Kei car races are win/pole farms. Got about 40 of each in the Honda Beat at Yamagiwa a few weeks ago.

I just looked up the FIA races for today, GR1 Fuji, GR4 Brand's hatch. I might give those a try. I think they are on from 6 to 10? Is there a time slot I cannot enter due to top 24? I can't find that info on the website, just entry open 18:00, entry closes 22:24, rather odd. I do remember trying to enter a FIA race once on a Saturday and it would not let me.

There are no Top 24 Superstar races

Well that was pretty disappointing. I did the GR.1 Fuji race, didn't qualify (was eating dinner waiting for the actual race to start) and started in 18th as 2 had lost connection already before race start. I did the 15 minute practice beforehand, didn't get under 1:30 lap time.

The race starts, my Audi R18 makes up some places on the straight plus someone crashed in T1 of course. So we're coming up on Dunlop, the car behind me has a 2 bar connection, either doesn't brake on time on lags into me and punts me into the car in front of me. Then in the corner he lags into me again. Then I notice my car is pulling slightly to the right, very annoying on a controller. The same car then touches grass and rams me from the side in T2. I notice that front and rear bumper and left wheel are all blinking on the display....

I try to drive the car yet it's just going much slower now so in lap 3 I go into the pit. 10 sec repair break for aero and suspension. Now I'm in dead last where I stay. I pit again in lap 8 for fresh tires and get the blue flag in lap 11. I move aside and brake early for T1 to let first through. Then go wide through T7 to let 2nd and 3rd pass safely. I stay ahead of 4th before I finish 1 lap down. I finish 16th since 2 cars disconnected including the car that hit me 3 times.

Yup, much better with damage. not.

Oh and the post race chat was some of the angriest I have seen in the game. Everyone had a blue rating, very few penalties, yet tempers were very hot. Good thing it closes after a few minutes!

Next up Brand's hatch.

For some reason I picked Jaguar when checking the races last Wednesday so now I'm stuck driving the F-Type. I practice for 15 boring minutes then get matched with mostly DR.A+ and DR.S again. There is only one other DR.A in the room. My punishment for doing well last week on the Nordschleife.

Qualifying starts, people are letting me pass on the outlap, then when I try to do my quali lap I get bumped off 3 times. The second quali lap goes better yet I notice my tires are quite worn already. I go in to change to soft tires as that seems to be the fashion, do another outlap, get held up a bit during my quali lap and set a 1:31 lap time. That puts me starting last, why bother!

The race finally starts and it's all going quite orderly. I follow behind the pack, not really having the speed or room to even attempt to over take. I pass one Brazilian that got bumped off the track who then forces me off the track in lap 3. Oh well, my connection to the pack lost and I'm not catching back up again.

I manage to keep the car on the road and pit halfway with me front left tire pretty much done. Then I pass a car limping to the pit for repairs. He gets out 6 seconds behind me which he slowly makes up to bump me from behind in T2, lap 11. I would have given him space to pass yet as soon as he got in range he had to pointlessly bump me, while the next car was another 10 sec ahead of me. He pushes by in T3 as door to door racing is mandatory in A+.

I make up one position in the final lap from someone limping to the finish. I finish 14th (couple disconnects again) and get 419 points. Whoohoo. My best lap is the slowest of all, no other Jaguars in the race so I'll blame it on the car ;)

To sum up, boring practice, frustrating qualifying, boring race.

Those 2 FIA races only cost me 1350 DR somehow, basically finishing last in both races. I lost a lot more for a single disconnect on the Nordschleife. I guess I wasn't worth a lot of points in these rooms.

Oh, I didn't know that FIA races have damage. I've never tried one of those races. From the sound of things, it's probably a bunch of dudes who take the thing way more seriously than I do.

It sounds like being in a recreational softball league with your friends, and you're all trying to have fun, but it gets ruined by the guys who get way too hardcore and scream at their teammates when they make errors.

Why why whyyyyy do we lose dr points for getting disconnected before the race starts?! I find it absolutely ridiculous. I have full bars and hard wired my PS4 to the router. I warm up for 10'minutes and when the time runs out on the top of the screen it loads the qualy screen then poof! Gone! Error code bla bla bla and I'm down a few hundred (1k last time) dr points. It has happened to many times in the last few days.

