Personally, I like the idea of the split in the Americas. I haven’t raced fia so I am very curious how these penalty zones will work out.
Espescially since it seems that people won’t be able to shave penalties by lifting.
It may as well be brake checking when people do that, and if there’s a well matched room and close racing it causes chaos.
I’ve had many races where I could have picked up more spots if penalty zones were located at the beginning of straights.

Whether these changes actually make lagging less of a problem or not, I don’t like the fact that PD made these changes because of (seemingly) only one reason. There are several very good reasons that have already been mentioned for why the three regions should remain together.

Next weeks races are up:

A: Gr.4 (car provided) - Lago Maggiore Centre - 10 laps
B: Gr.3 - Interlagos - 5 laps
C: Gr.1 - Monza (no chicane) - 11 laps - RS, RM, RH

The last 2 combos were both used in the Nations cup world final (though we have had gr.3 at Interlagos quite recently as a weekly race)
Race A will be a brawl. Gr.4 is pretty fast for that small track. Don't go there if you value your SR.
I'll be there, for sure.

Did we not have 5 laps of Interlagos in the Gr3 only 3 weeks ago? Last 4 Daily B if I recall were RBR GR4, Dragon Trail II GR3, Kyoto (Yamagiwa-Miyabi) GR4, Interlagos Gr3. There are plenty more tracks to go through before Daily B should have to repeat. I don't mind that daily races are not daily but if they are going to be weekly there's certainly no need to repeat them so soon. (EDIT: just saw @Hasnain282 point saying same thing "though we have had gr.3 at Interlagos quite recently as a weekly race"

I may try daily A for a change, at least they are Gr4 cars. Could be a brawl as you say though. Possibly we'll have cars lapped with 10 tours of a short circuit and relatively fast cars? If you get a lobby like mine lately with a spread from SR S to SR B then any "offs" at the rear could get caught.

I think you're right. A good Gr.4 driver should be able to make it around that track in about 46-48 seconds. Maybe 45 or less for the aliens. Depends on the car. In race A, you don't get to bring your own.

Yep, if it's a rolling start there's a gap from first to last before you even cross the line (10 secs plus?). If you go off and have to be reset that could easily add 5 secs and there's bound to be 2 secs a lap difference between front runners and tail markers. It might be a very interesting lap 9 and 10.

Ouch, running softs on N24 in a group.. Not good:boggled::D

Feels like ice skating on 3rd sector, and rest of the grid just passes by, later on I figure out they're running mediums:D
Ah well after not touching the game almost a month, 14th to 3rd to 14th, so easy to lose bunch of time with 1-2 mistakes in entire race.

And yet, the fuel warning in the middle of the screen for almost entire race, priceless:lol:

A: Gr.4 (car provided) - Lago Maggiore Centre - 10 laps ....... But which car willy it be that's the question ?
Sadly we don't know .

They've used the Scirocco before, here too I think, certainly one of the Maggiore variants. They've also used the Cayman and the TT elsewhere. Have they used any of the other GR4 cars as a one-make race before?

Whilst I'd say a repeat is more likely sadly, it would be nice if it was the McLaren or something else normally almost unusable.

I'm guessing Cayman. However, if a "provided" Gr.4, maybe Scirocco with multiple color choices.
So you would go for the Cayman and Scirocco , gonna give them a try .

Did some laps with the Mclaren was a pleaser to test it on that track would be a good choice .

Trophy.

Yeah, I think Cayman and TT were at Miyabi.

I do hope it's a car we can choose colors.

They've done the Huracan at Yamagiwa Reverse. And I think they've done Atenza, also.

Thank god this week is nearly over. Absolutely hated the selection this week. Race B Gr.4 at Red Bull Ring actually sounds great, but in reality it was an absolute disaster. 4 races and my SR was destroyed from S to B through no real fault of my own. 🤬

Next week sounds more promising.

The Huracan Gr.4 featured in a race at Monza too, but I'm pretty sure that was before the switch to weeklies.

That last race felt like I started last and made my way up through the field.

Just done some test with the 3 Gr4 cars done with Hard Race tyres , Mclaren , Scirocco and Cageman .
Mclaren ; 47'813 but sensitive for curbs .
Scirocco ; 47'617 but has been married with understeer (not to much lucky )
And than are beloved Cageman ; 47'847 to lazy to accelerate in second gear but has no problems with curbs .

DO NOT underestimate the importance of math in being a competitive racer.
I was in 3rd and I just slammed on the brakes at the end of lap 4 to scrub off penalties in race B. Only problem is; it's a 5 lap race.
Finished 9th because I can't count to 5. :banghead::banghead::banghead:
2nd time I've ever done that.

