Well, I just moved up one spot in my last race..... racing by myself while all other cars had the shakes.

Since the latest update the bugs are worse than ever and occur far too frequently.

As crap as it is racing by yourself is preferable to the opposite, which is racing with everyone else while they can't see you. Cars drive straight into you and push or spin you out of the way - like you're not even there strangely enough. Its pointless to race like that.

My return to GTS this week is not so good lol

Seeing all this Catalunya cutting going on which has completely put me off and tbh I could only manage a 1:49:000 there so I don't think this circuit is for me lol, had difficulty with it on F1 too I think the corners are rather deceiving. Will practice more as the week goes on.

Race A will be a SR damage fest imo... which leaves me with Yamagiwa Miyabi. Some reason I just dont feel motivated to play that??

Bring back Seaside, East Outer Loop and Blue Moon Infield A.... Haven't played them since summer I hope they bring it in soon!

Race B is great once you're up to speed. That's my race for this week. Takes a bit of time to get the long left hand sweepers up to speed but I enjoy that track, even if I've never managed a win there.

Same here, Race A is penalty city and I haven’t tried C yet, B is my track this week as well. Just haven’t settled on a car yet, I used the RCZ last night and it did ok but not great.

Reading this, I'm happy I'm stuck in DR. D, at least I don't fear of being too slow on some circuits :D
I love this new Catalunya track, I had some really nice races on it ! Even solo in VR time trial I've a lot of fun drifting in the long curves :)

So Race C - Catalunya Circuit, am I to assume there's no point in trying to set a high lap time because shortcut central at the end of
the lap over the final chicanes?

I have a 1:49 but drove my socks off for it to drive correctly and can't do any better....

Not raced for about a month due to not liking the combos they have been using. Had a whip on B race last night. Started 4th, finished 3rd. Started 2nd finished 6th. Started third and got a win.
Typical I’m away for work now so won’t get the chance to race again

I'm using the TT. It's quick and it can ride curbs (but the understeer needs managing with gear selection). I prefer the 458 or NSX but you have to choose when to use them. Power tracks make them redundant unfortunately, for me anyway.

The GTR or Hurrican might be worth a try.

I honestly have no idea what you guys are talking about re. cutting the last two chicanes. I tried it and was heavily penalised, you can throw two wheels over but not 4.

Anyways, had three shots at race C, I really do like the track despite it's rather technical nature, it works well on a controller as there are no sweeping S bends to contend with. Managed a 1.49.4 but I can do better than that, there's a 48.5 in me somewhere but after that i think i am toast. Not 100% sure tyre wear is needed at this track, it leads to a lot of errors as grib levels are changing so fast and every corner is very precise around Catalunya. My 2c anyways.

They dont cut it they just dont take the chicane at all. They take the old part of track and the game doesnt punish them.

Just watch a top10 lap replay.

Yes this, they even go around the bollards that are there and are still way quicker. Quite why they are not reset to track (Pd's usual trick), given a big time penalty or why they don't just have a full on wall in there, is anyone's guess.

I'm real consistent here now, except for the last chicane where I ruin every decent lap, I can see what made people attempt to skip it.

As a result I can only do a 1:45'7 but I least I didn't cut any corners I guess.:dopey:

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

To be fair, no one did that in any of the race i was in last night, mostly SR S and A.

.
There’s still very much a point, people are doing mid 44s while staying within the track in my region.

You should try the Lancer Evo. Got a 1st and 3rd last night, just got lucky but the car handles great and easy to drive without tc.

Fair enough, hopefully I will figure out the good lap later on then

I tried the GTR and Hurrican last night on the QT’s and I was slower by 1-2 seconds over the Peugeot, maybe I just need more time in the Lambo, it seems to be a popular choice. The 7th gear messes me up and I end up not downshifting enough or downshifting too much lol, Im used to 6 gears. I tried the Viper too but it wasn’t much different, I ran the Peugeot all week last week so I’m in tune with it now but I don’t think it’s fast enough for this track in DR A, these guys are quick.

I actually just won that car last night, I’ll have to give it a try tonight. Thanks for the suggestion. :)

How's the Atenza Gr.4 these days? Used to love that round Interlagos....

I think it'd get mullard in the current race B. Not tried it but I think it'd be to slow along the big open sections.

Sweet handing car last time I drove it though.

I think I tried almost every car to find the best one (at least the one that works better for me).
I first tried the TT and I didn't like how it handles in acceleration out of the corners.
I then registered my personal best with the Ferrari.
I finally tried the Aston Martin and I was able to do a 2.28.8 and I really like its agility however, I lose too much time on the straights.
I finally found the car for race b, the Renault Megane. Super fast and less agile than the AM, but better handling than the TT.
I was able to register a 2.28.1, give it a go if you've got time.

Atenza feels like it's on RM's but down on power. Then again, at my skill level, everything feels down on power!

Race B - Notice the Top 10 has a favour for Alfa 4C, a car I loved so much in Gr3 form earlier this year, but which requires fine throttle control to maximise power while avoiding oversteer, which means as a slower driver I approach with slight caution and back off at key points so don't get the most out of it.

Hooking up corners well in the twisty section after the first corner saw full 5-10 mph gain on the Scirrocos at the top of the hill, but they pull away on the straights. VW seem popular here, but the field I was in was very mixed and led by a GT-R. Far from a one make, even saw a Bugatti but they soon dropped places and struggled.

After all the weird PD stuff going on on the daily's since last week and after losing 1,8 DR in 2 race starts in them it's only Qualy mode 4 me this week. Yesterday i run Catalunya 4 the 1st time and set a 1.47.6. in the Lexus '16. Motivated to progress, a 1.47.2 in the Mustang. Then, i read there's a lot of corner cutting going on over there, i look @ the leaderbords, and indeed, times look artificial. Result: De-motivated and stopped.
Then today, i gave B a shot with the Veyron, run 10 or so laps, every lap war faster then the previous one, purple sectors all the way with a 2.31.4 as result. Felt good and looked at my friends 's times...Dissapointed!!! Really! Thought i was in there, but they where al using TT's or Megane's. And if therere's one thing i don't prefer, it's using those cars in Gr.4. Still gonna try the Lambo, Viper, Citroën, but again...De-motivated!!!

Nice one now, from a 31.4 to a 30.2 in just one lap in the Lambo...Feel better now!!!

@Whiteshark90: Sorry, something strange happened with your message when i typed mine. Grtz!

Provided you don't get assistance from another vehicle, it's not that hard. I found the track limits a lot more forgiving that I was expecting. I was expecting them to be similar to le Sarthe when it was first introduced.

If you’re just using the “track” then of course you can avoid penalties easily, but to be competitive and on the limit every lap, sometimes you’ll get a penalty for seemingly no reason even if you have two tyres the right side of the white line.

I was going to try race C tonight (love Catalunya) for the first time in months but hearing about the limits, I guess I won't.:(

Another week in the lobbies then.

After some practice with lines and cones, I have them off for Catalunya. Finally learning it.
I enjoy this track. Best times for me are in mr cars, but I’m not sure if I want to race with those...
Track has a great flow.
So much time in it-requires smarts. I really like it.
It presents a tactical decision to be made though...Is it worth it to choose a faster less stable car or should one go for stability but slower?
Imo it’s a great track.
I enjoy Yamagiwa, but add Miyabi and I’m awful.
I miss you gr2. I wish I did more at Suzuka...
