A fun little Daily Race yesterday in the Gr4s at Willow Springs........A great start soon went downhill, twice! Where could I get back to in the short 5 lap race?

Well here it is, my 200th win and 7th win today. Today’s goal achieved. That puts me at around a 20% win rate and 68% top 5 rate for Sport Mode races and I’m pretty proud of that.

It’s not the most exciting race, but started P2 and the leader binned it. Like I’ve said many times before, sometimes people crash, and I win. Time for a break!

Enjoy vacation!

BTW, anyone have an idea what car will be used for Race A? It be sweet to use the TT, but I'm betting it's going to be a Toyota or Honda.

Or, since it's new, the '81 Porsche 911?

I wasn't keen on more racing today, but I was so close to the 91 wins milestone that I decided to just complete it now, since I should take advantage of my recently found karting skills (and next week will be nuts, both on college and work, so no Sport mode for me probably :grumpy:). Had some good races, nothing great to report, but I finally did it:

I just beat JaraPapa in a race, right afterward he left the lobby. The very next race I gave him pre-race chat messages of “good to see you again” and “you are fast” and you know what he said?

“Tu vieja.”

Translation: your mom.

:lol::lol::lol:

Hehe reminds me of IRC when it seemed like Mexico suddenly went online. A bunch of them kept trying to chat me up. I told them "I'm sorry, you're not my type. " most of them replied "puta" . My response.... "Yes and you can't afford me" ;)

Loks good you guys getting wins but I cursed myself. Tried 2 races on B and was going great till 2 screw ups had me crap the DR. First one I was slipstreaming an erratic driver into 2nd and forgot his GT-R needs a mile to brake so punted him just off in turn 1, but still my fault. 3 second penalty after everyone had regrouped from lap 1 carnage and I drop right back to the bottom. And oddly no one made a mistake after tha. Second race I was up to fourth driving clean and slipped my left wheel onto the dirt at the very last corner, took my car all the way between the crash barriers and didn't reset until I had stopped completely halfway down? Had a 3 second lead on 5th at that point and when I reset it was already back into 8th, who was almost 6 seconds back, and that was before I started moving. Would have almost been better to kamikaze to get a penalty and faster reset, 5 seconds would have been less than I lost.
Adieu to Big Willow, it's been good times and bad times. Now I have to learn to drive again.

Enjoy vacation!

Has to be the 930. What other car than the Supra, will be tail-happy around a tight "street" circuit? ;)

Fun lobby, thanks for hosting. I really like those cars!

Thanks for coming man, that was a super fun, too bad a few guys couldn’t drive fairly though. The car is wicked fun to drive though. :)

The RX7 is pretty slippy. But it doesn’t say one make, just N300. :)

Celebrating !!! After 48 races I participated in, I won 21 races, and several 2nd places. This week was amazing for me, and I'm looking for the Gran Turismo Sport platinum trophy, 91 victories, 65 pole positions, 322 entries will be a long way but one day I'll get there. Wish me luck guys !

Been out of town most of the week, but got some Willow Springs in. Killing it there- not by being particularly fast (my QT times are 2 seconds behind @Pigems and @sturk0167), but by being consistent. Half the field in DR D would fly off in the first lap, so I regained my DR C quickly. Man, that is a fun track with Gr4! Kind of perfectly suited for it, I'd argue. GT3 is too fast and it's harder to use the entire track. Now I just need to figure how to trim 2 seconds off- I think it's in the last corner.

Edit: Actually, I'm 3 seconds behind @Pigems and @sturk0167

I’ve got the Kart down to a 56.4 finally, no TCS and BB 0. There’s still more there, but man this thing is hard.

@O604 Glad your enjoying it man!

@Mistah_MCA I’d have been shaken in my seat too man!! :)
I tried the cart for the first time with my wheel about an hour ago doing a qualifier for race A. Outright fun!!! Had 2nd thoughts about entering a race though. Didn’t wasn’t to risk my already fragile “D” driver rating and have my measly 2730 points go back to 1. Again...

Has anyone done that clean race streak challenge. Like 15 races or something ridiculous? Every time I get remotely close, some kamikaze Japanese t-bones me into oblivion.
I think the only way may be either completely tanking DR / SR and winning by miles or doing the reverse - not qualifying and just cruising around at the back...

I'm tempted to run qualifying laps in the kart for an hour or two, just to try and sneak into the top 10 for the first time. Currently 11th in oceania with a 55.6something. Optimal time is 55.4.

Happens to me all the time as well. My record is 13 races or something.

I've thought about tanking just to get that streak. But, I just can't bring myself to do it. And if you can win by miles, no need to worry about tanking your ratings.

Okay, so I play this game on and off. I've golded all mission and circuit challenges. In about 25 races online I've had 2 wins, 1 random pole. I wanted to platinum the game since I enjoy it and I realized how hard it is to win and get pole position.

I did the kart race and qualifying on my own and I was in the 58s. I got it to late 57s before i read some tips in this thread. I also watched the top guys lap (is there any way to race against someone else's ghost through the quali time trial?) I've been using a wheel and I got it down like 56.4 or 56.3 I only had 40 mins till dinner so i just used my controller for 40 mins straight. I somehow managed 56.1 and then a 55.8 after 40 laps on a controller 0_0 . I got those times on my like 55th lap.

I was shocked. I did about 6 races last night, was pole in 5 of them and I won like 4 of them on controller. Its still hard winning. I'm not a good racer at all cuz I make so many mistakes and feel a lot of pressure but it's been fun. I also got robbed of 2 wins cuz of a penalty on the final bend. This karting combo is a lot of fun. I'm Gunna milk these poles more today and get back on the wheel.

Thanks for the tips in this thread. My settings were TCS 2 or 3, brake balance +4, ABS off.

Careful in here mate, jealousy is a stinky cologne.

According to some in here your wins may not be genuine and considered “win farming.” Especially those with 23 wins from 700 races

I say well done to you. You put it at the pointy end in quali and the results came.

Allow me to brag a little:

I sunk to DR.1 to achieve that due to yielding to anyone that got in range of touching my car. Sometimes I had to stop by the side of the road and let everyone pass again (was racing from the back to only overtake when absolutely safe) to avoid getting between 2 cars.

So yep, not qualifying, staying away from any trouble will do it. There are ways to manipulate the crb though. In a daily C you can drive one lap and sit the rest of the race out in the pit and get the crb. (don't select tires) It takes longer with only 2 races per hour. Race A is the least time consuming, and less time on track means less time to screw up. Plus fewer participants means lower DR loss.

Sadly that seems to be the only way (unless you are so fast you can get 15 poles in a row and drive away from the pack...) since a tiny touch from behind by a draft bumper means game over. BTW a T-Bone doesn't necessarily reset the clean streak. You only lose it when you see SR Down, or when the SR up for that sector goes missing. Getting punted off is usually no problem as long as the other car gets the penalty. If all fails and you are very close, you can try to quit the race before the finish. That usually preserves your clean streak (cause PD logic) and you get another chance. I've seen it happen after getting SR Down / penalty then a disconnect, next race the clean streak is still there. (So perhaps you have to fake a disconnect instead of exiting)

Good luck. By normal racing I sometimes get close to 10 in a row, yet with the current penalty system, 15 is very rare to get to. I think I've only reached that the 'natural' way twice in 8k races. Avoid all cars at all cost, DR can be regained later. But beware, the lower your DR gets, it also gets harder to avoid the chaos.

Well Race A can't be the Porsche,because it's N300. Race A supposedly will be N200.

Guess I'll find out tomorrow.

My bet is that Race A will be a group of N300 cars, notice how Race C specificities One Make and Race A doesn’t. I’m guessing it’s the JDM group we’ve had before. :)

Not often enough for me

Edit: them crashing and me winning lol. Although it did happen once or twice this week.

My highest clean racing streak is 15, and I got this not long after the game came out. There were about three times where I was on clean race number 13 or 14, and I end up in a small collision that is enough to ruin the streak.

Super frustrating, I'm glad I never have to deal with that again lol.

My crb counter has been at 13 forEVER now . Don't know when, if ever, I'll have another good streak.

I enjoy Big Willow but race craft is at an all time low this evening. Holy bumping batman. Instead of a clean streak I get maybe one crb per 3 races now. Always someone that has to bump or a reckless track re-entry or a Brazilian dive bomb. The penalty system doesn't help. Last race some idiot bumps a car off in the last turn, he stalls, swerves over the track, I can't avoid and get SR Down. He rams me on the straight, I get SR Down again. He gets crb. The race before he bumped me at least 3 times as well. A new one for my hit list.

Anyway, I managed to get 10 clean races today in the 86
yP8d.jpg

Twice the fastest lap, my best lap was 1:17.244. I couldn't get close to it again this evening since every lap there was someone driving recklessly. I didn't manage to beat my 4th place finish either today, however the race where I finished 4th was down in SR.B where I think I only overtook one car to get to 4th

My DR finally sort of stabilized around 17.5K with all B/S rooms this evening. 5th one race, rammed off the next. At least it never gets boring. I've done 366 races total according to the stats, of which I've only won 2 with 1 pole position. I guess while it is theoretically possible to get pole without qualifying in this game, it hasn't happened yet :odd: 95 top 5 with -3.19 ranking variation sounds a bit better. Not a good track to drive from the back, but all the front row views of cars jumping the dunes make it worth it!

In other words, you did it *before* they changed the system to include SR, and not just track limits. In the earlier days you could crash your way through the field with gay abandon, loose many, many SR points and *still* get a clean race bonus if you kept it on the black stuff .

Dude! I just noticed your 1:17.244 on the track is my QT  .

Edit. Well after watching you guys (@Pigems ) stride for A+, I was actually inspired to reach for A again. Currently at 29.5k DR. Only a little more to go.

Edit2: Nevermind, someone just threw on their hazards and hit the brakes in front of me L1/T2 :scared:. I avoid and take a trip through the sandbox 🤬:banghead:. Maybe some other time :(.

Great job! I also have a wheel, but I'm too lazy to deploy it, so DS4 all the way here.

If you care about trophies, something I do, not farming wins is stupid because 91 is an insane amount for most people. If you can put yourself on winning conditions not going for it because of some random prejudice is pointless.

I did it by farming some - specially in the weeks I found myself with a blistering quick quali time - and I don't care: I'm not a pro in GTS and with no ambitions nor skills to be even close to be one.

Now that I got them all, I can relax and enjoy the races with no pressure for winning and take Sport mode for what it is.
