Brands is fun.
I have a strategy with my secret weapon.
I will be using TCS this week unless I switch up cars.
We will see how a good to race car but not fastest qual car does...
Lol who cares I am low b dr, might as well have fun.

No need to pit, drive 80-90% of your fastest one of the easier tyre wear/fuel races. Just look after front left tyre by not over braking on it.

I only raced it twice and changed tires (only) at the finish of the 9 and on 10th lap... just in case... on the last race (change on 10th lap) I lost control of the car when braking on the most "closed" hairpin that this track has... and I felt it could be worst next lap.... so ... I changed the tires...

Competition was strong last night on Brand's hatch. Full A/S rooms, pretty much a 911 OneMake. Race A and C must not be very popular this week.

It provided plenty clean racing with everyone pretty equally matched for a change. It did however also mean that starting last didn't yield a lot of position gains and thus rapid decline of DR. Which is fine, clean racing is more important. I had some great battles, going side by side for 3 or more corners in a row without contact or anyone going off, that's how matchmaking should work!

The best I managed was 10th places, 11 seconds behind first, tight groups, lot of great pack racing. Normally driving in a train is not all that exciting, on a technical track like Brand's it's great. I didn't mind at all not being able to pass the car in front of me for 4 laps with another right on my tail. Nailing that many corners without contact wedged in between two cars on a track like Brand's, that's real racing!

I'm also using a controller, and murdering my front tyres in race C.

Ok this may explain the reason why I started getting passed up near the end!! I was keeping up with some A DR drivers but suddenly started to get gapped quite a bit. I was like man how the hell are their tires not wearing out.

But reading some of the comments in here, I was braking pretty hard on every corner. Probably should practice on that but besides that I really enjoy daily race C. Probably will try B today.

I really hope eventually we will get some "N###" races soon, I like driving GT cars alot but I like driving street cars as well and every lobby race I join the races are never clean.

As i suspected, Brands is a nightmare. It's such a tricky track, so much off camber and blind, it's really hard to stay on the road itself let alone race as there are no true passing zones either. After 4 weeks straight of my DR climbing, i've lost near 2,000 in two nights.

Race A is too slow and race C, I suspect if you drive auto it's a REALLY tough slog, the 86 needs revs and coming out of the two key corners it lugs in 3rd, killing your lap times.

So the madness of race B it is.

So.. I had a go at race C using my TH8. I clearly had an advantage over the opposition. Qualified on pole and I was nearly 10 seconds clear of P2 at the end. It did feel a bit like cheating...

I might just do a bunch of Race C with my shifter just because of this. I’m usually the only one in the races I’m matched in with all driving aids off and ABS Weak, plus I heel & toe on downshifts (with a small chance of mis-shifts), so I’d say it’s a fair trade :D

I managed to maintain 1:09 until lap 13-14..then 1:10 until lap 17 without going into pit.

Remember not to pit, you really don’t need to. Just watch your cornering speed in the second half of the race.

Mmmm, I was sceptical about Bathurst but it actually turned out OK by midweek as everybody had a handle on the track. Brands on the other hand just gives me nightmares in public matchmaking. Don't know if I should risk it lol. Technical track + impatient sport mode racers = recipe for disaster.

I've run some qually with the NSX and pulled a 1.24.088 but unless I'm starting top 5 of the grid, I'm not even touching this race..... yet.

1.24.0 is hustling, you're a solid 2 seconds faster than i am.

Bathurst has two clear passing areas, Brands has none, and it's trickier than bathurst to just stay on track. I gained about 6,000 DR points at bathurst, will be lucky to break even at brands i reckon, it's tough sledding. At least it is 6 laps rather than the ridiculous 3 last week.

It's a shame more people don't realise this - it seems like too many people try to overtake where there isn't really an opportunity (or a need sometimes), and spoil a good race as a result!

Brand's is such a technical track that needs practice that one can really see difference in driving standards among lower and higher DR much more than, say, Tokyo.
It's missed braking points and stupid overtake attempts all over the place even in high B /low A, but with really good drivers that don't do idiotic stuff (rare jewels) it really is, if not the best, then probably one of the best tracks in game right now.

There are plenty places to pass on Brand's, however if you're driving the same car and the car in front makes no mistakes, the most you can do is draft a wheel next to their bumper before the next corner. Lift and tuck in behind is the only realistic option and it's great to race with a crowd that realizes this and has the patience to all keep the speed going rather than slowing the car in front down while gaining nothing yourself. (That is if they don't overcook it and bump you off) Then you have bullies that simply out brake you at T2, no matter what, preventing you from turning in, again slowing both cars down.

There are 3 kinds of overtakes. One where you lose overall lap time, usually out brake / dive and block through the corner, and one where you gain with a better exit and clean draft pass. And the more rare side by side when a draft pass leads to 2 cars fully next to each other. That loses time as well, but it's fun when both drivers respect each other's position in the track and a real test of race craft.

On Brand's hatch, when a car gets his nose only a tiny bit out in front of me before the braking zone, I'll give him the corner. It's more efficient that way, we'll both be faster through the corner. If he slightly slips up anywhere I can pass again. If he's indeed faster than me, he can give me a tow to the front where slower cars may be struggling.

