I have to ask, is there a link or tutorial on how to save a race playback to YouTube from the PS4/GTS? Then I’d be able to share it in GTPlanet or view on my iPad.

How is this done? Not that I have tons of stuff to post...

I ran some laps in the A race. Found getting into the 1:08's pretty easy...1:07's not so much. Maybe 20 laps, lots of 08.2's and a best of 1:08.07x. Ran some laps for the C race...much harder. Couldn't break 1:09. Still can't figure out the B race. I don't think I've gotten below a 1:41. No Q, but I've raced there 3 times. Last one cost me my SR-S. Started 15 of 15, and 14th had a 1:46 Q time. Went by him after the chicane, and he punted me in the hairpin. Caught up and made a clean pass in the uphill esses, and he knocked me off going into the right handers. After a few more encounters, and 2 orange flags, I got by and pulled 13 seconds in the last 2 laps, 4 seconds behind 13th. Time to work back up to S. At least I still have 78 points to build on. Might have to run the A race, since it seems to be the only place I'm competitive this week so far. Don't know if SR will benefit, though. I did get to take a roll in the Fiat the first time through T1.
1:41 is my Q time. That said, you should start around mid field. Not bad really. You don’t want to find yourself in the back of the pack there. The racing last night was very clean in the front but crazy behind us from 9th on down. So take a shot at B with your Q time.

I went into Tsukuba and again got taken out early a bit, not off track, but the car in front of me failed to start and I rear ended it before getting assasinated by kamikazes down to maybe tenth in the first lap.
I was slapped with multiple orange arrows...
I just started picking off cars and finding my 09 rhythm...
I finished up a spot into fourth. Sr recovered.
Mission accomplished.
I tried another gr4 tonight for b. I am not going to let a track get me down. I am gonna put in a bit more time on trying to get a bit faster before entering again... I do like the Honda tho.
I am satisfied with my night already. Back to 99 that’s my key.

I've been racing all day on DR Gardens. I'm actually starting to enjoy the track, it just needed some brute force experience. My DR graph however, looks like DR reset. I've driven all the GR.4 cars, never used the same car in a row, sort of random order to keep it interesting. Actually I did use the Ferrari twice in a row as it still had heavy wet tires on from my stunt driving on Tokyo :banghead: 1:47 best lap with heavy wets while trying to get the pit crew to provide service. They ignored me, bastards were having lunch.

Lap 1 to quickly figure out how the car handles then try to get in the rhythm by lap 3 and pass some cars. It's not a good strategy to get fast at all, just having fun. My best finish so far was 6th in the Lexus and I did once get the fastest lap in the GT-R. I'm down to 15K DR currently, still getting matched with the 1:38 crowd on pole.

The backfield is 'interesting' in the gardens, so many places to stick a nose in to bump pass. The game upped the ante as well, giving me a standing start in one of my races. Just sitting there all by myself waiting for the timer, auto drive not working. Sure give everyone a 10 sec head start as well...

Now if only I had written down my best lap times with each car so I would know which ones to try more... Oh well. I wish it had a random option for the car. Half the time I had already forgotten which car I picked when the race started, can't find out either until the finish in bumper cam. Driving unknown, fun.

Seems like you are setting yourself up for a raw deal with those contrived hurdles. Why not keep it simple: get rid of the driving aids to crank up the difficulty; pick a couple of viable cars and stick to them; set a qualifying time that puts you at least in the middle of the pack and go from there.

I got this one Sven

... @Sven Jurgens "...but...where's the fun in that?"

'bout right?

Attacked the chicane in sector 1 at the Gardens, and got my Q down to 1:38.801 I think. Only good enough for 11/16. Finished 9th. DR down a couple hundred. Not sure where it'll be at by night's end, but it's gonna be a long one. See you guys on the track!

Is getting disconnected from the lobby once qualifying finishes a normal thing? I just started playing again a couple days ago, I’ve done probably 10 sport races no problem. This evening, I did Race C once, but when I tried to do it again, I DC’d from the lobby at the screen where the driver is sitting in the garage. I signed up for Race B, waited through qualifying, and then DC’d at the same spot.

Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Yup! Restart the game (not the console) every 2 or 3 races.

Couldn’t race yesterday as I was in pain, but I raced daily a today and had some epic, close quarters battles.
I’ve done 6, won 5. One of my favourite combinations of races I think. Radically different from gr1, yet still similar in some ways. Only gained not even 200 dr though.
I then did some hotlaps for race c. The 86 is such a dream to drive with the s(&)m tyres. Set a decent lap too, though I can still do better. Was just a test anyhow.
More races will be done as the week goes on.

There may be other options depending on how people setup their PS4, but this is my understanding and way of doing it.

Uploading to Youtube is done via video clips found in the "Capture Gallery" on the PS4's main menu.
So you need to get your game-play video there.
If you have a saved replay in GT Sport you wish to share, then playing the video and recording it is a way to get that video to the Capture Gallery.

Double pressing the Share button begins video recording, and double pressing the Share button ends video recording.
So, in GT Sport, play the saved replay and record it.
This video recording will be exactly as you see it on screen (meaning during recording you can change car views, turn on or off race data, view a different car, etc.) and is saved in the Capture Gallery.
(Note: Turn off HDR in the settings before you start recording to avoid over-saturated colours in the saved video clip)

After that, on the PS4 main menu, go to the Capture Gallery.
Highlighting the video clip and pressing the Share button will allow you to upload to Youtube.
Or you can highlight the video clip and press the Options button which will allow you to "Trim" or "Edit in Sharefactory" before uploading.

*Edit*
I'll also add this.
There may be times when something happens during game-play that you want to share, but you are unable to "save" in GT Sport and then play back.
For example, on track in a lobby but not actually racing to allow a race save.

The PS4 is continuously recording, and will always hold the last 15mins of game-play.
At any time, pressing the Share button once (not double pressed as per before) will allow you to "Save Video Clip".
This video clip will be a recording of the last 15mins of game-play as seen on screen (meaning you can't manipulate it as per before) and will be saved in the Capture Gallery.

Anyone try the NSX? I like it. Yes I use ASM and TCS in it.
It makes gardens more fun for me right now and when I get better entering the goofy right hand triple apex it might be dangerous enough. It craves the corners well and is pretty easy with the tcs 3 aids on.
Plus being right hand drive from in car you can see much better.

what is the brake cheat?

i'm enjoying race a and doing well on it. the two hairpins, momentum and consistency are key.
There is a longstanding, and well documented, bug which works with lower-powered cars. By permanently applying a very small amount of brake, the car will have increased grip round corners.

Have a look at some of the faster guys' replays, and you will see their brake bar constantly flickering!

Late to last weeks daily race, only did 2ish races, should have been more but those races are tough and requires all my attention.. yeah excuses.. anyway, it was fun, my last race was done early, very few online, and my 1:51:XXX put at the back, as usual i try to be clean and consistent and stay on the track. I got up to 13 pretty fast, but the guy with the pole had some trouble (he crashed and ended up with unwanted pitstop!" and here he is catching up from 14th!

And crashing me out...

No penalty because he waited..

He gets busy on the last 2 laps, "if there is a gap i go for it or make sure there is a gap"

Here he "passes" me again, "excuse me, this corner is mine, would you please move the **** away"

Final lap, so you gotta make up those places, "ohh so you brake so that you do not hit the car in front of you? how stupid, here let me show you how it is done"

No Penalties afaik, i understand the frustration of being behind slow cars, but everyone else on that track is using real life time racing and they have just as much right to the race and their position than the fastest guy. If anything the guy that is faster and comes from behind by his own mistakes should be absolutely certain that he isn't putting his bad luck on others..

It's usually the first car I use. Unfortunately it's down on power these days so not as quick. Haven't done any races yet but managed to go 3 tenths quicker in the Ferrari

Was that the 23.50 running of Daily B in EMEA? The Spanish guy in the Alfa was pure muck. No idea how he's got SR S. He was literally swinging into me to try and get me off the track. I think I qualified in 6th or 7th. T4 was a frag fests so I hung back to let everyone else drive off the track and made up places on the exit (IIRC). Spanish Alfa guy was in front of me, beside me, behind me, swearving, braking...I was in a Megane and knew if I got him on the back straight under the bridge then on the home straight I'd make a decent lead. Even better, he drove himself off into a wall near the pit lane. I finished 3rd and enjoyed the 2nd half of the race when I got some space and things settled but that start was filthy.

2 races last night finishing 3rd and then 2nd in Daily B did get me 2,000 DR points so happy with the results. Also managed my best time...better even than my qualifying time, on the 2nd race. Got pipped on the last lap for fastest lap by the race leader though.

Wonder if this is the same guy i was racing similar times last night (well just before) spanish in an alfa and was swinging all over knocking people all over the place.

@VolkswagenX: Damn you!:banghead: I'm busy this weekend and not sure I'll get to drive much so now I've go to stay up late tonight trying to beat that.:D Well done. You still in the Porsche?

@Majson83: Sounds like him. DR C race. He had speed but was all over the place. If you tried to pass him the side swipe absolutely intentional and if he was ahead the brake checking was blatant. He was trying so hard to hit everyone else he drove himself off the track. You really have to grin and bare that stuff. Let them on and either crash or take someone else out. It took a lot of patience on my side not to give him the same crap he was handing out and just put him into a wall.

Def sounds like the same guy, had the same issue, brake checking if infront, slamming into side when next to, ramming when behind, like you said he was quick but not consistent.

End of 2nd race with him he tried to side swipe me, i nudged him back he ended up in wall, wrong of me but satisfying none the less :D

I'm sure you can beat my time:cheers:. That time was in the Porsche. I know I said I would switch over but the game tells me my optimal time in the Porsche is .8 quicker. I'll be happy with .3 of and do more racing this week (Spend to much time in qualifying last week). I get some extra play time this week because I have to recover from surgery and am not allowed to go to work (I feel great):D.

This week the daily races are a disappointing selection with no option to really get your teeth into, none require a pit stop or fuel control and none offer a particularly challenging race. This means my usual strategy of fighting through the field just isn't enough and as I struggle to improve my qualifying pace, it makes races pointless for this week, however I'll continue to have a go and get track experience.

In my stream, with a 1:39 lap I start from the back row, make up positions up to 10th and despite overtaking much faster competitors who have gone faster than I ever will, I still get a DR down which is somewhat disheartening. I have since improved to a 1:38 lap but that will barely be high enough for a 10th place grid slot. At times like this I wonder if it better to wait a few weeks till there's a daily race I can be competitive at before racing so as not to damage my DR rank before the next FIA event.

The 2nd race I did he wasn't there but there were 3 Spanish in the to 5 with me stuck in the middle of them in 3rd place. As it turned out it was a great clean race. I took 2nd early and nearly had 1st but when I didn't pass him he started to get a rhythm and pulled away. I had 2 secs on 3rd but eventually a car that started 7th (ish) and was flying through the pack caught me and if anybody was slightly at fault in the whole race it was me. For an entire lap he was all over me so I had to go defensive. On T4 I was probably a little too cautious, keeping a very tight left line and slow entry to avoid the undertake. I think it threw him so wide, he lost time on the exit and he got caught by 4th. With them now fighting I escaped again to get 2nd over all. The reason I mention it is I thought to myself, "this guy is on GT Planet and will be complaining about some Irish guy with 6BK on the back of his car brake checking him." When I saw you post I figured that was the next thing you'd say. Anyhoo, not you (12.10 race). It wasn't brake check, just defensive driving and fair play on his part to allow me my line and not punt me.

I only race on the NA server, there's plenty people like that there as well. I hate it when you get drivers that don't know the dimensions of the car and try to get behind you too soon when you overtake. Nose against rear bumper, it could be a dirty attempt at pit manoever, looks more like incompetence. Then when they spin themselves out on your rear bumper, you get a penalty!

And that swerving, especially in corners. The apex is not on the outside with corner exit on the inside :banghead:

In attempt to get my SR up and just trying to finish races I am now dropping in DR rapidly. I have four races now in a row where a dive bomber just ruins my race and puts me at the back of the field. I leave the corner wide open and they still manage to take me out:(

At least I'm at almost SR 99 (but almost back to DR D).

Well, the idea is the fun is in the challenge and progressive improvement. Racing with no aids and trying to tackle mid-pack drivers instead of cruising with reckless backmarkers that don't help facilitate your progress.
I can't actually speak for @Sven Jurgens . I only know him from this forum, but "cruising with reckless backmarkers that don't help facilitate your progress" is not how I would describe what he does. He's not the fastest guy here, but I've seen him win many races from the back, often with a clean race bonus. When I see him in one of my races, I try to record it and always check out his race. I think he has some of the best racecraft I've seen, and his patients and consistency is top notch. I try to learn from everyone to increase my skill. I'm no alien, but I can run up front with a pretty fast crowd at the right track. I've never been able to gain 15 positions, though. I would say his progress is better than most. Just sayin'.;)
