Last weeks race C was perfect for my recovery from my DR drop a couple of weeks ago.
The track/car combo seemed to suit me. Although being 3.8 seconds slower than the top 10, my qualification was at #510 last Saturday, that's much higher up the rankings than I'm used to, usually I'm somewhere between 2500 and 3500.
During the weekend this started me P2-P6, with very mixed fields varying from rank C to A+ and the occasional S rated drivers.

There was a lot of close battling, most of the times very clean, if someone hit me or missed a braking point while behind me most of the times lights were flashed and hazard lights were used to apologize or even to indicate that the position was going to be given back to you.
Only had two occurrences with a spanish guy bumping his way through the field up to P2 to later end up P8 causing mayhem and after the race accusing everybody else of being dirty, he even hit me so hard after dive-bombing that I decided to report him after his remarks in the chat. Next race he pit maneuvered me going into the esses, briefly blinking his hazard lights, I dropped down from P2 to P7, P1 dropped to P5. I did manage to close down the gap to 2 seconds during the 6 remaining laps which resulted in another podium (P2), him taking the victory.
After race chat he kind of apologized to me saying: "Sorry, I am an idiot" thinking that would make him look less dirty, but considering the way he acted in the race before that one and the way he took this victory I will avoid driving close to him if he ever shows up in a race I'm in.

Due to a lot of podium finishes my DR went up from 11xxx to 192xx. Strange results for me because when mt DR is above 15000 I'm usually at the back of the pack trying hard to cross the finish line before the timer reaches zero. This week however, I found myself battling for P2, P3 and even a couple of times fighting for the victory while during all these races my race number (number on the car) was 15-17, so I was definitely in races with most drivers higher ranked than myself.

Now let's see what this new week brings!

And they're up!
Race A: Tuscan Speed 6 at Red Bull Ring Short, 7 laps
Race B: Gr.4 at Fuji, 4 laps
Race C: Gr.1 at Sarthe, 5 laps

Fuji short/no chicane/ruined, I assume?

I'll be sticking to the Tuscan race, this week. I don't think I can stomach another race at Fuji in a Gr.4 car, and I hate Sarthe.

I managed to win the last 4 A races of the week, at Willow Springs. I got 2nd in the first race race A of the new week, with the fastest lap. :) New A race: Tuscan speed 6 at Red Bull Ring short. The first corner, you can do whatever you want. The rest of the track, strict track limits.
Race B: Gr.4 Fuji short
And race C, you'll be happy, @Sven Jurgens. Gr.1 Circuit del la Sarthe with chicanes. :):):)

Gonna go qualify for Lemans. I usually don't race this late, but I'm pretty excited for race C. I believe the chicanes will make the Nissan no longer the meta. It will probably be the hybrids.

The unofficial companion app shows your exact number of DR and SR points and it updates after every race.
Also I have been copying the point every race and also commenting on the field ie their DR ratings. In a similar field earlier, I got 850 so I reckoned
...

Oh and pictures from the earlier race that I posted on Page 849, featuring me and @Melbourne Park!

Well , almost exactly the same thing happened again to me latish last night. I started 4th (with my fairly old time of 1:57.05 at race's Nurb F1) and I since I was newly using the revs before the car moves starting trick (phew it's awesome but its caused me havoc actually as I will describe. So I got up to 0.3 seconds behind the car in front, at the start. I guess he panicked, and then there he is to my left and with his tail flapping. So to avoid him, I slowed down. And he seemed to back off. We were on the left side of the track. I didn't know about cars to my right - the 5th car had been 0.87 seconds behind as I start to brake. But then, there he was - and then several other cars. So suddenly, I was like 8th - and in the middle of a mile (put an acute on that last "e" please). The around the third corner, someone looses it and I am over to the left trying to keep out of the way ... I come out 7th I guess ... with some bangs in the side of my car ... then going into th4 180 degree corner leading onto the Schumacher kink straights, I am in the middle of three cars - one on the left, and one inside me (the 8th car). Both cars bang me ...then I get banged by a new car after the kink - and one of the car's whose overtaken me, slams on the brake and I touch the guy at the next S left hand corner - I get awarded a 5 second penalty, and I also cop one later with a 2nd penalty. I came 13th, lost points but wow - my SR went own to 55! A lost of 29 SR in one race. I guess I should not have worried about the slow car at the end of the main straight - its more important to get away from the bunch of crazy Sapuku drivers, all "S" rated.

Now Nevillenobody got re-set when he was close to being an "A". I thought - I am going to be reset. its not happened to me but I think I now know - almost - what it feels like.

So with SR at 55, I reckoned the next time something happens, I'll be SR "E" and DR zero.

Darn ... but I raced, dropped my qualifying time a bit too, risking it all and I got put into races with "B" SR guys, mostly. I got four races in a row without penalty. I won several races. So I reckon I was lucky to have some easy races. SR is now back to 98. DR has recovered. Phew ... I reckon its much more tough depending on when you race too ... racing the Japanese at peak period is highly risky unless your faster than everyone around you. If I had of continued, I'd have been re-set I reckon.

Hope we get Fuji or Suzuka. Haven’t seen those in ages.
Fingers crossed.
And they're up!

YAY! I like Sarthe... doesn't mean i perform well there.. think i've managed a 3:24 at some point before but i go to Le Mans 24h every year so I'd feel like I was cheating on my wife if I didn't pay it some attention when it comes up. I think I might try a few different cars as well as I've always just jumped straight into my trusty 919, I need to live a little

Race C should be interesting many updates later. Last time I was at La Sarthe (when it was with chicanes), a no-stop strategy was possible with the 2016 LMP1s (or at least it was with both the Audis I was battling with and the Toyota I was driving). Gonna be trying it this time with the Porsche 919, seeing it its still possible.

Race A looks fun and while I quite enjoy Gr.4 at Fuji we did have it at the start of January. I don't understand why PD use such a limited pool of combinations for the dailies considering all the possibilities.

My DR has taken a hammering in recent weeks so I need to go back to basics and find some more speed. That and hope that the matchmaking be just a little kinder to me.

I hate complaining, I just need to be faster :)

Good point! I don't really keep my eye on the BOP and physics changes when we get updates, so it will be interesting to see how this turns out.

Have you stopped cheating on your wife? :D

First attempt: Wasn't successful. Managed to climb from 14th to 3rd (and got the fastest lap, which is both shocking and cool), but I only got that on the last lap thanks to two people with penalties. Weirdly though, 2nd place was able to make it with the same car so maybe I did something wrong. Will give it another go.

From a cabinet filled with a plethora of enticing gelato flavours, Polyphony once again serves vanilla.

Sport mode is becoming a chore.

No stop is the way to go for race C

Did a run before everyone gets upto speed and had quite the race (will probably upload later in the week).

Audi's had to fuel save a lot, the winner managed to do a no stop, however he only finished 3s ahead of me even though his quali time was about 2.5s quicker

Its a pity that we're getting, once againt, Fuji gr.4 B race. Its been the 4th time in 3 months, if i'm not mistaken. I love the track and gr.4, butt a room full of TT's, Huracans and meganes unfortunatly gets dull.
It's been such a long time since the last gr.4 C race, where the tyre wear kiiiiiiinda evens out the FF stability and sheer power.

Race C though, Perhaps this week I'll try to run the NISMO LM and see how I fare. @coryclifford always inspires me on his lmp1 shenanigans

@drummingcat Has mentioned above, FF cars normally have more power, and gr.4 unfortunatly really favors them, or you can try the GT-R/Huracan for some sick power/stability as well.
I normally take the NSX, but on Fuji the 458 Italia competes well with the meta, and is way more fun
