I instantly improved my 458 qually time by a couple of tenths using the Lambo. It stays far more stable through the bus stop.

I'll be racing the 458 though. Maybe see you in sport later? ;)

At your DR/SR level, probably not

Edit: Oh wait, I think I already have you as a friend on PSN! did you get a 1:46.700?

I pretty mich use the 458 GR4 exclusively. Exiting the bus stop can be crazy if you hit the second curb wrong. Talk about going on two wheels.

Your not kidding. Get some serious air in the Huracan

I flipped the Evo at the first chicane earlier, got on two wheels of the first curb then airborne of the second. Never got totally upside down before!

The weight of the Veyron makes it a bit more stable am guessing, however I am using the WRX at the moment.

EU is a Veyron one make on race B. Usually, I'm the only Huracan on the grid, with the occasional GTR from time to time.
Fair amount of GT-R users as well. I have seen one other Atenza in each of my races. However, I'm mixed in with D/S players and some have chosen to drive slow at the back.

Yes that's me :) I've had a few months off but getting back on pace.

It infuriates me how much of a lottery the curb hit outcomes can be. I've ploughed through there really settled, then the next lap, with near enough the same entry line it ends up stunt driver pro on two wheels finishing with a lovely drift which is the slow ass way through there.

The GR4 458 is my weapon of choice as well. I just love the drive and handling. I'm still learning the new tyre model and need to be more confident on throttle. It's coming though.

Replay?

I'm enjoying Mount Panorama a ton, racing from the back is a lot of fun and I'm finding new places to overtake all the time. Squeezing by in the cutting (T4) always works great when a car goes wide and on the mountain there are plenty places to make clean overtakes. Then I even pulled off overtaking in the esses, although not without contact.

Likely disastrous with the old penalty system, good fun under the new.

Fords are the biggest headache to overtake though as the naturally swerve a lot on the mountain automatically blocking any attempt pass unless they make a mistake. So how to pass a Ford that doesn't make mistakes. After being stuck behind him for a while, outbraking was the only option left,

It turned into a dive rather as I did not compensate enough for driving at Ford top speed in the Corvette. I've never gone that fast in the Vette! However picking the longest straight gave him plenty time to see me coming and leave me room. Thanks! Great driving on his end.

Of course not everything ends well, the esses are always a dangerous place

On the left I get the car behind me punted into me from further behind, SR Down + 2 sec penalty.
On the right a Ford messes up and slams into me, SR Down + 5 sec penalty.
Luckily the course is long enough to easily overcome one incident per race, never left SR 99 :)

And what to do with track re-entries. If I brake I risk the chance of having a spinning car in front of me that takes me with him anyway. I gambled I could go in front yet he clipped my rear, SR Down, 1 sec penalty.

Imo, it should be the responsibility of the track re-entry to merge safely. Not power back onto the track.

Finally managed to lower my DR to C with one Race A. Worst start imaginable, I was 4th and ended second to last. Now I need to lower it even more to end up where a bad driver like me belongs.

I've already done 16 races on the Mountain in the first 8 cars. At this rate I'll be done before the weekend with my mission to drive every car twice. I can't spend that much time every day though, good to be ahead of schedule :)

Here's the first batch of results

I'd be curious how you do with the R8 and the AMG SLS, I struggle with traction and tyre wear in the Audi, but the AMG is a bit more of a beast to move about

Likely disastrous with the old penalty system, good fun under the new.

They've obviously eased up on the track limits. Cutting Skyline like that used to get you a penalty! :odd:

Imo, it should be the responsibility of the track re-entry to merge safely. Not power back onto the track.

Well yeh. You don't just bang back onto the track without checking there isn't a 4 wheeled missile incoming :scared:. Sometimes though the pinball game physics means you aren't given a choice as to the circumstances of your re-entry to the track .

I'll give the mountain a go tomorrow probably. Finally winning one of the three F1 races in GT Lounge has wiped me out!

When I raced the 250 GTO, other drivers exited corners with little to no wheelspin. I tried everything I could think of but no dice. How is everyone exiting corners so quickly with the 250 GTO?

I had a ten second lead with the RS01 on Bathurst, but a sloppy pit entry and a jolt of pain in my neck distracted my nearly perfect race and I lost by 2 seconds to an AMG GT3. I must say the AMG is stable and can withstand the downhill sector easy.
That pit entrance at Bathurst, WTF? Was it a practical joke by the designers? :irked:

You are all slowly tempting me to have another go at Race C tonight, hopefully shall have a better time of it than my one race
yesterday.

Maybe my Sonic "Bullett" will get the message across this time.

Mount Panorama is a real track, not something PD made up. Real tracks have speed limits for pit entry :sly:.
I know it's a real track. I was referring to the track designers. I didn't know they did that just to make people slow down.

Did a bunch of Race B last night, 2 races in each of the Lexus, Jaguar, Hyundai, and Corvette.

This has also been my first time racing at DTS, ever, so it’s been a learning experience. Very fun though, this might be one of the best tracks for racing I’ve ever driven, it’s amazing.

That bus stop Chicane is a thing of beauty. Every lap as I’m approaching it, I take a deep breath and think to myself, “well, here we go”. I’ve found I’m quite a bit faster than most people through it, which really helps set up overtakes into the final corner. It has caused me to get into a few accidents, which really dropped my SR. I love the way you can catch the 2nd curb, and it launches the right side of the car in the air, like a V8 Supercar :). I use it to help rotate the car, then skirt riiiight up to that outside wall on the exit. So much fun!!

I’ll admit the Lexus and the Jag were a bit of a struggle. I ran both with no TCS, and struggled with rear traction exiting the first chicane, and final corner. I was also learning the circuit on the fly, so my lines probably didn’t help.

The Genesis and the Corvette though, those felt really good. Used the Genesis to get my quali down to 1:48.4xx, then bettered it in the Corvette with a 1:47.901 (really nothing special, but it’s my first day at the circuit, go easy :P), and managed to pick up a win with each of them. Again no TC, but I could get the power down no problem. The Genesis especially feels underpowered for its grip levels, so I could really stomp on the throttle without much thought. Both cars were really good over the curbs, I could really push track limits, but still have confidence on the throttle while riding the curbs.

For competition, I’ve been going mostly against :censored:rons, Hurricans, and GTRs. The :censored:rons are really fast in a straight line, but usually seem really poorly driven. I had one that I literally scared off the road by faking a divebomb, it was pretty funny
