A few highlights from tonight’s races, that’s it for me for tonight.

I scored an accidental free pass here. I didn’t go into this corner looking for a pass, that’s for sure. :)

This usually works well but it kinda backfired a little bit this time. :)

Let’s see who’s old enough to get the reference.

Sometimes it pays to be patient. :)

But sometimes you gotta apply a little pressure. ;)

Nice, I'll watch these after my race right now.

Honestly though, if I get down to a 3:25 I'll be estatic. I don't think I'll match your QT this round. Or ever.

So what kind of lap time will be decently competitive at Interlagos? Not like I have the skills to challenge alien times but just enough to have some good race. First practice run on that track in a while and I clocked in a 1.33.2. I noticed the top 10 are in the high 1.30s and low 1.31s or should I keep practicing and in try get and get in the mid - low 1.32s? Looks like the R8 is the meta this week . I have never been able to get a handle on it

Thanks man, It was a fun evening of racing. :)

You never know what your capable of until you push yourself to find out!! Keep picking away at it and you’ll eventually get there man, never give up.

What car are you using for Q?

Not a big sample size but I did 3 races today in DR A lobbies and 1.32 - 1.33 seems competitive enough. I'm at 1.32:5 and usually start 6 - 10th place. So worth it to hit low 1.32s.

Looks like the R8 is the meta this week . I have never been able to get a handle on it

R8 was meta last time and the RCF seems to be a pretty popular choice. I'm using the Ford GT (R8 is boring :p) which I've been fastest in so far. It gives the R8 a run for its money. Finished 3rd ahead a swarm of them in my last race.

My current time was posted with the TS050, but I've taken the 787 around a few times. Those group c cars are stupid fast, but I have a really hard time taking corners at speed with them. The Toyota is so forgiving. Maybe I should try the LM55? I just dislike using VGT cars because it sucks the immersion out for me.

Haha. @Pigems I was trying to beat you but I realized I needed to rewire the ignition for MORE POWER OH OH OH. Good call on the reference.
I did go sub 33 on Lagos after switching back from the MClaren I used last night to the vette. The vette always pleases me.
I’m just not up for a race tonight, works been killing my will to live so far this week so I’ll just drink Coors Light instead.

The Peugeot 908 is a well-rounded car, and the LM55 will get good Q times. 👍

I was hoping you would say that, the TS050 is great for the race because it’s good on fuel, but it lacks top end speed for Q times. Try the Audi R18, Peugeot 908 or Mazda LM55, they are much faster for setting a Q time, the C cars are fast too but they’re much harder to squeeze a good time out of. I’d be willing to bet that with a clean lap in one of those three you’ll shave at least a second or two.

I think I did my best lap in the R18. :)

That was my favourite show as a kid, good ole Tim the Tool Man!! :D

Nice job at Lagos! I’ve been to scared to try it so far. It’s got to be my worst track by far for Q times. :)

Edit: Brainstorm!! Can someone with the ability to make/upload decals make me up a couple of Binford Tools decals? That would be so sweet!!! :D

Thanks guys, I'll check out the LM55 for QT. That thing passed me like I was walking today on the Mulsanne. Still had another good race- qualified 6th and finished 8th. Good drivers, clean lobby. The best you could ask for! One guy even nudged me at Mulsanne and then surrendered his overtake. He promptly overtook me again before Indianapolis, but hey- that's good racing!

3 races at Le Mans tonight, all in the fastest room. I'm stubbornly sticking to the R92CP, bah hybrids and fantasy cars, old flagship for the middle of the pack finish. I've got my best lap time down to 3:31 no stop. Clean race bonus is difficult since it's so easy to get tapped from behind in this slowly accelerating monster. It's like steering an Ekranoplan in between all the twitchy speed boats. Fun!

Top 10 finish every race anyway, well within time out and always nice to be the only one without a red dot besides the pole to flag leader. The middle race I did get a dot, nicked a 0.5 sec 'wide' penalty for evading a car at Indianapolis, so strict there.

If only matchmaking would match on GR.C GR.Hybrid and GR.Fantasy for the daily C this week :) BOP is useless in GR.1. I saw one other GR.C car in my races, someone trying the 787B for one race, pitted in lap 4, didn't make it. Battery power for the win :/

Interesting start to this week for me - started off getting punched up and punching back on Race B in a B/S rated race, ended up at DR B/C..... last night started on pole position twice at B/C and won 4 races in a row and got back to B/B and another WIN!

Maybe I should just be a B/C :P

Ran my first Race A just now and went against Turismo_kid of all people. :p Started P3 and basically ran there the whole race as I watched 1 & 2 pull away slowly until Turismo made a mistake on the last lap going under the tire bridge, allowing me to catch up and he was hit with a half second penalty. Did get past him in the last corner and finished P2. I'll take it.

Have had some fun race b action but alot of savages out there today. The urge to retaliate is strong lol. McLaren F1 has easily been my favourite car this week. Looks quite good in the Carlos Sainz McLaren livery I found as well.

might try Race C at some point this week. I dont really feel like qualifying.

Completed two C races earlier tonight, I did both races in the TS050, and started on pole.
In both races, 2 place (same car, same person) was on my tail for the entire race.

In the first race, I happened to jump on to the race before warming up, so I was a bit slower than usual. He passed me, but I was able to keep up with him. However, on one of the sharp turns, I accidentally accelerate on the curb and spin out. Whoops. Somehow still finished second.

Second race, I was on my A-game, but it seemed like this guy was on their A+ game. They were breathing down my neck for the entire race. It ended being a 1v1, as we easily left everyone else behind.
I managed to keep 1st place safe in the straightaways, and I was able to breathe a bit more on the last turns. Great racing, this guy really had me on a run for my money.

Won 900 DR bucks from those two races. I'm about 1000 short of hitting A+ for the first time. :D

Small update: Fro Race C I have my quali time down to a 3:21.5 in the Alpine, but for the time being, I’m switching back to the Toyota for the races.

A question for those who have done it: Can you actually race properly with the Alpine, i.e. how much fuel saving do you have to do in race trim before its inherent top speed advantage (~25kph before the first chicane) is nullified by the Hybrids’ superior acceleration?

i haven't raced the Alpine - in fact i haven't raced at all this week - but if you look on YouTube for Kie25, he did a live stream on monday with a couple of races in the Alpine and with short shifting he finished with pretty much zero fuel in both the ones i watched - still lapping at 3:24 - 3:26 with no interference.

Race B is by far my favourite combination on the game, love interlagos I think it’s a fantastic circuit. Will be a shame when it goes from the f1 calendar

Further adventures with the penalty system at Le Mans: I go onto the grass on the outside of the right hander before Tertre Rouge, I get 5 seconds added

??????????????????????

Did you touch the wall perhaps? If you slow down and don't touch the wall you should not get a penalty. I overshot the first chicane yesterday (couldn't spot my brake marker from the right, crap tv) and stayed on the inside of the hump, carefully merged back in after and didn't get any penalty for basically missing the whole corner.

Bah humbug! There are 5 Group Cs... gotta catch 'em all! Tonight will be the Mazda's turn :p.

You are right, time to try the others!

That pace is the problem for the Alpine, the Toyota can do high 23s/low 24s every lap consistently without using the tyres or fuel too much, with a tow it's even quicker (my quickest race lap is a 3:22.9).

Thought I'd do some quick qualifying in Race B, didn't bother setting up the wheel, what a mistake .Interlagos is UNDRIVABLE with a controller now .May as well be driving group B at Colorado Springs.

I think you may want to add that this opinion only pertains to you personally ;)

I was testing in time trial yesterday and I got the M6 to 1:31.677. I was SOOO upset that I didn't do that in proper qualifying. I got it to a 1:31.8 before a race but I haven't gone back to see if I could lower my Q time.

I also did a 1:31.9 with the Subaru

If there are any that you're still looking for, message me a link, and I'll have a crack. They look easy enough.

Thank you all who joined my stream. Would love to know for next time who does, just pop it into chat, be great to see some faces from here!

Anywho, it was a bit of a mixed bag, I had a bit of fun with some noncompetitive cars to mix it up a little, and boy was it tough racing! My last race of the night I kinda redeem myself a little with a fastest overall race time of 17:03.xxx. There's definitely a 16min time to come for race pace, haven't seen it yet, but the fast guys are getting back from Nurburgring by now, so surely we will see something along those lines.

The 962C is a nice surprise! Fun to drive and improves a bit on the R92CP on everything except turn rate at the apex in the chicanes. It more than makes up for that with slightly better brakes and fuel management. First attempt my best lap is already 2 sec faster than what I could do in the R92CP so far, 3:29.2. It's also more stable at corner exit. I might have to make a livery for it :)

Next up, the Jag. That probably won't be as fast as if I remember correctly all the other GR.C cars had worse fuel mileage than the R92CP. I'm glad the 962C finally has a bit better mileage. R92CP I have to short shift before half the bar shows to make it and I'm usually playing catch up on fuel after lap 1, 962C can shift at 75% and easily make it, I had 4.4 laps estimated after lap 1.

Morning races are nice again, finished 4th in the 962C beating a 908 and TS050 that were close all race.

Jag is worse than the R92CP in every way. It has the worst brakes, terrible fuel mileage and suffers more understeer as well. My best lap in it was 3:33 thanks to leap frog drafting a TS050, otherwise it would have been slower. I had to shift as soon as the bar starts showing and stay in 4th through the Porsche and Corvette curves to make it. Fuel management negates anything BOP tries to accomplish! It is fast on the straight, so fast it's over revving in 5th burning more fuel. Perhaps it's better to dial back the fuel map on the straight and sacrifice a bit of top speed to have more fuel on the rest of the track.

As far as I can tell, there is some logic to the 'track limits' penalties... (I know, don't shoot me for saying so!)... tried and tested at RBR, Interlagos and Suzuka... You can be outside of the track limits and in what would normally be considered the penalty corridor, as long as you aren't gaining an advantage from it.

I mean, if you fly high wide and handsome with the loud pedal welded to the floor the game's going to send you to the sin bin. But if the detour has caused you to lose time compared to driving around on the racing line, you can more or less get away with it. I've rescued many potential seconds through Interlagos T3+4 by just letting physics take its course...

Wall penalties are another beast altogether, mind.

I managed no stops with both the Jag and the Merc. We'll see how the Mazda goes, but so far I haven't been able to beat the qualifying time set with the Jag. Everything seems a bit slow after the 2:40 laps with the RB Standard ;).
