Hold on to your hats. Next weeks races are up:

Race A: Lago Maggiore Centre - N100 Provided Car - 6 laps
Race B: Nürburgring Nordschleife - N300 One Make Car from Garage - 1 lap
Race C: Mount Panorama - Gr.3 - 9 laps

So no Japan based tracks but also nothing not seen recently!

Seriously???

Soooooo, the exact same races we had like a month and a half ago.... may e i should buy dirt rally 2. This is getting really old having almost the same races over and over and over.... :indiff::banghead: i guess the nord might be good depending on the car

I finally got a win on Race A last night. I moved up from 4th to 2nd riding on the 1st place car's tail. Approaching turn 1, the dude is on the outside as I'm gaining so he drops down mid track to block me and protect his apex. That's fine, I switch to the outside line expecting to brake later and to try to draft him on the exit.

Right as I hit the braking point he switches back to the outside line to block me, so I have to cut back inside to not ram him causing me to bomb the apex. He stays wide through the corner but I'm exiting with too much heat and I grind him into the wall dragging his speed down and giving me 1st place. He tried to recover later but he scrubbed another turn 1 and kept going wide on turn 3 so he couldn't keep up.

I felt bad but where else am I supposed to go? Sometimes I wonder if these people are even thinking about what they want out of the scenarios they create.

So the Fiat again for A, Porsche again for B and the lights turns on for C this time. They do love to repeat themselves. :)

At least we can choose a car for the Ring this time, wont make any difference to my result,i`ll still be last. I dont mind the GP version but i`m not really a fan of the Nurburgring full circuit to be honest.I wouldnt like to guess what class N100 car is going to be.

Making me choose between my 2 favorite tracks again, just as I bought Dirt Rally 2. I predict little amounts of sleep next week.

YEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!

I did it, now to try and trim it down.... lol

Did one race b last night. Started near the back and the front 5 all had regional top times, the pole sitter was more than 2 sec faster than me. I got rubbed out against the wall by the guy behind me into turn 2 and was 5 sec back in last by the end of the back "straight" and thats where i finished, although i did catch back up to be right on his bumper at the end. Back to race a, i dont know why but i am really having fun there. Still cant hit a 32.xxx in qualifying though :irked:

Same here, Race A is kinda fun.

I got into 33 and can see a 32 just haven't made it work yet.

I would find this hard to believe if I wasn't there, but just in case you guys thought I was kidding when I wrote about the terrible A.I. drivers last week, check out what happened in a GT League event, this morning. I'm in the green BMW, just minding my own business on the last lap, and the idiot in the pink 86 tries to destroy me. What the...??? Full-on punt attempt. Not joking. It really was an A.I. driver(Norwegian flag).

Is it in the programming for them to do stuff like this?:lol::lol: Wow

I'll try my best to find a tiny bit of time for Gr.3 at Bathurst. Doubt it though :indiff:

The other two races are disappointing. Two one makes? And ones we've seen in the past two months? Come on PD, the track and car selection is much larger than that.

.
In all fairness, rally cars are not actually "raced" either. A weekly time trial would be good however. (this makes me think of a post for the "unpopular opinions thread".)

Here is a link to my replay share of the race I had last night. As I state in my comment, THIS is why I love Sport Mode. It can serve up a meeting of some great players giving it their all. IIRC there was only 1 or 2 DR B in here. The bulk of the field was A, A+, and S. The ranks were spread out and the Q times were very close. Everyone had a different thought process on how to tackle this race. I went for an early Mediums stint, and a late Hards stint.

Add this one to your collection. It deserves to be seen in game where you can cycle through the different battles.

Side note (because I was asked post race) I am driving on ABS default, no other aids, and the BB on my Lexus is 0.

I thought of making the same point. Currently Quali Times act this way with some players (a lot in here too) that are just as intent on getting as high a quali time in a given week as they are about actually racing. For example, you could enter "Daily D" at 6 pm that ran for 20 mins and grouped players in a similar fashion to the current lobbies, so a number of players with similar DR and quali time are pooled together and the challenge is to see who in the group sets the fastest time in during the session. Then a TT could run on short terms basis rewarding players with wins, earnings, XP etc the same as a current race.

Drive Club had a similar event set up where a race or TT would be created by a user and left running for a fixed time be it a day, a week etc and everyone who took on that challenge during the period was given a finishing position relative to the others who had also tried it. You would even see a ghost car of the actual player who had a time faster than yours so you could get a sense of challenging real opposition.

Let's see ... Race a, not interested. Race b, really not interested. Did a qualy of 1:33:xxx for race c. That put me in 12 place on a grid of 16 i think. From what i read here i decided to go with 8 laps on hard and switch on mediums for the last 5 laps and try to go conservative and just hold my position.