Lol your first race sounded awfully lot like my Brand's race which basically ended in L2 when I got totalled, 2 rams later i got lapped by p13 by the end :D

@teebone I've lost few thousand once, so you're still good.

i can tell they ninja tweaked the penalty system , 2 orange SR gets you a red rating everytime now

Daily Race B, 18:10 Room.
Car Used: Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept '18

200th Sport Mode start, 20th Sport Mode pole position and 20th Sport Mode win! Slightly uneventful after the two 911 RSRs that could've been challenging me crashed down into the field. One of the contenders, who set the fastest lap of the race, got killed by lag, and another one went straight into the pit divider after getting it wrong into the final part of the esses and trying to push his CSA way too far.

Also, BIG NEWS:

My rating has been upgraded to A+/51539!

I knew I liked Lake Maggiore but only now discovered this data in the GT official website. ^^

Most of these races happened between GTS' launch and January and almost all were Race C. After that I left and only came last month.

It's a good overview to check which tracks I need to practice more.

Is there a "trick" involved when you get a threatening message from a guy that actually hit you off the track twice. I honestly got upset about this way of racing so I took him out. Now he wants to report me? Do they think they can just hit people off the tracks? I'm not killingly serious as I know this is a computer game but getting these kind of messages put me off...... Cheers.... ---Just pi.... me off. :yuck:

What track is that on? Daily A or B is sometimes only worth 5 SR points max, or even as low as 4. An orange SR is -2 and you don't get the green arrow for that sector so you basically miss another point. If the track is only worth 4 SR for a clean race, 2 orange arrows will be a red rating.

If you get threats through psn messages you can report them to Sony. They will investigate, but it comes with a big warning that you can be suspended as well if they deem it was unnecessary.

Don't worry about getting reported in game, it does nothing.

Thanks Sven - GOOD to know! Cheers mate.

Thought giving B a try and wow, instant red sr..

The amount of people that slam the brakes to max on esses and then cut into me :boggled:
Started 14th, made it to 4th, bumped off from esses to last lol

Too tired for a race report.. more races than usual for me. This was a new one. When The count down to race matching finished, instead of the garage view that you usually get with the initial position (before people get hit by the "go to the race select screen" bug), I got this:

@Sven Jurgens ... what....have.....you....done???? !!!

@teebone I've lost few thousand once, so you're still good.[/QUOTE]

I'm on the cusp of A+ so it stings a little extra when I get disconnected. I've been an A driver for the majority of my sport
Mode career. I just want that little plus sign next to my A damnit!!!!!!!

oh I've been there too. One time I was approaching A+, I think I was at 48-49k DR....2 disconnects in a row, followed by a bad race where I got punted and couldn't gain it back. Each disconnect cost me 1500, and finishing in the bottom half lost me another 1000. 4000 DR lost in like one hour. And winning races at that level doesn't usually yield very many points unless it's an FIA race, and these weren't. So it took quite awhile to grind back those points when podiums and even wins only get you a few hundred each time.

Ignore them. There is no point in even acknowledging such a player.

Try to stay in SR S i.e. avoid retaliation, as these types of players end up in the lower SR levels where it seems to be normal for players to deliberately try to take each other out. They're really playing a completely different game down there.

Lol. Race B has turned into the Beetle cup. I'm a lone FT-1 getting bumped and dive bombed by beetles everywhere.

Thing is, the FT-1 race pace is great. It suffers mid corner on the hairpins which is where impatient Beetles feel the need to "ease" you out of the way.

PD: Scrap that Beetle. It'll look better as a crushed cube of metal than it does now. Makes replays look like Fortnite for cars

Edit: Last race was great. Some very close clean driving on the last lap. Heart pumping stuff.

Are the races for next week already known? I know that there used to be a way to tweak the url patterns of the GT site and see what's coming next, but I don't know if that's still possible since they changed the races from daily to weekly.

scroll down. the display is kinda weird, but the 2nd set of 3 races should be next week's dailies/weeklies.

Have you guys seen this yet?

Be careful out there. I can see disgruntled racers engaging in this behavior.
