It's amazing how the slow the Megane Trophy is now:lol: I got wrecked when I raced it on the Red Bull Ring. I also lost a heap of DR in my desperation to get a decent result. I tried the GT-R and was presented with a much better opportunity due to the slower opposition. I came second, but the margin was very small to first. Can't remember the exact margin but I think it was 0.2 of a second.

The TT and the Lambo seem to be dominating the RBR this week, though a Mégane gave me a pretty good run earlier. :)

Daily Race C, 06:30 Room
Car Used: Volkswagen Beetle Gr.3

Gifted the pole position, as the original polesitter got disconnected before making it to the warm-up screen. No one seems to just divebomb anyone into T1, and since I'm doing the Soft/Soft 1-stop strategy, it helped me to build a 3-second lead, which at some point peaks out at 4 seconds. Not much has happened for Nadeshiko Beetle's first race... Won the race with a total time of 16:58.9

Daily Race C, 07:00 Room
Car Used: Lexus RC F GT3 '17

Qualified 3rd, finished 2nd. Utilizing the fuel saving abilities of Big Lex, I was able to make the no-stop almost carry me into the lead, but due to the fact that there is an ultra-fast FT-1 driver (his total race time was a 16:43.5), I wasn't able to jump into the lead. At the end stages of the race, I had a great battle with a guy in a Z4, which lasted until the line. Unfortunately, he had a 1-second penalty, which if he defeated me on the line, I would still claim 2nd anyway. Great start for the Nepsus!

I almost caught an Alien!! Well, lol, he started to slip away by the end but I was right there with him for quite a while. What a fun race!! :)

Edit: WooHoo! I finally beat my time for race B, 1:36.5XX, beat it by a tenth! :D

I won in daily race c! I did really good conserving fuel.
I beat a lot of German cars in my big dong American car AKA the Corvette Gr3. Good car. Good handling, good acceleration. Tyres wear out a little too much though at the front.
Had a simple, but very awesome livery based on the West Corvette C4 from Japan for any fans of more obscure Corvette tuners. I made them proud.
This marks my 55th win. Now I’ll see what gr1 car I shall pick for next weeks daily. Last time I drove Monza, I liked the 908 the best.

Holy Crap, That Alien I almost chased down is the fastest guy in NA(#2 in the Wolrd) on this track, I can’t believe I got that close to him. :D

Edit: Oh and I got my 40th Win tonight, man it’s been a great night of racing. :)

I've taken to using the Trophy for the first race of the week. It's stable and easy to drive so it gives you an opportunity to sus out how the scene for the rest of the week might be while still giving you a chance of staying on the track :p.

No stop in the GT-R. Some of these cars need better instruments. I think I had plenty of fuel in reserve and the tyres still had good grip.

Trying the Gr.4 at RBR. This thing is a boat on this track. Starting 11th. Probably won't be there for long.

Damn, triple whammy. First lap N24, twice a car loses control. First next to me, slams into me, 2 sec penalty. Then in front of me, I avoid yet the car veers back into me, 5 sec penalty. 2 racing incidents and then a disconnect 10 seconds later. From 99 to 78 SR in 2/3 of a lap. SR.A again. Sometimes all you can do is laugh at the stupidity of the SR system. This has nothing to do with sportsmanship.

I was up to 44.5K DR after many great races today at 99 SR. Just so silly one race can easily tank your ratings.

However next race the game still lets me in with the SR.S crowd since it's 2AM already. I'm starting 17th, the only SR.A in the room. I manage to weave through the messy NGP part (it seems the back field is already half asleep) and finish 2nd with clean race bonus. Awesome race. +12 SR to 90. Good enough to get back in the max SR rooms tomorrow, time for sleep!

Switched to the Lambo, but couldn’t work out how people going so fast in it as I was doing mid-37s and struggling. Changed my wheel settings - SO much better. Now I get it!

Just done a 36.9 and can be consistent in low-37s.

Might risk racing again!

