That's interesting. My previous experience with the M4 was that it was great on the twisties, but not so great on the straits. I was getting passed there. Maybe they changed BoP again after nerfing it the first time. The M4 on pole in my last race qualified with a 2:11. The best I could manage with the Viper was 2:18.

Yeah, I checked qualy times before a race and saw an M4 at the top. Just hoped it wouldn't become the meta.

The Scirocco was also good. That race I posted earlier, I wasn't struggling to keep up. Pretty stable everywhere. I'm just using the M4, to make it feel like I'm in the B12H. Couple more races for the replays and then I'll jump in the Atenza.

I was gonna say that you need to raise the ground clearance for it to be authentic BoP, but then I remembered that was for the 6H :lol:.

M4 is pretty fast on its own. I was finding it pulling away from the Megane on Mountain Straight and hanging with it down Conrod. The TT seemed more of a problem.

The M4 has been my go to since launch. It's a great feeling car. And it's extra satisfying beating the "meta" cars with it
 
Fiat 500 Abarth on Monza is not as fun as I thought it would be.

Kind of dull compared to the S660, Beat or Mini races.
 
I got back to SR 99 on Tokyo, picked up 3 more wins along the way from the back. However when I got to SR.S chances of winning without quali were over, and the bumping increased. It's fun surprising Fords with the Ferrari. It's not just getting side by side by out braking, you comfortably pass them from behind in the braking zone and make the corner no problem. They don't even have a chance to turn in on you. Of course on the straight you get smoked by them, can't draft pass a Ford, just hang on close enough to out brake again.

After getting my SR restored I went to Bathurst. 3 laps is not enough! I didn't qualify there either and there's simply not enough time to work to the front. And of course in my second race I lose 11 SR from one incident. Sprint races are brutal. I made a small mistake on the way to the top of the mountain, scraped the wall, stayed to the right so the car behind me could pass as mine slowed down a bit, no problem. However that invited the car behind him to try to squeeze through as well, however the next corner was already there. I stay wide, he still bumps me, I end up with 2 wheels in the grass. My back end brakes out, I try to hang on and clip the inside wall. The next car behind doesn't lift or anything and tries to fly by my car bouncing back from the wall. 3 sec penalty for me. I guess this is why people instantly block when they make a mistake...

GR.4 is kinda boring on Bathurst, 3 laps is over so quickly then a 12 minute wait for the next race. Tokyo is kinda boring as well, hectic first 2 laps, then usually nothing happens for the other 8 laps. I did have a few nice battles though, definitely a lot of fun when you have some evenly matched people around you. However in the last one I did I was penalty free until the last turn where I was zoned out so much from driving by myself I ran straight into the back wall, 5 sec penalty and still didn't lose my position... 18 sec gap either way, yawn.

Quite the contrast with one of the more exciting races where I found myself sitting in a puddle of blood after the race... I hit my foot on the wooden rocking chair I sit on in front of my crappy tv, thought nothing on it (do it all the time, never learn) yet apparently it was bleeding all race long. One of those things with getting older, don't even notice you're bleeding anymore.

Mixed bag this week. Love Bathurst, GR.4 meh. Monza another favorite, N200 yuck! Do the N800 one again :) Plus the reports of corner cutting again... Tokyo all depends on who you are racing with, can be great, can be so boring you forget there's one more turn. Hmm, it's only Tuesday.
 
Im not sure if this has already been covered but any suggestions on how to use the fuel map for the GT on Tokyo? Whats the best one pitstop strategy?

You can pretty much run the whole race at full speed in the Ford, if it's a bit short you can make the difference with short-shifting. I haven't tried the other fuel maps but I guess you can save a lot of fuel without losing any time if you sit in the draft.

If the Megane driver just showed a little bit of patience and nouse, then the crash wouldn't have happened.

It was only lap 1, plenty of time to overtake during the rest of the race.

Is there really though? If the driver in front doesn't make mistakes you have your work cut out trying to pass.

Race A in the Fiat 500 is kind of like playing GT Sport in slow motion. Especially the super long straight with no chicane. I had time to make a cup of tea on lap 2.

I am happy though.180+ races later i finally get my first win. About time too! Starting on pole lost 2 places due to a slow start but got them back on lap 1 and pulled away. Messed up Ascari putting 2 wheels in the sand on the last lap and nearly lost a 3 second lead but held on to a first win. Happy with the result I went back for more.

Should have quit while I was ahead. Race A was OK when leading because SR was not in danger. Next 3 Slow Motion races saw SR drop from 99 to 71 for a host of the usual bizzare penalties from being rammed off and getting a 5 sec penalty as a reward to making a fair but close pass and getting Orange SR Sectors. I will say, a couple of the points lost were my own fault where I tried to brake to avoid problems ahead but the Fiat needed an appointment in writing first. In future when I get into a rut of races where SR is dropping I think I'll log off and come back when I'm fresh. I tend to find that once I start losing points I get a little frustrated and my reaction then leads to more points lost.

Well when you put horrendously slow cars on a long track, it is guaranteed to be a bore.
 
Second race of the week at Tokyo and got myself into a Peugeot VGT sandwich!

Unfortunately the McLaren was just too slow on the straight loosing about 0.5-0.75 Sec with no slipstream. Kind of worrying watching the delta in front growing rather quickly, and the delta behind closing rapidly. Rather comical trying to overtake the Peugeot on the straight; I could get a slipstream, pull alongside, and then just watch the Pug slow pull away. I lost the slipstream after lap 4, but kept it clean to bring it home in 4th.

The driver that won was a fuel saver (had 35% after 5 laps) and also didn't change tyres.

Any ideas on a car that can beat the Pug? Maybe the VW VGT GTI or the Mustang? Not sure how they are on tyres and fuel; maybe something to try tomorrow.

It's amazing you can haul that McLaren so far :eek:

Try the VW VGT maybe, or if you want... the Huracan :D

The McLaren isn't "too bad" on other power tracks like Le Mans and Monza.

Hmmmm, the Huracan sounds like a recipe for disaster! I haven't lost my sanity (yet).

Ummm... Why you and Akagi were on the same lobby?! Probably due to Bathurst being one of his strongest tracks, just like me and Tokyo East Outer...

Or probably he is just there to risk losing his DR for the sake of enjoying himself ;).

Don't know of that player, but my race before that was horrid.
Using the Mustang, after just completing the Manufacturers race.

Edit: Man, listen... Started 4th from 5th because another Mustang user dropped out. The red flag player comes from down south and punts me at T1. Stay focused and make up spots from last place.

Aaaaaaaaand that is why the weekly format sucks. The simple solution is either more diversity or faster track rotation.

This has been my issue with race B. Leave half a car gap, somebody will try and fill it, at your/my expense.

Anybody makes a mistake, they will instantly block and cause carnage. If I clip a wall or make a mistake and someone has the run, I'll leave them room, not turn into their line, but people still try to muscle through.

I have to say though that it's been pretty fun, but that Megane needs the nerf hammer for power/top end or maybe needs more weight.
 
I did half a dozen or so Bs last night and was surprised to see few Méganes. The last two races I did there was not a single one. And I got a win with the WRX and two wins with the Genesis.

Yes and no! If it were a Daily C with fuel use I'd bet you'd see less of them. It was my fastest qualifying car for Daliy C last week but it was eating front tyres so I did not race it. Also it's the nature of things that no matter how much you try and regulate there will always be a "best option". Bathurst for the Megane this week but we'll be giving out about a different best option next week.

My only problem is the whole ugliness of seeing FWD touring cars beating the likes of proper GR4 cars. I think @05XR8 asked in another thread about touring cars as a class of their own. We have Lancer, WRX, Scirocco, Megane up against Lambo and Ferrari, just looks a little awkward to me at times.

What are you on about mate, the megane is still overpowered on fuel/tire wear, except then you use the trophy :lol:
In fact its been meta for a really long time, a glaring issue if you ask me. They've got the whole thing backwards, the car that essentially has the lowest skillcap is also somehow the best to use. Where did the risk/reward go?
 
Absolutely zero consistency at bathurst, and I know the track better than I know my own children. I can squeeze out a high 15, optimal is high 14 and usually put in 17s.

Abysmal.
