And so we end the week with Mr Toad's Wild Ride

. I was going to end with my fav, the blackbird, but since N24 is less like a race track and more like a rally stage, the pops, whistles and growls of Herbie seemed fitting

. I started P7/18 on a grid of mostly DR/C and D with a few Bs and an A thrown in.
The race starts, and T1 was chaos. Surprisingly many were tip toeing their way through rather than trying to smash their way through, so whilst some people did make contact with others, it wasn't enough to hurt any one. Once the first two corners were done it was on like Donkey Kong! I could see some argy bargy going on, but generally the people around me were trying not to make contact, so there was several corners of side by side with people staying on track 👍. I was using mediums, because I just didn't trust myself to make it to the pits without spinning out somewhere after Kliens Karussell. The bug on mediums was dancing very nicely... till I was Monza'd at Aremburg. How the heck I managed to keep it out of the sand I will never know. Tyres went right up to the edge and I just prayed it would turn in if I gave it a bootfull. I managed to recover, and was boogying down the hill... till I spun out at Wehrseifen

. I think I dropped back to P14. I got my 🤬 together and pitted P10 with 0.8 laps of fuel left.
Boots and fuel and of I went. still P10. I caught up to P9, was more conservative than him at Hocheichen and he pulled a 4s lead .. which I reeled in slowly, got a better exit out of Bergwerk and had the velocity to sail past him long before the Karussell. I just didn't have the race craft to slip past so I hung on to his arse like poop on a goldfish. We were both catching up to the four cars in front of him, and despite having a better run, just didn't see an opportunity. I had the speed but just not the race craft to pass *cleanly* . In the end I finished P10 with no penalties. .
SR back to 99. Was expecting to loose 50-100 DR. I gained 30

. All in all not a complete disaster to end my racing week. Day 1 tripping DR/C.
