I did also notice last night in three races I got intentionally bumped four times while overtaking and the Porsche guy dove in t1 making five dirty moves.
It seems to me people were more aggressive than I have seen lately.
What I do when someone bumps by is focus much harder. I get triggered and then apply as much pressure as possible. Most times it seems if the person did it on purpose they are expecting to get served and end up making a mistake allowing a clean pass. What’s funny is like the Porsche guy. He dove and hit me, I passed, he bumped again, And passed and I passed again next turn due to him pushing trying to escape me and running wide.
I think if your mentality is to bump pass, it makes it easier for someone like me to get by after.
The thing that’s annoying is it just slows you down when people take this mentality.
I would like to see penalty zones implemented as soon as possible and also some adjustments to the penalty system. I’d like it stricter.
The majority in the rooms I have been in are positive and clean, but there are others that require changing my driving to deal with. One thing I can’t stand is like what happened last night twice. I slowed to avoid contact and was obliterated by the folks behind oblivious to my brake lights. I make my liveries a certain way to make my brake light stand out. I’ve noticed if my livery makes the lights hard to see I get more problems.
All that said, I enjoy the challenge of dealing with all this. It’s fun to know going into sport mode that it’s a dynamic situation. I couldn’t imagine racing ai. I’d rather do time trials.

Stay thirsty my friends

I'm Dr b/sr a. Looks like im a tick slower/less consistant than you, though I did run a 1:33.43 in a race I won last night, running alone in the lead. Funny thing is the lap before I ran a 33.7, felt good, then the next lap ran REALLY wide in the uphill double apex right, thought i might go off, and ended with a 33.4. Go figure.

On that double apex I like to run my vette tight inside on throttle. It’s a good spot to overtake for me because I notice many folks run very wide on entry. In race that’s what I do almost always. In these qualms I was running that. Tap brakes two down throttle hard then lift a touch as car rotates then up one and on brakes full.
That’s what I do. I hope to run into you online. Sebastes742137.

Its kind of funny how everyone here says the same things about driving and penalties. I had a couple of bad races today, but no major sr damage. In one I got away(I thought) with the lead pack, I was 6th with about 1.4 on 7th. Lots of rubbing in front and I needed to slow...got t-boned in the hairpin after the double apex right and spun into the grass. P12 and 5 seconds to 11th, got to 8th by the end but will need some new bodywork. I guess i need to defend the inside at the hairpins if I have less than 2 sec on the following car.

Best race in a while for me today. Race A. Average DR rating on grid was higher than me. Started 7th. Finished 3rd. 10 relatively clean laps. Liking my new G29 with the VW.

Also completed the 2nd stage CE Catalunya. Having a tough time with the G29 with the Lambo. Even with FF max. torque set lowest, it feels so heavy. I think it will take some time to get used to.

Yeah, me too! Sounds like we could have some good dices. I usualy run tight there, too, but that lap i was in too hot, coasted to the very outside of the track until the front started to bite, then rolled on hard to help rotate. I did notice a bunch of extra revs in hand before braking for the right, so maybe it was actually faster than my standard line. BTW, i'm Rexracer702 in the game too.

2 races went from SR A to SR C. 68 points down to 35. Thought the last one would be good since i started 2nd and the pole had a 32.7 to my Q of 33.6. Good start and good speed into T1 tight on P1's bumper, and I'm knocked into the the paint by P8 doing the bonzai up the inside. I get the orange flag and back to around P10. Got worse from there. What is it with people that blow a corner, and when you pull along side to pass 100 feet later they try to slam you in the wall?

Is there any way to erase your Q time, or is it there until the races change? How can you run time trial without setting a Q time?

Monza got better as more people came online. Better matched rooms provide cleaner racing. Cleaner that is, not exactly clean. Clean enough for me to get back to 99 SR and finish top 5 from the back. I even got a clean race bonus.

Instead of listing the crappy penalties, a how to make use of a dirty driver

Spot the dive bomb coming, touch his car and get a free short cut. Thank you, goodbye.

I wish you could! But you can't. Hit retry before passing the line or get stuck with a time like I did this week. You can ofcourse create a custom time trial in arcade with the same settings to practice.

I was in that race. Nice pace bud. I was hoping to give you a good run, but got punted on lap 1 by that guy that ended up finishing 2nd. That race in particular was right in the middle of 3 in a row where I got taken out on the first lap and had to serve at least 5s in penalties on the way back up. I enjoy driving the 908 here over the group C cars, but it’s tough to navigate the first lap with all the different braking points and turn-ins on the track. I think I have a quicker race pace in that car though. My faster wins were between 15:40 & 15:45, but that’s starting on pole and not encountering much traffic after lap 1. Congrats on all the wins!
Thank you. I remember know. I was wondering where you went after the first set of corners thinking how did you die. I saved the replay so I can look at it.
Again, thank you.

