Race B, no quali (accident, entered too late to put in a lap). P13 > P7, CRB :D
Competition were reasonably clean but not very good at staying off RBR's runoffs, it was a good race for me.

I was wondering how were the Supras up there in the top 10 EMEA... This explains it

This guy is in the top 4 btw

Saw something similar in the one race I've done so far there, but not deliberate. Car in front of me outbraked itself badly in the first part of that chicane, ending up on the astroturf then completely ingored the second part, taking a short cut to the front straight. No penalty.
Here we go again...

times deleted and a tire wall in a couple days.
Doesn't need the tyre wall, just a 3 or 4s penalty for shortcutting each apex. Do what the clip shows and it'd be 6-8s lost (and it might encourage sensible braking points on the approach ;) )

Day off because of rain. I think i shall go to the Spa instead. Was doing 2:21 pretty consistently yesterday in lobbies without tires/fuel. I love spa now. Im a sucker for some elevation. Only got to try it a litte bit recently when i got PC2 and AC. Definitely more fun to have it in my favourite game where i can actually drive lmao.

Nah, I imagine the penalties are there, but the start/finish line is so close you can stay off track long enough and then cross it before they get applied. Much like Goodwood.

I haven't tried it mind. I haven't ever driven Spa. So this week could be 'interesting'... Now watch me nurdle out RBR in the Gr.4s!

Good morning, Spa time. I jumped in after just having done a couple wet races last week. No quali started me 14th. I took the Lexus for a no stop run and relearning the track (since GT6) It's much easier without rain! Ok maybe learning braking points while micro managing fuel isn't the best idea but I made it, didn't hit anyone, stayed on track (except once) and finished 9th 1 minute behind the leader. My best lap was only :26 being careful and figuring out what gear to use where.

So race 2. Starting in the back again, pretty clean start, it's going well making up a few places and/or holding my position and disconnected in lap 2 :banghead: Couldn't it wait just a little bit longer before starting that again!

The sooner we all acknowledge and accept that we (as customer and player base) are the persistent beta test the better, I guess.

PD guy 1: "Well, we've tested it a bit and fixed a few things, but there's still loads of unknowns, it'll take forever. And we need everyone working on GT7."
PD guy 2: "It's not worth the time. Just roll it out. Someone will break/exploit it for us soon enough."
PD guy 1: "And then fix it?"
PD guy 2: "I mean, if they really make some noise then put a new wall in, otherwise I wouldn't worry too much."

Yes I complain a lot but I'm seriously getting tired of having to drive ultra defensively through every corner to prevent nimrod drivers from seeing a bit of tarmac and foaming at the mouth. You aren't Senna, you aren't good, just back off and drive sensibly.

It's already argie-bargie at Thunderdome.

You got a 5s penalty for that? In most of my races I'd get an orange SR and that's about it. For t-boning someone at full throttle is worth 3s, but a 5s penalty takes something *really* special to be awarded . The joys of DR/D :P.

Then I got an award really early this week. A literal light tap in the rear bumper of the car ahead. Turn 1, they went beyond the track limits, I slowed down to let him retain the position, & I got 5 on it.

How I felt this evening
giphy.gif

How I felt after seeing another of my photos on the front page. :D

In the Supra, I know I lose quite a bit of time at Pouhon, as it struggles to rotate through it.

Have you tried adjusting brakes bias & trailbraking in order to help with rotation?

I did a few laps, 20.2 in the Porsche is the best so far, I can’t figure out the line to take Eau Rouge without lifting as of yet. I don’t know if the Porsche is the best car for me either. I’ll try more after work today. :)

I like e Huracan for qualifying race C. I found the Mustang was pretty fast as well. I lift a little at Eau Rouge as well, but I still managed 2:19.9 so it's not all about hitting Eau Rouge flat.

I'm waiting for the cries of how not stopping = not racing. It's like they can't wrap their heads around the concept that a race winner is the person that finishes in the shortest amount of time, not the person who puts in the fast single lap.

Thanks for the Tip, I did a 19.7 yesterday in the Merc in TT mode, I did lift a bit but I caught a good line through there that lap. More time tonight should get me at least back into the 19’s I hope. :)

This times a thousand.
Besides, that’s all I got is consistency personally. I can’t match times over one lap, but I can wait for a persons mistake that costs them and wave passing by.

I figured Spa would be a problem for run offs and the lack of penalties for same. After a few time trial hot laps in arcade mode it was obvious that the fastest route included a heap of short cuts. I wasn't sure if Sport Mode would impose penalties where Arcade was not but figured there was bound to be issues. The one I noted was actually running straight through Les Combes (not looking for it but I overshot by a mile and ended up gaining 2 seconds).

Anyhoo...it doesn't seem like I'll be testing it much. Last week I was so annoyed with the game I decided to take a break but came back fresh and enjoyed it. This time it looks like "force majeure". The missus told the kids if they didn't stop arguing over Fortnite and also if they didn't come to the dinner table when called then she'd be sticking the PS4 in the attic 'till Christmas. They tested her resolved and found it was not wanting. Looks like the brats have inadvertently got me banned from GT.:banghead:🤬:D:D:D:D

We'll see what happens after the reality that we might actually have to entertain them ourselves instead sinks in.:P

The FT-1 lost control after hitting me and spun around, then sloooowly rolled into the barrier which triggered the 5s pen on me. Explain that PD.

Then they rage quit.

Yeah...no chance of me driving RBR this week.

Back in the daily races this week, Race C the one of choice of course.....

No qualy time set for the 3 races I did, started at the back each time, and with a mixture of some overtaking and leapfrogging people who stopped, managed two 3rds and a 4th so far.......

Always good fun charging through the field.....I'll do some qualy later, as that'll put me in a better position to fight for wins of course.....It should be a fun week in "C"!

Had this little moment in Warm Up....

:D

Some tracks encourage messy driving more than others, RBR is definitely up there. I think people are drawn to it cause it doesn't have a lot of corners.

Monday morning races are hilarious as long as you’re not in the mix of the punting/running off, aka missing brake zones.
I think that's Mondays in general lol. I don't know that I've ever gained DR on a Monday. I seem to be stuck in a trend of getting punted the first 2 or 3 races, and spend the rest of the night trying to regain what I lost.

Might just stick to TT tonight.

Yeah, in my experience any track that has long straights leading into hard braking zones before low-speed corners means drivers are gonna try to brake too late and stuff it up the inside. And RBR is basically 3 long straights going into 3 hard braking zones before 3 low-speed corners.

Well it's not Spa and nobody else is racing here except me and 1 other person but I decided to try RBR for a few races.

1st race in the 4C and mistakes were made. It's too slow here and got easily passed on the straights by Meganes and TT Cups (evolved to a 2-make already) although still finished 8th because of penalty cars. A lot of red SR S at the end.

2nd race in the NSX. Better, faster on the straights and kept ahead an army of TT Cups. Made a dumb mistake by going too wide at Würth and picked up a penalty that proved costly. Dropped 5th > 8th and ended that way.

Luckily I raced among a clean bunch of people so no bumping and shoving which Gr.4 + close racing seems to encourage people to do. Fun race if you find yourself in a clean lobby. I guess the track feels fresh to me again since I usually avoid it.

Oh look the car on the left is the same dude who cut the final chicane in @EinsTheOne post

Yup. He's rinsing the pole positions and causing chaos in races as he's massively out of position.

The AMG can no stop with very careful fuel management. Laptimes are pretty consistent and it's relatively easy to drive. Until I can afford a 911, I'm going to stick with the Merc.

Imo RBR is a garbage track. It’s completely devoid of soul.
I’d rather have ANY real world track over that mess.
Design sucks.

I just did 2 Spa races, starting from the back. One with the Mustang, and one with the Viper. The Mustang does better on that track, and has great power/speed. I didn't do very well, but I didn't really expect to. @Mc_Yavel started at the back too, and was faster than me. If you're reading this, Yavel, I felt bad for holding you up in that second race. I wanted to let you pass, but when I looked back, there was a group of cars with you and I didn't want to get freighttrained.
Started at 99 and finished at 99, both times. :)

Oh, and I experimented with going two-wide through Eau Rouge.

I found that if you're on the right side, you should be fine. 👍 On the left side, it's gonna be rough. :ouch:

@Sven Jurgens, your good buddy was there, ironically in the GTR, which I know is your favorite car to race against.
As I said, it was a top SR S group. Nevertheless, your old pal was the only one who found a way to finish the race with a red B.
