I'm going to try one more, then switch to Elite Dangerous which is a lot less dangerous and more stable than Tokyo rumble. 5 sec to go, will I make it into matchmaking this time. This long wait at 00:00 is more exciting than the race itself....

I made it into the room! Couple 1 bar Argentinians, 1 bar Brazil representing, plenty more yellow connections. This gun be good. The hamster in the server must be getting tired.

Next race I got DQ’d on lap 3, there hasn’t even been much contact tonight compared to most nights. Have they tightened things up? Damm, I was on a good run that time too and penalty free, while the two guys in front of me that hit me the final time to get DQ’d each had over 10s in penalties over their cars. They both hit a wall after bumping each other and I couldn’t avoid them after it happened. :lol:

Yes when the router in the neighborhood screws up again. I had that pleasure once where my upload connection was really bad until we lost internet completely. The day it still sort of worked I had 1 bar with perfect download connection. Thus I could see all the cars perfectly fine, while my car was creating havoc on their side :lol: It was like driving with a magical force field extending ahead of my car, punching other cars out of the way, never receiving a penalty.

I tried one more race staying well away from people not to make a mess again then quit as it obviously was a problem on my side. Next day phone and internet were out, which was good, since when the phone goes out as well they hurry up to get things fixed. Next day everything was back to normal, no more lag advantage.

00:00 on the clock, am I doing another race, the tension is palpable. Loading track, waiting for other players, rolling a 20 sided dice to determine who gets disconnected. Still waiting.... Correction, 2 20 sided dice, 2 thrown out, starting 17th of 18.

I finished 3rd, penalty free finally. Despite getting into it with a blocking Argentinian. I passed him cleanly first, then he insisted on diving on my inside for T1. Ok, he pulled it off as I avoided him, I'll give that one a pass, no contact, no wall use. Then he started to screw up hitting the walls in front of me and blocking after every mistake.... When he got up to 34 sec in penalties he finally slowed down.

I actually was in 5th at the end, however the two in front of me had over 20 sec in penalties. +2 SR, so generous. I got draft bumped a bunch of times and tapping the wall after getting bumped from behind doesn't seem to work anymore. Still SR Down for the bumps. However hitting from behind then tapping the wall does work. Congrats PD, it's now even more stacked in favor of dirty driving. Everyone is blocking!

Enough fun, DR still going up despite the disconnects, SR safely in SR.Comedy. More tomorrow.

The reason I can't or won't is because...

Pokey2301 is my main account that started with gtplanet.net and wrs(weekly race series) back in Dec of 2002.

2nd is GTP_Pokey is my WRS account for the WRS.

3rd is Turismo-pokey is for when Turismo-lester asked me to join his team and I am forever grateful!

I would like to join in the fun these Americas guys had...with my 3-4 bar connection to the Tokyo servers, so I'm expecting worse stuff when I connect myself to the Virginia servers with my hypothetical US account...

Lowering SR has a bigger chance of pitting you against drivers closer to your skill level.
Most drivers are in SR.C and SR.B which gives matchmaking a much bigger pool of DR to match you with.
In SR.S you are usually just grid filler for the fast guys.

I would personally get rid of the trophies. They only cause trouble, making people game the system to get easier wins etc, making them more aggressive to get the wins or cheat to get the fastest lap. (For some reason shortcuts still give you the fastest lap. If you want the fastest lap on Sarthe, simply skip the final chicane and ignore the penalty...)

Instead have trophies for total number of clean races and one for consecutive clean races (which is only an achievement in the game atm) as well as a trophy for staying in SR.S for x number of days. More fun trophies for close finishes, lapping like clockwork, staying close with other cars without touching for multiple laps.

Absolutely right. The current trophies cause a completely wrong motivation for many players. The trophies you are suggesting are very good because they would reward proper behavior.

A 2nd place AMG squeezed a 3rd place Mustang onto the grass and they both crashed into the wall. I pressed the 911, s it was blocking a fair bit. Also, it was choosing the wrong racing lines. I used patience and made my move at a weak point(the player wasn't fast out of corners) on the penultimate lap.

RC F is pretty strong in both classes. Hope I can choose Lexus for the Manufacturers Cups.

You can take a screenshot of the podium by holding the Share button on your DS4 controller when you see that moment. That should be the default way to do it, if I recall correctly.

When you're on the PS4 dashboard, you can also access any screenshots or clips you've taken by choosing Capture Gallery, and then choose the game that has the thing you're looking for.

I did a race last night that had two 5 bar Brazilians, a 1 Bar American and a 1 bar Canadian lol.

I either snap a photo of my tv screen to make its quick and easy, or snap a screen shot of the PS4 and share it, then it goes to your profile page on the GT Sport website, from there you can screen shot it with your phone/tablet to get the HD pic on your phone/tablet and then you can upload it to this site from there. :)


On another note, it seemed to be much harder for all of us to get matched together in the lower SR levels, in SR S we were all basically garenteeed to be matched together nearly every race, there must be too many players in the lower SR that’s doesnt allow for consistent matchmaking.

Don't be afraid to race. You have to anticipate what they are doing. It is pretty easy to see a dirty driver, you just have to know how to handle them. It takes practice! Trust me, I know!

I race but most of the time back off if I notice a clown who's stacked up penalties or a cat fight between a group of drivers. Being baited or directly involved with the dirty driver(s) usually results in a less than favorable outcome for me and them. In a lot of cases, the group end up taking each other out or if it's one driver, they end up going off the track from being too aggressive.

It's just having to deal with them doesn't make for a very fun experience to me or anyone else in the race. The less to deal with, the better so I try to stay at S where at least there's less in numbers.
 
Got my Lambo time down to 2:07.5 this morning, the racing last night definitely helped. I gained almost 5 tenths on that time through T1 and T2 on the next lap but clipped the wall coming out of T2 and blew it. I could probably gain a bit of time in the second last corner too, I missed the apex there and had to hold off on the throttle a bit. I could probably could get on it a hair sooner in the final corner as well but she will spin a bit there if you’re too early too. I’ll keep working on it. :)



TCS 0, BB +2, I thought BB was on 0 all this time until I just looked. :lol:
 
I got tired of being flanked by surprise spawned melee swat team multicultural gang people, in the Division 2 and gave Race B a try. I love Interlagos but my sense of self-entitlement for my inside exit lines constantly gets me in trouble there. I was in the middle of an awesome 3 way battle for 5th place with two other drivers. We're swapping places, running safely side by side, and no one is even rubbing... it was great.

Then on turn 10 (Cotevelo/Elbow) 5th and 6th place go two wide into the corner. 5th place goes early apex to block the inside and 6th place tries to late apex but loses his back end out in the middle of the track as I'm approaching 5th place's tail at the apex. Me and 6th place are overlapped through the brake zone as he's losing his back end and Tokyo drifting out and away from the apex.

At this moment I'm thinking, "God I hope he knows to fade to the outside both for more traction and to get out of my way.

Nope. He stays middle track and I hit him on his rear flank as he begins to turn right to setup turn 11. I end up PITting him sideways as he's counter steering and now I'm a snowplow. He ghosts and I get a 2nd penalty, a red B, and 6th place. :dunce:

I know that as long as I avoid snowplowing them I can get away with that hit cleanly but at this point I should just assume that people are going to chop my exit line and back out, if I ever want to get out of SR B.
 
Had an absolute mare last night at Interlagos, lost my A SR rating. Although I was in with some much faster drivers in every race. I think I may have out qualified myself slightly this week as my race pace, on average, is 2 seconds off and just not fast enough to compete.
 



I want to share this race from a few days ago in Interlagos. I'm pretty average but it was a fun race.
I started 4th and trailing the top 3 for most of the race. At some point the two Audis upfront got into a scramble and one of them came with the short end of the stick.
I managed to move up to third and kept close to top 2.
For some reason the guy in 4th (one the Audis) lost it and went in like a missile taking out the other Audi in front. After that it was a 2 way battle between the Mercedes and me. I should've defended better at some points but since I like to brake early to get better exits I didn't want to close the door and get hit by the other guy so I always left space. I managed to win by getting a better exit on the last corner, getting the win by .165 or so. I think I did a pretty clean and consistent race for the most part. The Mercedes guy even commened my clean racing.
Went for the cockpit camera which is the one I use when I play, I like the immersion even if it's not the best. Also using motion control on the DS4.

Depends on the room, if it’s a fast room a no stop on hards is probably best, in slower room a one stop on M/M works well, or you can no stop Mediums but they get a little understeery by the end.

Good stuff, thanks. Hards is probably the way to go for me. Usually get placed mid pack or further back of faster lobbies.
