I’ll race them differently, and won’t at all feel bad if the situation results in them exiting the circuit in one way or another.
Oh man, I would love to be in a race with you. Although I prefer not to use the meta cars, I'll defend anyone's right to drive whatever they want.

One of the greatest disappointments I've had in this game is when I get intentionally punted by a sociopath like you, and don't get to see them in the next race.

This ain't going to end well. Anticipating the blaze of glory.

Have no fear, the white knight is here

Did I once mention anything about a players right  to use whatever car they want? Nooooo.

Oh this is too rich  Seems like today is going to be an entertaining day :D

Never said you did, genius. You did, however pronounce your prejudice against them and your fascist retribution towards them.

Never said you did, genius.
So then why bring it up, genius? In all of this, I’ve never said a player doesn’t have a right  to drive whatever they want. They have a right to chose their car, I have a right to decide how I want to race each individual competitor. You seem like the kind of person who has spent a lot of time focusing on what you have a right to do, but haven’t spent much time focusing on the idea that while you have your rights, others have their right to counter your actions.

You did, however pronounce your prejudice against them and your fascist retribution towards them.
   Sir, please, stop!!! I’m dying here

Appears to have become a troll thread.
Not really, some softies just took a tongue in cheek comment way to seriously, then the White Knight, Defender of Rights, made an appearance.

I’ll let the thread get back on topic though :)

....I am really tempted to make troll account though...get that SR and DR up, then just chuck a grenade into the mix for fun :p

Edit:
I mean, the number of times I've been battered into the first braking zone off the grid by a second place car who qualified much slower than me alone calls bobbah on that one.
I never specified a point in the race. I’ve been in the same situation many times. My personal style is actually to be extra courteous and cautious on the opening lap, and I’ll use the opening lap to judge the driving of those around me. But since everyone knows my MO in its entirety because of one tongue in cheek comment, I’m a fascist who should be banned

St. Croix killed my DR/SR. Started the week A/S and by last night I was C/D. So many people run up the inside and forces the penalty on me while pushing my car wide and or 1st corner bombers just blast through and wreck half the field. I had to run a bunch of Suzuka races just to get back to a B/B

Great daily race in the SR B crowd, lots of tight racing, and very little dirty play, uploaded the replay and added time stamps to keep it less boring..

Got rammed out of the way by someone claiming to be a SNAIL member in a Suzuka race yesterday, so that was fun.

Then later went to try the Audi R8 LMS at St. Croix. Had the lead ahead of a group of Ford GTs on lap 3 and exiting the long right hander leading to the long straight at the backside of the track, I brushed the armco completely side on and got brought to a halt in a weird physics breaking manner. Apparently it was also worth a 5 second penalty, so nice insult to injury moment there.

And that's why we need the daily races back. People are obviously getting too bored!

It was probably last place that didn't brake and caused a chain reaction through the entire field. The things you see when you don't qualify :)

Think maybe they could sandbag a car or two when they become widely popular on dailies. May urge people to use other cars.

Different set of rules from SNAIL. You would hope that if was part of it, he would take what you do there and implement that into sport mode

Well, it seems like practicing for three days to challenge the meta seemed to be for nothing, because the grid for the first attempt of Race C looked like this:
Gran Turismo™SPORT_20180805220147.jpg

Yes, out of 20 drivers, only five were in GTs. And neither of them even won. It seems like this particular lobby was filled with players who had exhausted the meta all week, and now were just relaxing and picking whatever car they wanted to drive for the last few races at St Croix. The race itself was good, but not great. I didn't receive any penalties, but I was stuck battling for mid-pack positions the entire race, eventually finishing 8th. I was strapped for time, so I could only compete once, so I went for the Mustang. It felt so great to slipstream in this car, and it was surprisingly stable. The two Aston Martin drivers gave me the most trouble, not because they were rammers, but because they were so devious in their racecraft, they left me chewing dust after I encountered them after the pit stop. Their DR makes me think that they are sandbaggers.

I had fun on race a and b this week. I used a car no one uses on b and got a couple podiums. Level bs here (low b dr).
I believe at dr low B gr4 it’s driver over car for the most part.
I did take the trophy for a spin a few times but that sound stinks. It’s a fine car for sure but that sound is annoying. The r.s. 01gr 3 has a nice bark, but the gr 4 trophy has an annoying buzz. Glad I beat a few.
Fun stuff great game.

Do the new races for the week start on Monday? I was expecting them to change on Sunday but obviously that didn’t happen.

