Deleted my Garage and just bought the cars that are in the first Gran Turismo. Having a bit of fun in GT League, to keep things fresh.
Gotta say, the tire model is really good. The Supra RZ, Evo IV and even the '69 Vette feel really good on the edge.

I had a Race C earlier where I was the highest qualified non-Ford. I was in a GT-R and started 9th, but I took it as an achievement.

Yesterday I managed to win against A/S Ford GTs in a Honda NSX. Boy, it was a pleasure. Hardest race for me though, because the GTs were super fast in the straights. They were gaining on me 0,6s every time.

Yep. Their only move is to try late braking up the inside, but a T1, I tighten my line. From there, I let the torque help me pull away.

Used the Mustang this time. Finished P3 beating out a TT and a couple Slophys. Was catching the two leading '11s on the last lap. 2 seconds behind.

Tried the Cayman. That gearing hurts the car so much. Handling is awesome, but a track like Maggiore works better. I'd bet St Croix would be way nice in the Cayman.

Yeah, I figure the Raptor.

I hope it's not the Raptor. Biggest car on one of the narrowest tracks with the lax penalty system, that's going to be a lot of bumping and SR loss. The raptor also doesn't care much about driving off road, the problem is when they suddenly veer back onto the track.

I'd enjoy the Raptor on Willow Springs, the inevitable ratings drops would give me a chance of being within ten seconds of the field. As it stands this week, currently B/S:

Race A: Qualify top 3, generally contend for wins
Race B: Last
Race C: Mid-pack and useless, generally miles away from everyone as the field spreads out

I know there are a lot more purists on here than usual but my ratings have gone up and stayed up this week. I'm not bad enough to get involved in shoving matches, and the lower penalty thresholds are negating that anyway. I've had clean races where there was contact and I spun out, or others did. As the week goes on I think people, certainly the more dedicated players, who're on multiple times will get better and the races will get cleaner.

The problem with races getting cleaner is that unless it's something as restrained as a car that never breaks 80mph on a mile long track that's mostly flat out, I'm never going to be involved in racing never mind winning.

Can anyone explain what the leader here was trying to do? Why did he brake so early. Was he playing with the pen system? No way he was carrying that much speed to brake so early. Please share your opinions.

Looks like he braked just before 150m which is pretty standard, I don't think he did a fat lot wrong there. It's a tough corner on the first lap the cars behind should be more cautious.

That guy (the leader) was a maniac at the last Brands GR4, fast but absolutely zero racecraft or patience, caused a fair few offs and mass crashes..

Kudos to whoever gave him a punt, give yourself a cookie 👍 👍

Wow what a pathetic session yesterday. I played for 4 hours last night and suffered soo much bad luck in both the Group 3 and 4 race. Dumb shenanigans at Sainte-Croix with idiots making idiotic moves, me struggling with fuel consumption, running out before the line, Ford GT's dominating and an unfortunate accident which led to me being punted. Even though he braked right in front of me going into one of the hairpins. I think my best finish was 8th before I tried the Group 4 race. Didn't fare much better. Choose the M4 first and started in a decent position. I got myself to second and lost it after losing my concentration going into Spoon. Very rare mistake from me. There was one race there when someone gave me a bump to make a pass, and then ran me off the road. Tried the Megane Trophy. Surprisingly, I couldn't do much better in it. I found it harder to drive than the M4...:scared:More stupid mistakes from me meant that I couldn't get a decent result. Finally in the last race I did yesterday, I won in the M4; after swapping controllers mid race. That was with an easier opposition though, but hey, a win after soo many unfortunate events made my day.

In the gr4 as painful as it is try the old megane it smokes the trophys at the start. You just have to keep it together through the s curves then its pretty sweet the rest of the lap. Picked up 3 w's this morning.

Yep. I've set TCS 0 and worked really well.

It's standard for a fast lap, not the first lap. I dunno if that was playing the penalty system or just him not knowing the braking point for the first lap.

Don't think braking point is that on 1st lap where you are not carrying that much speed. Also,he was pretty slow i think. Fuel 3 maybe.

Yup looked to me taking advantage of pen system.

With qualifying time of 3:27 he would surely know that.

Very sad fast guys resort to such behaviour.

458 all day long 👍
The ferrari is faster if you know how to use it.
Any MR car, perhaps? The Alfa is good too.

I really enjoyed the One Make at Suzuka (everyone was using the Megane yesterday), it was fun. I saw 15 megane in one race, it was hilarious.
The truth is, the Megane is so stable you can race it with a hand a drink a can of soda with the other one. Even braking hard the tyres don't give up easy. It's a pleasure to drive, and is very competitive.
I changed to the M4 and it was good too and a bit faster in the straights.

