First of all it's not an xp system, it goes up and down depending on how you finish compared to who else entered the race.
DR.D goes from 1 to 3,999
DR.C 4,000 to 9,999
DR.B 10,000 to 29,999
DR.A 30,000 to 49,999
DR.A+ 50,000 to 75,000
For every driver you beat you gain 80 points for every driver you finish behind you lose 80 points.
However the points you gain and lose are adjusted based on the difference in DR between you and the other driver.
If the winning driver has lower DR he gets more points 80 + (DR difference / 500) with a max of 160
If the winning driver has higher DR he get less points 80 - (DR difference / 500) with a min of 1
You exchange points this way with every other driver that started the race.
Disconnecting before the race is over (before it says results confirmed) counts as losing to everyone else.
Keep finishing in the top half and it should go up!
Thank You, this explains a lot. Also answers my question from the other night if it's a cumulative thing, which apparently it isn't.
Based on the math, looks like I'll be stuck in D for quite sometime, as I simply don't have the time to race enough to get over that hump to get to C.
I'm fine with that. Point of the game is to have fun. I'm not looking to do this to get a racing contract.
My only issue with the matching in these races is D rated racers racing against A and yes, even A+ drivers.
Well, I watch a bit of Virgin Australia Supercars. Many times, when cars are cornering, the driver behind gives a nudge ever so slightly on the rear corner of the car ahead. This unsettles the car just enough to allow thd driverf behind to get along side.
Other times, a driver out brakes an opponent and they rub panels front entry to exit of a corner.
In this game, a tap is equivalent to a ping pong slam. Many players know this. I try to read the player ahead and behind. When the race isn't frantic, I pick a line and hold it. This allows both of us to brake unimpeded and it leaves out the guess work fob the player behind. Countless times, this has not been the case. The driver behind still punts me, either by misjudging bumper distancev or out braking theirself.
Just watched six of my replays at Mr Miyagi. I see Trophy drivers are too aggressive. Megane RS drivers think the top end earns then the right to pass. STI drivers think awd means they can go full speed into corners and turn. Any other type car, races fair. Just kidding... but it's true.
Seriously, for me, I read the players. If I'm getting sneaky bumps when I've left plenty of room, I give it back. When I make mistakes, I back off. No doubt I had the same thoughts to be aggressive right after a few races. What I've done is put the controller down, watch some replays and then, get back in and start fresh.
Thanks. When I wrote that I was thinking that being dirty was the way to go, I was actually angry and just looking for a fight. I am so sick of being taken out of races by T1 because people use me as their brakes. They get to continue (Oh big woop, they get a penalty) meanwhile I'm stuck there, trying to go into reverse and get back on the track while causing more problems.
Very annoying.
