I dunno... It has 'Tire: Sports: Soft' listed.

It's probably karts. But could also be either the Copen VGT or that Honda 2&4 thing.

Edit: possibly even the Honda VGT, Pug L500R HYbrid VGT, or the standard FT-1. I doubt it'd be the Nissan or Infiniti VGTs.

Shifter Karts on full Brands FTW. Or how about the Safety Cars at night time? I wouldn't mind the Ferrari 250 GTO since they would supply one for use. Have we had the standard Red Bull yet? Although this wouldn't be the best track for this beast.

Edit: Sports Soft on the X2014 :lol: No Red Bull.

Makes sense to me, but the powers that be thought it was a good idea to put sports hard tires on the 425 hp M4 this week. :odd: They might put sports soft on a 700-800 hp car.

Thus why I don't like "Daily races". We haven't had a Gr1 race yet so the end of next week will mark 3 weeks without an appearance...
 
This is why they need step it up (if the 'weekly' change overs are to continue) and give us a race for all Gr.1/2/3/4 every week and rotate tracks, then nobody needs to sit and wait til this or that category shows up.
 
I'm done with this week and will now be practicing Dragon Trail. If you see someone in a blue and yellow GT-R next week, enjoy.
 
Should be pretty obvious, but its incredible what difference a proper controller (layout) makes. Was driving with a cheap controller from gamestop, switched today to a proper PS4 controller and started to use the stick to accelerate - cut my best time on Nürburgring by almost 2 second within 10 minutes.

Right after I had probably my most thrilling race yet, battled for pretty much the whole 9 laps with a Ferrari for second place. He was slightly faster, but took the wrong pit strategy, so for the last 3 laps I was narrowly ahead and managed to hold 2nd place till the end.

Had an interesting discussion with him, since he claimed it would have been more sportsmanlike to let him pass since he was clearly faster. This is my first racing game in a long time, is it considered unsportsmanlike to not let a faster driver pass?

This isn't something you can get a blanket answer to. Every situation is different. I've had many times when someone moved over for me, and, many times when I had to (gently) shove someone out of my way.

It depends on a lot of factors. How much faster than you they are, what's at stake, and how long you've been holding them up. If they aren't faster than you by a large enough amount to get a clean pass, you're in the right to defend your position. But if you're having to block their run coming out of every single turn, you're just being a sore loser and absolutely should move over.

Plus, you never know who you're messing with. Not everyone is like me and will put up with being blocked for 5 minutes straight. Some will put you off the track and not think twice about it. Ask yourself; is it better to let him pass and take 3rd place, or, risk him taking me out and being in last?

Just to be clear are you saying defensive driving is blocking?

Edit: It is always up to the faster driver to pass cleaner, a lot faster or a little, if you cant complete the manoeuvre because you cant gain track position then no the slower driver does not ever have to move over.

The only case that doesn’t apply is if your being lapped.

Thanks, thats very helpful! Regarding blocking, I read up on it a lot, but it doesnt always seem clear to me where exactly the line between blocking and defensive driving is. From how I am handling it so far, defensive driving is taking the line that makes it hardest for the opponent to pass ( and stick to it), blocking to me means to react to the driver behind me ( for example he has the faster run out of a corner, I move over to block him).

The leading car has the right to choose whichever line they want on the racetrack, however, he does not have the right to swerve to stop an otherwise clean pass if the car behind would be leading by the next corner.

That’s a very loose terminology but sums it up fairly well I think.

Correct so as long as blocking isn’t occuring running your opponent out of room, compromising entries and exits within the letter of leaving fair racing room, means that it is entirely possible to keep a much faster driver behind you.

Being the faster or slower car has nothing to do with it.

I have to agree here.
You shouldn't "gently shove out of the way" anyone ahead of you, unless they're zigzaging and blocking every pass attempt. Those need special kind of punishment lol

If you're really faster, you'll find a way past. It's not racing is you're let a place, is it now?
 
It's just clear from this conversation who among us frequently hold up faster drivers and defend it to themselves with cognitive dissonance, and who of us don't need to. A quick KudosPrime visit confirmed my suspicions.

As an A+ driver I personally won't take advise from people who never graduated out of DR: B, but thanks for the discourse anyway guys.
