It's been a while since I looked at lobbies but when I did, I usually saw a list of rooms with 1 - 2 people max in them. When I happened to find a room which was semi-full, it was just a bunch of people clowning around and drifting (not my thing) so I quickly left. Is there something I'm missing? Maybe I should look into them again.
That's been my experience with the lobbies, too. I went there last night because I saw the blue icon, indicating that one of my friends was in the lobby. I saw one room that said "dirty racers only".

Anyways, I saw that @Pigems was doing a SNAIL race. I entered the room to watch, and immediately some dude told me to get the hell out. I wasn't trying to enter the race. I was just spectating, to see what it was like. I don't see why that should be a problem. By the way, Pigems was kicking ass, in the race that I saw. 👍

I think i'll take the old trusty Subaru to my left to Suzuka tonight. Honestly, I've done so many miles in that car it's due a timing belt.

That car was my go to for a long time, I may just go back to it for this race.

I saw you pop in last night. :) I did do well in that race for sure, I like that combo. I don’t know why people can’t spectate Sunday night races? Maybe due to room capacity? But they have Thursday night practice races that you are more than welcome to spectate or join in on, that goes for anyone else as well. It’s a run through of the Sunday races on thursday, and there are practice lobbies all through the week as well at random times. You should definitely jump in some time to try it out. :)

It did look like a pretty fun car. You were definitely sliding on a lot of the corner entries, which is what I like. I have the most fun and success with the slippery feeling, low-grip street cars. This week, race A is that, for me. The Supra on hard tires is right in my wheelhouse.

I might be able to try a Thursday lobby race. Sundays won't work, with my schedule. Thanks

Hm, that's weird. I imagine FF would be pretty sketchy in the esses. Also, the 4C is MR, right? That's often a great car in Gr.4. Still, 4WD cars and especially the Huracán will probably be very good as nearly always.
I thought so too. but perhaps the Scrubby DR: A ranks can't handle the MR's and prefer the stabilityb and predictiness of the FF layout.
Though I am tempted to take the Scirocco since it looks good and I never raced a FF GR.4 in GTS yet

As you can tell from my posts,i am pretty crap on the track.I tend to race around towards the back of the pack,i dont ruin peoples races and i wont fight against somebody overtaking me if they are clearly faster than me,thats my take on it.Generally most of my races,if you can call them that, have been fun and enjoyable with very little grief, except for last night.:banghead:
Fiat 500 races, did about 5 on the trot got 3 consecutive clean races, finished midpack,no probs.Last race this German player decided to turn it into a punt-fest,i thought the first one was accidental but he went on to punt 4 other players before he gave me a shove.these were deliberate because i saw people in front of him move over to let him pass.Anyway,he comes up behind me,he got a better run of the last corner onto the start/finish straight,i see him close on me so i move over towards the pit wall to give him room,i also dont want an episode going into the first corner.Bang.He rams me,which spins me,no need for it at all,and off he goes on his merry way to punt the next person.Later on around the track hes obviously had an off and hes right in front of me,sorry to say but i punted his ass like a goal kick into the middle of next week! The 3 second penalty i got was so worth it.Sorry but i know it makes me no better than him but it looked like he was only there to spoil the party, red mist and all that its not something i do.Dont hate on me.....................👍

you come across this from time to time... everyone trying to be clean and get on with the race, then some lunatic just wants to ruin it. He's probably at home with a few mates and said 'let's have an online race and cause mayhem, it'll be a right laugh'

I just made my first marks and set Q-times for all three races. There‘s room to improve but I know I‘ll get better over the week. 1:59 for A, 2:12 for B with the McLaren, 1:40 with the Motul GT-R for C.

They must have changed the gear ratios (longer) for C. Yesterday I was able to achieve sub :40 times with no problems, today that 1:40 was my best. Also, was running in the Limiter well before turn 1.

I may try A and B today and see what happens. I‘m especially interested in A and hope it‘s not going to be like a firecracker thrown into a hen house...

I know, just gets annoying.A Bit like when you were younger and playing footy outside, the `older`kids walk past and would boot the ball into the middle of next week just for fun!

Why doesn't PD just leave the daily races as is?

Call them Race Fuji, Race Suzuka, and now that they have Autopolis, Race Autopolis.

Someone at PD has an unhealthy sexual attraction to Fuji and Suzuka, given how often they appear in the daily races.

Has there ever been more than 1 week when one of those two track were not featured? If there has been, was there ever more than a two week stretch without these tracks?

Brands Hatch? Catalunya? Red Bull Ring? Seriously. Catalunya was featured ONCE, after it was added, and never again. I would love at least a 6 week break from Fuji, Suzuka, and the Tokyo tracks.

The Supra's extremely loose, which is fine until Fuji's run off decides its ice and spins it around. Ill never understand why PD's physics make it that way, its the same with their stand still start launches.

I know the daily race is over but I tried the Yank Tank (Ford GT) as @Invisigoth named it at Bathurst and I wish I hadn't. It guzzles up fuel like no tomorrow. I had to pit on L4 with 0.6 fuel remaining and even after filling her up to full, it wasn't quite enough with 4 laps remaining. So I had to use a combination of FM2 on non-straights and FM3 on the straights for 1.5 - 2 laps. I also switched to Hards for the remaining 5 laps because Mediums weren't cutting it down the mountain. Especially around The Dipper and Forrest's Elbow where my tyres were smoking hot. Fortunately I managed to stay on the track throughout and with a starting grid of P4, I finished P7. It was an interesting challenge but not one I'd like to take up again.
Might want to give the GT another try. It can be shifted at 1/4-1/3 of the rev gauge and not loose any speed, but probably gain a lot of MPG. It has a lot of over-rev, and I used to rev it way past flashing, then I noticed that my ghost (reving it way up) wasnt' pulling away when I shifted with barely anything showing on the gauge. Try it out...

