Second attempt, what a disaster! I P8/15, That changed to P8/12 for the race. The alien in P1 was sitting on 2:11 with a Beemer. He must have had a very lonely race. My goal was to finish P6.

Race starts and I'm already having a bad feeling. I manage to make it as far as The Cutting before getting a shunt from behind. Helped me get moving and no orange SR! This race I was really struggling with the Esses and The Dipper for some reason. I managed to kinda hang in there feeling a bit battered and bruised, then the big one hit . Second lap headed down Conrod and the car behind was gaining. The 'stang was side by side positioned on the inside for the kink before The Chase. I moved aside to give him room for the kink, but moved too far aside and onto the grass. At max speed this is a bad thing :O. I was a passenger and slid all the way in pretty well much a strait line from the kink at the end of Conrod, across the track at The Chase, across the fairly generous sand trap, and into the wall :dunce:! I limped back and was re-spawned inside another car that had also gone off. I saw the second orange SR for the race and all up had 9s in penalties. On to the final lap. I pulled aside on the start/finish strait, took my penalty to nothing, and still went down a position because the game decided I *still* had a 2s penalty :banghead:. P11 for me.

SR only dropped by 1 despite all the mayhem and 2 orange SRs. DR dropped by all the points I gained from the previous race, and another couple of hundred from my win at Maggi. Tomorrow I'll give the NSX a go. Another day above DR 1 :dopey:.

As the lead car, they can choose whatever line they want as long as they're not weaving and blocking. It's the car behind that has to pass cleanly, which it didn't, by forcing the issue on the inside.
Lap 1 Conrod blocking, kind of feel you forced the issue with that contact, either choose left or right not the middle.
It wasn't his fault at all. GTP_TO Blue is correct

However, it would have been nice if zocker committed to a single line like rono_thomas suggested. We all know how bad the general daily race players are, let's act accordingly and as much as it annoys us, compensate with our own driving in their stead. It's better to be safe than sorry

Upon first view i thought the Megane was at fault but you know what, looking again, the Megane was a good way up the inside when the Mustang cut across the apex of the fast right, squeezing the MEgane out. He should have been more aware the Megane was there and maintain the inside line into the chase.

You’ve kind of missed the point. I didnt say it was legal or not, by positioning himself in the middle like that, joe blogs sport mode racer is going to stick the nose in, the sensible line would have been to cover the inside.

Again read what I wrote I said he forced the issue with contact because of poor positioning.

@NevilleNobody , The Megane may well have been a "good way up the inside", but was still behind the Mustang, before and at the apex of the corner. The Megane was also on the grass trying to cut under the Mustang.

Megane at fault all the way.

THis has happened to better drivers than you, in real life too.

At 2.39 of the video the Megane in on the inside line of the kink, just past the C pillar of the Mustang. The Mustang cuts across the apex rather than taking the wider line that would have given him the inside line at the next left anyay.

60/40 Mustang.

That isn’t debatable, yes the Megane is at fault. However the stang need to have been better positioned. Blocking the inside line, or blocking the outside line to hold the inside line next corner. Sitting in the middle of the road like that is just asking for trouble, and trouble is what he got.

Yes i know my move was a bit controversial. I tried to block and force him to slow down as there isn´t enough space to go side by side through the right-hander.
If i take left side he pushes me of and if i take the right side i would have done the same to him.
My plan didn't work this time.

If the Megane driver just showed a little bit of patience and nouse, then the crash wouldn't have happened.

It was only lap 1, plenty of time to overtake during the rest of the race.

This i agree 100%, but IMHO the Megane fuels this impatience because it is slow on straights so when someone has a chance to get you, they subconsciously feel pressured to make it happen.

I went further :p. The situation was similar to @zocker_16 's video, only I moved aside. That right hand kink has enough room for side by side if no one gets reckless. I just pulled over too far. It played out similar to his crash, only I didn't hit the wall there, I hit the white wall further up. More or less a strait line from the kink, across the left hander at the start of The Chase, across the sand trap and then the wall :dopey:.

