It confuses me. As I've said on here before... I take pride in a high SR (just don't look at my KP right now...) But race A feels like it wants to be a proper old fashioned banger race. Don't get me wrong. I'm not advocating deliberate punting and ruining it for others. But that one just screams contact and argy bargey and makes me wanna trade door handles! Without tanking SR and getting 3-5 secs for breathing in the same room as someone else. Maybe that's just me.

But I'm sticking with Autopolis and Fuji where driving properly is fun and productive!
After 5 races at A I didn’t had any problems with my SR being tanked. Except for one fella who didn’t want me to pass. But like you say I feel like Autopolis is a “safer” race.

Like you @Sven Jurgens Ive been taking a break from gts
still playing a bit and enjoyed Brands last week.
But like you the penalty system has just been pissing me off lately.
Also I came home from golfing a little drunk last thursday and did a couple races. Might have quit once or twice because I simply wasnt in the mood to care when a couple penalty situations occurred and next thing you know I went from A/S down to B/C in one race .

This weeks races are alright, A is a breath of fresh air even tho its on suzuka again lol but great fun. B is great even tho its boringly slow, shoulda been Gr2 for 6 laps. Why is it always only 4 :indiff:. C is a good race but Im just so bored of it. They should have used the Super Formula to mix it up or used any other track that hasnt had gr2 before...Maggiore??

Im pumped for next weeks race C. Its been way too long and is great fun in Gr3. Couldnt care less for gr4 on interlagos, way too slow and easy to dive on people in those cars.

You can drive clean in Race A. My races have been fairly uneventful in terms of contact. Some minor rubbing, but nothing that'll draw a penalty or ruin your race.

Fair enough. I've only done a few, but they've all had first corner and first lap 'redecorating' mostly caused by the whole pack being together from the grid start! One can get carried away shall we say.

But then again, it's probably more a symptom of my DR and the company I keep!

To my surprise the races i have done have been cleaner than expected, for sure there is exchanged paint, but nothing to rough. Maybe it's the setting with floaty and slow cars and the harsh consequences if you mess up or get a penalty.

So... Autopolis... This evening...

4 races.
4 starts between p11-15.
4 first laps avoiding carnage.
4 climbs through the field.
4 starts of lap 2 in around p6.
4 times punted into the gravel at T1.
4 attempted race rebuilds.
4 races ruined by being stuck with the back markers who seriously can't drive.

As I said. Such is the company kept by DR/D. This is worse than RBR last week.

What's more annoying is, I'm really enjoying the mighty mighty Gr.4 TT. It's a monster in places around Autopolis and I reckon I could actually get some half decent results...

I’m LOVING Race B this week. Gr4 is probably my favourite class (alongside SF19 now) because I can use my beloved TT and Autopolis has just clicked. I’m at 20k DR for the first time (probly nowt to shout about round here but a first for me) and I even picked up a win on Monday, only my 7th in 500 races (a bit different from my 1 in 3 win ratio on GTA!). Apart from my penultimate race tonight they’ve all been clean(ish) too.

Next week with Interlagos (even in Gr4) and a reverse track will probably be a ‘rest week’ mind.

I discovered while practicing daily races that left foot braking in gr3 and gr4 is kind of hard with my big feet and shoes. I inverted my pedals and made them a bit wider and its pretty nice now lol. Just adjusting the angle.

Welcome! Fairly new to posting on the forum myself too. Are you EMEA based? Could do with some locals to compare lap times with who are DS4 users. Feel free to add me on PSN if you want :)

I’m in Oregon but I’ll look you up nonetheless!

Race A has been doing my head in. Not only is that last bend one of the most difficult for me to master, what with the blind entry and the elevation change at the apex and the gravel trap with its own gravitational field, but the cars are all sliding around like an ice cube on Teflon. I thought I knew how to drive with TCS off until I got to the RX-7. Even at half power the wheels are spinning like crazy and I suddenly see the ass-end out my side window! The Scoobie has an amazing start off the line but is slow everywhere else. But when one does manage to stay on the blacktop and motor on serenely there are many places to be gained.

Mostly enjoying getting to know Autopolis in my favorite class of car. The Scirocco holds its own against the more powerful cars and has really good braking into turn one and can get the drop on folks on lap 1.

This should be helpful to you. @Mistah_MCA makes these instructional videos for all three of the weekly races. I like them because he gives explanations about what he's doing.

Nice! That last turn is totally different to how I’ve approached it. I’ve usually braked before the entry, so I’m going to have to try that. LOL at “worlds most okay player”! I can relate.

A total of 30 positions gained over three races, tonight.

I got close to Sr:A last night, so decided to trade in the SC430 for her younger, sexier sister . . Looks like it paid off.

Might have to qualify tomorrow. Starting at the back is going to be a massive hindrance in my next race.

Can anyone enlighten me as to how to get whole world times to appear on my "Friends Ranking" board for daily race qualifying, as I can only see EMEA at the moment. Probably been covered before, I know! Thanks

Got in a few at Suzuka East today. All ended well.

Tried in the Supra. About 1 second slower than my R32 time but I like the handling better and I found it easier to race with. But kind of sucks that my QT is set with the R32. Wish I could set a separate time for the Supra. Makes it fun/challenging though.

Race A - good idea, poor execution. We should be able to pick our own garage cars. The livery editor is the best new feature, absolute insanity that they don't let us use it for racing cars less than 100000cr.

Also Race A should be two laps longer, and on a 15 minute rotation. No race A has ever taken 15 minutes, and at the moment it's absurd that you finish it and have to wait 10 minutes for the next race to start. If it finished a minute sooner then players could enter race B rather than twiddling thumbs.

Race A and B are always too short, one incident and is pretty much over, no time to recover.

Yes. This is something I'm wishing for the near future. The times form the cars you used should remain for your records. I still want to delete my time. I may be in a comparably slower car and does noone good if I'm starting 4th, due to my time and holding up traffic.

So, if anyone has 10 minutes to spare, its critique my racecraft time!! (well actually 5 minutes as the last couple of laps are at the front)

Now I have a racing chair, I actually feel more in control of the car, so I can start to think and really focus on racecraft, I try to be tough but fair, but its very difficult to interpret your own driving without bias.

Also whilst this race turned out ok, there were a couple of moments that I felt could have ended very differently.

A couple of points

- I have racing line on as this was my first race on Autopolis so no criticism :scared:
- Please ignore my slowness and occasional terrible racing lines, I still class myself as a learner after 20 years away from racing games!!!
- I chose the lancer as a figured, no point in being ultimately faster in the 4C if I am not going to enjoy racing in it. I am now in the veyron lapping around a second quicker, which is great in the race as its practically unpassable