So many people in that race should be banned ;)

That battle between the BMW and GTR was pretty funny though. Classic example though of how the GTR driver failed to protect themselves. The BMW hit the GTR exiting the bridge. GTR drafts past BMW on the strait....and then immediately cuts in front of the driver who just rammed them. Why?? If I was that GTR driver, I would have held the right hand lane in the braking zone, even lifting off the throttle approaching the BZ to ensure that the BMW was on my left side under braking. Then, mid corner through exit, Hamilton the BMW off the circuit by just gently escorting them wide.

Rule number 1 in punting someone off. If you’re going to do it, make sure you do a complete job of it. If you do it, you damn well better make sure that the person you punted won’t simply catch you up after another 3 corners...people have memories, and they will return the favour. The GTR driver missed their golden opportunity to return serve to the dirty BMW driver.

I had great fun on the Sainte Croix circuit this week. Got down to a 3:25.426 just 0.035 short of top 10 :)

Had a couple of really good races but this one was definetly the best. Really amazing race :gtpflag:

I might be wrong here, but in your hot lap, it looks like you left a tenth or two on the table exiting T3. You understeered and kind of missed the apex, which comprimised your exit. Otherwise, nice lap 👍

I went through the 5 stages of grief this week on St. Croix.

First day denial, jump on the new track as if it was the only chance to drive it that day.

Second day, anger. I was racing by the rules, however not giving up space or avoiding bumpers, let them come, enjoy your penalty. However the game doesn't give a 🤬 about racing rules and it only took two races to get down to SR.B. Then it took 5 painful races to get back to SR.A.

So back to avoiding at all cost, let the divers dive someone else, wave the punters through, drive by rear view mirror more than look at where you're going, and drive by radar through busy corners.

Third day, Bargaining. There's the thread here about the weekly races I participated in and I briefly contemplated signing up to Twitter to tweet along, yet then I remembered I have no cell phone and it's not worth the hassle creating a fake rerouting number. So I suggested in game to all drive the course in reverse in protest, or have a race of the slowest, without getting DQ, wins, let's stretch this race to an hour and mess with the servers! No takers

Fourth day, Depression. I only did 3 or 4 races and watched Alien Covenant and Extinction instead.

Fifth day, Acceptance. A new plan, no change in track, so change the car. NTSC racing, never the same car. A few hours ago I completed my quest to drive every single GR.3 car on St Croix. Here are the results sorted by finish position and door number. All from the back, never qualified.

Surprise surprise, the only win was in a Ford. Mind most of the other cars are from a sample size of one race with skewed results as some are from the (s)lower SR.S rooms and a couple from in the morning when half the room is D/S anyway. However the Beetle was by far the most awful to drive. It's rightfully last.

It was not an easy task with rooms sometimes looking like this

Fun working your way up through that... and that's from this evening. Racing did not get cleaner over time, rather the opposite. So much bumping. It seems it takes longer each night for the races to clean up. Before the penalty changes it was usually already better after 8pm. The last couple days you better not join in until 11pm or after midnight.

I managed to avoid most penalties yet now and then the bumping was so thick a red S was unavoidable. And what to do when both cars decide to brake early in front of you, thread the needle!

Here are some more clips from St.Croix, Broken start, broken penalties, broken pit exit (dumb idea for the pit exit to be on the racing line and making people gamble with ghosting) and a broken player. No clue how he keeps coming back to SR.S, never changes.

In the end this weekly race thing became a fun experiment, however it can be changed back now. I can confirm that the races are actually changing. Next up in 30 minutes, GR.4 NGP bleh.

Final stats for St.Croix. 69 races completed, 344 laps, 1 win, 10 top 5 finishes. Avg start position 17.7, avg finish position 8.7. Avg 9 positions gained per race.

Daily A changed over as well now, it's the N400 BMW M4 Coupe for Big Willow 5 laps, tuning allowed. Scratch that, settings are greyed out. Odd, it says settings open, BOP none.

Damm thats a bad group of people. Only way to avoid this is qualify well.

I sometimes find that untrue, across multiple racing games.

If you can qualify 1st or 2nd, good on ya. You’ll hopefully have a clean race.

If you’re top end of the mid pack though, like P4 through P10, I find that’s often where the worst racing is. Many of these people have their try-hard pants on, but don’t actually know how to race wheel to wheel dispite being able to set a decent quali lap. This is also where you find people who are proficient at driving dirty.

The people at the back, many are newbs who aren’t dirty on purpose, and most are slow enough that driving around them is relatively easy.

Personally, unless I feel I can qualify on the top 2 rows, outside of league racing, I’d much rather start last. You usually end up in the top 10 by the end of lap 1 anyways.
