Ran a bunch of laps for race A this morning.... talk about a boring combo. This is painfully boring tbh. Got a time of 41.1xx optimal of 40.6xx but i just couldn't do any more laps. Do not like RBR, and i might do laps around spa to learn it but i certainly wont be racing there this week. Maybe give some other games a little attention this week, i don't know.....

Just doing a bit of homework and see the top drivers doing a total race c time of 18:50 on a no stop with fastest laps of 2:19. Given the offset at the start is 12 secs+, I'm about 2 sec a lap off the pace. I need to get a better understanding of fuel modes and their relative economy differences. I tend to switch during the course of a lap but that could be the wrong approach. Shame replays don't show fuel modes.
2:19... No stop...
Are they going at mach 3? I was able to get that while going FM1 and eventually pitting, bit doing that on a no stopper? How???

Time for 1 race tonight, did a few qualy laps (2:19.6 but more there still). Started second, fuel saved in the corners from laps 1-4, then went flat out for the second half on a non stop run, and won by 9 secs or so.......

This race C will get tighter as the week goes on, and people get to grips with Spa, should be good! ;)

Yeah, I'm in agreement after doing a race. I had some fun qualifying but I don't feel like racing there again, lol. Too slow and draining even for my liking.

It went as follows: A+ on pole and me 3rd. I had to wait 2 laps for 2nd to screw up so I could pass and by that point it was already too late. P1 was already 3 seconds ahead. Stayed and finished 2nd.

Adding rain into the mix would've been interesting. The penalty zone would be busy, at least.

Can someone please explain me how I best use brake balance, so I can use it effectively at daily races and such? Thanks a lot!
Brake Bias is for adjusting the braking force towards the rear or front wheels.
At race C, where there is tire wear, most people will move it to the rear (+). That's because the front tires will normally wear the most because of cornering. Braking also causes tire wear. Saving your front tires from having to do too much of the braking will extend their life.

At race A & B, there can be numerous answers to your question. Brake Bias moved to the front wheels (-), will slow the car down faster. But a lot of times, you won't need that, depending on the car. Another benefit of rear brake bias is a reduction of under-steer, helping your car rotate on it's vertical axis (yaw).

Last week at race A, my car worked best with BB -5, and at race B, I mostly used BB +2.

It can also depend on how you control your car. If I had pedals, I would have used more rear BB at Willow, because I would be able to modulate my brake force.

Hmm, I ran below 23 on alt so I decided not to qual all week and entered up.
Actually had 2 really fun races, I found pit lane!
I finished the second race 4.5 seconds back, but I did grab third and fl.
FL was lap 8, a low 22. America’s server, Mustang.
No stopped the second one all default but short shifted quite a bit.
Good racing, with the odd altercation, but nothing new.
Starting 4 and 5 sucks I learned that. Doubt I will go crazy on qual here.

Cheers

Good first night at Spa. Muscle memory proved fairly accurate and ended up +2000 DR after 3 races. It also proved just as fun as I remember, which is the better news. Used the Rc F with an early pit, around lap 2 or 3, and then just straight focused on speed. I don't want to map fuel on this one right now, I just want to flyyyyyyyyyyyy!

Interesting. So it gives a penalty, but not in time for the current lap and invalidates the following lap instead?

That sucks because that’s a much more difficult problem to solve then just fixing the track limits.

Same thing that happened when Goodwood debuted. Within 2 days they had the tire barriers up. That's what most of us expect. PD basically set a precedent with Goodwood.

Did a couple of races at Spa, gotta say I am loving this track so far! However, (probably my fault for doing last to first challenges but) my races have been plagued with some divebombers and a bunch of track limit penalties, which translated to my SR falling down. After those races, I went to do some qualy laps and I can only manage a 2:18.079, I have no idea how Lamb does it .

(One of my highlights from doing the last to first challenges, I picked the Supra solely because I wanted to race with this livery lol. I am happy with how the races turned out though.)

I ran all last week at Nurburgring in the current GSR Racing Miku AMG, but unfortunately I feel more comfortable in the 911 at Spa.

What's the time penalty? I think a fuel stop is 16 seconds. (With tyres, sorry, missed that off).

Well, I am sorry, but I totally forgot to pay attention to that... Same advancement of places as the other races so I won't do it again.

Edit: actually, had I not been punted off on last lap and given a penalty for the same guy spinning in front of me at the final chicane, I would have finished p4 from p19. Now I got p12.

Went to RBR last night for 2 races before bedtime. Did a bunch of qualy laps beforehand, best car was the F-Type for me - a 1:38:474.

Get 3rd on the grid in the first race and get punted in turn 1. Down to last, manage to climb up to 13th by the end.
Second race - start 5th, avoid the punt most of the time. Last lap, I bin it turn 3, drop down to 8th and finish 7th because someone in front of me makes a mistake.

Hrmpf. Another 500 DR down - now at 6400.

Loving Spa. This is my first GT game but I remember the circuit from my GTR 1 days on PC! The only bit different is the bus stop no longer exists. :)

I managed to win my first outing there at DR D but have moved up to DR C since. I’m liking the Jaguar F-Type. I started with a 1 stop, tried no stopping and had to coast over the finish line! lol

I usually use auto gears with my G29 but I switched to manual and managed to go a bit faster. Just scraped in to the 2m21s range. Engine braking helps loads. Have yet to try manual in a proper race yet though. I did something like 250 miles yesterday, the most for a very long time. All aids off except for TC2. BB 0.

Decided to have a quick race without practicing - knew it was a bad idea! Missed Raidillon L1, ran wide at the end of the straight and was 14th carrying a penalty. Decided to try and play the long game by fuel saving and it was going really well until L3 when just behind 11th approaching Stavelot there was a recovering spinner ahead coming back onto the track from the left, which happened to unghost dead on the racing line - facing sideways - in between myself and 11th and about 0.00001s before I got there. He immediately quit out - thanks pal! I immediately changed tac and pitted for fuel and tyres to push to the end.

So I went from what would have been 11th after going past the spinner and in a decent position to pick up places to 18th and a long way behind! Finished 14th, behind a gaggle of cars and 0.3s behind the car who had managed to just miss the ghost. 900 DR down, think I'll race again when the qualy times have been reset and the shortcut is fixed. There were definitely a couple out of position judging by race pace

I have done three races yesterday at the RBR.

My fault, I did not really had a great qualyfing with 1.38.3xx and had a sandwich position in the grid.

Those were the most frustrating races I´d ever had at GTS. Divebombs, autoscooter, brakechecking....

Started at 11/12/13, always got bombed away in T1, last position with penalty for bumbing other cars off the road (seriously?). Have finished with 8, 11 and 14th.

I really hope PD will do some work on the penalty system, this is just painful...
