It stems from my belief that people dont deserve to be top 10 if they are using active stability management or counter steer assist. If you can get top 10 with it, you should be able to without.
This is the reason why I agree with you. I also think the people who use these assists don't deserve top 10 places. Also it gives me allot more satisfaction when driving a hot laps or winning races without any assists except for ABS. The only assist I use is ABS on default her and there some TCS on 1.

Happy Monday everyone. :)

Yeah, it was past my bed time @Sven Jurgens , Great racing last night man, that was super fun.

Aren't you glad now you 'suck' at GR.3. Battling in the back is always more fun! Great driving!

This week, hmm. I suck at GR.2, like start last, stay last suck on Suzuka. Perhaps now I have the sensitivity on max I might be able to keep some pace. It worked for the SF19. Worth a shot. Maybe I'll take a peek on Tokyo, yet that variant is so bleh. Why not the new south loop again :/

I’ve got the Honda down to a 1:11.8 so far, I lost at least 2 tenths in the final corner though according to my next couple of laps, but it’s only Monday so it’s a good start. Good for #9 in NA for a few minutes, only #4 on my friends list though.

Great Laps @Mistah_MCA and @QC YALUM

Nice lap, I like the way you balance the brake and throttle through the last corner. I need to try that more. I've managed a 1:11.7 but can see there's a little more to be had!

Yeah I definitely do suck in comparison to how well I can do on other combos, Gr3 and Gr2 just kill me, im too throttle happy. I’m working on them though and definitely getting faster. I look forward to chasing you again this week around Suzuka!

Thanks, it’s a fun little car. Nice lap to you too man!! It’s funny because I was actually trying to get off the throttle a little more, the top guys seem to coast a lot more than I do between turn in and apex and it lets them get back on it sooner and turn a little tighter, it doesn’t work like that IRL but that’s how this game goes. Good luck with it. :)

@Pigems @Sven Jurgens

you guys are DS4 users right ? How do you manage the tyre wear with the controller ?
I'm kinda giving up on the FIA races because of how driving with DS4 uses tyres faster than wheel, but I know that some of you are managing to get (pretty) good results in high tyre wear races with DS4.
So I'm thinking of trying the race C to train for this, so do you have tips for me to keep the tyre wear to a minimum ?

@Sven Jurgens would be the guy to talk to about that, I actually use a wheel. But there are a few other DS4 guys in here as well so hopefully they can chime in with some help for you too. Sorry that I can’t be of much help in this case man.

Edit: I decided to start were I left off last time we had this combo with Race B, the 4C, it’s really good on this track. I got it down to a 1:17.9, I don’t think I’ll be beating this lap the rest of the week, it was a pretty good run. It’s a tough combo to get the most out of without clipping a wall somewhere. :)

@Pigems converted to the wheel. I'm on DS4 and yep tires do wear faster it seems. I value smooth driving, slow in fast out, and staying off the kerbs whenever possible. I also use TCS on 2 which helps, ABS default. Getting the entry speed just right, minimum tire squeal during the race, smooth steady lines, no over corrections, it all helps. What helps most is not getting punted early on. Early damage adds up.

Over driving, putting wheels next to the track, attacking the kerbs, that's all murder on the tires. It also depends a lot on the car you drive. For example Ferrari is no good for daily C, it eats tires. It also depends on the drive train and you can compensate a bit for uneven wear with brake balance or using mediums in front, hards in back to combat understeer.

Another good thing about not qualifying, starting last, is that you start the race slow. Very good for tires which carries over during the race while you are speeding up and out pace those that murdered their tires early on.

I can almost guarantee I will NOT be faster in the meta-car-of-the-week. Ran Barcelona a few times, tried Q laps in the Atenza, Jag, 911, R8LMS, and RC-F, ended up still being faster in the Mustang, so that's what I raced. This week, well, meh. Maybe Suzuka?
definitely, I found that the beetle was the car for me last week, there was never any more than 1 or 2 others in the race. Plus I have an awesome Senna JPS paint job :).

Haha it was a good race until I got caught staring at your, uh... Livery. Well done man.

@Voodoovaj is killing it tonight with the top 5 finishes in every car known to man, awesome stuff, well done!!

Ugh...that was my last race. I REALLY wanted a win with the 458 but I could not get hooked up in the races. I was in the low 1:46's with it in practice, but the dynamic of the races prevented me from being smooth and I just...I just could not make it happen. :(

This brings me to a point I'd like to make about sportsmanship that gets far too little intention: Being a poor winner or an entitled jerk. Look, if you are a fast dude, great, but your pace is not a get out of jail free card. Work for the position. Drive appropriate for those around you. If you are fast, a clean pass shouldn't be that much of a challenge. If it is, then you aren't as fast as you think. I won't name names, but there were a few "S" drivers last night that were WAY too high on themselves.

Last night I saw a fast guy fall to midpack and then lose it on a another driver that he (horror of horrors) had to actually PASS, and in failing to pass him cleanly, got himself a 2 second penalty.

I was also really disappointed to see a high end driver get into a homophobic slur contest with an A driver who was obviously at a competitive pace.

If Lewis Hamilton himself were in the race, he wouldn't have been the massive (insert vulgar descriptor) that these folks were being, and I have run into them before, they are always entitled jerks. Don't be that guy. Win and lose with some semblance of grace. Losing is why there is glory in victory.

Lastly, interesting tidbit that I learned from driving the different cars is that the brake balance approach that is generally accepted (move bias forward to help cure over steer and reward to help cure under steer) is definitely, 100%, NOT as general as I have believed.

the GR3 458 case in point. It has very good brakes. I moved the bias to +1 and it settled down quite a bit (at Catalunya). Same with the 911. I was running +2 and I was more stable than people running -2. Yet, the 4C and RCZ were still definitely better with -2 brake bias.