Love those corner names over @ the mountain! Your race reports from there are reading like a real thriller! 'The cutting, the dipper, the chase', ...love it! Togheter with 'The alien and his beemer', we're in 4 a blockbuster!

As an Aussie, these names are imprinted in our brains. IMHo the three blindingly fast left handers, Reid, Sulman and mcphillamy parks, are the outright best section of race track for GT and touring cars anywhere in the world. You cannot pass but you must, must be brave there or the stop watch will punish you. And when it goes wrong, it REALLY goes wrong.

Yeah, i really enjoy to drive it!

I know what you mean, i'm from Belgium and we are very proud to have one of the most beautiful tracks in the world, our Spa Francorchamps!

Got my first win in ages (B/S) at Tokyo and did it in the McLaren 650 against a room full of VGT’s and GT40’s.

I actually quite like this car and it looks so damn good (IMO)

If u just rewind back 30 seconds of the video u can see that the exact same megane pushed the former number 1 into the wall, clearly he was looking for trouble, dirty one

My GTR just doesn't cut it against those Megans. All over them through the mountain, then comes the straight and they just pull, and don't pull me along with them.

I refuse to use that FF lump of crap. It's doesn't feel or sound like a race car either.

Edit: I've just had a blinder pulled on me.

Megane overtakes me on the outside, first straight. He just clears my front end then cuts in front in the braking zone. I had nowhere to go, and resulted in him getting smashed into the barriers. I get 5 second penalty that ends up costing me the win.

Video of this to come lol.

M4 is pretty fast on its own. I was finding it pulling away from the Megane on Mountain Straight and hanging with it down Conrod. The TT seemed more of a problem.

It's pretty good across the top. 2nd gear off throttle tuck in, helps at The Cutting and Forrest Elbow. I've touched 262km/h right at the braking point for the Chase. With a tow, quick glance at the speed saw 267, but it was on the edge. The sound is so high pitch. :scared::)

Rocket ship on the straights. I was fighting one last night where i was a SOLID 2 seconds per lap quicker but despite BETTER exits I could not reel him in down the straights, I was in the Lancer which is no slouch.

After a week or 2 i've tried racing again today! I was still angry about SR loss from getting bumped... 4 B races, got a 2:13:7XX with the GT-R, first 3 races where clean and back up to SR 88. Race 4 was clean untill the finish line, where a Megane tried to push me in the wall "defending" 2nd. SR loss and a 5 sec. penalty. Went from 88 to 81 with only one contact. But i gotta say i enjoyed it again today. See ya'll on track!

I gave up lol. I've resorted to the Megane. Instantly better race pace.

But some of the driving on race B :boggled:

Not yet, can’t be worse than the track limit stretching at red bull ring last week?
Yeah I'd say it's worse, cutting first chicane was bad but took some skill missing the blocks, Ascari was a farce, just drove straight over it.

Race A is bonkers! As an average to poor driver, I may as well take the week off or just accept that I'm going to be at D and E more often than not.

But what the hell, it's still fun!
The start is fun, amazing some of the false starts, managed to jump a few then slowly drift back. Seen two cars vault the first chicane which was an odd sight!

It is not worth gambling on under-fuelling in race C.

I'm not going anywhere near race A again. That shopping trolley is atrocious to drive and the lobbies are filled with wet blankets.

Clio Cup at the mountain is as enjoyable and exiting as daytime TV.

I really like driving the Tokyo track but I keep getting tapped into the wall and in the braking zones. You're lucky to escape with a loss of momentum and a 5 second penalty. More often the rear end goes full Salmon on you and you end up nose against the wall with 20 seconds lost and a 5 second penalty.

Which other racing games are good on the PS4?

Project Cars 2 is good but I find it extremely hard to drive on a controller.

That's interesting. My previous experience with the M4 was that it was great on the twisties, but not so great on the straits. I was getting passed there. Maybe they changed BoP again after nerfing it the first time. The M4 on pole in my last race qualified with a 2:11. The best I could manage with the Viper was 2:18.
