I did a race without qualifying first, got 2nd with clean race bonus, 3.8 seconds behind an alien. Great race, exciting, leading for a lap until the one stop alien on softs caught back up.

Then I qualified, put 5 laps in, second lap was the best at 3::02.876 The rest of the laps were above 3:03.

First race with qualifying I started on pole, broke away from the pack before the straight, got the fastest lap and somehow inexplicably got a 3.8 sec penalty, I guess for nicking an apex somewhere. I've never had that high of a shortcut penalty all week! That penalty cost me the race, allowing the trailing Mazda to overtake me at the line with less than 0.3 sec, the same one I easily beat in my earlier race. Boring and awful race.

Second attempt, pole again, fastest lap again, penalty again ugh, yet the Mazda got held up I guess and I won with 8 sec lead. 5 laps driving up front, hopefully some fast people will wake up soon!

Third race, another pole, didn't break away on the straight so I went into Mulsanne side by side as the R92CP speed limit dictates. The car on the outside tried to out brake me and overshot the corner. That was all the excitement for that race. Won with 8 sec lead again and clean race bonus this time. No sneaky penalties. Fastest lap went to a one stop.

Ahh, starting 3rd next. Now let's see what happens. 2 SR.A drivers in front of me, SR.B behind hmm. I guess I can expect some contact.

And there was, some. Starting 3rd is a bit of a dud, first and second ran away at first. I enter the straight with 4th on my tail. We speed each other up and go side by side at 378 kph towards Mulsanne catching up with first and second. I out brake 4th and 2nd who brakes early to make a contact free pass through Mulsanne.
Prior second drafts back up to Indianapolis and won't conceed where I have the racing line and am ahead. He rubs a bit, I hold on and he passes. Fine let's watch them battle it out first.
I don't have to wait long, next lap one takes out the other in Arnage and I'm chasing down the rammer. This one is odd. He's ghosted for half the race, penalty very slowly counting down without losing speed, however he still cuts many corners to stay ahead racking up more penalties.
Despite his corner cutting I catch him in lap 4 on the straight, pass him, he drafts back up to Indianapolis. He tries to the same thing as in lap one yet turns himself into a missile which I know how to avoid :) That's all she wrote, another win by 7 sec margin.

Time for a break, more racing later today.

And so the sun sets on the circuit that dare not speak it's name. It's been a wild ride, but I actually survived it. Final race for the night I started P7/13 with the McLaren. The grid was a mix of DR from A - D and SR from S-D. There were some brave souls who went outside of the R92 box. Behind me I had another McLaren followed by a Hyundai.

The usual annoying mid chicane start and I'm hanging with the R92s... till we passed the first chicane on Mulsanne when the R92 freight train pulled away . Again when I got to the Mulsanne Corner using my usual braking point nothing happened. I wasn't close enough to anyone to have gained speed from drafting. I went into the sand and came out in P10 with an R92 behind me. He passed me before the 3rd bend on Golf ... and slammed into the fence at Indianapolis .

I plugged away and managed to get back up to P7 by the second lap. Behind me I had the Hyundai sniffing my arse for the rest of the race, more or less. He had at least 5 opportunities to pass if he took a racing line, but instead kept following my crappy lines which weren't racing lines but "ohcrapohcrapohcrap! please stay on the track! please stay on the track!" lines :scared:. He tapped me twice with no orange SR then gave me a shunt at Dunlop that sent me off and outside track limits. Orange SR and a time penalty for that, but I stayed in front. I usually pull a 1.5s gap down Mulsanne, but he makes it up on a few key corners. I caught up to P5/6 briefly because they pitted for tyres, but they took off again down the strait .

I held off the Hyundai to finish P7. I finished with blue SR, the Hyundai was red. The guy who started P4 was in quite a few of my races since they brought in Oceania. He won.

SR 99, DR up another 200 :dopey:. Day 3 and I'm still travelling the DR/C road :D.

I only managed to get in 5 races yesterday, two of them were my first FIA races which were pretty cool, I spent a bunch of time practicing for those and had a few things to do around the house so I didn’t get in many other races yesterday. The last two races of the day included both @Sven Jurgens and @Winnie847 which was also pretty cool, it’s always nice to race with fellow members from here. I had two good clean runs in the R92 and finished 5th both races for a couple nice DR gains to end the day while @Winnie847 went on to win both races and @Sven Jurgens nearly caught me in both races, the second race he was right behind me and starting to close the gap by the end. It was a fun night of racing for sure, if there was anyone else in those last two races I apologize, I didn’t recognize any of the other PSN names in the races. :)

I actually got my C time down to 3:02.499 last night after racing too. :)

Great start to your FIA path Bro. Save these replays Id love to watch that action.

