I just got on a few minutes ago, I did 20 laps with the Fiat to get a new benchmark and managed a best lap of 1:07.510, the replay is uploading now. Now to see if the bug still works, I’ll report back shortly.

Side note, the new physics changes feel great, I feel like the car had way more grip and less prone to spin outs. I like it, I can’t wait to drive some faster cars lol. :)

Oh, what the 🤬?

The latest change to the servers is awful. Last 2 races I was on the South American server. 2 or 3 Brazilians have 5 bars, the rest of the room max 3 with a couple 1 bar connections in between. It's unplayable, lag bumps and punts all through the race, no car is stable on the road. I lost 11 SR in my last race from getting lag punted into the wall and getting a penalty for it. As well as constant lag bumps from behind. Of course the worst connections still get off free, jumping all over the place swiping cars off the track and ending with a blue S. At this point it would make more sense to go play on the European server.

Hopefully my next race will be on the NA server again or SR.A here I come. I was just turning my decline around, almost back to DR.B making it up to 4th, however getting lag punted around, back to 8.4K and 88 SR now. To fix lag, split the region. To fix low room entries, put the majority on the furthest server, way to go PD!

Ah, 3rd attempt, back on NA server. Mostly green connections.

Race a has been fun with the Latin American players. Had some good races with an Argentinean driver. Forgot how many races I did, but won three of them, and in total gained a little under 50 dr. Didn’t come in first every race, but the ones I didn’t win in, I came in second.
Saw @sturk0167 too

Oh thanks so much.

Better than using my Son's account details. Especially that he may not give me his details - which would annoy me quite a bit!!!!

I may have to give the game a miss for some time - I have had Carpal tunnel syndrome for some time and need to have the surgery - I was going to book the operation next week. And I had a suspected hernia - so I rolled up for an ultrasound to confirm the hernia, at a hospital with my surname on it (my forbears owned 2,000 acres where the hospital is now) and then during the ultrasound the lovely ultra sound lady got tense and nervous and then went off and got a doctor - and then half an hour later I was having a CT scan ( a rotary X-Ray machine - and they inject you with a yellow contrasting dye - Iodene - and I signed a form which stated one out of 250,000 die from the Iodene injection - not much comfort to me today from that form let me tell you).

But anyway, no hernia - and clearly, the iodine has not killed me - but now, they are very keen to take my appendix out - likely very soon indeed. So the game is going to suffer, darn it. Not that I've every been quick.

Incidentally I am not quick in the first sector - typically 1.294 or thereabouts - but my time is 1:38,8 and a combination of my 10 practice laps in the Alfa showed a potential 1:38.1, so i reckon the Alfa is pretty quick, although it doesn't like the chicane curbs IMO. Fun and easy to drive IMO.

Raced a few races tonight at Maggiore and spun the Alfa while coming second. Interestingly no appendix pain whatsoever when I am racing. Maybe I should do it a lot more often? I am now faster with TC off but it can be unforgiving if you touch that red stuff next to the Maggiore black top. I felt a bit slow and then I took out the Renault racy GR.4 car - not the fat Megane but the aero ground effect little beauty which is fun to drive. But I was a bit slower than the Alfa. The special Renault lacks power but sounds lovely and boy its fun to drive.

We are now back with Japan and the rest of Asia. Much much better - much deeper fields. It feels easier now too.

i just wish I knew when I lost tyre traction - why doesn't the game light up and show you when you have wheel slip when TC is turned off? Or vibrate the pedals or the wheel?? Any technique hints on how to recognise loss of drive wheel traction??

Edit: Anybody still having issues with disconnects after a few races?

Ok thanks. Guess I'll keep with the same regiment. Restart after every race .
I was testing the system, and went about 10 or 12 races before a disconnect. But, then after that, I went only 1 race before the next disconnect. :yuck:

Just had a weird start phenomenon on race c, I was doing practice until the countdown. Then pan away to the start of every race where you see everyone and then right after that it shows me behind my car like every start with the leaderboard session. No false start indication or redlights. My car is ghosting backwards and everyone starts going around me. Has anyone else experienced this yet?

Haven't seen that. Sounds like you left it in neutral. You're gonna wanna put it D when you have a race to do.

Didn't get to try the new update until late. Hopped in the Ferarri and started lapping for the B race. I definitely feel the difference in traction. 2nd lap I beat my best time, 3rd lap I did my first 41. Did a few more 41's, then a high 40. Switched to the Alfa and started knocking down 40's and did a 39.7, so I entered a race. Gridded 6th in front of a Magane (sp?). Wasn't happy about that, but kept him behind me for 2 laps while on the bumper of P5. He got by going into T1 then slowed me down. I made an error on lap 4 and let him get 2.6 seconds on me, but recovered and was about a second behind braking for the last 2 corners on the last lap. He had a 1.3 second penalty and slammed the brakes before the finish, I swerved around him...good theng because he un-ghosted right as I went by to take 5th. Finished up 1 position with a clean race bonus. Back to SR-S.