I started N24 as 99/S yesterday and finished the day with 60ish sr. One instance specifically where one car kept using me as brake in technical first sector of forest part, so I just let him pass. 2 corners later he's eating grass, think he quit soon after.
Funny thing is, in all those punts I got sr down marker and 3-5s penalty, think I had 15s when I let him pass

RBR gr4 is really fun tho, I just wish it gave more SR.

His race pace was slow, very slow in fact if he is capable of a 1:35.2. It makes me wonder how he got that Q time or if he wasn't even trying in that race. Maybe something was off for him too though, I've felt that myself sometimes, not sure what causes it but sometimes lapping under 1:36.6 was hard when usually I could get 1:36.3/4s and 1:36.1 when I had a real good lap.

It's qualifying that does me, I did a lot of laps and so I have a optimum of a 1:35.39 or so but my best is actually a high 1:35.7 and that was such a mess it probably shouldn't have even been allowed. There's always somewhere where I lose 2/3 tenths when I'm on a great lap. :(

This is true, he should have blown me away. Maybe he’s not used to getting pressured? I don’t imagine he gets it often. I kinda lucked my way into 2nd place behind him with the pass in T2 on lap one, I was slightly late on the brakes and got really lucky to squeeze in where I did without hitting anyone, maybe it caught him unexpectedly and threw him off lol. He’s probably miles ahead of everyone by that time usually lol. Either way I’m happy, I even got ahead of him for a whole 3 seconds at one point and hung on to his coat tails for a lot longer than I should have, so I’ll take it haha. It was definitely the highlight of my GTS Career so far. :D

And so we end the week with Mr Toad's Wild Ride . I was going to end with my fav, the blackbird, but since N24 is less like a race track and more like a rally stage, the pops, whistles and growls of Herbie seemed fitting :sly:. I started P7/18 on a grid of mostly DR/C and D with a few Bs and an A thrown in.

The race starts, and T1 was chaos. Surprisingly many were tip toeing their way through rather than trying to smash their way through, so whilst some people did make contact with others, it wasn't enough to hurt any one. Once the first two corners were done it was on like Donkey Kong! I could see some argy bargy going on, but generally the people around me were trying not to make contact, so there was several corners of side by side with people staying on track 👍. I was using mediums, because I just didn't trust myself to make it to the pits without spinning out somewhere after Kliens Karussell. The bug on mediums was dancing very nicely... till I was Monza'd at Aremburg. How the heck I managed to keep it out of the sand I will never know. Tyres went right up to the edge and I just prayed it would turn in if I gave it a bootfull. I managed to recover, and was boogying down the hill... till I spun out at Wehrseifen :banghead:. I think I dropped back to P14. I got my 🤬 together and pitted P10 with 0.8 laps of fuel left.

Boots and fuel and of I went. still P10. I caught up to P9, was more conservative than him at Hocheichen and he pulled a 4s lead .. which I reeled in slowly, got a better exit out of Bergwerk and had the velocity to sail past him long before the Karussell. I just didn't have the race craft to slip past so I hung on to his arse like poop on a goldfish. We were both catching up to the four cars in front of him, and despite having a better run, just didn't see an opportunity. I had the speed but just not the race craft to pass *cleanly* . In the end I finished P10 with no penalties. .

SR back to 99. Was expecting to loose 50-100 DR. I gained 30 . All in all not a complete disaster to end my racing week. Day 1 tripping DR/C.

So far I only did one race today: N24. Started 7th with my Ibanez M6 , got Problems with the very different car handling once race starts (It‘s definitely different compared to Qualy or an ad-hoc race with the appropriate settings) and got moved to 17 of 17 before the field reached Fuchsröhre.

Again a no stopper and I finished 12th in the end. Interestingly in this rather silly race I somehow I managed to set the fastest lap.

@Pigems the Megane Trophy is actually very quick around RBR. It’s super stable, geared in a way you can hold a higher gear than the TT and keep speed in nearly every corner. The problem is that the Trophy is quick when you’ve got a clear track and can pick every breaking point and apex just right. If you are in a race with others breaking your momentum you won’t have the acceleration to compete.

Today was another good for me on Daily B. I used the TT even though I hate how the front wheel cars pull out of slow corners. 3 starts in P9 & 10. 3 finishes in P4 & 5. DR up 1,000 to 14K (was DR 1 in October) and SR at 99. Again, close, clean and fun racing at RBR for me.

RBR gr4 is really fun tho, I just wish it gave more SR.

It happened again. Started at 90 today, T1 2 cars collide, one veers right into the barrier, nose to apex, blocking the road. Despite braking as much as I can he ghosts 1 ms after I tap him, penalty 1. Not much later another incident, car starts braking way early, I unfortunately make contact. It doesn't hurt him yet he decides to speed up and use the run off at the Kumo Kurve, thus penalty for me. Drop to SR.A sigh.

Sunday afternoon is a battleground, especially with this kind of matchmaking
afad.jpg

I'm still finishing top 5, gain a few SR, lose a few. Last one was down again to 82. It's a challenge to race and gain wedged in between a lot of unstable Sunday drivers. Challenge accepted.

I had a mixed few races at N24. In one, my TV's timer informed me it was going to turn off the TV in 4 minutes. And there was nothing I could do.

In another race, the fast lap was awarded to some guy who was not mentioned in the cars finishing. And his best lap time for the N24? 9:37 something ... what the ****??? Yeh the winning time was 17 minutes flat, but the fastest lap was almost 10 minutes, and the car wasn't in the race.

And in another race, I pitted second, put on tyres and a drop of fuel in the 911 ... and came out in 4th place - strange I thought as I hardly put any fuel in it and had a decent gap behind ... the 3rd and 4th cars were not far in front ... I thought they mustn't have changed their tyres. I drifted about quite a bit on the F1 circuit - and I realised my tyres were heavily worn. Yep - my worn softs were still on the car. Mr polyphony I saw my guys change them. 3rd and 4th stormed off too ... The high speed corners were fine but the slow ones were extremely difficult ... I had to drive safe and I came 10th.

At least I am consistent though - I always get a penalty at the first corner. Just hit me from behind or the side guys and I will get rewarded!

I used the video of a race too and saw that I overtook on the inside of the first left hand corner at N24 - it looked fine to me ... the other car was outside ... I got a big penalty for it ...

Had a couple of better races tonight at RBR. Much cleaner. Much more fun!

No dive bombing that I saw.
One driver put on hazard lights and pulled over to the right on start/finish straight on lap 2 to serve is penalty and let me by.

+1300 DR. +10 SR. That’s me done for the day.

They gotta sort the track limits out at RBR (and others). The game would be all the better for it.

Last days of the N24 was just bad for my SR...

Down from 88 to 72...

Next week's Race C is going to be a Divebomb Central I believe...

Is it just me or sometimes in the corners the car loses some traction, like if there is a bit of oil on the road. Am i the only one that this happens??

I won the Ford GT LM Spec II yesterday for my daily workout, so I tried it for the Nurburgring Group 3 race. I didn't set a lap time, and started in 12th. When I got onto the Nordschleife I was sitting in 5th place, and I somehow found my way to 3rd. Then things started to go wrong fast. I went off the track several times and lost a stack of time, in conjunction with my penalties. I pitted and dropped to 8th place as a few stayed out. I got to 6th place and pretty much stayed there until the last 200 metres. I had a 0.283 second penalty but when I hit the brakes before the line, nothing happened so I dropped to 7th. Still, could be worse.

I experience this too but people always tell me I'm imagining things. :sly:

To what if you don't mind me asking? I managed a low 37s in race but best I managed in qual was a mid 37s.

Dezcom's reply to beegentoo who said::

Dezcom: I experience this too but people always tell me I'm imagining things. :sly:

It is quite possible to get the fastest lap time, because if you pit, that time lost adds onto your driving time. So if you want to get the fastest lap time, hope no one in front of you does not stop. And put in a good first lap while the tyres are fresh.

I did some practice laps on Interlagos on Time Trial to get ready for this week’s race. My question is if BOP is in effect for Time Trial as well because my fastest time was with the GR.3 Beetle which was about 2 seconds faster than the 911, Mercedes, and the R8.