I'm in practice before I go in. Don't know the highway track so learning it a bit. Still weak qualifying time of 1:38 finding my braking markers and learning the track.

I've not run any GR1 cars yet so will have to practice for Le Sarthe and see if my GT6 markers are still useable or even there in GTS.

I figures get good in GR3 before going into GR1

It was nice to finally meet you on the track bud, you've risen quickly through the ranks so I'm sure I'll be seeing a lot more of you in the SR99 lobbies. Good races last night and good job on the improved qualy time.

Also, welcome to FIA competition! If you're anything like me, over time you'll find that these races are where the real fun is at. Tire and fuel strategies, more laps, true qualifying period....everything about these races is more exciting and interesting. They are about as close to real racing as you can get in this game, in my opinion. Also the matchmaking is much better because of the level of participation, so it's possible to have entire lobbies full of A and A+ drivers. It used to be possible to have a lobby with all A+ but that's pretty unlikely now due to the region split.

See you soon!

Where do I start?
Nice qual time Pigems! I didn’t race last night but very late I practiced some before bed. I managed 03.
So today I went in country for a last try.
I was a bit surprised not to see any known sharks...
Anyhoo went soft soft...I lost a spot lap one on the shorter straight and followed for almost a lap and a half before tightening the noose. With full caffeine intake I finally had some flow.
My opponent cracked by not getting setup for the second slow right and I walked out on him!
The next car was not far ahead but alas I couldnt catch. He had about 1-1.5 on me last sector.
This was my tires just after finish...Nursed in last sector. Would have been easy to pass haha.

But I did manage second after starting second...

A fine way to end it...SR 99...plus 1100 on the other...

Stay thirsty my friends

Not a bad morning of racing. 4 races, 3 podiums. First I started P2 on my new Q time of 1:33.556, leader was at a 33.3xx, P3 was a 33.6xx and nobody else was within .5 sec. I figured if we could start clean we could all get away. P3 was aggressive and barged his way through on T1, but a light tap on the wall and a little speed is all it cost me. I was already threatening him into the hairpin, he went wide and I never saw him again. Chased P1 down, but had a 5 second penalty from the T1 hit, so I finished 2 seconds back in second.
Next 2 races were fun. Started 6th in both, got 2 3rds but one should have been a second. I got mugged on the final lap going into the last right before the chicane. Hit on the inside, outside, tapped the wall, one got through. Apologies after, not big deal. I got the clean race bonus. I still can't figure how that works. Also fastest lap. The last podium I got held up early, but got into P3 by lap 3. Thought I might get fastest lap with the 1:33.355 I put down, but the winner did a 33.2.
Last race I had a feeling it would be trouble. Pole was a 32.9. I was gridded 8th with my 33.556 and everyone from 2nd through 9th was between 33.2 and 33.6. It actually started okay for me. I saw penaly flags ahead, but I managed to get to 6th due to the lap 1 carnage at the hairpin. By lap 3 I was all over P4 and 5, and they were picking up penalties. Got by them both coming out of the chicane...they put each other into the wall going into the right hander and I slid through on the inside. Thought I would comfortably finish 4th, but I accidently hit my paddle and knocked it into 3rd coming out of the hairpin...killed my drive and they were close, but not close enough, by the chicane. Took my usual line into the chicane and as I was clipping the second apex, I'm smashed into the barrier by the Vette that was .7 back coming in. Now I'm facing the wrong way, waiting for a reset, and when I do, I get that stuck in neutral thing (what is that?), everyone flies by and I finish 12th.
All in all, not bad. DR is about 20k, and SR just made A. First blue A I've seen in a while.

Hi gang ! I don't know if it's the right place to talk about this ..... kinda new to this game. I've been playing for about 2 months, rating is at D/B, did most of the driving school, challenges and circuit experience ..... anyway .... i started to try online racing in the weekly races. In the B race at tokyo, yesterday during a race, i guess due to a server issue, i suddenly found myself in first place .... magically i mean .... and got sent back to the opening page right after .... a few minutes after, tried to log in a race. As soon as I saw the list of players (the starting grid) ....sent back to the opening page again (race entry page). Same thing happened again an hour ago. And it doesn't seem to be a connection problem. My connection is wired and connection test is ok. Anyone else have experienced this ? Is the problem on my side ?

What your talking about happens very often. Usually once you get your first disconnect if you don’t restart your system it will keep happening again. Restart and you should be good to go. (I think it works about 80% of the time, all the time). Good luck and welcome to GTPlanet.

Same issues here, I close the game and reopen .It sucks cuz you wait 20min or 30min to get in just to get bumped out and have to wait another 20min to 30min for the next race.

