Just did an A race, pulled the ballerest move ever to go from 10th to 4th through turns 1 and 2. I saved the replay, its worth watching. I'll have to figure out how to edit and post it here. I finished 4th, but felt wholly justified after a terrible first lap which I almost spun out. Got my QT down under 1:08 finally, smashed it actually, over 4 tenths off my previous. 1:07.714 :D

Edit: what the heck did he hit?

I left work early today, due to fever and a headache, so I only manage to try one car on Mount Panorama tonight. The F1. I’m not a fan of it. I was about 2-3 second/lap slower than with the GT-R . First lap doesn’t count, as I forgot to change from RH to RM  But still, not a fan. Did a quick livery for it though, in case I decide I want to race it.

Holy Crap! That was some serious height.

I don’t think it’s possible. :)

Sure is lololol seen this a few times the last time we had this event (cough cough few weeks ago cough recycled cough cough) them cones are launch pads as long as you hit the cone laying on its side pointed at you.

I just thought of something. If you use a cone to jump over a chicane, would you get a penalty? 💡

5 races at bathurst in two nights, two wins, two seconds and a full blown reset.

Honestly it's ridiculous, I had one bad race that was just chaos, like everyone was being insane. Yes i touched two cars by accident but hardly big hits and i was hit 4 times.

For the first time i passed 32k DR and was DR A ... for one race!!!!!!!! next race was the messy one and dropped to 15K. I mean freaking really, one race is way too harsh given the system's inability to discern who was at fault. That will take me a solid 2 moths to get back.

Four things:
1 - The problem might have been your SR. - You've mentored me and so I check your scores every day, and your SR has been mid 50's for two weeks or more. IMO if you cop a lot of penalties with an "S" SR, you will not be re-set. But if you are in the 50's or 60's, it seems you can be.

Well done on the A by the way ... which really is remarkable because your qualifying is not as fast as you race.

2 - Qualifying faster than your race pace makes point scoring far more difficult, and it also decreases your SR - a lot IMO.

3 - If you loose points at the beginning of the week, a second account stops that happening. - when I start a week and a new race, I am not at all driving well. In Asia, there seems to be some Japanese guys who seem to play 18 hours a day ... they are always on there. I played a game at 6:30 am the other day - the dude I saw the previous night was still there. And in Japan, it was not 6:30 am, it was 4:30 am. He was there when I quit, and there are more of them too. So, such guys are going to be quick at the start of the week. last week I lost almost 3k in the first couple of days. I got it back because I found a race I was quick at. But racing instead of qualifying well costs both DR and SR IMO. And yes - I started a new account this week. I'd have lost 3k points no worries if I had not. I'll race my real account soon, although its been a tough week and I won't until I can get a decent qualifying in.

4 - If you win a couple of races, the game will suddenly put you in a much tougher field. It likely happened to you ... that's where a good qualifying would make life much easier.

Cheers and thanks for all you huge help to me.

Be hard to test that one.

Hey everybody dont race this round, help me move a cone to see if I can jump a curve to avoid a penalty.

Good luck

Ahahahahahhahaah
 Not in a race. I did it in qualifying a couple weeks ago at Yamagiwa in the Honda Beat. It took a while, but I slowly nudged one of the cones into the middle of the track, at the bottom of the hill. It was quite a project. It took a while to get that cone set up just right, using my bumper to nudge it. I hit that sucker fast, but didn't get a lot of air. Next time I'll try it with the cone laying on it's side. 👍

Bro thats too guud lol

Patient man when determine

I’ve got A down to 6.970, @Rexracer702 your time is still safe, for now. ;)

I rolled a third Fiat as well but I can’t seem to keep it on two wheels for any amount of time before she goes over. Imma keep trying though. :)

I just did the same, nudged it around until it was laying on its side pointing straight back at me, hit it full speed and nothing, not even and inch. So I nudged it around to point away from me and hit it again and still nothing. Maybe I’m doing it wrong? I was tempted to collect all the cones from the track in a pile and run that over.

Racing was great in the afternoon. First race in the evening, starting all the way down to 8th now, get punted in T minus two, battle ensues and after I get back to 8th, escape the chaos and am closing in to 7th, disconnected. :banghead: Can't even report the idiot punter, unless I see him again. On the to report list.

Costly disconnects now, -950 DR, - 17 SR. Got to qualify better not to drive with the 🤬

Ofcourse thanks to the SR drop I start in front of him again, on pole in the 80-89 SR room. And he rams me off again, couldn't avoid, simple nose job. He got a penalty yet what does it matter when the rest of the field barges through. Very dirty race. I eventually made it back to the front, all clean avoiding the chaos, weaving through the flashing penalty signs. I got behind him at the final stretch and he still had 4.5 sec left of his 8 sec penalties. Third place and blue S for me, he dropped to SR.A, bye bye. All red ratings at the front. SR 🤬 is back in town.

After getting rid of the dirty Canadian I had two easy triple star victories. Matchmaking is so weird. Last one I'm on pole with 8:12, 2nd place 8:28 qualifying time, seems fair. I did improve my race time for a no draft race to 8:39.390, driving up front without pressure.

