Different aerodynamics caused by the different noses? But surely that can't make that big a difference..?

Well if anything, the Trueno is the car with the better aerodynamics, since it has a smaller front fascia and the headlights are turned off...So the Trueno should be the one "nerfed" here.

I want to say there's no difference but I've been feeling better in the Levin.

There's a noticeable difference on the main straight, if you take both cars side by side and accelerate and shift up at the same time, the Trueno will still gain about 0'00''020 from the Levin.

I also drive the Levin.

@Pigems. Been chasing your ghost. On the last turn you just disappear. Feels like you're maybe 10mph faster. Any tips?

The only tip I could really offer is to go really deep into the corner before starting to turn in and plan for a really late apex. It gives you a better exit line and let’s you get on the throttle much sooner. If you have cones on, go past the turn in cone/blue turn in marker just a bit before turning in and stay in third gear. You should be able to go full throttle before the apex with only a slight lift maybe through the apex of the wheels start to spin a bit. I hope that helps. :)

Just for fun the morning lobbies in race C have a few punters forgetting their brakes. Driving all right in group 2 with the ds4 but you've really got to watch out feathering the throttle to keep the reponse up and I have found that using that to stabilize helps heaps in the turns. Qually time not much improved, sitting around at 1:38.5 but keep pushing 3 or 4 laps at 1:40.3 or under during the race before the tires fade.

Outside of 2 punts bad enough for resets on lap 1 in 1 race and my own 2 mistakes in the other I still have plenty of pace. Sucks because I started 5th in one race and was up to second til I hit the curb on exit of turn 1 on the gas and spun into the wall. No reset until 6 cars passed me. Still haven't figured out how to activate the quicker reset. Oh yeah, got stopped by hitting the track side wall of the pit entrance while trying to go in. Nudged it forward to get in and got reset back to exit of last turn. So definitely slow down a bit to make the entrance

The cars are so slippery in Race C. All of a sudden, just no grip on fresh tyres and sliding into the turn. Just sLideways.

And we aren't the only ones getting that surprise. The goobs in the middle to rear of the pack get a rude awakening when the tires fall off.

I don't notice it, just take a hair slower entry into turn 1 after the pits and the new tires seem fine after that. I was in the GT-R though. Guys in the Lexus in my 1 race seemed to have their tires fall off a cliff after 3-ish laps, had 3 people double pit, and all three behind me at the end.

I did a 1-stop in that race C. Ran hards for 7 laps, then mediums for 5. My meds fell off after 3 laps in the GT-R.

Race C is all about dirty air, that is the reason the cars feel slippy in the race.

The Group 2 cars are very airflow dependant, so as soon as you start following cars you find you suddenly have a lot less grip. I caught a guy at about 2.5 secs a lap the last day and then simply couldn't get past. It's the big problem with Autopolis, it is very difficult to pass on and doubly so in cars that a downforce dependant.

Aero seems to be the worst in Gr. 2 over any other race class. Agree with you that Gr. 2 at Autopolis is PD giving us the middle finger.

You should've seen how much my SR dropped one day, when I decided to troll/bait people by putting a "TRUMP 2020" decal on the back of my car.

Well, I've run my 3 races for the week. Got flat out mugged in one of them. I'll post video later, possibly tomorrow. Got gifted the 2nd place in race 1, mugged in race 2, & finished where I started in the 3rd race. Here's the lowlight reel.

Yeh, I had that last night... except I didn't nudge the wall... I hit it hard enough for the mid engine of the NSX to come out through the bonnet. 5s penalty for me, *and* a re-spawn. It's still better than pitting at Bathurst. Hit the wall there and you get re-spawned on the start/finish strait and you have to do a whole lap before you can pit.

Sardegna Race B is a bump fest. Lost 1200 points in two races... and I only needed to GAIN 1200 points to be an A rank ... and @Odiesback I saw you there in my first race that was a complete disaster ... Hope you did better. I did not even care to watch the carnage on the replay ..../:banghead:

This is the second race that was somewhat better but the penalty was VERY harsh after watching the replay. The car that actually took out that green Toyota was a VW...

Yes, i was there starting just ahead of you. I finished in P6.

I saw the replay and all was fine for you until you got bumped by multiple cars on that uphill left corner... I was wondering what happened... it is really hard to recover in races like this.

As someone has already mentioned here, the key for race B is to be consistent, patient and to stay out of trouble. All it takes is a mistake or someone being too aggressive and hitting you for the race to be ruined.

Had to administer some justice in Race A this evening, a certain driver dove up the inside of me going into T1 and then "forgot" I was on the outside and force me to drive into them, resulting in a penalty for me. Two laps later on they drive well off the track in turn 2 ahead of me, I take my normal line and refuse to let them back on the track at full speed, of course they smash into me since the whole track belongs to them so I drive off the left side of the track a bit, 3 seconds for them and I take the checkers.