That Supra on hard tires, at Fuji is quite a handful without TCS. Respect to those who can handle it at TCS 0.
It also helps, doing nearly 1,000 kms combined, in five differently tuned Supras.

I've got a 594BHP/1280kg Drift Supra, 399BHP/1383kg Gr.4 tuned version(racked up 585kms in this one), two standard(one yellow, one white) and the matte grey with only a suspension tune.

I've been anticipating and reading about this car in the Supra thread, I'm just happy to be "driving" it. :)

I know we are on to other tracks, but let me share a Bathurst experience this weekend.
I have been driving this track extensively during the week in the McLaren and got my qualifying time down to 2:03.834 and on Saturday it yielded me a 7th place on the grid. Just after start I benefit from a car going off track so I'm 6th on the first lap until I get pushed off the track after the long straight so now I sit in 13th place.🤬
This is when it starts to get interesting.
I keep my head down and decide just to run my race and a great battle with Sniperdawg72 ensue for two laps. I had decided to pit end of lap 4 as the tires fell off in the 5th lap in previous races.
As I come out on my out lap I'm sitting at 13th. I run a nice a clean outlap and when I come around to start my 6th lap I'm sitting in 9th !! :gtpflag:
Did I just do my most epic undercut ever ? From 13th to 9th in an undercut
I have a few cars infront of me that just came out from the pits so now I'm smelling blood in the water. I have good pace and with some luck and an epic pass up the mountain on Insanethane in a Lexus on lap 8 I end up as 6th ... a net gain on one spot from where I started. Way better than I thought when I got pushed on the first lap.
It's races like this that makes me love this game. :gtpflag:
The full race is memorialized in this video.:D

It's tricky though, i always pit lap 4 as yeah you lose a lot of pace on lap 5 but once i got really burnt. Came out from the lead right behind p5 and P6 having a fierce battle. I was 2 seconds in front before i pit and next lap p2 is RIGHT UP MY BUMPER. i was surprised he did not leapfrog me but upon reviewing the replay he binned it at forest's elbow and lost a couple of seconds there. basically, the traffic cost me 4 seconds, if not more.

Any extra player in a lobby is just another place all of the connections have to go through. It's to limit lag or connection issues.

And there is the fear a random will jump in before the race starts and cause problems. Usually there are streams posted in the SNAIL thread to watch. We need someone in @Pigems division to stream next time.

I’d do it if I knew how, How does it work?

Practiced the race C with time of day 12. Off course, PD likes, that the sun shines in your eyes and track is little more slippery. Especially in shadow areas.
Always nice to have less grip...

Had to change driving style a bit to accomodate the reduced grip. 1:36.238 opt. was 1:35.9xx Again I struggle with front end grip. Please PD some ability to tune cars....

I do not like fuji, and in the few laps i tried this morning the sura is really hard to drive below tc2. Maybe some suzuka this week but i still have much to learn about keeping pace in thr race cars... might not see much of me this week

What's Ive noticed is if one players connection is bad, 2 different players with good connection can see lag. I dont get why. But I've had green bars and guy ahead of me has green bars and I see him get the lag zoomies looking at drivers list guy behind me had a lil red dot. Im not sure if its related but whenever I see lag zoomies I look over at the connections to see if its me first if all (0_0) then to see who's the issue.

I've also had full on Green going into race then mid race drop to red. Happenes maybe 1 time out of 50 or so, so not like its me being cheap on my internet and being aware it so Im at fault, connections are simply not 100%, 100% of the time and some if us live in high density population our connections vary with traffic loads.

Did a few Race A after getting up, looooong night of work yesterday. Got a decent Monday morning Q Time 1:54.5XX DS4 no Assist. But DRA / SR S the DR A+ on pole was running 1:52.5XX Q time I was just glad to be under 10 seconds behind him at the end lol 8 seconds off his bumper at finish but to be faIr was my 3rd race in this event.

Did a few practice laps for Suzuka this morning. Then went to KP to find my time. Pressed ctrl+f on page 2 for a long time but got frustrated not finding my time.

Turns out it was on the 1st page. :dunce:
I love Mondays. ;)

Tried 1 race. Barely survived. Mostly good drivers. Not all.

After ~3 weeks, it’s time to replace the rig with the living room table.
I’m not a fan of the Supra, I despise Suzuka (mainly because of Spoon) and I don’t really like Autopolis either. Not that I’ve tried it, but still...
But, after have my 3 favorite tracks (Dradon trail-seaside, Lago Maggiore GP and Mount Panorama) the last month, I can’t really complain
The mountain was good to me. The highest Dr I’ve ever had, and back to Sr S

Have fun!

Acted out the Supra pinball commercial, ended up going sideways and getting bounced and taking out another guy. Got back to second and made a last corner attempt to make a pass. Got the guy loose so I backed off, i wasn't going to win that way yet the whole lobby lost their 🤬 on me. I can control my self but once I'm bounced its gone. People are ridiculous.

Hey bud, that's a nice race. I just wanted to say hey, from a fellow Texan (Austin). I've seen your name around in FIA standings when I compare by State, and I think I've even come across you in a few races but didn't know your name here was different. I have 2 accounts, been using the 2nd one lately which is where I might've seen you: ash_o_333. Take care, and if you're ever in Austin let's race some karts or something.
