I woke up early for this 🤬?

Sorry bout the lineup, guys. I hadn't realized that PD was actually using my posts for guidance. These were my predictions on Saturday. As you can see, they used components of all 3. I'll be more careful, next time, now that I know they're following me.

Race A: BB Raceway - One-Make Focus ST
Race B: Tokyo Expressway East Inner Loop - Gr.3
Race C: St. Croix B - Gr.2

Can I get a copy of this week’s lotto numbers while you’re at it?

Race A isn’t so bad as a Time Trial. :)

Because I had a bit of time I thought I'd jump straight into a Race C to see what's what. I did this completely cold without a single practice lap! I know Fuji well enough but wanted to see how the tyres held up.

In all honesty, I did a 1 stop on the mediums and they weren't that bad. The tyre wear indicators told a story of almost completely worn tyres but I felt that the car was still drive-able. I'm sure it helped that my starting at the back racing with some lower ranked players helped, but don't be put off by the x13 tyre wear. Maybe it's just that the group 2 cars can cope with the worn tyres better than others.

I finished 7th in the end with a small DR loss and a loss of a single SR point, but I felt pretty positive about Race C after that.

I'd like to run into these courteous British players once in a while, they've given me more than their fair share of grief. Maybe the C/S group has a glut of Britons who are persuaded by big red buses.

It's relative I suppose. I'm not saying that all Britons drive with equal respect, only that of the players I've raced against who have raced fair and then later sent a friend request they have virtually all been Irish (natural I suppose) or British but never a Spaniard, German, Italian or other (1 French).

Of course, if was in a silly mood and read your post literally then perhaps running into courteous British players is not the best way to friend them. Just as well I'm not in such a mood though.:sly:

@watto79 Good to hear the times 13 wear is livable. It may be worth a look after all.

@Pigems: Race A isn’t so bad as a Time Trial? Really though? 12 Laps a race going slow motion round a virtual circle all week?

I don’t intend to do any races there, just the time trial lol. If I race this week it will probably be on race C. :)

I just setup a small practice lobby with the same settings as the race would be and I noticed the same: According to the indicators the medium tires are nearly gone after 7 laps but the car felt controllable. But I also noticed that after Lap 5 oversteering got exponentially worse and I had to enter every turn much slower than the lap before. About 3s difference in lap 6 to my fastest lap 2.

Fuel consumption doesn‘t seem to be an issue. I guess I‘ll have a race later this evening, it‘s worth a try.

Does ASM or CSA help on the Z8?

I've always had difficulty in this car. Have bad memories of it on a pylon mission in one of the older GT games.

I did one race there, this morning. I didn't have that great of a Q time, but I got 3rd, because everybody was sliding all over the place on every turn. If you go, bring your drifting skills with you. It's pretty easy on the SR, too. I think I had about 6 SR downs, which is normally disastrous, but the total SR loss was only 3 points. I guess it's because there's 24 total sectors.

CSA should make you faster. ASM will also help with control, but will make you slower.

It will be a fun week for time trials, not so much for racing. Oh well, another week spent alone on a track or doing Snail races. :)

Best so far is 33.3, Optimal is 32.9. The second last corner is very tricky to maintain speed and line, it’s gonnna take some time.

Best so far is 1:19.0, Optimal is 18.8, but I did do an 18.6 on a red lap, I forgot it was a red lap too until I crossed the line, grrr.

Nice laps. Which car are you using for Tokyo?

Race A reminds me of the different combos we used to get when we had real daily races. There would always be something quirky that made for a great time. It’s fresh and light-hearted. You could play it for one night and extract the full enjoyment out of it. I enjoyed seeing who could adapt the quickest in a short period time trial. A week is too much, but atleast it’s not Tokyo Central Outer Loop, Lago Maggiore Centre, Tsukuba, or Suzuka East with the SAME car.

The switch to weekly races has really jaded Race B & C.

Something needs to be done... Add more races, include a drift event, a rally time attack, seasonal event, daily races, longer race with live qualifying, race with tuning... Something.
One real daily race, in a different track every day, with live qualifying... that would make GTS great again.

Definitely want a daily rotation on at least 1 race.

It feels as if the Daily races only exist as a place to go between FIA races. As someone mentioned, the week long dynamic works better to get people in and prepared for FIA races. That's where the best drivers are and what attracts the most attention so it's understandable.

But for those without interest in the FIA or don't have the time or other reasons, the Daily races represent GT Sport. And it comes across like they really don't pay much attention to the selection, the track limits, the penalties, the ghosting, etc...

I imagine most people who continue to play just deal with it. This is the only game I play. And the most fun I've had with any driving game. Like my driving I'm just hopeful for improvement.

Nope, that‘s from GTS Companion, not the official App. Sorry, I got lost between too many Apps and thought you were talking about the iOS-Version of Companion.

Somebody should develop an app to keep track of Board-Threads!
They do, its called forum runner

I had a nightmarish Race C earlier. My race was ruined when I got punted at the chicane on laps 2 & 3, and to cap it off, I was denied a 10th place finish as I rear-ended a guy who unghosted about two seconds before the line.

I'm not really happy with the selection this week, like most here. I'll try to look at the up side. I usually do well at the Tokyo tracks, though this is one of my least favorites. We'll see if BB ends up being a bunch of wall riders... Fuji...Again? BTW, which version is it? I'll probably do most of my racing there this week. It is, after all, the track that I got used to using 0 TCS in the GR2. At first, it seemed that I would just spin (the tires, the car) but once I got the hang of it, they can actually take a lot of throttle as long as you have a bit of roll speed for the downforce. Even 2nd gear will take full throttle if you're not pushing much lateral G's. I hope it's the no chicane version this time, in this car.
@ststav01 The Meta will be the '16 Nissan, since it seems that, with tire wear, it's the only choice to go fast. At least that was it last time. IDK if the update had any effect.

just watched this race and it's put me right off even bothering QF for Tokyo this week. These guys are all trying to stay clean but it's just a :censored:fest of penalties.
I'm out

I saw very little effort to stay clean. Dude was hitting practically evrrybody and made zero attempts to avoid anybody giving and getting penalties...

The Penalties do seem sensitive tho :/
