between other cars who drove me out of the chicane. I think they must have eased off the penalties for T1. I heard a lot of banging and crashing sounds that would suggest mangled metal and splintered carbon, but I don't think I saw any penalties. I guess for T1, rubbing is racin :dopey:!

From there it was just hanging in and hoping I didn't screw up the chicanes. Again I think they must have eased up the track limit penalties because a couple of times I thought I was going to get one, based on previous races, and none were forthcoming :scared:. Had a guy in a roach of some description come hurtling past me on the outside, I assume from a better exit out of the third chicane. I had the inside for the final corner, he was beside me and slightly in front just before the turn, so I braked lightly so he could go around. He didn't brake at all and went fanging across the sand and slammed into the wall . No other dramas to speak of. I was about a second behind the guy in front when I crossed the line, but they were flashing red. And the finish?

Woot! SR can't go up, DR up some more. With DR past the half way mark between C and B I'm guessing DR will be coming down soon as I will be matched with DR/B and C soon :nervous:.

Nice description of the battle!

I m curious.. how and where do you find your ranking position on classifying races??

If you can only make it to lap 9, you're not beating the Megane Trophy 11s.

They dont need to pit and can maintain decent enough pace short shifting through the 11 laps. Just let the speedsters by, overtake them again after their tyres fall to bits and they pit. Almost a sunday drive with the good job PD did on the scenery.

If you log into the GT Sport web site https://www.gran-turismo.com/au/products/gtsport/ and click on Sport Mode, you will get the Sport mode page. If you select calender, it will show the daily races. click on the daily you have a qualifying time for and you should come across a list of the top 100 times. If you select more you will get the next 100 and so on.

Thanks!!!! :) I did not know that!!!

It´s a pity that it can´t show previous races.. :( This way I cant´revive a memorable (for me) moment!!!!

Yesterday night here in Europe, but morning in ASIA, in Race A (the one with the little thing called Fiat) I got 2nd best time in ASIA, with my Asian account!!! And I have no proof of it! :( :( :(

Funny is that using the link for Future/past races shared on the you know which thread... I can find the list form yesterday ´s race (that is a link from GB/Gtourismo... on HK/Gtourismo link (my profile is listed as in Hong Kong) the ranking list does nt apears...

At least now I got to know that my European Mark (less good) was 48th in Europe :)

I have beat them(when I don't get punted off) in the previous post with 2nd place. They have no top end and I'm matching them for pace in the Infield.

I'm doing my third race pitting early. This time, fuel to 2. I pit on lap one. 8.7 laps remaining. Set fuel to 5 while exiting the pits. Computer recalibrated to 0.0.
When I leave the pits I'm at 9.7laps on lap 2. I'm keeping pace except on the straights. Everyone pits, I'm moving up.

Again, if I don't get hit and of course starting position, I'm on the podium. I'm having fun with it. It ain't all roses. Pitting early and racing with the peanut gallery in 18th, is frustrating. Some are cruising. Some are blocking. Some are busy punting people off.

I got turned around by a PINK Viper past the final corner. There's all this room on his/her left and he/she is on my left rear corner. Next, I'm SKIDDING, facing the wall with 4 Laps to go and red tip front tyres. He/she gets no RED DOT at the finish line.

If its working for you, and its fun, keep on doing it.

No red dot? The lag is real.