Anyone else???

Think I did that once.

No, not exactly but I was 2nd and so close to a win after starting at the back on my GTP account as I usually do and it was the final corner so I tried a very risky move around the outside and went off. Only problem was it wasn't actually the last lap, if only I had noticed that, I was almost certain to make a pass later on, dumb mistake so instead I finished 4th.

Haha, I've done that many times. The perfect scrub before the finish line to be left wondering, why am I still crawling over the straight while people are passing me. Hold on, final lap flashing? Not again! I can count to 5 though, usually happens in 9+ lap races :p

That's the beauty of N24, can't make that mistake. I did somehow manage to run out of fuel today in a race. Dropped from 3rd to 6th as my car gave up before the final run to the finish line. I must have been stuck behind slower drivers all lap 1 and none on lap 2 to manage that. The pit doesn't let me leave until it says 1.1 lap left. Perhaps I should pay attention to the numbers some times instead of tapping the x button as fast as I can :dunce:

<raises a hand> Erm yeh. Also filled 1 lap less on fuel because I got the number of laps left wrong, and braked for the first chicane at both Monza and la Sarthe when it was a no chicane race .

M4 is fast. Didn't think I would keep up with the Huracan and TTs as long as I did. Especially when I inherited 2nd place. Thought the Huracan and TT would hunt me down. Not so...

Edit:
So far, the SLS has the fastest cornering speed of the cars I've driven. Amazingly fast with time I've made up. It doesn't have top end speed, but it handles like an MR, just with better balance.

Ugh, just met one of the worst players. He punted me in T1, then a brake check on the way to T3 and spun me out in T5 slowing down on my inside to push and spin me out. All because I had the jump on him at the start and passed him on the straight before T1. The penalty system let him get away with all that, f that. I chased him down following a trail of wrecked cars left in his wake, him still penalty free. At the end of the mid straight, I punted him into the wall, left him turned around in the grass, bye bye.

I know it's not good behavior, yet when the penalty system fails that dramatically what else can you do. Take the dirty driver off the road yourself :( Unfortunately I got disconnected a minute later so I'll be paying for it next race, no chance to compensate for the lost SR. Sorry, worth it. Fix the damn penalty system.

Damn disconnected again after warm up, Karma sucks, Now I'm in SR.A :/

I got punted when running 2nd at the 'ring, at the tight and slow left hander about 1/3rd through the Nordschleife, called Wehrseifen. In the end I came third I think ... so no worries ... and the guys who beat me did not stop. Anyway the chap texted me to apologise during the race - I got two sorry messages. Then he messaged me after the race and he said his wheel went out of control I replied saying thanks and not to worry. So mistakes happen and sometimes its just one of those things ...

The next race the winner also did not stop, driving the SLS Mercedes, and he was not much slower than me ... I saved fuel behind him - being smarter than him ... then I pitted and he want on to win the race. i'd like to try that tactic ... not sure if medium or hard tyres though ... I've been in the Porsche. Not sure I would be fast enough on the hard tyres to pull off a non stop, and I'd have to save fuel somewhat carefully too I reckon.

Daily Race C, 05:30 Room
Car Used: Volkswagen GTI VGT Gr.3

Qualified 2nd (initially 3rd, but the original polesitter got disconnected), finished 3rd. I was catching like crazy on Mediums to an A/A Kiwi in an Evo on Softs after getting savagely divebombed by an Aussie in a JPS Vantage, bouncing me into Makozi_Akademik in, what else, an AMG GT3 in T1. 2nd stint on Softs here we go and I was able to close the gap to the Kiwi, but was not able to beat him on the line...
Winner is the new polesitter, which is a Japanese in a Mustang.

----------------------------
Daily Race C, 06:00 Room
Car Used: Porsche 911 RSR '17

Qualified 2nd, won by 11 seconds. The polesitter, which is the original one in the last race, did well, but the RSR has that world-renowned tyre wear advantage over the Vantage. Plus the fact that he is one of the two fastest Automatic Transmission players (a certain Lambo guy who won the Nations EX S2 is the other one) that I knew in the Asia/Oceania region (5th of December is the Segregation day for us here) means that he has to refuel a signifcant amount compared to my 911 with some fuel saving (39% VS 46%), which I was able to pull a significant lead by over 7-8 seconds or so, then I simply use the fuel map to change the mixture so that I will be able to survive with what I have left in the tank after a short refuel and tyre change. I'm running Softs for both stints in this race.

Meanwhile, I will leave you with a photo from one of the races from yesterday.
