I did Daily C with no qualifying. Started 17, ended 7th
The Tomahawk is really good on the brakes and corners, much like the Trophy. I just need 3 races or so to sort out just where I can safely lunge forward, since I can't create an overlap at the Mulsanne Chicanes

If I can earn enough money I'll try the L750R Hybrid

Fastest guy in my race this morning was driving the Audi R18 TDI '16 (3:20.2), with the 2nd fastest in the Peugeot 908HDi FAP '10.

I tried the Toyota TS050 Hybrid '16 and managed to climb the grid from 10th to 3rd, with its good fuel economy and the lack of penalties I picked up next to others. Not sure where it is on pace though as my quali was only a 3:26.3, but not sure how much faster I can go with practice.

Heheh, so I did another no-quali run. Not as good as I hoped it would be, and eventually accumulated 14 seconds worth of penalties. I was running the fastest sectors by the final lap though, and so I didn't serve my penalties at all. Dropped a position from 6th to 7th because of the 14 second penalty, but I set an FL of 3:25.524. Worth

I should grind my SR back up to S though. La Sarthe is really bad for aggressive driving ^w^"

Well there are days I hate myself and GT Sport and this is one of them as the draw of La Sarthe will mean I might try and knock in a
few quick races after work.

I don't know why it is but I just love the challenge of La Sarthe online against other players and cannot resist it when it comes up.

Hopefully my current time 3:28 with the Mazda VGT won't put me too far down the order but room for improvement possibly either with the 919
or the Mazda I suspect.

Noone posts the dailies here anymore!? :(
That was the main reason I logged in here...

Well, guess I'll do it one more time for you guys :sly:

Race A: Lago Maggiore west - 4 laps - N400 (Guess the X-bow again)
Race B: BB Raceway - 15laps - Gr.3
Race C: La Sarthe - 5 laps - Gr.1

Good luck guys! Race B and C look like SR killers :scared:

The main reason for no updates in the thread is due to previous comments and the Kudos Prime website now having a feature for checking the daily races so most people are checking through that website.

Yes Race A is the Xbow again.

I know there are several sites now to check them.
But it always was nicer to see them right here, where the actual discussion takes place :gtpflag:

The GTS Companion App does a nice job too

Looking forward to today's Gr1 race at Le Mans.

I would really like to see a Gr1 race at Suzuka next week. Its always been a favorite event of mine and unfortunately it very rarely comes up as an event.

The last time I raced there was phenomenally fun. You have to be nearly perfect every lap or you'll have an off. The last time I won there was simply because the leader couldn't keep it on the track!

Even when I wasn't finishing well there, I was still having a lot of fun. Tough, but fun!

Race C :
big challenge
I'm looking forward to the race today and with a bit of luck in the new victory
good luck to all and a hundred less SR orange

Today’s Gr.1 race at Circuit de la Sarthe are pretty nice :)

Well, I did a few practice laps for Race C just to see if it was worthwhile for me to enter later for the midnight run or the next race after that. I got within 10s of the top 10 at the time, and 2s behind @xxxman1 time at the time. So I figured I'll give it a shot. In the mean time I figured I'd give BB a go. I usually do ok there. Not this time. I didn't try different cars this time, I jumped strait in with the Viper. I qualified P13/16. Not my best effort:crazy:.

I was struggling to pull the big lump up for turn 1 and during the race it was handling differently, so it took a while to adjust. 9s penalty from scraping the wall twice. I crossed P10 with that 9s penalty, but somehow managed to maintain it. :scared:

SR still 99, lost 300 DR, but still in hanging in there on my visit to DR/C :dopey:.

Really? Damn, TIL the US is separates by as much as 3 hours  my dad told me that in general, my time here is also your time, except on the other half of the clock (It's 9:12 pm as I post this, so on some Americans' time like TheGeologist, it's 9:12 am on his side)

It is quite fun indeed! :D I should do this more often. The Tomahawk is such I big sleeper car I love it :) excuse me now I'll try to find an anime livery for it (not sure what to put there though. Its diced up body might not do justice to any anime waifu one might put there)

Haha welcome to unqualified fun racing! Who the heck is racing though in the US this early? It's only 6 AM west coast!

I have a lot to do today, won't be joining the fun until much later, in the R92CP. I'll start without qualifying as you can't erase your time later.
Perhaps our paths will cross later this evening as I'm on the East Coast and at work right now.

BTW, does anyone think the X-Bow drives differently in the race compared to how it drives in Qualifying?

I was doing really well with qualifying laps at Willow Springs last night with it, yet when the race started, it was like I was driving a totally different car and suddenly I couldn't keep it on the tracks.

I wasn't aware you were so far ahead.

But yeah the US has crazy time zones. I believe Hawaii is like 5 hours behind (for obvious reasons)

Parts of my state (western Indiana) are an hour behind me

Haha welcome to unqualified fun racing!

One day soon I'm going to do this I think, I can use my old GTP account for it. 💡

See how good the lower rated drivers are and see how high I can rank starting from the back all the time. I'm not mad though, I'll only do it on Race C's (mainly good combos too) and will get some practice in on my main account first. Doing this I can also practice fuel saving, as you'll have to do that to make good progress I would assume, what with all the cars to pass. I'll also have to be very careful too, especially until I get to the better rooms, I don't want to be ruining anyone's race by accidently bumping them because I'm actually a good few seconds a lap quicker.

Of course I'll have to get a bit of money first for the cars, completing all the circuit challenges and stuff should help and I'll sign for Renault (even though I won't race the FIA stuff) as that'll give me two good cars for a start.

