14th to 5th to 13th, cause some idiot in a Viper can't keep it together, spins on a kerb, takes me out with him and I get a 5 sec penalty for it. Thanks to the penalty he still finishes ahead of me. Punt people off before they can wipe out in front of you!

I knew it was my week for a win at last. Start to finish lead.

Was it you?!

Disconnected at race start, and my bloody a isn't working on my keyboard, having to press ctrl+v everytime I need an a. Brethe in brethe out, brethe in, brethe out, clm, :banghead:🤬
Not me. I missed the race start, so I went to Jack in the Box. While sitting in the drive thru, I realized that so far, I've only tried the no-stop strategy at race B. :banghead:

Like everyone else I drive the Huracan at Race B this week. I logged a solid time (1:46.833) that is just short of my PR.
There are a few sections that make or break me ...:
1) Turn 2 and 3 chicane - I try to just go a solid line in 3rd gear and hope to get a good clean exit. Sometimes (like in the video) I do a short push in 2nd.
2) Turn 5 is the same. Sometimes I try and roll trough on 3rd and sometimes I push in 2nd.
3) Then we have turn 7 after the short down hill that is critical to gain speed up the hill again. Here I try and brake to hit the apex in 5th gear and then do a perfect line up the hill.
Anyone have any suggestions (in the video I bounce trough the bus stop and probably lost some time there.
So far this have yielded me to 3rd grid starts and two 2nd places so I’m gaining points tonight

I was told after a race

"Next time close your doors when passing" or something like that.

I asked what he meant he said no worries.

We had a clean race but I've been on my race as close as possible trip all day and was inches off his bumper a good while before I made my move and I passed him in tunnel after bus stop. Thought I went wide but admit was a last second swerve out to the inside well before the final right hander.

Does he mean I was not giving him enough space? I figurred since I never touched him that couldn't be it but at same time doubt he would comment on a wide pass

Dunno why but I cant get over my curiosity

Maybe he thought he got a slight bump as you passed, like an open door hit him. Or was just trying to be funny about how close you were as you passed?

Nice lap. 👍

I think you lost some speed trying to maintain 5th gear on the downhill part (34 seconds onward). I get killed by most Huracans there, probably a 4WD advantage. Hard to tell by the angle though. Cockpit view works better for details I think.

I dropped to the low SR.S rooms in case you were looking for me @sturk0167. SR 81 atm after getting mauled and then disconnected at race start the next race. Still there as I got a white S for the last one, another 🤬 of a first lap. Start last and still get bumped of 3 times in the first half lap

I'm in SR.A now. A Canadian idiot started pushing and bumping on the straight. I bumped back, went on until he went off. It cost me a 3 sec penalty to educate this poor soul. SR 69. Guess I need another decal, no bumping eh or receive the boot.

I've had just two races on Saturday morning (Australia) and the third I got disconnected at the start. But in the two races, I've maintained my 99 Sr but lost 1,600 in DR. First race was saving fuel in a 911 in third place, just behind second, then lost contact on the back straights as went full bore, at the end of the main straight I got punted and was then back to 5th. I then go punted at Spoon, and lost many places. They were slower in front so I pitted, and entering the first corner after the pits, I got punted, and it took ages to get out of the sand,.Still finished 7th but lost 600 DR. But with all the crashes, my SR maintained itself at 99.

Next race even worse - I grabbed the Audi thinking I will just go flat out and pit. But once again, a first corner crash being punted from behind, and there I was again not being able to get out of the sand. Back into the race and once again got hit at spoon but at least he also went off ... I came out then near last, and then slowed right down avoiding a car in front at the chicane. Which of course resulted in me being hit at the corner at the end of the straight. I pitted for fuel only and got hit coming out of the pits - it seems all you have to do is avoid braking is aim at a car coming out of the pits - there is no stop light there to ensure you won't !!!! ... so I am running up to someone after the S's, that left turn I am sitting on the outside and an Aussie driver just turns right and puts me in the sand. I cannot get out there, loose 20 or so seconds, had to pit as the tyres were gone, and finished last except for a retiree. My SR was still 99 despite all my accidents - but I lost 1,000 SR. And Oh - the game said it was going to disqualify me ... after being belted up thoughout. And at the end - blue SR and still 99. WTF ... ???

