I'm kinda looking forward to Daily Race A for next week. I need to recover my SR and that seems like the perfect place to do it, for me.

And until that happens, I'll be avoiding Daily Race B, since that seems like a recipe for dead SR. Although I did enjoy driving Gr.4 cars at that track the last time around (which wasn't that long ago, PD)...

Decided to switch TC completely off in a race today - pretty stupid to do it without trying it out first. Went from 8th to 16th (last) in about a quarter of a lap after 2 big spins! :dunce:

I'll miss this race (the B) - it's been good fun and apart from a few punts, generally well behaved.

I did a Race B and lapped a guy twice because he was using wet tyres.

I don't have any other meaningful words for this situation.
His weather app said it's gonna rain, so he came prepared.

@CLowndes888 but haven't you read what they said about weekly races, apparently it's what we asked for lol

I'm sure most of the "askers" came from their management who couldn't keep paying for maintenance of daily races..

Absolutely essential to get it off, though. Don't get down on the results, in the long run you'll be much faster without it.

Basically adding horsepower to the car you've been losing all this time, it just comes with the stipulation that you must learn to control it. If you're on the controller, I recommend using the chase cam. I tried using the Hood View with Controller and without TC and it was a nightmare. DS4 and Chase cam are pretty much the best combo, especially without driving aids.

The Manufacturers Race is even more fun with all the Gr.4 cars. Felt like proper GT4 races. I think only one Scirocco , an Atenza and one Evo were in my races. Everything else were Mustangs, AMGs, C7s, Cayman, another RC F(now that I switched manufacturers, Jags. NO Meganes or TTs or Slophys or Huracans, Oh my!

If PD repeat Lago West II, open the event to all Gr.4.

I'd been turning it down gradually and never noticed much difference.... but it seems there's a big difference between 1 (ok, may have been 2 on that car) and 0 !! Certainly wasn't expecting it. I'm using a wheel so I don't really have a good excuse..... :)

It certainly does depend on the car! I could barely drive the Peugeot VGT on the Nurburgring without TC on, I felt ashamed having to turn it on, but I was on some sort of crazed vendetta to make that car work on that track. Granted, I was also trying to use hood view, but I don't think it would've made much a difference to be honest.

The Supra is another car that I can only imagine would be very difficult to drive without Traction Control if you were previously used to it being on all the time.

Which wheel are you using?

That has got to be a record.

That was what I was going for. The server hasn't got around to updating me again yet, but since the old record has been there forever, I'm pretty sure I got 1st place now :)

After it going so well at the front yesterday I wonder why I bothered doing it all in the back field. Until I reminded myself of all the red rooms I saw early in the week and having to dodge the fast A/S, A+/S guys that kept being put back behind in the penalty zone. Plus yesterday I only had a few rooms with A/S drivers in it. Most were C/S, very clean steady drivers, no trouble having close races with them. Or maybe I just got lucky. I like people that always keep some space between the cars :)

Man I’ve put in a couple sessions trying to break 47 and it’s tough!. I STILL have no idea how people get time outta the 911 and R8.
I suck with those cars. For me they are crash specials!
I do love battling them though!
Bring that cheese to the straight...lol.

Repetition I guess, The 911 responds very well to a slow in fast out approach. It takes a lot of practice to nail the entry speed right at the edge of traction and where to avoid the kerbs. Absolutely no breaking out makes you go faster. As opposed to one Corvette driver last week that thought he was doing a drift challenge. Can't pass that either lol.

However I don't dare change cars now. I'm so dialed in to the 911 atm that I'm sure I'll crash as soon as I switch. I just don't understand how I can have such consistent lap times in race, sometimes all within 0.100 sec of each other, yet when I qualify it looks like a mess! The difference must be no risks at qualifying and I start pushing too hard. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast to quote one of my favorite entry messages I've seen.

Been hot lapping Race B on and off all morning. Finally dipping below the 47s with a 1:46.994.
Used the Porsche.

Within 3% of the fastest in Euro region, so happy with that too as I don’t reach that often with Group 3 cars.

Could probably lap consistently in the 47s, so might have a race or two later on.

Instead of it getting easier to avoid contact, it got a lot harder at lower DR. I did all races without qualifying and the lower my DR dropped the more unpredictable and unsteady the competition became. There were many people that somehow manage to turn one corner into three corners as if there were a bunch of cones on the track they had to snake through. I have found new respect for those trying to get out of DR.D. Racing there is tough even when driving 6 seconds above your pace.