So ... Got hit from behind on T1. That made me lose one place. Got hit from behind again on turn .. 5 ? (The hairpin) . Lose 2 positions and get a 2.xxx sec. penalty ! (Going great so far ..... ) I managed to get away from punting and hits after that.

For the subsequent couple of laps i was able to put a bit of distance with the driver behind enough so i could get rid of the penalty on the straight without losing a position.

Pit at the end of lap 8, change for mediums. Some close and interesting racing with an American after that. Gain a couple of places and finish 9th place.

So, for getting rid if the penalty when i was hit from behind and for gaining 3 positions .... Dr + 396 and Sr - 8......oh well..

I guess it's gonna be back to campaign mode for the rest of the week.....

At this point I'm certain that the daily race choices are automated, and the program/bot/nodding bird is broken. While you could justify the constant repetition of races as an attempt to keep a declining userbase engaged by repeating ones that are popular, look at next week's. They're all repeats, and they're all a complete disaster for clean racing:

Race A: The slowest car in the game on a tiny track, so extremely close lap times and constant jostling for position.
Race B: The hardest track in the game, with an extremely oversteery car (assuming it's the 911 again)
Race C: Tyre wear in race cars on a track that's single file for half, with high speed blind corners with walls right at the track edges.

I've won races on each of those combos in the past, but I'm not interested in them because my SR is guaranteed to drop and affect my FIA races. Even if that wasn't a priority, it's nigh-on impossible to race cleanly for a whole week, so why bother?

According to KP its a car from your garage,as far as i know there is no Porsche in N300?

That's the wrong strategy for back of the pack. You need to invert that. Go Medium and go balls out on the heavy fuel load, then switch to Hard at the end of lap 5. The lighter fuel load and better wear of the hards will make your lap times more consistent over the course of the race and you'll finish higher up.

As for next week's Race C, WTF??? Mt. Panorama AGAIN??!!!! WTF happened to Catalunya? is was used once, was awesome (except for the bug) and then no more.

Are the letting the Janitor pick these races?

The dual user - having more than one PD ID - is to protect player's high DR scores. This happens three ways IMO:
1 - By racing only in races they are good at.
2 - By practicing in those races with their secondary ID.
3 - By racing as low rated drivers - E, D, C or B etc - they beat players rated higher than their fake secondary lower rated status, hence making it more difficult for those players to get to A+.

Point 3 is the worse thing about it IMO.

PD should use not IDs, but the internet address IMO.

Perhaps too, PD should re-set everyone's scores every 6 months. The first month might be lots of fun too.
This reminds me of the smurf issue that Overwatch has. To protect their rank or to try different heroes, they make a second account and get ranked lower, thus carrying those games until they are placed in higher ranks.

I don't think that's an issue on GTSprt yet, but I hope that that is at least one of the things PD has in mind.

Have i misunderstood the"car from garage"bit?Cant we pick a car from our own garage or do they pick one for us?Be nice to see a mix of cars on track.

You pick a car you buy from the brand central on your garage. Even if it’s a one make in the case of race b.
I wonder what the car for race b will be? NSX? Or R33 or R34?

If it didn't say ONE MAKE after N300, then we'd be able to race any car that fits the N300 criteria. It would be nice to have races like that more often. It seems like that only happens about once every 8 or 9 months. :(

Thanks ... I'll think about that next time ;)

Edit : That was a good strategy to follow ..... Tried one more race. I was curious to see if it would make such a difference. Started on 8th place. No hits on turn 1 :) . I was able to have consistent times through the firsts few laps. Went with hards after lap 5. Ended in 2nd. I had a great race up to the finish line with a Costa Rican. Very close and respecful racing. Finally beating him at the finish line by a fraction of a second but he still had a penalty of .xxx sec...... And i got the win !! :)

When was last time Daily Race allowed a choice of cars outside of Gr. 4/3/2/1?

I remember that .gif of Sven "racing" in the Raptor on Sarthe(?). And I think there was one on Big Willow but that may have been when it changed daily.

Seeing PDs choices for the dailies I think the suspiction that they are trying to get more drivers to join the FIA events is true.

Let‘s face it: The big FIA sticker along with the announcement of official licenses was the big thing about GT Sport. And many new players (including me) joined the franchise for the first time. Without it, GT Sport will be just a racing simulator between many.

It looks like it‘s going to work: I will enjoy my 45 minutes with an LMP1 in Le Mans (although the strict schedules make something that should be fun a duty)

That was on a single day race, I got a win on it in an F40 on the 26th of July last year.