The annoying thing is if I belt into people - I gain DR, and also the SR I loose from doing so will put me into easier races. So the game encourages you to drive into other people - its the way to pass at Suzuka. How pathetic that the car behind gets little punishment. The car behind must be punished guys. And also, the car behind needs to be stopped at the next straight and made to pay his penalty. Isn't that what PD promised a quarter of a year ago?? The fact is too that braking testing might become part of the game but then that is racing, and also, why do it when you loose contact to the car in front of you???

Please PD, stop this nonsense where the car behind gains clearly from hitting cars in front of it.

Things got back to fun after hitting 100 wins some venting and good chat in here got me on a whole other trip today.

Keep it close as possible and look for unexpected openings.

Everybody is aggressively being defensive I'm passing when they dont expect the clean sneak by

For the most part I've been in clean races, lest been a bunch not getting punted or side checked althoigh I am conceiding when side by side in areas like going into the bus stop

I just had the pleasure to send this Argentinian back to SR.B
mJhd.jpg

The decal didn't help, full punt. I guess he went too fast to heed the warning.

SR +2 for me, to 71. DT is still a mess in the backfield, however I'm in SR.a now.

SR +0 next one, lot of red B's in there, go bumped off twice, up, down, up the field I go. I guess I have to brake on the inside for the final turn as its a guaranteed dive bomb otherwise. I can't remember a race where I did not get bombed at least once in that corner.

SR -7 car messes up the esses, knocks me off, I get the penalty. Then I get punted by another car, paid back.

Time for Suzuka soon, DT is a write off today.

An unexpected clean race bonus. Is dirty hour finally over? +6 SR, I did not get hit, 7th place finish. There is still hope.

I feel like something must be going on with the game recently. You and I tend to be on the same page about etiquette and even on controversial issues like overlapping corner rights. But this week, like you, I feel like I've lost my damn mind. I've never been one to take **** from other drivers but now the volume of ******** being thrown at me immediately drops my SR down with all the random vigilante and balls out two wide on the inside line - oops you punted yourself - trash that I have to pull on people lately.

Just today, I had the lead into the bus stop chicane and I knew the rear guy wasn't going to follow so I did a weird drift thing into the right hander to eat his impact and smooth it out into the left. Pure GTA Online race tactics for the pass.

They really need to fix this game. I'm still having fun but I feel like I'm wasting my time goofing around with knuckleheads.

So true. The clean race was an anomaly again. This time a Canadian bump passes me in the chicane, he doesn't slow at all, bumps me wide first, then passes and I get SR Down for that. So off you go next corner, -7 SR back to SR.B. If the penalty system only encourages dirty driving, what else can you do. Reporting does absolutely nothing. Maybe the penalties are simply broken on DT as bump passes get rewarded as long as the other car doesn't go off and often even when you go off the system is still ok with it.

When I'm not fully alongside I drop back, it's just common sense. Yet there are so many that think half a nose alongside is a great way to enter the bus stop or esses. Even when I'm fully alongside heading to the bus stop yet on the left, I'll drop back as I don't have the right line.

You just have to focus on the good drivers I guess, it's hard when there are so many that don't have a clue about racing.

Come on, really PD. Cause and effect, it's not that hard, A -> B -> C why is that so hard to understand.

How the 🤬🤬🤬 do I get a penalty and red rating for this???

He was probably targeting the car ahead of me who was driving dirty all race and bumped him off in the bus stop. Every day I get less respect for the penalty system. It's beyond broken on DT. Bump / punt / push it's all fine, just don't try to drive clean, that's bad.

Dt is not a track to run if you want clean this week.
I’m gonna try another c race race or two this weekend, but DT? nah.
GR4 plus DT equals chaos.

Hm... had 4 races yesterday, never once got divebombed into the first chicane on lap 1, racing was surprisingly clean. Unfortunately I managed to bottle it a few times for myself, throwing away an easy win or podium finish, still managed 2 podiums out of the 4 races, 2 3rds or a 2nd and 3rd, I don’t remember exactly... Still better than expected :)

@sturk0167: Ref your DT hot lap vid. *EDIT* I just watched @Pigems lap...ignore everything I wrote and just do what he did.

I have not done much on DT this week and you are much faster than I already. Genuinely I've no idea how any body sets times like that with A/T. I would have thought you need full control of the gears to maximise performance. You asked for observations so my take;

1: @O604 said you may be holding 3rd and not dropping gears at points, I'd agree coming out of hard right hander at the top of the hill after the chicane that 2nd may have given you more drive. At 59 secs you are in 3rd and coasting through the corner before bus-stop. Great to keep smooth and carry speed but there's 3 whole seconds where your throttle is full on and the revs are at zero which would suggest that while smooth you were very high geared here too.