And yep, back to the 90-99 SR room, starting 12th. Damn I started 6th without qualifying on Monday

Have you tried both transmissions? I did a bunch of laps with the automatic, then tried to beat my ghost with the manual, and couldn't. But, that may very well be because I hardly ever use manual, because it distracts me from steering and braking. Since you're good with the manual, I thought you could gauge the difference in time, if you get a chance to try it.

I’ll give it a shot for sure and see what I can come up with. I think manual is gonna win though because the shifts into and out of T2 are Critical to maintaining your speed, T2 determines the entire for the most part. :)

I just scored a 1:06.7. Watch the shifts into and out of T2, if you stay in third the whole way through you lose a ton of speed coming out, but if you go to second to early you lose it going in and through, or stay in it to long you lose speed coming out lol. This car also seems to like to be short shifted slightly, I noticed Lester was doing it so I tried it and it helps a little. :)

Edit: Just tried two laps on AT and it kept me in 4th gear for the entirety of both laps expect for the ends of the straight aways when it shifted me to 5th momentarily. Unless it downshifts I wouldn’t be able to make it go much faster, and to make it downshift I’d need to slow down more and that defeats the purpose. Manual is definitely faster in this case. :)

The thing that annoys me about racing the Japanese is they'll rarely hang around to comment. My last race I was #2 at the Nord with a Japanese on Pole. My race pace from 2nd on the grid with a few seconds lead has been 8:38. But it depends where you can pass and how fast the guy in front is. In the last race the leader was either really nervous, or it was his first race of the day, or the phone was ringing, or his Mum just entered the room - but he was not quick. I sat there for some time - I thought I had passed him on the outside at the Aremberg sharpish and fast right hander (you leave the snakey bits, then there are two real curves in three fast straights, and you have a tricky curve leading to the straight where you can touch the brakes but if you mess it up your i the sand) - but anyway he was still inside me so I let him ease in front. I then got alongside him coming out of the Exmühl bridge - which leads onto the two shortish straights that lead onto the long straights of Kesselchen etc. So I moved in front and he also did not shunt me at the next corner critical corner that leads onto those long fast put it on cruise control middle race straights. Sadly he lost some ground there, and I then basically cruised although it was tight.

So after the race i wanted to thank him for being clean - and he just disappeared. Darn - i wish the Japanese would hang around and comment. its possible to be polite and take it nicely. The guy is probably 14 or 16 or 21 - who knows - but its not about winning really. Very frustrating.

Once again, the server is now crap for Australia. I now always race with three or less yellow bars. Outrageous.

That seems to be pretty definitive. For me, the automatic would drop down to 3rd for turn 2 because I braked a little more. I guess I'll try some more with the manual. Thanks. Good work. 👍

Anytime my good Sir. :)

Mt Panorama have always been a struggle for me, but the last two days the McLaren GTR has made me appreciate the track. I have done some more progress on the time (see video) and I know there is another 2-3 10's to get.
I did one race yesterday and the time I thought was stellar for me, yielded me a 13th spot on the grid ..:dunce: Im DR A with 22K points.
It was difficult to brake right after the long straight in the end as the McLaren is soooo fast. Final result was a 15th place with 300 points lost and SR down to 96.
Today was a new PR and video evidence below. Any suggestions are welcome. The two key parts for me was the last turn down the mountain to stay super tight and get on throttle quickly and then after the long straight with a tight turn and then throttle. :gtpflag:

Nice lap! Damn, I thought I might have you this week. That's gonna be tough to beat. Ran 10 laps there earlier...timing's off. Did some mid 1:07's but never really pulled it together.

Thanks, I’ve lost it now lol. I finally shaved a tenth and a half off the first sector only to lose my touch in the final turn so I gave up for the night.

Good Luck!! I hope to have to beat you again tomorrow Sir.

Two weeks ago, I did a Race C in a Lan Evo Gr.3 at Suzuka, where despite the RSR's best attempt to outgun me when it comes to fuel, his battle with an AMG costed him a chance of victory, to which I did take the victory!

Now onto this week's Race C with the McLaren F1 GTR. I set a qualy time of a 2:01.226 with an optimum of a 2:01.200 and an ultimate optimum of a 2:01.154. Race starts and I ran away from the pack from T1, but a Kiwi in a Mustang is the surprise here, as he was pretty fast throughout the race. Slightly ashamed that his undercut didn't go to plan as he just revved his car out without regards to fuel saving...

I ran a few qual laps and put to 03.1 for c race, so I was feeling bold and went in country with the tank...
Started 8 and it was a tight one...Sorry @Pigems but there was no air conflict, it was strictly a ground offensive.
:D. I ended up keeping my powder dry as it was just clean tight racing...
I just managed to gain a bit of ground but not much finishing 7.
It could have been worse, but I just seemed to get a couple good exits when I needed them, although I was overtaken twice I was able to return the favor...It’s a great game when you race with good people.
:bowdown::bowdown: to my highly skilled South American brother in the GTR. You clipped me by a tenth but thanks for being clean. After last nights offensive I was at 98 but back to 99 today 👍. Sometimes you are the lawn, sometimes the lawnmower. The problem guy of course had an sr record in which every dr rise was an sr drop.
900 races deep, he dove on me turn one so I don’t feel bad about sticking it to him in the last turn last night!
Times are good. People are great. Time for a cold one...

Stay thirsty my friends