I get the feeling these daily races is like that scene in the first f&f where Brian asks "how's the tuna today?". Daily races are like that IMO. Bad today, bad tomorrow, been bad for last 3 weeks. But still keeps you coming back.

5 races at Maggiorre last night, the one time i switched cars for fun and picked the horrible Citreon i qualified P2 and would have won, other 4 races i was paired with very fast drivers, not sure why the system had me paired with guys that were 2 seconds lap faster than i was.

In saying that i can seem to race mid pack despite my last or second last qualy but dear me last night, I had one race where EVERY driver was an idiot. never happened before but it was chronic, constantly being pushed off the road intentionally.

Guys we need to talk about track limits at Le Mans.... I actually think they've gotten worse since the last update came out. PD are ruining a legendary track such as Le Mans with BS track limit penalties :banghead: Luckily Monza isn't in one of the dailies today, cos if it was then say goodbye to a healthy and clean-fought SR score.

This is a brilliant game for those of us that like racing (as opposed to driving so to speak) but it is in dire need of more real tracks, and good ones. Add Road America, Oulton Park, Spa, Imola and Donnington to this game and suddenly we have so much more room for excellent daily races.

Being a D/S driver, I'm very much used to being paired with drivers who are out of my league, although I'm not sure if this is a Asian (Asia+Oceania) server thing. I would have the full range of A/S to even A+/S drivers racing with up to half or more of the pack being D/S drivers. I should also clarify I'm not a particularly fast driver, on a good day, I'm setting lap times 5 seconds behind the #1 qualifying time, on a bad day (unfamiliar car + unfamiliar track combo) I can be up to 10+ seconds.

I'm also not sure if it is because of this, I'm not as fazed and I'm not as scared about being not a top DR driver. I've had D/S drivers who race very respectfully and clean, to ones which make you so mad that you're just trying to hold it together till the end of the race. I also did a lot of unqualified racing when I first started Sport mode. While it might not be normal to some, to me it at least had the effect of showcasing how my skill level paired up to other people.

It was only yesterday when I did a good personal best, and then I struggled with the fast drivers, because I was at the limit of my current ability, and not able to go any faster than my PB.

I agree with you, although I have yet to race it after the penalty updates... But having watched enough of F4H_Super_GT on youtube's videos, I'm extra cautious there

I hadn't driven at Le Mans before today, and eventually I gave up trying to avoid getting penalties because it was quicker driving normally then slowing down. I've no idea what the cut off points on some corners were.

Yeah i agree, I usually race with slow B and fast C drivers but last night was up against a few A drivers who just walked away.

It's not even worth being extra cautious as you'll still somehow accumulate 2-3 seconds worth of track limit penalties for running even slightly wide or cut even the slightest of kerbs.

I don't get too upset about it, although this might just be me. This is more or less stemmed from me having done track days in my daily driver. Basically, an Automatic fully stock base model Mazda 3 hatchback against stuff such as Megan RSs, Evos, GT86s, even a Porsche Cayman on wet track day (he moved up to a faster group on the next track day). So I guess from that, I have a lot of patience and less worry about not able to catch up to people in P1.
I also like to think I'm racing my own race - helps me concentrate better, and like the 1995 Mclaren Le Man documentary, "...driving the car, concentrating on your line.... if there's a car in front of you don't chase it, if it's in front of you cause it's too slow, then fine overtake it..." Your qualifying time in a sense shows the relative distance from you to the guy at the top. If it's a close gap, you will get them, you don't have to force it. DR is also accumulated and is a long journey to the top. So I don't get too disheartened if I'm not on the podium.

When I look at times, I more or less think of it as the relative difference I am to them. Everyone has different skill sets as well as cars - even in GT Sport's BOP setting. It's not that easy to compare, lots of overall variables. This is why I think the Asia Server gives off a different experience. Like in Europe/America, you might get matched up with people all in the same DR/SR and all using the Megane Trophy as an example. Granted, i'm a D/S driver, but I have yet to see something as crazy as that.

Guys we need to talk about track limits at Le Mans.... I actually think they've gotten worse since the last update came out.

The track limits haven't gotten any worse. To me they seem just as bad as they were when the track was introduced. I did find that the penalties seemed less to me. Sometimes 0.4s instead of 4s for example.

Well Race C for me, I was going to go with the bat mobile (Bugatti), but ended up doing the race with the Dodge. For some reason the second time round the Bugatti didn't seem to handle as well. The Dodge seemed to turn better for me on the slow corners. I qualified P4. The grid was Cs and Ds with a few DR/Bs .

I was realy hoping for a clean race bonus, but with track limits so tight that wasn't going to happen. I got shunted on the first chicane and nearly ended up in the sand. Every lap I'd pick up small penalties which would bleed off during the course of racing. I was up in p3 at one stage, but I got dive bombed by something in the first chicane on Mulsanne, then I got mugged by a couple of Mazdas.

There was another Aussie in my race, LEO-FORD-GT. I tried to give him room but struggled, and twice he outbraked me at the chicanes on Mulsanne and I shunted him. He disappeared before I could apologise :O.

I pitted lap 3 with no tyre change (I wasn't really feeling much tyre degradation). Came out P4 I think. Got mugged again and crossed P5, but picked up a 1s penalty on the Porsche curves and finished P6. The Dodge was definitely easier to deal with than the R92CP! There was a couple of Sauber's on the grid, which was bold.

SR dropped to 96, DR up by about 600. Another day visiting DR/C :dopey:.
