No stopping the McLaren 650S :dunce:

I finished a solid 14th, doing 2:28 laps in fm2 barely making it. I switched to fm1 for one lap to ultra short shift a 2:27 then had to do 2:29 laps to get my fuel back on track. I also spun once, too busy looking at the fuel display. These fuel save races are not helping the purpose of bop at all. Back to spit stopping, more fun.

Love the random acts of idiocy.

Straight from the start, R8 runs wide and his TCS hampers his exit whilst on the kerb. I burn some fuel to get ahead, he drives me into the wall and gets a penalty. At this point a good result for me is all but lost. Not content with this, having got his penalty he waits for me at the top of the hill and sits on an apex or two, resulting in me tapping him as he's not accelerating in an acceleration zone. Then sideswipes me and finishes off with the full ram to the tyres. Perfect. I finished 10th with a CRB.

I await all the posts telling me that this is my fault.

Did he run wide cause you tapped him 2 seconds before the video starts :sly:

There's one in every race, or two, or three :/

Had few more laps at SpA got optimum down to 2:18.5 butt had hard times to put speed in one lap...

Spa q-time 2:19.187 BB2

Lets see, if the cutting times get deleted tomorrow, will try to get that 2:18 for sure. 👍

Tested the GT40 and Lambo, could not get those under 2:20. Just too much understeer for my driving style.

As much as I love my lazy little 'Vette, I'm seeing a lot of 458 talk. It's decent in the race, evidently. But, what's it like for quali?

I did some hot laps in it and I think I can get into the mid nineteens, but I set a 2:20.0 in it. However, as I mentioned earlier, it's fuel saving pace is on par with it's hot lap pace. My short shifting lap was 2:20.233

I'd have shown it if I did!

Edit. I've just had an absolute horror race where two bad decisions cost me positions and penalties. Idiot.

I followed a car off track again while trying to get the crb for the 3rd time in the 650S :banghead: Avoided his dive first (Brazilian) then he parked his car right in front of me and ran wide, smh. 2:23 (for me) in the laren burning fuel vs 2:27 (at best) saving fuel. Seems pretty clear I need a pit stop!

Just in the same race as you.

Using the Citroen GT. FM1, short shift at 7500rpm. Easily makes a no stop, and in my ham-fisted hands, I was doing around 2.24's.

Was all set for an 8th place finish (after starting 18th) until taken out by a spinning, reckless Jag on Lap 7. They got no penalty and a blue S at the end.

That was your fault.
It wasn't your fault

a little late, but suzuka east was good to me. though i rarely post, GTS has a grip on me like most of the posters here, all of the content is very useful and entertaining, so, thanks guys (and gals?), keep it up.

UKgadgetMan; every watch his vids? funny ****
@zavisic_; your streams are awesome!

when might we see this many GTP Daily Race junkies in the world's top 100 again? matt jones #5, thought this was too large as it is to include it.

I haven't gotten to that car yet, driving them all, sorted by color this week. It's difficult to guess which has the best chance at crb for the race. flat out is less chance to get bumped from behind but more encounters due to the pit stop. fuel saving is less encounters yet pit stoppers from the front coming back through after lap 5. It's usually just chaos anyway with cars flying off, serving penalties and trying to rush back to the front. Same as always.

@Granadier
When you see a Mustang with NASCAR livery out there know you have protection. You drive classy I saw that.
I got into a scrap or two tonight, even missed entry so went to a race to kill time and got penalized into last by wall tapping.
So I kept running into the wall in last all alone...It seems the pens stop adding up at 30 seconds.
That last race was fun took 2nd in old stability power and tcs!

Murica!
@Granadier was in one of my races last night. Good driving mate !

I haven't seen a single Mazda yet...anyone else did encounter this rare breed on Spa?
No, but I was racing around in the Danger Noodle Viper yesterday. It was REALLY hard to keep up with the top people, even moreso when I goofed up, but through the luck of Kaz, two people got into an incident and got a 3rd place finish. Thank you, Kaz!

Finally managed a non stop race in the Porsche but wasn't confident enough in my approach so kept flipping between fm3/4, and fm1/2 short shifting. Still gained 2 finishing in 6th, but way off my quali time (20.9) think i might have managed a 23.x at best in the race.

I will try leaving it in fm1 and just short shifting next, can always pit on lap 7 if needed!! I can't cope with all the messing about, keep driving off the track when changing settings (especially when i go sideways to brake balance and start mucking that up by mistake)

I saw one, I'll be driving it after the Ferarri (up next). I'm going to see if all these fuel stories about the rari pan out for me. I beat a no stopper in an nsx with a one stop in the 650S, only because he crashed once... Still 7th place finish from the back, not bad.

My finish position mostly depends on whether I get into the Audi room (A+/A) or get to drive with the B to D crowd. I managed 4th at best today, in the V12 Vantage. Not that it's fast on Spa, a lot of people crashed in that race. I don't think I actually made a single pass in that one

I got sandwiched right at the start, SR Down. I have to pull over and let the non qualifiers behind me pass for any chance at a CRB. The Ferrari is indeed fine on fuel, tires are the problem for me. Slidy in the last two laps and not that stable behind wobbly laggy drivers. I'm only managing 2:23 laps in it, just slow.

Thanks! Really enjoyed racing against you as well. Thought I’d catch up those last couple laps when you got into traffic, but you were quick.

How’s the R8 feel throughout the race? I’ve been hesitant to go for it because of tire wear concerns.
I like it but you definitely need to stop after lap 4 and fill up and change the tires.

I switched to Porsche in my latest two races and I think you can no stop that one.

Pretty happy to have Spa back in the game. I know my way around but I'm need bigger 🤬. Using the Porsche, I can't go flatout at Eau Rouge, Pouhon (double gauche) scares me with it's off camber and I can't go flatout at Blanchimont either. Which render me vulnerable at key overtaking point. I'm still able to gain a few places with a no stop strategy but I didn't have any Wow! moment.

I feel like the track drag many people back to Sport Mode. Usualy I play in room filled with spread DR so we have a full grid but not this week. The room is packed of DR.A+ and A, no B or lower. And then I tried RBR and I was the only DR.A filled with up to DR.D.