Well, I give up for the night. That was one frustrating night of racing. Either from extreme lag getting to race on the South American server or getting bump passed or punted off multiple times per race. It seems as if the North Americans have taken the excuse of the server join to drive dirty. I did have a few clean battles and managed to get a 4th place finish in one of the rare clean rooms, yet overall driving standards sucked bad tonight.

I was almost back to DR.B but ended back at 8.4K DR. At least my SR is still at 99. Next week Nordschleife. Perhaps tomorrow will be better yet if it's another day like this I'm gonna qualify. Experiment close to over. DT gardens is bump pass hell.

Next week is the moment of truth for the new Group 3 BoP as Bathurst is a balanced enough track (large technical section to make up for the long straights) to be a good benchmark. Maybe there was method to PD's madness after all, but I remain sceptical as the last major physics change didn't shuffle the Group 3 pecking order much, with the cars that rose to the top mostly doing so thanks to direct buffs and not the tyre model.

First Race A I did after the update installed, 6 of the 12 players were disconnected....

Dissadvantage of more countries is the poorer connections. It was like prcticing in Oceana (NZ and Australia) but with China, Japanese etc back, the connection is not nearly as good. With lots of cars it will get worse IMO. but as the race progresses and the field spreads, it will get bettre IMO.

Written from my hopsital bed. The wi fi is really fast here too ... no time for the PS4 though. not sure if their server would approve.

My first ever race with the Australians and Kiwis met me with 4 and 5 bars as my first impression, then some drops to 3. Anyway, I decided to use the 86 for this race, and my new 1:37.760 quali time set in the 4C puts me in 2nd behind a TT Cup. Got held up on the chicane on Lap 1, which unfortunately meant that the speed of that thing doomed my 86, then there is the off on Lap 3 which basically puts me as the highest Asian driver but 3rd overall, which is where I've finished. Oh and @LotusEvoraGTE appeared on my lobby sitting somewhere on the back and finished 10th.

I was about to make a post about this. I was watching some replays and noticed most of my opponents were using ASM and/or steering assist. I don't feel like it makes them faster, but it does make it easier to keep the car on the road and I have a feeling it makes it easier for them to get away with making contact. I feel like the racing would be more fair if everybody in the race gets the same punishment for making mistakes.

Anyway, the day ended ok for me. Have about 3000+ in DR but stil in C. Ended the day with a couple of top 3 finishes and completed the pole position challenge bonus:D

Here are some of my weird move highlights

And the same guy again because who needs brakes (luckily nobody got hurt:crazy:)

Posting this one because I'm not really sure who is wrong but I feel like he could have avoided me. Shouldn't really matter if I'm not fast enough through that corner, you can't just drive through me right? I know it's a small bump but it caused me to lose some time and I would have given the position back in his position.

two questions:
what are your dr and sr ratings. the race looks a little bit harsh!

second question; what is your lap time

by the way; this is the most joyful week for me. until this week i had only 1 win, now it is 7. additionally, i know how to win a little bit better. i am considering myself still a newbie, i cannot reflect all the things that i want in dualshock; but at the end of the day i am making progress. slow, but ok :)

DR C (7628), SR S (99) and a qualifying lap of 1.39.636. In a clean race I usually run consistent laps in the low to mid 1.40. That race in the first two video's was a wreck fest.

ahahaha it is so similar to mine actually. By yesterday, I just decreased less than 1:39.5 and there is a very small margin that i can apply more. I dont know how people are getting less than 1:38 really :)

also, with dualshock, simply i cannout use this alfa romeo 4c. i am using TT. This is only one of the 3-4 cars that i can use TCS 0 or 1 :)

The following people/accounts from the Top 10 are blatantly cheating Race A using the min-brake bug:
(PD: PLEASE REMOVE THESE LAPTIMES!)
Congrats, you are real Top-Stars!

1. Xx_STARSKY_xX (FRA) (no replay available, probably wall-riding)
2. GT_BAS (FRA)
10. Juergen-Wellmann (GER)

So the French are outdoing us AGAIN!
I was in races with some of the top 20 guys last night - it must have come as quite a shock to them to realise that they're not as fast as they thought they were now the cheat has been removed!

Still it must have comforted some of them to know that they could just drive dirty instead...

I'm hoping someone can help me.
I'm wondering if we know what races are lined up for next week.
Particularly if there's a Gr.3 race.

I've never known where to find them. :O

I'm gave up on running faster times because I wanted to focus more on racing this week and getting my DR and SR up. I tried some of the FWD cars and am amazed at how some people are so quick. I did my time in the Cayman. My optimal best is a 1.38.7xx so I know I should be faster but I keep messing up the last section when I'm on a faster lap. Ad my on PSN if you like, My PSN is Quin_slowcom.

Stats for today so far: 3 races and 2000 DR down:banghead: Had a funny momemt vs a guy named Bottle_Jobs. Guy tries to take second to last position from me on the last corner by trying to move right through me. Luckily for me he bottled it:)
