the trophy needs few hundred pounds added to it's weight for bop

I'm not a great driver, but I am just under 2/10ths slower in the Alfa 4C at Gardens than in the Megane. I'm sure its because I feel totally at home with the Alfa.

I'm trying to figure out the magic behind the matchmaking for Daily Races.

On the subject of the thread, I had a race today at Race B, N300 at Suzuka, with a nigh impossible recovery. A player behind me punted me off right on Turn 1

I think it's driver rating first, then sportsmanship.

I've been switching back and forth between 2 accounts. The drivers I meet with my rating at B are a heck of a lot cleaner than the ones I see on my primary account with my rating at A. Well, I'm not exactly at A yet, I'm like, 700 points away and I've been mired there for 4 days whilst my SR keeps plummeting. I think the A drivers are trying too hard. After getting pole at Suzuka tonight with the primary acct., I think 2nd and 3rd place ( both DR A ) were upset a B driver beat them and took care of me in the esses.

Except it raced in the GT4 class at the N24.

Makes more sense to complain about GTE in Gr.3, and Group C in Gr.1 than it does to complain about the Megane Trophy in Gr.4.
exept if you saw i did complain about all of these & there's not a GT4 class at the N24 neither the car fallows the GT4 regulations

D'oh! Ran out of fuel on last lap at pit entrance.

I think there is more tyre wear and fuel usage, when following in the pack. Started 16 of 17. All cars were nose to tail for about 4 laps. A few passes, one or two cars facing the wrong way, but no major dramas.

So weird. I was even shifting before yellow lights. Following an 86, M4 and 458, around lap 5/6, I'm sliding and braking is getting longer. I definitely couldn't late brake, as in my previous races, running long in clean air.

Had to dial fuel back to 4 before I pitted. Just grabbed tyres and emerged around 9th. With 2 laps of fuel 2 laps to go, I dialed Fuel to 2 and pressed on. Still with the 86 behind and a Citroen catching up. I was passed on the last lap and dialed full power. An M4 was in my tail and tried to draft cars ahead. By the time we get to the four brothers right-handers, I was at 0.2laps. Dialed 4, then 6 and eased off. M4 passed me at the exit iv the final turn.
Just ran out and coasted to the finish falling to 14th.

Again, a weird one.

You have that the wrong way around, it's definitely SR first then DR. It's not just by SR letter, it's by a numerical range, starting at 90 to 99 first. Sometimes the range is bigger than 10 points when there aren't enough people at the smaller range hence sometimes you can get high SR.B mixed with low SR.S (60 to 85 for example) although you usually only see mixed SR when you're rating is near a boundary.

DR is all over the place A+/S to D/S happens frequently. Matchmaking insists on matching as small an SR spread as possible first and only widens it if it can't fill the room. I also have the suspicion that matchmaking favors bigger spreads in qualifying times to maybe make cleaner races? Even when I get down to SR.B the game still puts rooms together of DR.A to DR.D while I'm pretty sure it should be possible to make a full DR.B room. Also when I was playing with a friend we sometimes ended up in different rooms while it would have made more sense to put us together as we were a lot more evenly matched than the spread in the rooms we both got in.

To get matched with more players of similar DR you''ll need to play when most people are playing and choose the most popular race of the day. However DR rankings are pretty scrambled nowadays so you might still get matched with much faster players of similar DR.

If you want to practice overtaking, don't qualify ;) I just qualified again for a few more races and I'm back in the parade.

I wasn't going to race today, instead I raced a lot. I took the opportunity to clean out my garage of doubles and spend all of my long time maxed out mileage points on getting as many cars qualified as N300. Then I ended up 'only' driving all the pre 1980 ones. Tons of fun to drive, although terrible for DR, all without qualifying ofcourse.

Toyota 2000 GT '67 So slow
Alpine A110 1600S '72 Hitting the rev limiter, no good
Dodge Challenger R/T '70 Hitting the rev limiter, no good
Lamborghini Countach LP400 '74 Fun but slippery
Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible (C3) '69 Very nice drive, not fast
Lamborghini Miura Bertone Prototype CN.0706 '67 Great drive, about the same as the Stingray
Ferrari 512 BB '76 A bit faster, also harder to keep on the road
Ford Mustang Mach 1 '71 Would be more competitive if it didn't hit the rev limiter on all the straights, fast in corners
De Tomaso Pantera '71 Very fun to drive, top 3 with Corvette and Lamborghini

And then there is one that feels like it's on race hard tires and can keep up with the X-Bows and S-FRs
y3Pc.jpg

I qualified for my last couple races, 2:28.182 and managed to get 3rd again (started 5th) in my last race with a 2:28.028 best lap. The GT40 is very competitive in this race. Anything that's not an X-Bow or S-FR is easily left behind.

I also did 2 DT Gardens races in between with the Viper and 458 Italia. I started a 3rd race then quit in lap 10 to sign up for Suzuka before the entry would close. DT gardens was kinda boring.

Great day for the vintage GT experience. Too bad a couple other oldies either couldn't be tuned high enough or are stuck in GR.X. Oh and that Raptor truck on the track is very intimidating, looks like a monster truck next to these little oldies.

I'll enjoy this brief moment.

Starting 6th right now. Haven't used this layout, since the last time this was a Daily.

Edit: Wasn't bad. Not thrilling either. Everyone played nice. I think penalties might be due to too much curb somewhere.

the trophy needs few hundred pounds added to it's weight for bop, or better yet put it in gr3 where it belongs. Even on tracks with big straights, it's still super strong.
DEFINITELY ! It’s not anymore GR4 but Megane Trophy Cup

The Trophy still, isn't all that. In Race B, I'm catching it and passing on the straight. The Infield, it's not flash either. It's only good with consecutive corners with not much hills.

