Newbie back again. Was going to try some Race C Qualifying laps today, but realised I was about 500k credits short of a GR2 car, and I was never gifted one, so I hopped back into race B.

Did a few warm up laps - things did not go well as I kept getting on the throttle too early in the Atenza. Made the mistake of joining the race anyway. Old qualifying time of 1.23.800 got me P6. ended up spinning into oblivion in the 3rd lap all on my own, and finished the race 12th as I continued to oversteer on exit of every corner.

Took an hour break, and just focused on consistency in qualifying for about 20 minutes, getting on the throttle at the right time. Without even realising, I ended up getting my time down to 1.22.733!

Race time :D Started P2, and drove with the intent to just stay off the grass, and facing the right way at all times. I was worried because of the previous race, and considered turning on traction control, but decided against it. P1 was pushing hard in lap 2. He ended up in the barrier and spun on the grass through the first high speed bend. I took the lead, and brought it home with a 7 sec gap behind.

Such fun, and I’m on the brink of DR C. I think I’ll continue this week just working on throttle control out of corners in race B, while climbing positions as the drivers ahead of me make mistakes. Race C is beyond my ability right now, but hopefully I can get a gr2 car to dabble in qualifying before the week is up.

Week 2 of my GT sport adventure is going well :)

No idea! Maybe I just "got" the track and nothing was changed when temp was deleted. Car did felt more stable thou.
Possibly the break from racing while you focused on other tasks allowed you to recover your track "zen". It doesn't take much adrenalin to make control inputs jerky resulting in a ride that feels totally unstuck. I keep having to remind myself "race the track, not the cars" or I'm spending most of my races in the sand traps.

Race time 18:50:6 on Autopolis.

Had some good race As against an A driver who has been reset down and is grinding his way back up. He's genuinely faster than me, so I'm quite happy to drive along in 2nd, as I can lap a fair bit faster if I can hang in his slipstream. A useful tool for trying out different lines, as well. I didn't say "Thank you! You're a tool!" after the race, as it might have been misunderstood.

Also, I think a lot of bad driving in the lower lobbies is due to the AI in the campaign mode. Been trying a few races there for stress free goofball options and the AI is plain brutal. Drives in ways that would get us reset, basically training people to think that is acceptable.
I've had exactly that experience in the last week, went back and did some arcade endurance races to practice a new DS4 control assignment and thought the same thing of the AI.

When a B/S or higher rated driver throws that one in, it's so obviously a troll it's not worth responding to. ;)
I often seen it in Asia region dailies, makes me wonder what the translation is 'coz it's usually a non-english speaking flag...
Anything to throw my other racers off ;)

Gee Autopolis is joyless, I am fast enough to keep up with the high B's i am paired with but it's just a slog. There's one proper corner, T1, the rest are awful, joyless, meandering and illogical. Not a fan at all.
I think Autopolis is best suited for cars in the N200-Gr.4 range. The only time I've ever enjoyed the track was in the BRZ/86 race.

I tried the AMG race. First observation, the blinking gear indicator, which I usually rely on to estimate the braking point first time on a new track, is way off in this combo. First turn it's far too late, plus a couple other turns mid track. So my first two laps I was wide and into the wall. The 2 blinks then brake which normally has you braking a little early will 100% cause you to crash on this track.

Anyway, quick adjustment, caught back up and gained one spot in the end, no cars hit, got in time to the finish, not bad for a first attempt. Now waiting for a second attempt as there's a 10 minute wait between races. There really should be more laps or 4 races per hour. Much better race than A and C this week, but still not all that exciting.

Second race, getting the hang of it, 3 places gained, but had enough already. Has anyone tried WRC 8? Is it out yet.

I was about to go car pit for tire change. Some wacko rammed me big time. Guess what again I got 5 sec penalty. Do I deserve this nonsense. Here video for you to check out!

WTF did I just watch??? Holy Smokes what a joke.

Has anybody noticed that on Race A the Trueno is tuned to 200hp but the Levin is tuned to 196hp, even though both of them have the same weight of 1146kg?

That would explain why I felt "faster" in the Trueno over the Levin.

The great conundrum.

Some people start as Jedi, with virtue and good intentions.

Some start as Sith, with a by any means necessary mentality.

And some of the Jedi are Anakins. Who unfortunately spend too much time in lobbies filled with the Sith that soon they start to feel that the only way of achieving victory is to give in to the dark side.

It's a choice.

I've found, that the more I race, the more it tends to even itself out - last week at Suzuka I had a P2 and P3 start in lobbies I should have been strong in and got dumped unceremoniously down the order. Then had a race where I started P8/9 and finished 2nd with a CRB.

Trust the force.

This is a very under-appreciated post ^^^^

Looking at the driver's profile on K', I suspect what happened there is that it was the first time he had ever pitted at Autopolis. He has a couple of previous daily race QTs for the track, but I don't think those races required pitstops. Also, he's done a reasonable number of races without advancing all that far up the ratings, so you have to make allowances for him not being a highly skilled driver. So I don't think he deliberately rammed you, I think he just didn't know how much you have to slow down for the pit entry at that track. The game incorrectly giving you a 5 second penalty is a separate issue, and is, of course, a shortcoming in its current algorithms.

"seems fair to me.. don't know what point you're trying to make?" - (extract from PD penalty response team)
Seem fair??? you must be nut and blind. The car behide me rammed at high speed as I was about to go pit stop. The result was I get 5 sec penalty and other car disappear(quit). The whole concept is do I deserve the penalty. Do you get the point. Its plain and simple.

Insulting users because you missed the joke... nice.

Speaking of that, does the game translate the preset messages to other languages? So other can read them?

No, that's kinda the point I was making.. the Japanese tend to post in Kanji, so you can't read them unless you read Kanji. They do also post in English, but usualy the pre-prepared responces.

:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: Does no one actually *read* the frigging comments any more? The reply was within quotation marks, followed by the imagined source of the quote in parentheses. Before you get all snarky try re-reading it :dunce:.

@sturk0167 Thanks man, i am a bit suprised to be so fast this week tbh. Feel like i was loosing pace at the beginning of the month and then hardly played the last two weeks, also i hate and suck at this track (i thought lol)

I know it's ds4 vs wheel, but i am no tc and brakes 2 to the rear since my first lap, it felt good enough to not bother messing around with it. I also find i usually run well with what @Mistah_MCA has in his vids. Are onto triggers yet or still ■ & X? Feathering the throttle a bit to keep right at the threshold of that one wheel breaking loose on the t1 and through the last 3 or 4 turns seems crucial the tc even at one is probably costing that .1

sorry.. I a little behide you in understanding ;)

Still using X & []. :indiff:
I can go just about as fast with TCS 0, but I have to tap the button more.