2: At 37 secs coming into the sweeping left before the esses you drop to 4th. Probably because of the A/T but vids I've watched of the top times in EMEA have them holding 5th there.

3: Last thing (and again this is observation compared to other vids and not my own slower time) is that I sensed a lot of hesitation on the last turn, as though you braked perhaps too early and started your turn in but ended up slightly correcting your line. That was probably only this lap though while I'd reckon 1&2 are things you do on every lap.

@Pigems mentions using more of the track and I will say that is the most obvious difference I notice between my own Q laps and the top guys. Especially in cars like the Gr3 MR cars (R8 / 911 etc) and Gr4 Huracan. They slide the car all over the track keeping smooth but using every last inch of track. I am always worried I'll go off or pick up a penalty but they seem to just slide onto every last allowable blade of grass.

But hey, at least you know we care.:sly:

R.Soles for president! R.Soles for mayor! R.Soles for re-elect, R.Soles everywhere! Yeh, Race B was a real let down. Couldn't beat my Viper time with the M4, so my Viper time had me starting P8/14 on a grid of mostly DR/Ds with a few Cs and an S. There were 5 Can Hurrys. Gee... I wonder what is going to happen?

Race starts and I have to really throttle back at the first chicane because everyone in front is crawling through and under brakes when I'm ready for full throttle. The M4 is nimble and torquey. I passed a couple of people on the climb up the hill (did I mention the M4 is torquey? :p), another crashed out, and I got another between the bus stop and the final corner.

Second lap and the tight right hander after the chicane as I was turning in I got pushed aside by, what a freakin surprise, a 🤬 in a Huracan. I hung on to him and again got held up at the chicane. There was another Huracan further back who decided to try his luck on the hill climb. I covered the inside and was ahead both going in and coming out. I had to take a slower line to protect myself going in and he hit me from behind coming out, sending me across the track and into the end of the Armco, which resulted in a 720 degree spin :banghead::banghead::banghead:. I dropped down to P13. Then on the final lap I hit the inside of the entry of the exit to the bus stop, which I had been nailing for 9 laps at full throttle. Another spin and down to last place :banghead:.

I gained 2SR and lost 1k.. which hurts when I only had 1528 to start with! Another day above DR 1 . To add insult to injury my Daily Workout "gift" was another POS Huracan :yuck:.

Not sure what's the issue here, he scored a perfect hit, points showed up on your screen.

Oh wait, that's curling, my bad:lol::lol::lol:

No races for me last night. Left work early and hit the sack early with a blinding headache. Will be on for a bit of weekend racing in a few hours. Had to come to work to finish the washes i didn't do yesterday.

I might try race B. I have a reasonable qualifying time, although i am not happy with it and know i can do better, but it is fast wnough i feel like i can at least race there. You guys are scaring me off though with the horror stories. race A was nice and clean yesterday morning, so i am not sure where to go lol

A again.
Put me on pole this time, led the first 7 laps before a fast Brazilian caught me. Let him by but drove my butt off to keep the pressure on as he had 1.3s penalty time. Into the final straight I was only .5 behind as he pulled to the side to kill his time and give me my 3rd win. Finally one I felt I deserved, I only had one bad turn really. 20190223_095356.jpg

Thanks for all the friendly advice, everybody, but y'all failed to mention switching liveries. I switched to this old favorite, and it worked like a charm. 👍 Also it helps to race in the low S class, and do it before the fast guys wake up.

Nice! So they do go to sleep eventually. I did a couple more hours of late night racing, couldn't sleep. I think my last race was just before 5am and while traveling down to SR.B and close to SR.S again, at no point was there no fast guy at front, sometimes more as I got merged with the A+/S crowd the later it got. I did manage to snatch a few fastest laps before matchmaking put everyone together again and the 'fast' guy up front did not have the race pace his quali time suggested. A 1:47.1 was enough for the fastest lap in a couple races. Or perhaps the leader simply too it easy running out in front, I did not manage to finish higher than third.

Racing did get a little cleaner in the middle of the night. Never clean though and never with much sense when it comes to entering the bus stop 2 wide or 4 wide into the sharp turn before.