The car probably has too much aero. Plus, it has the second least hp/tq figures. Yeah, lightweight is fine, but it falls into that 4C/Lotus area of not being an all-rounder.

Gr1 at Brands Hatch today. It’s a shame that I don’t have time to race. I would love to see how this goes.

First time ever for this combination I think...
Don’t really know what to expect, maybe Mazda VGT coming back on top with the insane traction?
Surely what you can expect is first lap carnage tho :nervous:

Well I am going to try Race C today for my sins as I'm not really fancing Suzuka East since I always do that track so it's either Race
C or Race B but not a huge fan of BMB Infield A so I will see what I do after work and hopefully improve my DR/SR as it took a huge
whack yesterday in the FIA Races.

Any initital tips for best car for Brands, am guessing either the Mazda VGT or the Porsche?

Well, at Brands the other day I beat my 4C laptime (my only ever laptime to last on a top 10 leaderboard for a full day) in 4 Laps with the Trophy. Didn’t really have time to go in hotlap session mode but the top laps there were 1 second faster than the 4C top times that dominated a month ago, and I myself definitely had at least 4/5 tenses up my sleeve if I tried long enough.

Surely, in high speed sections like today’s oval part it’s definitely not a problem at all, the Veyrons would smoke past it. But give it 3/4 corners and it will be right in front of you again. If they could put more weight on it, so that it becomes a bit bulkier to throw around corners, it will probably become balanced.

Still a stupid choice to put it in Gr.4 if you have to nerf it that much though. It’s already at something like 87% HP and 125% weight and it is still too fast

For sure. It's a stable car for people to feel confident in as well. However, it's all over the top 10 in Asia/Oceania, but a Genesis is numero uno.

Current race, people are just joining the bandwagon.

Had a good mix of competitors this evening. Battles with this Huracan in the race before and again from P1&P2.
Starts @1:32

First race up and already things aren't looking good for me. Tried a few cars and got my best time with the rexy. P3. Was happy with that and looking forward to a good race. yeh, right 👎.

Race starts and the two in front are painfully slow on the first corner. Then I get rear ended but keep it on the track, till I was rear ended again in the hair pin and knocked into another car, then off the track. Orange SR for me :grumpy:. Tumbled down the field and then had to deal with the lower mid field. I just couldn't get a clear run through the corners because everyone seemed to be taking weird lines that ended in really slow exits and me with no where to go. I got caught up in the pack and banged about resulting in another orange SR. By the time the race finished I had a 6s penalty and dropped to P9.

SR dropped from 98 to 87 and DR dropped by 230.

I felt a bit gypped finishing so badly from a good starting position, so Like an idiot :dunce:, I went again. This time I started in P6. Bit disappointing from P3, but there was more DR/Bs.

I got a better start, and didn't have the same problem of getting rammed, but I managed to mess up one corner which dropped me back a few. Picked myself up and tried to salvage things. I had a P7 finish in my sights but didn't do so well on the final corner and got passed by one of the few Meganes in the race. P8 with no penalties.

SR up to 90, clawed back about 80 DR. Still debating the wisdom of doing race C. DR/C for one more race :scared:.

Race B is become one make again, in my last race the Megane Trophy 11 on pole qualified 2.5 seconds ahead of my time in the NSX? This car must have its BOP adjusted NOW. Its spoiling group 4 at the moment, has anyone won using anything else in Europe this afternoon?

Edit: 4th Race C so far and there is a 4C on pole this time, perhaps most are just using the Megane 11 because it Meta so invariably you end up with one on pole as its the most used car?

Did one race C today to restore some SR. Didn't spend much time qualifying, 1:11.5. Figured two things since I was A+/A the field wouldn't be that tough and I was planning a "sunday drive" so to speak to pick up SR. I'd planned to just let people past if necessary.

Started 2nd, mostly full lobby. Followed P1 (A/A) around for a few laps until they went wide and off. My race was over after that and I just drove around collecting SR.

A few laps after the pit stop I noticed something weird, I was about to lap P9. Funny thing was, I didn't notice going past P19 through to P10. Because I hadn't since over half the entrants had quit during the race and were showing as DNF at the finish. Why did so many players quit this race? And, why bother entering if you're just going to quit if you make a mistake?

I also gained SR S back in once race.

100% agree, it's getting ridiculous. Through corners they are all over me, i catch them on the straights but they eat me alive in corners. This was at Gardens last night.

I'd race a bit more today, but with the way it's been raining and thundering here in CT, you'd swear I'd live in the tropics. (That, or someone let their Zapdos out of its Pokeball.) And I'm not feeling particularly ballsy enough today to risk losing power while playing.

You can just do Quali laps with the Trophy and then use something else for the race, if you choose so.

But I agree with most, the Megane Trophy needs a fix ASAP! I dont race Gr.4 anymore, simply because its an annoying one-make with people latebraking in that stupid OP car.

Wow, my theory that some of the worst players are in B/S is really true..

Just had incredible race C, started 5th, got rammed, t-boned(usually at t2), brake-checked, blocked on straights..
Every. Single. Lap.
I would get down to last, then cruise back to 2-5, just to get shot off on first chance of actually someone getting close.
Had this happen like 10 laps in a row. People drive like potatoes, but they get away with it anyway.
One guy brake checks me twice on straight before last turn, then he brake checks me to full STOP in pit entry. Who does that really??
Lost 500dr and 7Sr.
The worst ones that led the apocalypse? Rewarded with blue S at the end.:banghead:
