I'm gave up on running faster times because I wanted to focus more on racing this week and getting my DR and SR up. I tried some of the FWD cars and am amazed at how some people are so quick. I did my time in the Cayman. My optimal best is a 1.38.7xx so I know I should be faster but I keep messing up the last section when I'm on a faster lap. Ad my on PSN if you like, My PSN is Quin_slowcom.

Stats for today so far: 3 races and 2000 DR down:banghead: Had a funny momemt vs a guy named Bottle_Jobs. Guy tries to take second to last position from me on the last corner by trying to move right through me. Luckily for me he bottled it:)

I added you! :) thanks

Actually whole week I used mainly TT. I really got bored of it :D I can give a shot to Cayman which is my favorite car since NFS MW (From the boss races, it was the only pink slip I took while i was playing for the first time :D)

In the time attack, I am always getting less than optimal in 1 section. This is the result of being newbie actually. However, when I compare myself with previous, I started to bring much more consistent results. 3 weeks of before of me would get 1:50 in 2nd lap 1:42 in 3rd lap 1:47 in final lap :D One of the reason is actually, I am trying to avoid myself from engaging into harsh battles. It is simply letting the cars in front of you go beyond! And with penalty and SR system; either you are losing, or definitely losing :))

Last weekend I became SR:S driver. Last week I saw SR:C....nope, i do not want to turn back into these times :D

Avoiding is easier when you start in the top 3 so I usually go up in DR in those races. Then you get matched to better driver and start somewhere midfield and avoiding gets really hard. It's almost always the drivers behind me. I am amazed at the places where people try overtakes. You can be faster over a lap, but someone who has no problem overshooting a corner and taking you out will win the battle because the 2 second penalty is worth gaining a position. Of course the guy that gets taken out loses 5 seconds if lucky. I really hope the daily races get the penalty system from the FIA races or mechanical damage needs to be introduced. I think I'ts a better way to match clean driver because the rammers won't get a chance to move up in DR.

@gismanps & @VolkswagenX:

Welcome Gismanps! Looks like you are going around the same pace as myself. I'm using Megane Gr4 with wheel and quali at 1.39.92. Thought I was catching VolkswagenX but then he edged further ahead again. Race pace is 1.40 to 1.41 unless stuck in traffic or pushed into a wall.

I tried the Cayman for 2 laps last night. It is really nice on Gardens. Think I'll try some more practice with it and see if I can get consistent enough to race it.

Had a horrible night last night. Started at 9,877 points and after top 5 finishes all week figured a few points to Dr B would be easy enough. Unfortunately in all 3 races I entered the Spanish Armada sank me and I dropped into the 8,000 point zone. Man, the Spanish absolutely hate using their brakes on T4 and then when you are in front of them it's as though they feel entitled to the road in front of you and go through regardless of what is in front of them. Anyway, I logged off and went to bed. Can't be bothering with that sort of racing.

@Invisigoth; Yup, can't race naked! I hate when I realise that I'm faster in a car that I haven't liveried yet. Now I have to go and sticker the thing if I want to race. To have trouble I've come up with a 6BK standard livery format so I can do any car in a couple of minutes.:p

Next week is the moment of truth for the new Group 3 BoP as Bathurst is a balanced enough track (large technical section to make up for the long straights) to be a good benchmark. Maybe there was method to PD's madness after all, but I remain sceptical as the last major physics change didn't shuffle the Group 3 pecking order much, with the cars that rose to the top mostly doing so thanks to direct buffs and not the tyre model.
When did the Gr.3 BoP get changed? And is there a way to access the BoP change history? I haven't been able to find it.

I have a standard personal livery as a privateer:

but when Bathurst comes around:

It's much more of a pain to sort, especialy for cars that are shaped nothing like a Group C Commodore :odd:.

My cars are dressed in various liveries from the GTPlanet community and the GTS Discover section in general, including itasha liveries, to which most of them came from yuyuko_0418. One of my favourite non-itasha liveries is the Saleen Mustang by @Azabear6! As for the itasha side of things, well, it's the Zuikaku RC F at the moment...

You can use other people’s liveries? How do you do that?

Like @RZQSPEED said, in the game, go to Discover, scroll down to Liveries, then smash your head against a wall in frustration at the difficult to search method the game uses. When you find one, add it to favorites. The only thing is, the liveries are specific for a particular car and you can't modify them, say to fix a flaw in the livery.

The search system was so convoluted I couldn't figure out if anyone had done any liveries I was after or not. Aside from the Marlboro and Australian flag decals, I had to create my own.

To pit or not to pit on race C? That is the question.

I gave it a go last night with a no stop, I qualified 5th and finished 5th, but only because of some late lap shenanigans by people in front me was I able to pass a few people that took each other out. Otherwise I would have dropped to 7th and I got as high as 4th for a few laps.

I could tell by the end of the race I was really slowing down and as mentioned I was 4th and got passed by three guys. I'm not sure if they did a mid race pit or not. I didn't look at my lap times after the race to see how much I dropped off, nor did i check to see if anyone pitted, so that's why I'm here asking.

I'm 217th on the qualifying board right now(was 103 last night) so I imaging I'd be starting on the top half of the field. Not bad for my first go after a near 2 month hiatus.

What are you guys doing for pit strategy?

I’m so lazy when it comes to liveries, every car I’ve driven looks exactly the same lol. :)

I also have very similar liveries for my cars. I have a thing for the purple and yellow on cars...I don't know why. I have yellow with a purple stripe, and purple with a yellow stripe. Most don't have any "advertising" on them, but I did share my Nissan 92 livery since I put a bunch of stickers on it and it actually looks like a race car. I would post pictures, but I need to find an easy way to get them from my PS4 to here. I do most of my forum chat on a tablet, and can't even transfer from a USB stick to the tablet. I'll have to try to boot up my old laptop.
PS. Pigems may have seen my car since we ran together at Suzuka a bit. It's easy to see, being bright yellow and all. When I have 2 of the same cars (re: gr4 lambo) I do a yellow with purple, and a purple with yellow. Don't judge!:D

Only done about 4 race Cs this week. But I haven't been pitting. Or any of the cars in front of me.

1 Race A this morning. Worked on my time last night. Best down to 107.770. Average below 108. Started 6th. Messed up once. Lost maybe 2 seconds. Finished last. Competition is fierce.

I've raced just two races in C qnd already hate the addition of South America. It really exposes how bad the penalty system is when you get the penalty for being dive bombed mid corner. This was not an improvement.....

Not sure I understand how merging the SA's with the NA's exposes the penalty system, the system is and was a joke before the merge, how did it change? Hamster, I am seriously asking, not trying to be a jerk. Are you saying the SA's are more abusive of the system?

I've only been at this game since Christmas and making progress. I've known the system can be wonky when handing out penalties, but at least I got apologies in the chats after.

Just 4 races races since the change and I already felt the Btazilians know how the system can work advantageously while penalizing the one you got hit as they arent saying sorry in the chats after. I got knocked down from Sr A to B from stuff I did not cause and I was proud of the clean races I was running.

I really dislike the change.

I certainly am not on the level of a lot of you in here, but i try. I also am not as mentally observant of what i am doing and how to improve. I just have always love cars and played racing games. I've had the game since day one and have always done dailys but feel like i rarely see names i recognise from here....

Anyway just wanted to throw something in to say i hope if i ever meet any of you on track it is a fair and spirited race, also i love reading the info in this and many other threads here to improve my own times and racing skill

Is the Kudos page flipping? Another Maggiore Centre & Tsukuba next week...???
Nah, I think it will be Tokyo, Nords, and Bathurst, since the duplicated races of this week were due to the rejoining of Oceania to Asia and SA to NA.

Bathurst again? What happened to dragon trail or st croix or willow springs, etc. Good thing they added all those tracks I guess.

And don't forget to go to the Home menu, select the specific car that matches what the livery is on, go to Change Car Livery and you have a drop down that allows you to select either from your own Library or from your online Collection, which is what you pick in order to apply your custom livery. Then, select that livery and hit OK, and your car is dressed!

It seems as if the North Americans have taken the excuse of the server join to drive dirty. I did have a few clean battles and managed to get a 4th place finish in one of the rare clean rooms, yet overall driving standards sucked bad tonight.
DT gardens is bump pass hell.
I thought it was just me. The same people I raced last night were clean before the update.
Only raced 3 times last night, and all 3 resulted in DR down about 2k.

This is from a couple of nights ago... all was going great and i was enjoying some close races... and then this absolute whopper comes along and spoils it all. I'm in the grey TT and he is in the red & white TT. I've cut the video up to show different views from different cars - i think he probably took out 80% of drivers all in all.

Wow. I'm sorry, but that guy needs to be banned from sport mode. I've never seen anything like that before.