Classic! I'd like to say I'll use that move next time, but I would probably eat a barrier. Lol

Just got to do some races this week.
Race A is completely **** currently because the pad/wheel bug still exists, which makes you almost one second faster.
Had 4 races where I started first, got kicked off in the first corner twice.

I guess I'll have to try race C now.

Love it.

I can see my profile in kp, and DR/SR stats are up to date, but none of my finishes have been showing. It shows 0 wins/0 podiums and I should be about 3/6.

Just looked again. Should be wins/leading laps, and poles. Shows 0 for all and Ive had (at least) 3 wins and poles, and one of the wins i lead every lap. Question: one stat says races; 12/finished 47. I believe the 47 may be my total so far, but what is 12?
Interesting, I'll have a gander when I fire it up later.

The Sauber C9 is quick on Monza but it's not very good on the soft tyres. It really struggles to corner after the first 4 laps, and I lose a bit of time. On the straights the car can keep up but I can't maintain the pace across the circuit. I was able to stay with the lead group in 4th until the pit stops, where I came out 6 seconds behind the leaders who pitted. I couldn't make the time at all, even though I was on soft tyres. I only scored third place as a result of someone else's stuff up on the last lap. I would've placed fourth if it wasn't for that.

Just had a practice race under the conditions for next week's Race C. Can I assume the refuelling takes longer because of the size of the pit?

Well, I just ran the C race for the first time. Three times in a row. SR is back up to 58. I ran 3rd for a couple laps in the second race until i got spun in the first chicane on lap 3 or 4. Worked my way back to 7th from 12th. Im running the Toyota hybrid since its the only gr1 i have. It has no top speed, but boy does it accelerate and stop. I had 92's come by me on the staights with 20 mph on me (I'd guess) and i couldn't even catch a draft, but i would walk on by coming out of the first chicane or the right handers. Went med, med on tires for the first 2, and did a no stop for the third on hards. Hit the 1 lap warning coming out of the second chicane on the last lap using full power all race, so fuel isn't a problem...at my pace at least. Same guy in a '92 wrecked me 3 times that race, and tried to knock me off track a couple of times. I guess he didn't like how easily I passed him in the tight sections. Still bettered my grid position by one (to 12th) in that race, so I may try the no stop again and see where i end up without all the crashing. Seems from where I start I can usually gain 4 or 5 spots by the first corner, but usually loose 1 or 2 before the braking zone for the chicane. I just have to survive the first lap.
Can any of you fast guys tell me how lap times on this hybrid compare to something like the 92?

The Hybrids (esp. Toyota) are quite a bit slower than the Group C cars, however, they are more consistent over the length of the stint as the Gr C cars suffer a massive drop-off in tyre grip after 3-4 laps. I did try the TS050 in my first race, no-stopper on Medium tyres. Qualified on Mediums with 1:24.9, was lapping ~1:26-1:28 up to lap 8-ish, and finishing time total was ~16:10. My best race in the Jag Gr C qualified on softs with 1:21.8, best lap in the 1:23's and an overall race time of 15:52.

Just did a run of C with the 908, breaking the mold from my previous runs with the LM55 and R92CP. It doesn't quite have the top end speed of those but I still beat the best qualifying lap I set with the R92CP by 8 milliseconds. Because the driver on pole got disconnected I got pole instead. In the first half of the race I did battle with a 2011 Audi R18, fittingly enough. Lost the lead on lap 4 as I lost traction out of the chicane. Still remained not too far behind the R18 (which seemed to be slower top end) and decided to try and make it to lap 6 as the R18 did the same. As I entered the pits after lap 6, I had two or three seconds of penalties to burn off but I still leapfrogged the R18 out of the pits due to one gutsy decision: I decided to not refuel, thinking I could make it on a full tank without messing with the fuel map because it's a diesel engine. Sadly, the R18 driver lost their composure in the second half of the race so it turned out to be easy in the end. I took the checkered flag with barely enough fuel to spare.

TL;DR: Started first, finished first, didn't refuel.

This is what I did. Earlier in the week I was just resetting on the line to get my lap sorted, then after a few races from the back of the pack (most of which didn't end too well), I decided to go into TT and see what my real time is. I compared that to my friends leaderboard to see if I matched up, and for the next few races judged where I've would have been in the grid.

I was happy with my time so I went and locked it in as my quali and have been mostly top three on the grid ever since. Result!

Oh, and on attempt 6 or 7 I finally got my P1

I am the chosen one! Mighty hand of justice sent to strike the unroadworthy! I'm a fuel injected suicide machine!!!! Oh yeh, I'm lovin Oceania! Check it out

Oh yeh, I totally shredded them! I can go to bed content in the knowledge that I like, totally dominated the week ......:banghead:

SR unchanged, DR down 70. Another day above... oh what's the freakin point, this is shyte .

I tried a few more races on A last night, it doesn’t even seem like it’s worth playing right now, 2 wins for a total of 36 and 39 points gained each, 2 seconds for a loss of over 100 points each and a 3rd for an even bigger loss. SR went from 61 to 48 thanks to some jack@$$ who decided he wanted to bump the only A driver in the race at ever corner to make himself feel better, he hit me so many times that the guy who won the race ended up winning by 5 seconds, and his QT was almost a full second slower than mine. It’s awful hard to catch anyone when you’re getting rammed at ever corner by the guy who thinks that’s how you race. It sucks that other people can not only ruin your race, but your ratings that you’ve worked so hard to achieve. What a brutal week of racing.

I did race a couple of B races last night, and was making it through turn 1 okay from a top 5 grid. Seems to be the 2 hairpins that are always my demise...and it's almost never someone I'm actually racing, but someone 1 to 1.5 seconds back that just blows through their brake marker. If they're actually close enough to get inside, I may loose a position but I'm still racing even if we swap paint, but usually I just get knocked for a loop and drop to the back. On the plus side, I did manage to drop my Q to a 1:33.14 and get another pole! I have to say I was dissapointed, though...heading towards start/finish I thought I might have my first 32. Still getting my best laps from the Mazda out of the cars I have. Got the gr3 Ford gt(LM?) and tried it. Handfull of laps and the best I could do was a low (ish) 34, though it feels fast. Easy to drive without TC though. The Mazda likes to break loose when the turbo kicks.

Out of 5 races on Interlagos, I got disconnected from 2 - I was on pole on the one and on 2nd on the other, great servers. .... and no - it's not from my internet.

Welcome to my world. All I've been trying to do is get my SR up to S - but even more importantly, try and avoid it becoming C. I had one race where I almost had a clean race, but for one hard hit in the rear ... my SR went down by one point. Heck ...

I did have some fun though with one driver - we met over 4 races. I had six, I think he raced all evening. I changed to the Mustang because its very easy to drive out of corners. We are both mid "B" drivers I reckon. He was 0.016 seconds faster than me in qualifying. I passed him cleanly in the first race, passed someone else who later took revenge and I ended up behind both drivers ... next two races we met he beat me by less than a 10th in both races ... in the second he had swapped to a Bug ( a bit of a cheat car IMO but then again so is the Mustang which he had tried too). So I came back later and did some qualifying and then was faster than him - I came second, he came 5th. Sweet ... I got hardly any points but Geeh it was funning turning the tables on him by simply out qualifying him.

I wish I knew how to text - I need to be able to thank people in the game, and reply to them. Can Anyone help me with how to text people after the game?

I’m not sure what your using for a controller/wheel but on my DFGT(which the game thinks is a G29 I believe) I press the Square button in the post race menu and it brings up the text/message window, then you can send/reply to messages. :)

I did quite a few Race C's this week, some good and some bad. Perhaps the worst moment, besides the 3 races where I got punted, was when I overtook a guy for first place on the last lap and got disconnected coming out of the final turn while I had a 1.5s lead. I won several races here this week, but losing that one stung the most because it was supposed to be my revenge. Beating Group C cars in something slower is very satisfying, but getting disconnected on the final turn of the final lap is pretty much the inverse of that feeling.

Also, losing thousands of DR for that one "loss" and only gaining 100 points or even less for winning in a top lobby is still frustrating. In the big picture, my DR score doesn't really matter, but I would like to at least stay in the top split lobbies for FIA races. I really do miss having the Central and South Americans in my region. Lots of A+ drivers I no longer have access to. Guess I just "gotta git gud" as they say.

Either way, any racing is good racing, and I had more free time this week than I first thought I would. Thanks to all those I met on track, see you guys again soon.

Also, if you're up for a good laugh and some solid entertainment, check @cyclingjudoka youtube channel for his latest post: GT Sport - Fun Races with Friends. He hosted 3 ridiculous races that were mostly filled with super fast guys racing terrible combos...boost and slipstream were maxed, so it's eventful to say the least! Had a great time racing that way for a change and it's pretty hilarious to watch, especially the Mini Coopers at Fisherman's Ranch, lol.