We don't drive down here in DR/D.... we use the Force! Yer in my world now sucka ! (although I see you have sneaked up the ladder again :dopey:).

Cool how the Toyota 86s are racing at Phillip Island and Race C is happening.

Like Catalunya.. when I read Philip Island, I think bikes .

Congrats on the First Dub man!! That’s awesome.

Drugs are bad m'kay? Don't do dubs!

I don't have any other meaningful words for this situation.

:lol::lol:. I'm just waiting for the long awaited races that involve weather that was hinted at many moons ago. And the chaos that will follow :sly:.

Did manage a win by defensive driving against someone who's fastest lap was 1.5 seconds faster in Race C. It helps when some people are unwilling to roll the dice on a move.

Nnnnnnno... You did read the interview, right?

Does not refute any of my points. There's no extra work in choosing a more balanced track/car combinations list than trying to find new ways of repeating the same Japanese tracks, which is what they are doing now.

Is it? All we know is that it doesn't appear - from our point of view - like there's been that much of a change yet. There may be logistical reasons for it that we're simply unaware of. It's a bit early to start jumping to conclusions about who cares how much about what.

It's enough for me to make a conclusion, as a player of the game.

I don't really see what's productive about getting cross about it right now.

Well obviously - there's nothing inherently productive about discussion forums in general.

It's enough for me to make a conclusion, as a player of the game and knowing how businesses work.

I don't really see what's productive about getting cross about it right now.

Obviously. There's nothing inherently productive about most interactions in this forum, same with any other discussion forum.

The T300RS - the car was the Jag F Gr.3. Will do a bit of practice on Time Trial 👍

A long time ago, I remember switching my tyres from Hards to Intermediates purely on the basis that they sounded better :O.

I'm not sure how long it took me to realise but I'm sure I raced several times in them. I wonder how many other people have done this.

Oh boy, you just admitted that....... on the Internet!!!

:lol::lol:

I'm sure there's plenty have done something similar.... see Famine's earlier post?

Pretty stoked today. I won some awards at work yesterday and started my day off with a win (granted, after two losses because of mistakes).

I still hate the clean race counter. It HAS to be broken. I made contact in a race last night and got the bonus. Made no contact this morning and only had the bonus once. Maybe they need to explain it better because I don't get it (literally and figuratively)

Great start of the day

I must have horseshoes the size of boat anchors working for me
YK7E34U.gif

A+/s and B/S driver started fighting and another B/S in front of me got in the middle.

@Voodoovaj I find the clean race bonus the most consistent yet on this track. However I avoid the kerbs and don't cut the chicane at the end. Only 2 wheels on the kerbs, always 2 on the track. Time penalties for 'shortcuts' are inconsistent. Contact only removes the clean race bonus when you see the SR Down arrow. Check where you miss an SR up arrow for a sector to figure out where you lose it. (You don't get SR up for the final sector lap 4 of the race, threw me off before)

This week is going to feel empty without a GR3 race. Easily my favourite class and there should be one every week :)

I will have to see if i can get some gr3 lobby racing going but it's usually unexciting and hard to fill a room. For the longest time ive thought gt needs casual races sort of like the sport setup. Have the casual races change daily with a seperate hidden DR to matchmake and seperate shown SR as to not taint sport ranks. In my opinion lobbies just cant replace official unranked races. Lobby hosts are wildly inconsistent when it comes to time between races and settings. Idk thats just how i would breathe more life into gt. People who dont like the current week sport races or just wanna race without worrying about sport ranks can hop on and do those races plus with them refreshing everyday it wouldn't get as stale and provide a break from sport while still having penalties and stuff to keep it clean and organized. Not sure if there is enough player base for it to work but i think it sounds good. Thoughts?

quick edit for one more point about lobbies and why i dont enjoy looking for one... SSRX.

Not much daily racing this week since I got caught between work related and household/home stuff but I liked the races this week and had some good turns at B and C.

However next week is a joke. Currently I am waiting for wednesday and saturday for the manufacturers cup. These races offer a challenge, diversity and most importantly fun.

Now we‘re at the point where PD successfully turned the dailies from a serious game to a casual game.

Absolute joke.

VLN today was thrilling for two laps. Temperatures were around 0 celsius and drivers had problems keeping the tires and brakes on temperature. Then Snow started to fall on various parts of the Nürburgring meaning some of those slick-equipped cars spun and went off: red flag on Lap 2 and about 2h later they decided to call it a day and not restart since the snow wasn‘t melting due to the low temperatures. I wonder about all the possible combinations of japanese tracks once weather will be implemented.:dunce:
