Good last race tonight
cJ0d.jpg

I had a BMW on my tail all race. He needed to save fuel hard, I wanted the clean race bonus thus extra careful in corners. I sped away on the straight ish sections then he caught back up in the more twisty bits. He tried a surprise pass at the start of lap 2 at Hocheichen, just before I could speed up again to Flugplatz. Unfortunately he hit me into the wall, he got 2.5 sec, I guess 0.5 from cutting the corner to attempt a quick pass and 2 for the tap. Lucky for me that meant I kept the clean race bonus. I followed him for the rest of the race, or rather tried to keep up while babying the car with already degrading tires in lap 2. My best lap was only 8:36. I had fuel left over, the tires were the problem. The 2.5 sec penalty made it an easy victory for me and the rest of the field never caught up to our duel.

DR 24K, SR 78, both meaningless numbers at this point

Anything under gr2 and nurburgring is dead to me, at least for dailies, I'll put up with it on fia because, well, fia. See you next week. I hate gr4 so much. Garbage cars.

(I know it's me that sucks, let me rage anyways)

Burn all gr4 to ashes.

Decided to give the Viper Gr. 3 a run on Nurb24h.

Started on pole. 2nd and 3rd place were on me for all of the GP portion. Unfortunately, the Viper isn't up to snuff in this section, so I had to let 2nd place pass me without a fight.

So what about Nordschleife?
... not much better, unfortunately. The understeery nature of it created the problem that I have to go slower to navigate the turn. This also resulted in 3rd place passing me in the straight before the caroussel. He had a noticeable speed difference, so I let him pass without a conflict.

As for everyone else... They pitted.

1st, 2nd, and I did the no-stop. 1st and 2nd battled it to the very end, finishing .3 seconds apart. I was about 10 seconds behind them.

And of course, #BuffTheVipers

Couple more victories to end the night. Always funny to see people running the popular cars get beat by an unpopular car and in the next lobby they are running the same car as you.

Genesis is so comfy, particularly around the ring. Dat 2nd gear Dorifto Modeu tho. People are gonna realise eventually how nice that car can be to drive.

We're growing in power...

I did something stupid. So I race on the G29, and everyone knows that the knob to adjust TCS, BB, FM is a joke, so I use the DS4 to adjust those. Works perfectly.

I was adjusting the FM in the middle of the race when the brake trigger on the DS4 is pushed just enough to slow me down. I almost take someone out and I try to reposition the DS4... and go off track.

I recovered into 3rd place.

Also, while on the road to 3rd place, I was trying to pass some pillock in the F-type when he tries to slam me off course twice in the GP section. I got lucky and was able to not make that happen, and eventually passed him.

Into the 2.09's last night at Suzuka so as per my own rules, went racing.

Had one crash fest, seriously, even in S rooms, why am I a magnet to the wankers who suddenly dont seem to care about their SR. I suppose people dont like being passed cleanly around the outside!! Started 8th, finished last thanks to one guy who I passed cleanly and suddenly he made it his race mission to ruin mine and hit me every-time I tried to pass him again, so I just sat at the back and reported him after the race.

Then I had a relatively quiet race, started 7th picked up some places through attrition and one at the hairpin on lap 1 finished 3rd but was catching the leading pair by about 0.5 a lap, but they had around 3 seconds on me after lap one, but I was on their bumpers at the finish.

I am pleased with that, because I am racing in B-S rooms which is higher than I have ever raced, and more than holding my own, I improved my quali time again as the very last thing I did before turning it off last night, so hopefully I will start higher up again if I go racing tonight.

Surprisingly (and a little annoyingly), what gave me in total an extra seconds pace was turning TC back on :nervous: I was just messing around and set it to one and immediately went a quarter of a second faster just from not lighting the wheels up at the hairpin.

The only thing I don't like about this idea is this will bring out the wall-riders if there is no significant penalty. But I also feel your pain.

Surely they should be able to tell the difference between someone skimming round a wall at full speed, and someone crashing into a wall and coming to an instant stop?

Had a fun race at Suzuka, although spun off avoiding someone else at spoon on the first lap and dropped to last, then got in some overtakes, but came up behind three others having a battle into the degners on the last lap, they were having a bit of a crash into the first one, thought I could squeeze past, but one of them clipped me mid spin and went off so I got a 2s penalty, which cost me several places.

Jumped onto the N24 in the Aston again, still not enough time for a quali lap, and started last, 11 with quali times this time, 20th became 19th with someone disconnecting. Just from people falling off the road, and one serving a penalty, I was 14th by the end of the GP circuit without even trying to overtake anyone. On FM3 again, so just drove sensibly and waited for others to fall off, which they did. Got punted off at exmuhle, but quickly back past the three that got past me there as they all bashed into each other after bergwerk. 10th became 6th from others pitting, and a porsche who'd only just passed me on the straight slowed down as soon as we started lap 2, presumably realised he needed to save more fuel, so I passed him for 5th at the hairpin on the GP track. 2nd lap was quite quiet, kept it on the track and was on for 5th when three one stoppers chasing me at the end of the straight all messed up, and one in a McLaren hit me at full speed in that last right hander, and although I went off, he went off first, so not only did I lose 3 places, I got a 3s penalty, and then ran out of fuel just before the line. Fortunately there was a 15s gap behind me then, so not a problem, but an annoying end to an otherwise fun race.

I don't know what happened but after several SR+ or SR Neutral rides at N24 I went from SR B to SR E in one race. Got a couple of 5sec penalties caught up in first lap pinball and a few 0.5 for apparently cutting corners (theres a few places where you go "really?") but get those small ones every time.

Seems like a couple of bad incidents can wreck your SR on Race C. Might avoid it now. Glad we have no FIA races this week or next.

Just did my secondary account for GTS , i changed my Turismo_Psycho name to GT_Psycho_ . So im GT__PSYCHO and GT_Psycho_ . And im back to sport mode with GT__PSYCHO . My old account was already A+ with over 400 wins , so i will keep it if i want to get back in FIA events and not bother about ruining my rating in sport mode .

Race C: used the M6 to qualify initially with an 8:16.188, then dropped it to 8:16.042, and then switched to the F-Type and dropped it to an 8:13.793

Gotta wait for @CapraKiwi to show up then...
And I used the F-Type (qualified in the AMT livery I created myself, used yuyuko-san's HMS Belfast livery for the race) and cruised to victory after @CapraKiwi (Castrol GR Supra) accidentally plowed into @MonkeyMan_707 (Red Bull VW Motorsport Beetle) and N-spud (Walkenhorst M6) getting too greedy on the throttle out of T1B. FM2 and short shift with bits of FM3. Race time: 16:56

Lol the knob does indeed suck. Mapping it to the +/- buttons with L3 R3 for scrolling left/right is my solution.

I’ve got the mfd mapped to the D pad on the my wheel, left/right scrolls through, up/down turns it things up/down. I do miss my dfgt buttons though. :)

Just to add my piece to the G29 red dial of uselessness! I experimented with loads of variants but now feel happy with the below:

D-Pad - MFD Controls
L2/R2 - Indicators
L3 - Apology/thank you hazards
R3 - Flash my lights in rage
Triangle - Ghost on/off
Square - Change View
Circle - Overtake
X - Look behind

I find that covers everything I need and it's all in easy reach. I don't know why that red dial is so useless though. It just plain doesn't work most of the time and even when it does you have to take your hand off the wheel to use it!

Glad its not just me with the red dial madness! Makes it impossible to amend your settings during a lap, want to go from TC0 to TC1 for a hairpin, sure no problem....

turn the wheel once, nothing
turn the wheel once, again, nothing
hairpin is approaching fast, I have one hand on the steering wheel, need to change gear
turn the wheel twice, nothing,
dammit
spin the wheel 3 times, suddenly decides to take you from TC0 to 3,
exit hairpin really slowly due TC3, rear mirror suddenly full of cars and you aint accelerating
try to turn it, back, nothing, cars are going past
frantically spin it in the direction you need it to go to get you back to TC0, nothing
halfway down the next straight, finally changes to TC0, net positions lost, 4!

Never even considered remapping!! First job when I get home!!

A youtuber (I forget who) did a video on things he wish he knew when starting his simracing career. One of them was to have the buttons mapped so that you can quickly and easily change settings on the fly without taking your hand off the wheel. After watching that I questioned why I was persevering with the red dial and immediately remapped the MFD to the d-pad. There was a minor learning curve as everytime I wanted to check behind me I'd move the brake balance forward, but after retraining my muscle memory I haven't looked back!

You guys don’t like the red dial? I loved the red dial. :)

It wouldn't be so bad if the damn thing worked when you need it to

The red dial needs way more resistance and much more pronounced clicks.

On topic, thanks to a combination of the Viper and Nordschleife I’ve managed to break into DR A for the first time in my Sport mode career. It’s only taken me 800 races.

Yup, I had the same, dropped from SR:B to SR:E in a single race. Sucks ass.

On the up side, the further you drop the faster the rebound. I went from SR 15 to SR 49 in one race in SR.D +34 SR. At SR.E the boost is probably even higher, could be 38 SR for one clean race.

Does anyone else get the bug where you get FM up with the race map underneath it after finishing with the FM up in the previous race? I wish it could do that with the radar in the background, that would be perfect! Now if you change it you get a single display again, if you leave it you get the animated course map and FM map at the same time.