Weekends seem to be more derby than racing in the one make race, or this new to me thing I've seen all weekend... Pause Saves, Pause Braking & Pause Blocking crazy cheap stuff its unreal. Multiple cars doing it, couldn't get in a lobby I didnt recognize offenders in the line up so I exited before the race & stopped playing.

I never heard of this crazy Pause technique. Forger bogus penalties for crap drivers taking out clean ones, they protect themselves and hot lap using the pause button straight up cheaters, not dirty, cheaters....

I did a few C races this morning, before work. The goal was to raise my SR up from 74 before the week ends.
The first 3 were pretty good (blue ratings at the end of them all).

The last one was going good, for a while. On the final lap, I was battling 2 Nissans for second place, because first place had disappeared beyond the horizon early on. I liked my chances because my Mazda eats em up on corner exits on laps 4 and 5, when their rear tires are shot. I hung back a little bit and waited for the 2 guys ahead to knock each other out.

I guess I wasn't far enough back, because I caught too much of their draft heading into Indy, and to make a long story, short: I ended up having to use my reverse. :banghead: Never a good sign. .....I did not get 2nd place.

At least I ended up with SR in the 80's. :)

Well, seems like tomorrow's races will be a surprise, since kudosprime's events section is not working :)

This was posted earlier, this week;

Next week, Dragon trail Seaside race A onemake, one lap with the fiat 500, rev limited for most of the race
Then lets add Northern isle speedway GR.3 for race B.
And BB raceway GR.4 for the daily C.

It may have been a joke. I'm not really sure.

OMG, I do hope it is a joke cause this selection is just ****. Seems highly unlikely to have two ovals for B and C but who knows - PD works in mysterious ways

No stop. Lol where is the pit entry?
I went o tcs abs weak bb 2 rear. Times were like 12 7 10 11 and 17 I think...So I doubt it’s a wise move. I just figured if I had to I’d pit...

Wow man, well done! I think my mediums looked about as worn as your softs, very impressive. I must be terrible at tire-saving, lol.

I lost a couple races to a real fast guy who was using softs without stopping and his rear tires were literally 100% red by the end. I started using softs up front and mediums on the rear after I saw that, and I could still barely manage the last lap. I was pulling low 3:04's on my best laps. If I remember correctly, the lap times on my better races were something like 3:08, 3:04, 3:07, 3:09, 3:12, bringing total time to ~15:41 for the better few of my wins. One race I pulled a 15:39 and I think that was my best.

edit: pit lane starts on the short straight after the the Corvette Curves, right before the first Ford Chicane. Instead of turning slight left into the Ford Chicane, you veer to the right and enter the pits. There's a chicane on pit lane right before entering the pits too, so be careful when you actually do use it.

Tried RM/RH on the R92CP last night but didn't really work. It's better to drive in the first 2 laps but the understeer kills it in the end. Very frustrating set of races for me as the AU/NZ aliens are all back from the holidays it seems. A couple of best of the rest finishes but the top step of the podium remains elusive after 4 races in Tokyo/Sarthe. Oh well, I think that's the close of the week for me. Hopefully next week's combo is better and a lot more conducive to clean racing (and reasonable penalties).

It does look like a pretty hideous lineup of races. I wouldn't put it past them, though.
The more I think about it, the more I think he was just kidding.

He'll show up here sooner or later, and set the record straight. Yo, @Sven Jurgens !

Its obviously a joke. We will see tomorrow. Maybe the daily races are back? Last time it changed to weekly kudosprime wasn't working either.

I know some of you miss the daily races. I'm liking the weekly. It takes me a while to learn a new track, and even longer to get up to speed. I would never get to race if the tracks changed every day. I guess, in time, I would get a handle on most of the tracks, but right now it's all new. I feel like I'm just starting to get this Tokyo track down, now the week is over. I may not have time to get that 32 I was hoping for.

I wouldn't mind a real endurace race, where you need to take at least 1 pit stop, and can be competitive with different cars and strategies. Total race time in the 30-35 minute range would be good.

From dailies to weeklies to monthlies?

We had that in GT5 prologue!

What made it even worse was that there were only 3 tracks worth racing (High speed ring, Fuji & Suzuka) as Eiger was a nightmare and Daytona road hardly ever used.

Then what made that even worse, the 3 classes we had to choose from - 2 of those classes had hugely overpowered 'cheat cars'.

This went on for 4+ years....

And people are moaning about weekly races in GT Sport :boggled: and the other manufacturer series, plus private lobbies....

Compared to prologue, we're living the dream right now..... I'd love to see what the (weekly races) moaners would do if they had to endure 'prologue' style events for 6 months

I don't kid, Kaz tweeted me personally. He said they were looking into adding a daily D option to spice things up. Streets of Willow springs with a random GR.X onemake each race would be first week's experiment. The next car will be revealed when race entry opens giving everyone 15 minutes to qualify.
