Fixed for you.
But it *is* a passing zone... for those without penalties
Fixed for you.
Yes, I set a 1'36.926 in qualifying but I'm no where near comfortable with this car, making way too many mistakes at the moment, not helped by other laggy cars mind, I swear this ruins my grip and once you go off you lose way more grip. Also having never done a grid start (with false starts possible) I of course did that to ruin one race too. Then there's the overtake button, still trying to figure out how to best use that. Lots to learn here.![]()
How were you able to do it? I haven't figured it out yetI've mapped my Overtake button to my DS4's L1 button...

That's a game changer. It will be a huge factor at La Sarthe. Lots and lots of restarting your lap after Tertre Rouge. So with the new penalties zones in Daily races now, in qualifying if you cross the line with a penalty the lap doesn’t count, even if it it’s better than your best lap with the penalty, I like that.
If you've done a 1:36.9 I'd say you must be fairly comfortable with the car! I can see you're currently 12th for EMEA
For the grid start I put TC to 1 and that seemed to do the trick. Just flicked it back to 0 once I was in third gear.
I'm still working out the overtake button too. You seem to get quite a bit to use to it's just working out when and where to use it that helps the most. My assumption is accelerating from the slower corners, so after the hairpin and after spoon towards 130R primarily.
Have you worked out a pit strategy? I'm assuming a no stop isn't possible because of the amount of grip you'd lose, but when I pitted I had 51% fuel so didn't take any more. I didn't touch the fuel map, just short shifted occasionally. I am 3 seconds a lap slower than you though![]()
I saw the triple arrows on my dash for the KERS(?) gauge, like a chevron, and saw the same chevron on the back straight, so I assumed. I haven't raced FIA, so am not familiar. Am I correct in assuming that the boost doesn't work in timed practice?Fixed for you.
Got the Ferrari down to 52.0, I’m really liking race A this week.
I got a question.
Will it hurt my DR or SR if I leave pre race?
I’m finding out and I know its been discussed that if you are not at least top 5 or finish top 5 (in my experience) you lose DR.
I raced DTS2 two more times (I’m B/S 99). The first race I was placed at P10 with guys or gals that where at least a second faster than me (standing at 1:48.4). I finished the race gaining P9. I had no chance of catching everyone esle unless they die the chicane. I lost 300 that race.
Second race was worse because I started P9 I got to P7 but got knocked off track by someone who didn’t brake in time and I fell to last place.
In both races I lost 406 DR points. I started to get fussy and left.
I run into the same crowd, especially those races I mentioned. Usually I try to avoid that and I want to in the future by leaving pre race.
I gained 11k during my vacation and I don’t wanna lose it because of where I’m placed.
Did a couple of Race B's this morning. First race was super clean, everyone with Blue SR rating at the end and no penalties.
2nd race not so much. I did notice on the last lap though, that 2 cars ahead of me had penalties and on entering the penalty zone, they didn't slow down or ghost.
They had to take their penalties to the finish line, yet both idiots, on the racing line then tried to slow down to deplete the penalty. They didn't ghost and the penalty didn't deplete, but what did happen was they caused a few crashes with others, including me rear ending them and losing places. The car I hit got an extra penalty at the end, and I go a clean race star.
So, if you have a penalty on the last lap, does the system make you take it to the finish line and add it to the final race time?
I got a question.

In the run-up to the penalty line, cars that have a penalty get a sort of yellow loading bar. You can see this underneath their penalty. If it's you, I believe it says something like "you'll be slowed down at the next penalty line" or something. In the FIA races it depends how close to the penalty zone you get the penalty that dictates if you serve the penalty on that lap or the next lap. Exactly how close you are to the penalty zone you need to be for this in unclear. But essentially, receive a penalty shortly before the penalty zone then you'll drive straight through the zone on that lap, then serve the penalty next time around. If it's the last lap then your penalty gets added to your time.
I imagine there will be a period of adjustment while people get used to this. I'm sure what you saw was two people trying to get rid of their penalties the old way, not knowing what the new system is. I'm sure there will be a fair amount of this going on over the next few days so one to watch out for.

I wouldn't worry too much about qualifying times, and the longer and more technical the track, the less I would worry. I ran a bunch of races at the Nord 24 from the back, and had a bunch of top 6 finishes and some podiums, and even a win. When I finally qualified I did a 8:24.xxx, yet I podiumed in a room where the top 10 were all below that time. Even on a short race I think you'll find that race pace is usually 1 second or more below the Q time. Often the fastest lap is only equal to the#10 qualifying time, or worse.I got a question.