The take away is to experiment with the brake bias on a car to car basis.

I think I will stick to Race A this week. I HATE HATE HATE the street circuits and I'm sick of Suzuka. PD must get paid every time that race is featured in Race C.

Race B hot lapping in the Alfa - 1:18.170. Optimal is 1:17.470.
Loads of time left on the table, but it does get frustrating with little errors when trying to string the sectors together.

Edit: now down to a 1:17.943. Moved BB to +2 - that helped me be a bit more consistent under breaking.

Target for the day was a sub 18. Happy to get it.

That's me out again for this week. After a great week of Gr.3 last week, and generally courteous driving, did 2 races on A this evening, lost all my (whopping 450 :) ) DR and was punted so many times from the back I'm surprised my SR is still S after all the orange down arrows.

It was awful, with drivers purposely ramming you from the side to knock you off the track, or square on from the back..... to knock you off. Did they get penalties?? ONCE! And one second only. How can it be, if you're hit square on from behind, you lose SR??? It's not like "he had the line" or something.... he was right behind and decided not to brake hoping I would go into the sand, which I did most times. Absolutely infuriating.

Maybe it's the time of night... it's 11pm in Japan right now, so maybe booze has something to do with it.

I'll spend the week taking my cars with no miles out for a run.... this week's "Sport" is not proving to be sporting so far (in Asia)

One consolation.... one of the "drivers" who hit me three times in succession to push me into the sand, I chased, beat my QT doing so, and breathed down his neck so hard that he span off on the last corner of the last lap...... Still left me with an 11th finish after a 7th start.

That was what I was going for. The server hasn't got around to updating me again yet, but since the old record has been there forever, I'm pretty sure I got 1st place now :)

What the name of site that carried the records?

Hello,

I think I was after you in one of those races where you used the 458 Italia Gr.3, you were sliding more sideways than going straight, was nice to see all the wobbling, I used this car the other days and its very difficult. Feels like has a lot of power coming out of the corners, but then when you are straight ready to accelerate then it doesn't has all that 'contained' power. I think the fastest car now is the R8. And the Ford test car sounds so nice when gearing down that I keep using it :) (And I did some victories with it :D )

You need to make an account if you want it to track all your race statistics. The leaderboards work without but you can get detailed race history real time driver rating changes etc.

And have some patience with the site. It's a one man project from @jasguer doing his best to balance life and keep the site going. PD doesn't make it easy changing things all the time. It's a work of love, and it's awesome.

Look at all those tracks PD!
I need to work on Miyabi, BB raceway and Autopolis to get all green inside the blue! Miyabi, anyone remember that one

Got the Honda down to an 11.4

Race a has been fun so far. Started 2nd in the first race and finished 2nd. Got the Pole in the second race and went lights to flag for the Dub. It’s gonna be a fun week in the S660. :)

I guess I lost you again to the slow cars. N100, I can cycle faster  It's so easy to over steer these slow cars on a controller on sports tires, I do not have the patience for it nor the finger dexterity. Good luck!

Haha I’ll get bored and wonder over to Suzuka by mid week, happens every time. I’m never gonna get better at them if I keep avoiding them, I should have just started there this morning. :)

Edit: Got the #3 time,1:11:336 in the Honda! Only @QC YALUM and Lester left to beat. :D

Well as sick as i am of tsukuba this is a fun little combo. Got a time of 1.11.782 and i know i can do better.

Did two races. First had my real life buddy and @O604, and at least one other name i believe i recognized from here (forgive me for having a bad memory for names) was a good race out front for me, not sure how it was for the rest...

Not a bad start to the week.

Next race had @Voodoovaj in it, and i of course had a terrible race. Clipped the grass into the hairpin lap one which sent me sidways into/right in front of the lead pack. After letting them all get by me i kept close for a couple laps the i clipped the grass/dirt going into the left hairpin and spun my way to last. Got one or two spots back by the finish but was not feeling it i guess in that one.

I thought this website was down, but it's actually not. My pgraphic is very different than yours, much less tracks where I race lol

Nice lap. Something possessed me to keep going until I hit 1.17 in my qualifying. I felt I needed a semi-good time to start near pole if I decide to race on it. Racing in the middle of the pack sounds like a recipe for disaster.

I got down to 1.17:9 in 4C as well although I still managed to clip the wall several times which makes me feel I have it in me to brush a few more hundredths off but yeah, no, not now. I feel exhausted after.

Really abysmal selection of races this week. Going to be doing the bits of offline content I left from the last 2 updates, like the Gr1 Endurance race at St Croix and trying for Gold instead of silver at the Red Bull Interlagos race.

Oh, Race A isn't so bad. Going fast in slow cars is always a great way to sharpen your skills. Especially the one makes, where you know the playing field is even.

You say it like it's a bad thing :D.

I'm still not into the 1:11's yet. I'm not sure where I'm going wrong, but I'll work on it this week.

Well I took a few cracks at Suzuka in the GTR, best I could muster was a 1:48.8. It’s gonna be an interesting race, that’s for sure. I remember it being fun last time we had it, stressful too though lol.

Where do you guys find those round graphs? I couldn’t find it on that site anywhere.

Not at all lol always nice to see a name i know and can trust. I just seem to mess up most of the time when i am againts someone i know. Not sure why but i always seem to skrew up at some point :ouch:

A agree completely about the one make races. I would like more n300 or 400 classed cars but i absolutely love the "equal" playing field.
