This probably means next week they'll make a one-make Race C for the Toyota version...and it's probably gonna be at Fuji...
SHHHH don't say that!!!!

I'm still waiting the april fools comment for the race C must be Honda comment? Is it really truth? :D
It'd be a terrible April Fool's joke if that was the case. It really is only with the Honda version.

Soooo I was looking at our lord and savior's (Lester) clip on the A race. I noticed that when he exited the hairpin, he went from 2nd gear to 4th (for just a frame) and then to 3rd. That has me really curious... I'll be taking out the shifter and mess around with it.

... Unless if I'm missing that the car is not in manual. I'm about to check.

E- yeah it seems like he found a way to shift faster. The method? I have no idea. All I know is that I've already misshifted 20 times and I am about to drive myself insane with this shenanigans. Kaz, pls.

Yeah race C truely is a Honda one make. So I purchased the wrong one.....

Ah well, I'll buy the Honda as I've been looking forward to racing in the SF. And it is a grid start too so that's going to be interesting!
Yep, I'm gonna buy the Honda as well, as I've also been dying for more open wheel races. They're the type of car I'm best at driving (along with any car on an oval), and I'm much closer to the "aliens" in them than I am with other car classes. I've been slowly saving up money to buy the Ford Mk. IV, but this is gonna set that back quite a ways...AND I still have to make another livery for it...

I had entered this week's daily race B where I finished third. I entered again and finish i 6th. Now I'm looking forward to enter race A so I can repair my DR.

First race

Starting 10th for the SF19 race. Gotta say, the Honda handles way sharper than the Toyota. See where I end up.

Edit: ARRRRGH! Just got disco'd!!!

I know what it is. Been reading up on them and watching the real world reveals and real world Tests, since the cars were announced.

I've mainly driven the Toyota since day one. Used the Honda for a few laps in that time. The Honda. of course, sounds different. However, it feels different. To me. Feels tighter on turn in. Felt lighter and more responsive in those couple laps over the Toyota. Even though I went faster in the Toyota.

Was able to get in Race B with no problems during the race.

Edit: Got in Race C. Carnage at the start fell to 17th, but pressed on.

Can't say as I need *another* Gr3 . But I'm sure it's handy for people who have just started GTS. I find the idea of 12 mins lapping BB mindnumbingly tedious. For 8 odd mins I get 230,000 doing 3 laps of la Sarthe and no worrying about any clean bonus crap 👍.

Funny thing though is that for the ovals, I am now relatively quick for my standard. I seem to be often around 300 plus or minus 60 for qualifying times for Asia. But for the BB circuit, I was 22nd. So you must be very fast at Sarthe I reckon. The curious thing is that for the oval circuits, I drive behind the car. Otherwise, I use the bumper cam. I cannot see the traffic on an oval with the bumper cam, but now, I am used to the rear view on ovals. Also, I can place the car closer to the edges of the oval and its walls with the rear view. An issue I have with speed is touch corners - due IMO to my use of the bumper cam.

PS sorry about the attached image ... I cannot delete it.

And I bought the Toyota open wheel car for race C - but it did not work. Then there was a notice from PD saying that in order to use the car, it had to be setup a certain way. But I could not figure that out... now you guys tell me its open only to the Honda version. Looks like a couple more races on BB for me.

Race C.... how's the overtake button? i.e. is it active in certain zones? I did notice on the patch notes it said it will be activated in certain zones but in the lobbies it was able to be activated anywhere on track.

Also, how long does it last? overtake multiplier x2.0 in the lobby seemed to a bit generous....

Are the SF cars like the W08 in that you can’t use the gas and brake at the same time?

I didn't take not of zones. I used it at launch and in turns as well.

Hectic start

Not sure, as I didn't try any trailbraking or duel pedal action.

Oh

Want to try the car so it's good on Daily A, nice!
Yeah, it's nice. I had one in GT6. Feels to be worth the 12.5mil.

Wow, hectic start was an understatement lol

Pretty sure you can trailbrake the SF19. My practice at Monza I could. Felt like it anyway.

Sweet, I was hoping so. If you’ve driven the W08 you’d know for sure, the gas pedal doesn’t work at all when the brake is engaged even a little bit.

Did a race C and racing in the SF did not disappoint. Started in P3 and the first lap was as hectic as you'd expect. Picked up a 4 second penalty because I was punted into someone else who went off, but these things happen. Got back up to P3 and had an awesome battle with a Spaniard for P2. I almost had it but messed up the final chicane.

The qualifying times were very mixed as there's obviously lots of people who haven't got to grips with the car yet. I rammed into someone at Degner 1 as they braked REALLY hard for it. You can take that corner flat out, with perhaps a slight lift or dab of the brakes at the most but I swear they changed down 2 gears for it. They stayed on the track so no penalty.

Yes you can brake and step on the gas at the same time.

Brilliant race though, loads of fun.

I did some qualifying in the Ferrari 250 GT and I'm 4 seconds off the top aliens. Looks like I'm doing it wrong in some way.

Nice car and I like that PD is giving us the opportunity to use more expensive cars. The last I recall was the 250 GTO at Brands Hatch so hopefully we see more of these combos. At 12.5m credits, I won't be owning one any time soon.

This is more likely than you think. The campaign races for SF include Suzuka, Fuji and Tokyo Expressway (:scared:) so it wouldn't be surprising at all.

I want to say you can but I’ll watch a replay to be sure. I have been, at least I thought I was. One thing about F1, you get the same effect if you just lift the accelerator. The down force at higher speeds acts like a brake. I go easy on braking because it will lock up so easily. In fact, you’ll probably not have to many occasions where you’ll brake outside of straight line braking with SF19.

I didn’t do any race at all last week. DTII isn’t as fun as DT. Got my Q down to 49,xxx, but couldn’t be bothered with it.
And as this week is DT Gardens, Maggiore II and Suzuka, the rig is stored for the week.
I’d love it if the locked the races at Lago Maggiore GP, Mt Panorama and DT for a month or two. And just cycle them in race A, B and C. Or lock all of them in race C settings:D

Well, I had a bit of time before work, so I bought my SF19 and painted it. I can't wait to race it. It should be fun. I did a couple of partial laps to check it out. I'm glad we're on a track I know. Looks like the overtake button doesn't work in practice, but I did see a passing zone (yellow arrows) on the back straight. Driving with no TCS is fun. 2nd gear I really need to be straight because its very hard to accelerate without spinning tires, especially with the throttle the way it is. I think you would loose alot with TCS, since 3rd gear will take full throttle with a lot of steering input, and you feel the tires creeping, but they hold. With TCS it might just kill that acceleration. Others can let us know there... this is the first car I've driven that I drove off of the inside of a corner, multiple times. T1 can be taken wide open in 6th...but you'll never make T2 if you do.(don't ask) I also drove off the inside of the fast kink at the end of the back straight. Can't wait to see you all out there.
Now work.

Yes, I set a 1'36.926 in qualifying but I'm no where near comfortable with this car, making way too many mistakes at the moment, not helped by other laggy cars mind, I swear this ruins my grip and once you go off you lose way more grip. Also having never done a grid start (with false starts possible) I of course did that to ruin one race too. Then there's the overtake button, still trying to figure out how to best use that. Lots to learn here. :dopey:
