Ugh, Maggiore reverse is such a tricky circuit to drive, especially in the 911, which seems to want to spin out all the time. Maybe it’ll grow on me as I drive it more, but I personally feel way more comfortable with the forward version. I find turn 1 to be especially odd, I feel like I’m losing a lot of speed through there.

I know what you mean but once you figure out ur brake n turn in points you can use your knowledge of the forward course and pull those same speeds at most corners.
Like the first corner you can take alot faster than you think as long as you turn in hard enough to the apex that you should be able to to exit above 160km/h. takes some time and is easy to over shoot. But satisfying once you figure it out.

4 races later back in the Huracan. Yep, it's easier to avoid people with the extra speed and grip with a pit stop. However after 4 races I've only gained 5 SR to 70. There are some D/A drivers in each race that are playing demo derby, not braking for T1 at all, wall riding knocking everyone out of the way. Then trying to hit other people into the wall when they try to pass. One of them had 42 sec of penalties already when I passed him. (I was slightly too fast for him so his knockout attempt only hit cones and wall) And what does the game do, give them a blue A at the end...

Next race, the wall rider is back. Driving from the back is all about memorizing patterns so I'm prepared this time. He takes out a couple of cars in front of me and actually gets ahead with wall riding. He continues to ram people yet I soon find a gap in his demo derby and fly through. This time I pit in lap 4 so I don't get behind him again. I finish 2nd, with the fastest lap, my fastest yet 2:07.567 and a measly +4 SR. The wall rider either quit or got DQ.

Gr3 at Maggiore (?) Ferrari is an animal. I'm faster in the mustang but using the ferrari is much more exciting! Also I refuse to use a 911 like everyone else
I am using the Hyundai, found it much easier to drive quickly than the 911.

Typical, I've been waiting so long for another go at Maggiore Reverse on the Dailies and it arrives when I'm away for Christmas!!

I get such a buzz coming around that opening blind right hander and into the first sector!

Enjoy lads.

Daily Race C, 15:00 Room
Car Used: Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport '16
Strategy: No Stop (7S)

Initially qualified 2nd, then the polesitter disconnected, so I start on pole. Race starts and the new highest placed Huracán used the slipstream and the speed of said car to pass me on the run into T1. Into T1 we go and I decided to slot myself on his tail to conserve my Soft tyres as he was also doing the No Stop strategy but with Mediums to chew through 7 Laps. Behind me, a Red Bull Huracán divebombed into an orange Huracán, presumably due to having missed the braking zone. I sat behind the Huracán's tail as an SLS catches up to us and passed me into T1 on Lap 2 after a 3-wide moment down the straight. The SLS had an issue coming out of the chicane under the bridge on the flowing section, so he decided to drop back. Then into the hairpin I decided to go up the inside of the Huracán, allowing myself to take the lead, but then I let the Huracán past to avoid any more SR downs after a bit of unintentional bump drafting caused me to lose some gained SR, and this is where the SLS gets boneheaded as he went into the pits switching into Hards and refuelled to 100%, which is just unnecessary and costly to do, as he dropped from 3rd to 10th out of the pits, only to be passed by a WRX to drop said SLS into 11th. More tyre conservation ensues as I decided to stay behind the Huracán and occasionally overtaking him out of the hairpin and it repeats until much later in the race where I overtook him out of the hairpin, but then apparently his Huracán on Mediums apparently gave up despite being healthy-looking according to his tyre life compared to mine and I ended up leading the entirety of the final lap when a Cayman on worn Softs are much better than a Huracán on worn Mediums as I walked away with my 36th SM win.

Here's a tyre life comparison between my Cayman and the Huracán.

it's a great circuit once you get into your groove, struggled with it at first but last night really clicked.

I just realized I passed the 5000 races finished last night.
Sport Mode Races 5213 | Finished: 5005 (5005*)

This was my 5000th race result

Two races later however I got this result :)
fxbd.jpg

Won with a margin of 0.040 sec.

That put me back in SR.S. I'm still working on getting back to max SR. I was up early again this morning and the backfield is rough. It doesn't help DR.D can hit you with impunity while DR.A gets SR deducted. I'll get there eventually 1 to 4 points per race... SR 88 now.

I know race A is a bit dull but if you just want to get SR up after Race C its not bad, a clean race gives +10 SR, I found it useful to avoid my usual reset when doing a race I enjoy [C] but isn't always good for your safety rating. Think I have been SR S, A, B and C so far this week.

Well, I had 2 terrible B races last night. Had the typical slammers and got spun in each, so I decided to try C. Started 8th with Q at 2:10.2xx. Pole was a low 2:08 and 2nd thru 7th were in the 2:09's tangled with a lambo in T1 and even though he used me as a berm, I got an orange SR flag. He got 5 seconds. Has a weaving front driver trying to take me out on L2 but he caught the bridge in the curvy part and i swept by. That gave me P4. I hung with P3 for a couple of laps, actually drafted by at one point but he got back by. We both pitted on L4 and I couldn't find the draft after that. I chased but slowly dropped back till the end. Finished 4th with 5 clean laps, 11 seconds back on the winner. Only me and 1st and 3rd got no penalties and finished blue. Concidering the Q times of the podium finishers, I'm pretty happy, though I would have liked more SR points. Winner was in the Cayman and the other 2 in lambo's.

Just did race C and lined up in 15th, directly behind Turismo Lester, who also didn't qualify. After the 2nd turn I never saw him again. He won the race with a 9 second gap. Pretty damn impressive.

Although, I'm pretty sure my 8th place finish put the fear of god into him. :nervous:

Lost almost 3000 DR yesterday on 2 tries at Race B.

This track is killing me but I just can't stop myself. I feel pretty good on it but just can't put 4 laps together when it counts.

Also I noticed today that every race I've done since the region split has been blue SR. I feel the difference. 👍

These Porsche drivers in the NA B race at Maggiore are god awful. One divebombs me into the penultimate slow left and runs into the guy in front in the process, then spins me coming into the last corner two laps later. I recover, and the Porsche behind me rams me off the road at the banked slow corner. One spins ahead of us, and admittedly I came from a long way back into the stadium(?) corner, i was side by side with him before he even transitioned from braking to turning in. And then he tries to bump me off at the next corner.

After looking at the replay, I just realized I reported the wrong one, too.

Temporary set back, why won't you ghost??? What are these physics???

4 sec penalty and red S for hitting that... 91 SR, I will get there!

And if you'd braked hard as no doubt some will suggest the player(s) behind probably would've just rear ended you. This track is an SR killer.

Dont worry, Reports are ignored.

Well I just did a 56.1, so I must have something figured out. Honestly, the only two corners on the track that feel the same as the forward course for me are the two hairpins. Both layouts have the same kinds of corners, but it feels like the overall flow of the track is very different. I do agree that it is very satisfying to get it right, that’s true of both layouts. :D

I get what you're saying about physics. The first time I watched I thought he did the double wall bounce (why no ghost??) but after watching more, it's like he bounced off of the left wall, and an invisible car plowed through on the right and knocked him right in front of you. His front end literally slid sideways in a 180.

I think I'm gonna run the Cayman tonight and see if I can better my Q in race C. I watched a vid by TheKie25 and he did 2:05.5in the vid in that car, so I have something to gauge by. I don't think his brake, turn in points would work with the Jag. Who knows, if I can gain a second or so, and do a no-stop, maybe I can get a podium on this track.

Race C is fun in the Cayman, running a no stopper on mediums.

The only downside for me being a B/S driver is coming up against a myriad of A/S drivers in these races. One more S at the end would describe exactly how 98% of them 'race'.

I do have to say I'm getting sick of being hit or used as a berm, and I get penalized instead of the instigator.

^^^^^ Had an A/S driver, on the last lap try to overtake at the esses under the bridge. They ram me into the barrier and I get the 5 second penalty!!!

Why not just wait until AFTER that section and then complete the pass. Safely.

Sadly, it's the same ol', same ol' that a driver has to get past immediately.

Race craft..........................LOL.

Where are you finding a myriad of A/S drivers in race C, I see more D/S drivers than A/S nowadays  The Cayman is dangerous, it had my SR drop on average as it seems to attract other cars. It had me as far down as 65, now back to 99 SR in the Huracan. A no stop has it dangers as well since a car on fresh softs can wait to brake until past the 100 marker at 80 or so. The worst thing some people do is over take a car coming from the pit at the last second and throw the car in front of them to start braking just after the 150 mark.

But yes there are plenty A/SS drivers around. That's why I start behind, by the time I get to them they already have penalties and use more caution not to lose more SR

Yes there is something wrong with the penalty system atm. I have been bumped into walls as well and gotten the 5 sec wall contact penalty while the car that hit me went free. Most of the time it gets it right, yet I have gotten that 5 sec under the bridge the same way.

@Sven Jurgens, every NA Race C this week for me has been a real mixed bag of ratings, but I'm always lumped in races with at least 2 S/S, 3 or 4 A/S, 6 or 7 B/S, and then C/S & D/S make up the rest.

I've had more success with the Cayman since switching a few days ago (started the week flopping between the Viper and Corvette), and have generally not had any bad races, but anytime I'm near an A/S driver.................

I'm taking note of drivers during the race who are ahead of me and who pit for fresher tires, so when they catch me up, I ain't gonna slow them down and make a point to move over at a safe spot. 8/10 races recognise this, the others just don't car and carry on as if I'm not there.

My race pace on mediums, no stopping isn't slow. Fastest lap is usually low 10's, and last 2 laps are usually in the mid 13's.

It's not like I'm a moving chicane!

@GTP_TO Blue A car pitting in lap 4 will easily do a low 2:09 in the last lap. Lap 6 is usually my fastest lap, 2:07.4 new record for me today. It's a challenge to make up the 10 sec you lose in the pit and all that speed advantage is in the curvy section. Yet that's no excuse to make contact, on fresh tires you have all the options, which is why I switched back to one stop. It's much harder to evade on worn tires. I rather keep my fate in my own hands as much as possible.

I do think reporting actually does something. I have seen bad offenders, that I reported in an earlier race, disappear after hitting other cars during races. Looks a lot like a DQ. The game still let's some people finish with 42 sec in penalties, add a penalty zone at the start of the straight and the race would be completely different. So annoying when people serve a penalty right before T1 to then get stuck behind them for the curvy section.

Just had the guy in 2nd place stop before the line and just pull across the start finish line causing a yellow flag.

Why would someone do that ?