My one experience of Race C:

1:09 up until lap 10, 1:10 until lap 15, 1:11 for 16/17

I qualified first and stayed there. I was in a lobby with one other B/C guy and a bunch of D DRs which was unfair on them, but it was an easy enough win. Guy in second pitted on lap 9 and went about 12 seconds behind me. Finished the race with a 7.5 second lead, but I didn't push too hard on the last two laps since I didn't have to. It was a fun experience, trying to decide what I had to do while I was still playing.

The Beetle race, on the other hand....

My first go, I qualified second two seconds behind a guy. I only ran two laps in qualifying but I had an idea of the track. I knew the right hander where the other road starts coming down is taken flat. The guy in front bottled it, lifted, I hit him, he spun into the wall. Three second penalty.

Then the right hander into the tunnel. Guy in third had caught up by now. I was on the left, he was on the inside. Bang, he hits me, spins, I get an extra five seconds. I watched the replay and I wasn't used for brakes as I thought, he just couldn't keep the car level through the corner which is fair enough. Out of spite I refused to serve the penalties, luckily I was more than fast enough to win.

Great fun if you don't care about your SR, at least.

Anyone know if Gr. 1 or Gr. 2 is next week? Is that usually the pattern after N class?
I'm thinking Gr. 2 at Fuji, for next week Race C. It's going to be epic if that's next.

So, did another race C and won, now I’m back in the zone... almost

The win was a bit hollow though, I was running third, first and second we’re about 3 or 4 seconds ahead. Something happened as they appoched the Dunlop bridge. The guy in first waited for the other guy to get past him. Which meant I just went sailing by. I used the TH8 again. I totally screwed my start by missing a shift and ended up 6th from 3rd. I managed to fight back to third after a few laps but kept missing shifts. I had a few “rubbing” incidents in the first couple of laps but my SR didn’t suffer. I need more practice. I could have gone a bit quicker.

Aargh, Brands is killing me .. went off two times and cost me 1400 DR but up 6 SR :-)

I’m driving one more ....

Update: No, it was not a good idea ... :banghead:🤬 another 1000 points lost but now my SR is 99 ... so that is a silver lining

Trying today to do any of weekly races for the first time today. The timing of race starts are all the same. Race starts need to shift between A B C so we can join in the other after racing in any.

Second, too many people screw up your attempt at a clean race, is total bs.

I do not have any answers. Or suggestions as I am too upset at this time just trying to race clean.

Why yes, yes I am angry. I should be relaxing and enjoying this, but no. There are players who make it a point to kill a clean race and then have no penalty, just because they game the system.

It’s wrong.

Before you say it. It’s a game and that’s why I’m leaving tonight instead of playing. I hope things change, I love GT and drive mileage every day.

Whatever I don’t think PD gives S.

Also, what about those start times?

Won Race C because the same guy who rammed me off halfway through the race also spun the fastest driver off twice, then finally crashed out himself and the person passing for the lead on the last lap. Good times at Tsukuba.

Was 2am by the time I was done with last nights race, so today is the report :p. I'll only be doing race B this week cause, well the fake6 requires to much skill to drive competitively, and Tokyo... HELL NO! Last night I took the love bug for a spin. Seems to work ok at Brands, but I wasn't getting the best out of it. I qualified P7/15 on a mixed grid of DR/B, C and D.

After what seemed like a jolly long time auto drive finally let slip the dogs of war and we were all plunging headlong into T1. I found Herbie making a graceful exit off the track and into the sand, courtesy of someone being a bit too keen to take a stab at the inside. After I was re-spawned and finally got going again I was down to P14 :yuck:.

It took a bit of doing, but I managed to work my way up to P7. Along the way I saw 4 orange SRs. Two were from me tail gating and having the car in front brake unexpectedly. The other two were from people who decided to turn in on me. Crossed the line P7 with no penalties :dopey:.

Despite the 4 orange SRs I finished on SR 99. DR went up a bit. Day 1 visiting DR/C :D.

Managed 3 race C's last night at Tsukuba; a track that I haven't raced online at all (only raced in GT league). First race I started at the back, made it up to 8th before making an unforced error. I was trying to take a wide entry line into the final corner, but put a tyre on the grass, and as SuperGT says, got "sucked off" into the gravel. Eventually finished 12th, but the race was better than I expected.

Did a 1 lap quali in between races and started 8th. Survived the first corner and finished 3rd. Repeat again. Started 5th, and again finished 3rd. Overall, the racing was pretty good; drivers gave space and had a few side by side battles that didn't end in tears. Matchmaking was quite poor though; usually grids of ~16 with a wide range of DR. Overall I lost ~1000 DR (mainly due to the 12th) and I don't know if I'll run this race this again as I think it will get boring pretty quickly.

You really need to charge that phone.

Edit: btw, phone batteries lifetime is reduced when going too low too often, it's ok to charge a phone from 50 to 90%, it doesn't count as a full charge cycle, in battery life vocabulary. ;)

Hi guys! How´s the brand new BMW M3 GT3 behaving on Brands Hatch??

Same for the 2 cars upgraded by Bop Changes:

・Audi R8 LMS (Audi Sport Team WRT) '15 [Power Ratio : 92% > 93%]

・Volkswagen Beetle Gr.3 [Weight Reduction Ratio : 110% > 109%] ???

New M3? What's the difference with the oter 2 then?

Or just another different livery?