How much you guys filling fuel at the pit stop in Race C? I come in with 0.1 and leave with 2.2 in the Ford.

Where do you guys save fuel and how do you maintain tyres? I loose too much time in lap3 when tyres are not good.

Doing Race B, every time I see a Megane, I’m like, “you’re a 🤬, you’re a censored:, oh, a Mustang, you’re cool...you’re a 🤬, you’re a 🤬.” The hilarious bit is 99% of them suck, their braking is terrible, line is terrible, and racecraft is nonexistent. And most of their liveries are  :yuck:

I’ll gladly punt a Magane off and not feel bad about it. Those cars might as well have a “kick me” sticker on the back of them.

Absolutely reprehensible. I mean, how does your behaviour separate you from those very people you condemn? What i extrapolate from your post is that clearly PD is doing a good job by keeping you confined to that dirty racer pool.
Just a piece of unsolicited advice: stop taking out your frustration with balance on players who stick to the meta, the fault lies with PD and noone else.
Also you can win with any car in gr4, even a veyron on suzuka. Stop shifting blame and start improving.

Since the daily races are now weekly, I've been making lemonade and practicing in a car of my choosing to overthrow the meta. I've had all week to do it. In Race C, I realised that the key to choosing a fast enough challenger to the meta is in the top speed on the back straight. The GT tops out at 271 km/h (168mph), while the former meta, the Porsche, I'm only able to squeeze 265km/h (165mph) out of. The long-distance French circuit specialist, the Mustang, easily does 275km/h (171mph).

From my favourites, the NSX, the Lexus and the Hyundai were timed down the back straight at the same speed as the Porsche, while the Jaguar matched the GT's speed.

From these results, I think I'm going to choose the Jaguar as the low-risk option first, then if it fails to impress, get the Mustang out.

So according to this, today is the last day for the Saint-Croix Gr.3 race?

Yup.

Haven't played online this week, yesterday was the first day where I really played. Race C is something I've been avoiding because of the track and so on. Race B hasn't been that bad. F-Type or the Ferrari (haven't tried all the cars yet) can beat the Renaults. Especially on the straights there is such a difference that it's not even comparable.

Bottom half of grid at Race C has become a total 🤬 fest at A to A+/S level this weekend... :boggled:

How do you upload videos to youtube? I had an argument with someone and I'd like GTP to settle it.

you had an argument over how to upload videos?

The cheapest and easiest way is to use the PS4 Share feature to save videos, and then upload that video straight from capture gallery onto YouTube

Depending on what you wish to do, you might export the video and then edit that video on something like Premiere Pro, or use something more basic like PS4 Sharefactory.

Another option is to have a capture card which can offer more options and higher quality, and then upload that recording to YouTube.

No I mean an argument in the chat after a race. I've saved the replay and would like GTP's opinion on the incident.

You should be banned from GTS
Haaaaahahahahahaha. You wish bro, you wish. Just don’t drive a Magane around me, you’ll be fine :p

If PD wants to set the rules in a way that there is a rabbit car in each class, that’s PD’s decision.

If PD wants to set up the penalty system in a way that players can exploit it, running people off the road with no penalty, then it’s up to the players to learn how to game the system - there’s no unwritten code of honour in online racing lol. Just like any real sport, half the game is learning how to tiptoe around the rules.

So if someone wants to use the rabbit car, drive like a dunce, is slow, doesn’t make clean overtakes, defends their position dirty, and is just an overall nuecence on the track (and only has their quali time thanks to the rabbit car), like I said, I’ll punt the idiot off, take no penalty, and the myself and 5 other people can have a great race.

I love how in any video game, whenever someone learns how to game the system, the cry babies first response is, “they should ban him!!” Cowards lmao. Get gud, be faster than me, I won’t be able to punt you off (or don’t drive a Megane :p). Or lobby PD to change the penalty system.

I should be banned

You’re a meta humper, aren’t you :p? You clowns took my initial post way to seriously lol. It’s like I said I routenly go out and kick babies.

I never said I had issues with being in dirty lobbies, just that I notice a correlation between the Megane and crappy drivers. I’m not confined to any kind of dirty racing pool. Had the game for 2 weeks, went S in the first couple of days, DR up to B after a few dozen races. I also don’t have any issues using non-meta cars and doing well, my best race so far I’ve made up 10 positions with a Viper.

I’m not really blaming anyone. I’m just saying if someone wants to make a conscience choice to mask their poor driving with the rabbit car, I’ll race them differently, and won’t at all feel bad if the situation results in them exiting the circuit in one way or another.

I also never said I actively go around looking for Megane’s to punt off, just that if one did go off, I wouldn’t feel bad about it.