I have to wonder if it's even worth going onto GTS some nights. We start with my good qualifying run (for my DR/SR level) & leads to starting 2nd in the first race. I get punted like a football & finish 6th. I also had some blocker who pushed me off. He got his penalty, & when I caught up to him before the penalty section, he refused to let me by again. I was able to give him the Spanish archer & get by. He was not happy. He took 2 or 3 swipes at me & missed them all & headed for the sand trap. Race 2, qualified 2nd, pole sitter drops out, so I got free pole position out of it. We had a good little scuffle for a half lap & 2nd place proceeded to bump me out of the way. All the way down to 10th. I just tried to stay focused & do the best I could. The eventual winner would also bump another driver out of the way on lap 4. That driver eventually fell back to me & he tried to block. I outbraked him into the banked left while he teetered on the right edge of the track. Serving a penalty in 3rd was a driver that also bumped me off, so he got the bumper too. I saw him go off track, but didn't get a penalty. So, do we have any idea how the penalty system works? The finish to the story:

So, I qualified good for the class, I thought I would try another car. Let's try the Mustang. Same layout, "supposedly" less weight over the front axle with fewer cylinders. Started on pole again, amazingly had some clean drivers in 2nd & 3rd. Didn't get punted & the race was on. I did my usual trying to throw the race away &.....

I didn't bottle it. I'll post a video tomorrow. ;) Hey wait, it's tomorrow already. You know what I mean.

Guys in the Lexus in my 1 race seemed to have their tires fall off a cliff after 3-ish laps, had 3 people double pit, and all three behind me at the end. I know if you're pushing it they definitely give out. Had an A/S(shole) driver recovering from a first lap crash punt me on lap 5 at the double left near the start of the lap and it ate my tires up. Spent the next 2 hairpins and the final turn getting punted by the double pitters who didn't realize I might need to brake a couple meters earlier than them. Still moved up a few spots in a loaded lobby by really only making 1 small mistake and capitalizing on others running off and chewing their tires. Definitely have to be smooth to manage it.
Was frustrated when I finally got my qually lap down to 1:38.9 thinking I'd done well, only to get in a high lobby and start 15 out of 17, 3.5 secs off the pole. Ouch. only made time cut off at end by 1 second. hopefully I can get some more practice in and manage that.
I was in the RC F. Another thing is I use TCS 2. A player I was racing for the last 4 laps, pitted one lap earlier than me and was just about driving away from me on the last lap. I was on its tail from lap 9-12 and during that lasp lap, I was struggling more so with TCS kicking in. However, I'll have to check to see if that player was using TCS as well.

The great conundrum.

Some people start as Jedi, with virtue and good intentions.

Some start as Sith, with a by any means necessary mentality.

And some of the Jedi are Anakins. Who unfortunately spend too much time in lobbies filled with the Sith that soon they start to feel that the only way of achieving victory is to give in to the dark side.

It's a choice.

I've found, that the more I race, the more it tends to even itself out - last week at Suzuka I had a P2 and P3 start in lobbies I should have been strong in and got dumped unceremoniously down the order. Then had a race where I started P8/9 and finished 2nd with a CRB.

Trust the force.

You made my day :D . Thank you mate :D . May the Force be with you :D .

Yeah, I've got to chip in again to say that I find the penalties and punters usually even things out a bit more as the races go on. As much as I get frustrated I usually end up having some good races to keep my rankings up and keep me in it.

Anybody who has been doing the 2 stop plan in C got pros and cons of the in laps? Is it just average them out to 4 and 8? I feel good on the 1 stop but willing to try the 2 if I am punted to the back again with nothing to lose. But with my lap times only dropping to 1:43's by lap 6 I don't know if I have much to gain.

Also, I think a lot of bad driving in the lower lobbies is due to the AI in the campaign mode. Been trying a few races there for stress free goofball options and the AI is plain brutal. Drives in ways that would get us reset, basically training people to think that is acceptable.

Surprisingly accurate analogy for the game. I fully approve.

Had a couple of Race As in the Levin yesterday, went into the first with no quali, started 11th, someone with a one-bar connection was jumping all over the place at T1, so got bumped a bit, but was up to 8th by T2, and P6 by the end of the lap just by keeping it on the track. Picked up a 0.5s penalty after sliding wide at not-the chicane on lap 3, but had enough of a gap not too lose a place, although was side by side into T1. Eventually took P3 into T2 on the final lap, and held it to the end despite a bad exit to the last corner with P4 right behind me.

2nd race didn't go as well, started 8th, bad start (forgot I'd turned TC off) and being overly cautious left me last out of T1. Gained a bit with others going off the road and others getting penalties, then was on the inside going into T1 3-wide. Came out ahead to take 2 places, but another car came from off-track on the exit, hit the side of me and bounced back off giving me a 1s penalty, which did cost me places this time. Got them back though, and was right behind P4 when I got a big slide on out of the second to last corner of lap 4, clipped another car and hit the wall on the left head on. Was P10 by the time I was going again, picked up P9 thanks to someone binning it at T1, but that was as far as I got.

Gained a bit of DR in total, but the second race dropped me from 99 to 91 SR, but had fun with the races anyway.

I was just trying to go to town to get some power converters.

Does anyone else wish they'd make all 3 races have 20 driver fields? It just feels like a waste of time doing A or B due to the small fields that mean your DR can't move as much either way. I've put in a decent QT for race A, but it doesn't feel worth the stress of the early lunges from behind for a max of around 800 DR.

I am now longing for a decal saying "Jedi Racing"
