@Pigems, what to do this week? Watch the US Open, or race cars? Maybe set up 2 TVs. I only have 1 TV, and the tournament is at Pebble Beach, which is incredibly picturesque, so I gotta watch. Plus the US open is my favorite tournament, because they set the courses up to be so difficult, that sometimes the winner isn't even under par.

Wow, Race B is over in the blink of an eye. When I thought there was a lap or two to go, I was on the final lap.

Was there ever a Race B shorter than this? I honestly can't remember any.
One lap at Nurb in the 997? I think that was a Race B. Both over 7 minutes?

Yeah man! That’s the way a US Open should be, with the Winner being within a couple strokes of Par one way or the other. I’ll have the PGA Tour/US Open app streaming on my tablet while I race, unless Tiger gets into contention on the weekend and then racing would stop for a while. :)

You’re right about Pebble too, what a beautiful course!! I’ve played it in the simulator, and likely will only ever play it there, But it’s a tough, long, course.

Sorry @watto79 , At least it wasn’t my fault this time. :D

I've made my peace with this thread often being about golf!

These races scare me. Entered race A because I thought people might be able to behave themselves in the 86s, but got punted around all 4 laps and wanted to quit.

Continuing to take SR down for getting punted, doored, sideswiped, and for grinding guys tryna torpedo up the kerbs. I can't even see them, they come blasting off my door and I take the bad boy points for not utterly screwing my line by chucking it over to the outside to give space to a guy using me as a brake.

****ing hell. At this point I wanna quit sport mode and only race on saturdays with you lot - i absolutely don't trust anyone to drive safe around Bathurst. Especially not down in the SR Bs where I seem to be stuck, getting punted around in last place.

I would do race C but I don't seem to be able to get the car around, best lap is hecka slow and if I'm skidding that much on fresh tyres, dread to think what will happen once they wear out.

Somebody kill me - still stuck in the shadow realms, and it's really only because I suck at qualifying so god damn much.

I tried to set Q-Laps for all races but it seems these weeks events are not mine and I‘m far away from being competetive

I've felt similarly with Race B. I was pretty competitive when we had Gr.3 at Bathurst (top 6 starts in most races, won a few) and I'm now starting 10th - 16th being unable to break 1:14.5. I conclude I'm not so great with Gr.4 cars.

That said, it's still a fun race even if it's unlikely I'll be making top finishes and my DR takes a hit. I guess it's part of the game, some tracks/classes I'll excel at while others I won't. I just accept it, take it as a learning experience and continue racing.

You’re doing the right thing!! Weaknesses will always be weaknesses if one shies away from working on them and improving in those areas. The weaknesses are the things one wants to put the most time into working on. :)

I tried Bathurst, this morning and went from 78 SR to 42 in 2 races. In the first race, I got 4 penalties on the first lap. Didn't bother me. It's pretty much my fault, because at the beginning of the week, I just jump into races and start at the back without any practice. Most penalties are from running into the back of really slow qualifiers who are starting ahead of me. They brake in unexpected places. 2nd race, I adjusted and didn't have many problems. When I race without qualifying, clearly I'm not very serious about winning.
Maybe take it a little less seriously, and the bad stuff that happens won't be so upsetting. 👍

I need to try some different cars. I've been hooked on the RC F of various groups for so long. This week I'll take something else around Panorama- and still use Tom's for Gr2. I hear the physics are better for MR now- I may have to try the 488 or McLaren. I couldn't master The Dipper in MR for some reason; just never got the brake point right. Tonight's prediction- I'll try the 488, but end up loving the Aston.

Edit: new prediction for tonight- I'll do 1 Bathurst, wind up in the wall on each lap, DR & SR down, give up, and test the TS050 around Sarthe in preparation for Saturday. That sounds about right.

So, is the Megane Gr4 the new Audi TT since the update? I’ve never driven it before.

Edit: I just tried the Megane Trophy, I thought they were the same car haha. I’m thinking that I’m driving an FF car and the thing spins out on me, I’m sitting here thinking WTF? FF spinning out? Yup, it’s MR, who knew?

I spent about a half hour at Maggiore qualifying in the Fiat before I realized it was rear-wheel drive. Probably because it doesn't have enough power to burn rubber. :dunce:

Soon, Mr Fancy YouTuber.

Soon . .

I am at 2:17:0xx, after I got enough of the SvenJ approach I did 3 Q laps in the M4 and decided to race with a time I could also put down in the race

Now that I've figured out the brake balance (0 to the top of the mountain, 2 to the front down the hill) my target is high 2:13s. I won't race until Thursday.

NSX handles nicely but doesn’t have the jewels to get up the hill fast enough and can be little slippery in the right bits on the way back down.

Rustang up next :D

V8 Vantage is nice, I don't think it's the fastest but feels good and stable to drive around the mountain. I see a lot of TTs and Meganes with a sprinkle of Sciroccos which take up around 75% of the grid in my races. I'd assume those would be considered meta choices.

Sounds like I'm going to be the only one rocking the Hyundai.

My fastest time gr4 was Genesis.
I’m not sure I feel ok with that though.
Seems every time I test gr 4 I end up trying everything and then going screw it.
Gonna reacquaint myself with my Lexus then compare to Ford and Chevy.
Abs weak is what I’ve been running forever but default seems better on this track especially t1 and the last turn.
I have a very very hard time with those.
Very easy to lockup.

Slowly eating away at Alsace time. 1:47 with the toms..

Any of y'all gone done a lap with out changing yer rubbers??

9 laps is as far as my patience would allow

Just did Race B twice in the TT, which feels slow and cumbersome as hell on this track (but faster than the 458 in a straight line by far), can only quali in the 1'15s. Got a 0.5s penalty through the twisty downhill S bends on the last lap of race 2 which resulted in 1s at the line, but I really don't know why since I didn't touch the walls, kerbs or contact anyone else since I was alone...? Very odd, perhaps leftover from earlier in the lap? Both races involved weird defences from someone around 5th that held the entire back two thirds of the field up in the uphill narrow walled sections on lap 1, which was a bit stressful to deal with.
Been worried about trying Race A yet based on what you guys have said, and same for Race C - slippery Gr.2 trying to manage tyres on a track I've never really liked or managed to excel at doesn't sound super fun...

I fainted, i seen gr2 and automatically thought of the fuji logo, i seen alace village II and though ouch thats thats even worse. Seen bathurst gr4 and was made up a race is on thats fun. I have gone off gt league, ai is awlful lol

You guys went too easy on me, that was definitely a Double Facepalm moment. :D

I didn’t really like the FF Megane though, 14.3 was its best and it oversteers more than I’d like. Trying the NSX next, I’m attempting to avoid the Lambo. :)
Oversteer in the FF Megane?
Can I add those memes to my post?:D:sly:

Main "problem" with the FF cars are the BOP is stock. Not even a weight increase for the Megane. So, 350hp/1100kg is too much for a RWD 1400kg/no matter how much hp it has, to match.

I also kept TCS1 active for the entire race.

I had a race following CLowndes888, in another Megane. A TT was in 3rd and we just left it in the dust on lap 1. I just followed him around gapping the field.

The first race in the Megane, TCS off and I was getting beat up. ;)3rd gear is best in the FF cars. Plus, off throttle tuck in. Can't be beat. Mustang might be the closest to that, as is the WRX. WRX is really growing on me. Especially since it's a good car in TCR Australia.
