Tried an evening Race A. Got my butt kicked.

I had a decent run too. Didn't miss any turns. Got a clean bonus. Maybe slowed down 3-4 times, only lifting slightly. That was enough to drop back. Very strong field. Faster QT worked against me on this one. Lost all the DR I gained yesterday. What a bummer. Still felt good though. Kept up with some fast drivers.

Made a GT Planet plate if anyone wants one. It's blank. If you want name or something to put on it, just let me know.

Yeah, that wasn’t very much fun. The guy who started 2nd bump passed me in T1 and nearly spun me out, then it took almost 3 laps to finally get around him because I would catch him to quickly on exits and clip his bumper trying to get around or have to let off. Once I finally got around I took off and ended up winning by 24 seconds, only gained 1 single SR point to get to 54. I think I’m just gonna go work on Race C Qualifying, I’ll never get back to 99 tonight. :)

After at least 5 bumps and nearly getting spun out, I still somehow get a CRB though? :dunce:
 
Copying was done 2 minutes too late, so now I'm signed up for race A instead :( I might just quit at 7:49 to switch to race B, just don't feel like waiting any longer! Perhaps a miracle happens and the car suddenly feels fast and everyone is clean and keeps the car on track :dopey:

Btw was there anything in that update? The dash still shows the changes for the previous update.

Ahh, version 1.44 repairs the Thai language option for Asian versions of the game. Well that was worth waiting 35 minutes for in the US version of the game :banghead:

Looking for you. Matchmaking stuck me with a bunch of idiots on that last one. I'm drunk, but still dangerous.
 
Yep that was a mistake, but it was fun racing with @sturk0167. -4 SR from SR Downs getting tapped by other cars and a 1 sec short cut penalty for avoiding another car. Still chaos, lots of red in that race, pointless. Race C then, medium one stop, see how that goes on crappopolis. I didn't quit at 49 so missed race B again. What's the point of staggering the races if you can't switch to the other one... The old format was better with race A starting at :05, :25, and :40 (never got the logic for that last one)

Damm, no Murph in the next one, 2nd place is 2s a lap slower. I really hope I don’t get rammed in T1. :lol:

That’s enough for one night, gained a whopping 6 SR for that race, never touched another car, no SR downs or penalties any kind. Up to 60 now. :)

Cool man, thanks for the info and good luck in the future! If you’re handy, I built my own rig a while back and I still have the plans. It only used one sheet of 3/4” MDF($40) and a $20 used seat from a Honda Civic. I’d be happy to share the plans and walk you through the build. It only took a few hours to build once you get the materials, but it works great! :)

That's pretty sweet. I'd love to know what your dementions are. I've been meaning to do something similar all summer, just haven't had the time to plan it out.

One race C, the game had me start on hard tires again for whatever reason. Thus couldn't keep up, couldn't brake as fast etc, so decided to pit in lap 2 after going wide and falling to last. What a horrible pit entrance! 2 laps on hards had already messed up my timing so took a while to get going on mediums but still slow. A couple people quit, I passed two when they pitted, decided to just keep going and not risk that dumb pit entrance again thus did 13 laps skating on mediums. Fun!

Now waiting for apparently an update to No man's sky :banghead::banghead::banghead: Damn this gen needs to be over. Sure you can play soemthing while downloading / copying, except it will slow down to a crawl and take 3 times as long. Where's my Switch, Tetris 99 time!
 
Getting ready for the last Supra race is something else. What gets me is that I CANNOT mess up during the race, as it'll be on N24.

I can't wait to mess around in Daily Races again. :lol: I'll probably go on a mini "vacation" to Europe after the race.

I would have got a CRB too. But, there was a little contact between me, and an American while I took 4th, or 5th. I need to check the replay.

Still, if he hadn't had the tyre issue, I'd probably have finished 9th.

Edit: I'm actually starting to like Autopolis. Especially with the Super GT cars. I might be going a little mad . .

Sweet! I just got home from getting groceries and the wife works until 11 tonight, so I’ll be on soon. Had to prep for the Hurricane, I guess this one’s not gonna die off before it gets here like they usually do. :)

That 🤬 hurricane kept me at bay all week until last night :yuck:. Didn't know what it was gonna do as it hugged the coast of Florida :irked:.

I feel slow when I read this thread. One gets almost DR B on the second week, I have been driving since X-mas and are right now D..

I’m definitely slow, and expect to hit a wall in terms of DR improvement as I get matched with better drivers. Up until this point, my progress has been in no small part due to the mistakes of others.

I suspect that I’m going to have to actually get faster, and rely on my own driving skill more and more, to go higher than B, as better drivers result in less incidents.

Never meant to make anyone else feel bad about their own racing, I’ve just got no one that cares about my racing war stories so I share them here.

I just got home from the electronics store, and the copy of Silicon Chip they had on display had plans inside for taking that up a notch to a rig that moved.

Thanks! I still feel good about driving, unfortunately I rarely get to feel good about winning

But I know what you mean about the war stories, when I posted my first replay on YouTube I got laughed out by my kids.

Edit: I probably put a lot more time into the game than I should. I am married with a lot of children and facing a house move.

Speed comes eventually. But I think unless a lot of us really devote heaps of time to the game then we can get levelled out pretty easily. WhenI started lurking here I was just learning the basics all over again after not playing at all since GT4. Hovered around the bottom until I got a better feel for driving, but just when I think I have levelled I get something else figured, or find out that consistency pays. Used to think getting to 15k would be a miracle, but been bouncing around 17 and 18 for a bit now so who knows where you end up. It also helps finding the style of cars and races you are good with and enjoying those while learning to pick up bits and pieces of other types. I still get blasted off the track by guys way faster but make the most of the races I have. As long as it is still fun. I take self imposed breaks as well to keep me wanting more. And yeah, no one at home or work cares about my stories either.

Edit: I wish I could play more sometimes, but with kids, job and everything else that goes on I consider it a big day if I get 3 races in. More than 6 in a week is pretty big too. Luckily not planning a house move anytime soon.
