There can be a happy medium though, at least give double file starts to make it not as ridiculous

It happens in almost every professional racing series on the planet. That's just not good enough for "the real driving simulator". Jackholes on real race tracks also don't bang fenders with every car out there in order to take a position.

Need that as a bumper sticker.
@O604 made it into a license plate decal a couple of weeks ago. I already have it on a few of my cars.
7070753671851541016_1.png

I also find it more satisfying to perform well in a car that's underrated or shunned by the community.
I know what you mean. One of my most satisfying wins ever was at a BMB Infield race at least a year ago, when everybody was using the Megane, and I beat em as the lone black sheep in a Lambo. Next race had 4 Lambos in it.

Anyone for grid starts at these problem tracks?...... Nah, didn't think so :scared: :yuck:  :D

Grid start on Spa:
JqCxRqP.gif

I finished my second round driving all cars on Spa. All with no stop from the back while dosing fuel evenly for comparison.

Best laps with each car:

2:21.432 Citroen GT
2:22.215 Porsche 911
2:22.340 Ferrari 458
2:22.465 Audi R8
2:22.557 Huracan
2:22.602 F-Type
2:22.633 Peugeot VGT
2:22.690 Alfa 4C
2:22.986 Corvette C7 FM2
2:23.005 Beetle FM2 half
2:23.010 Viper FM2 2 laps
2:23.016 V12 Vantage
2:23.082 Mustang FM2 partly
2:23.121 Ford GT
2:23.185 SLS AMG
2:23.191 NSX
2:23.223 RCZ
2:23.235 Renault RS 01
2:23.393 Lexus 16
2:23.395 Supra
2:23.408 WRX
2:23.408 McLaren BMW
2:23.496 Volkswagen VGT FM2
2:23.518 Lexus 17
2:23.569 Atenza
2:23.584 BMW Z4
2:23.856 AMG
2:23.903 FT-1 VGT
2:23.912 BMW M3 FM2 first half
2:24.116 Genesis so slow on straights
2:24.201 McLaren 650S FM2 6 laps
2:24.300 GT-R
2:24.364 Lancer FM2 partly
2:24.458 BMW M6 FM2 all way

Citroen GT seems best for me driven from the back. Porsche is great as well. Audi gets a little bit squirrely in the last laps after getting punted in the first few laps while Ferrari and Huracan get really tricky if bashed around in the first half. Alfa 4C corners really nice, Corvette is fast but understeery, F-Type and Peugeot VGT sit nicely in between.

Too bad there's not enough time left to drive all again with pit stops

If I ever catch up to you in a daily race, I'm gonna screenshot that.

I tend to drive what I'm comfortable with. That list has slowly expanded. And I won, in the underdog Corvette & Viper last week at Big Willow....right before I started going META with the 86, just for the sake of getting a few more trophies. :mischievous:

I'm surprised not many more people use the Citroen GT at Spa. It's really good if you can manage shifting the gears properly to save fuel. I started using it last night and ran it for 5 races (no-stop - went from P10 to P2 on 2 occasions). Frankly, I'm a bit mad at myself for sticking with the RCZ all week long as the Citroen made the races even more fun and competitive. I'm planning to run it again for all my races today.

I've litterally seen 3 other Citroëns

Similarly, I've seen only 2 other 4Cs. I've achieved my best results so far with it.

2:21.432 Citroen GT

Alright, I'm convinced. It's time for me to use a Citroen for the first time ever.

If you're genuinely doing consistent 2:22s on a no stop then you shouldn't be too worried about being overtaken, even in A/S lobbies. Majority of one stoppers are doing 2:20 - 2:21s. Consistent 2:22s should put you into top 10 contention.

SR A and SR B lobbies that pace will take you further but you're more likely to get punted or pick up penalties getting caught out by random craziness.

As I said, been s forever. I put this together. Now, to be fair, I eliminated names to protect the innocent. The guy behind is ranked much higher and would no doubt crush me overall most tracks. He was also a fantastically clean driver, in fact the only reason I’m ahead of him is he made a mistake lap 1, knew it, and respectfully rejoined appropriately without ruining everyone’s race. He seemed to me like a really good person.
I was personally totally stoked on this livery @sturk0167 made me, and I was in a zone. I’m decent at best relative to the whole game, and I rely on races like this to maintain rating. Mustang tcs3, bb 0. As I said before this is about as well as I can do with this car/combo. But since you questioned the validity of my times, here ya go...Times are on wheel, but in case lap 2 23.1 3 22.6 4 22.3 5 and six both 22.4 within .005 of each other, no stopped it sans much assistance from draft. I think they are ok.
You can also see just as I said, him flashing me with lights and placing his turn signal on, so you can see why I talked about that.
I also put together another great vid from the @Granadier race but I don’t wanna show those game lowpoints of myself going down that much sr taking a guy out for cheating. On my main I’ve run the same time in both 911 and Supra, and I am like number five on my friends list. That’s where I hotlap, and obviously compete for the top. It’s tough though since there’s some strong players in there.
Anyways, I was up very early this morning. But this is me as a player in game. I’m no hot shoe, and maybe the fact I ran the laughing clown livery in that debacle race yesterday contributed to the aggression I experienced. Went in cold into a hornets nest!
I hope we can be friends :)
Anyways enjoy all, you ain’t gonna see me putting vid much, if ever...

Some footage from a race the other day. I know Spa is a new track so people need time to learn. But full braking at random places should initiate some ghosting. This player (https://www.kudosprime.com/gts/stats.php?profile=1010638) has raced 896 times, so not new to the game.

This lobby was SR A, with DRs spread from S to E. Lap one footage from his car. Note every driver aid enabled and being leaned on hard. The heavy brake into Radillon causes a number of issues due to the speed differential, then he weaves and blocks up Kemmell which makes sure of maximum chaos as the three cars faced with trying to manage the chaos all fail to do so to varying degrees. The punting and erratic driving continues. Their whole race was like this with cars off all over the place around this chaotic nucleus of ineptitude. Is it trolling? I don't know. Maybe it's just a little kid playing a game, which they're entitled to.

Having not been directly behind on lap one, I didn't know the trigger for carnage. On lap two, they demonstrated it and having braked hard and gone inside, they then moved to the centre of the track leaving me, with a speed differential of 20mph + and no road to play with, the only remaining options of massive punt (and inevitable penalty) or the wall to enjoy, which I chose. The Huracan is not the car to be driving when presented with trials such as these.

Happier times earlier as a no-stop with average of 2:22s in an all DR B SR S lobby yielded another podium.

Noteworthy in that race is the 2:19 pace of the polesitter; impressive but completely negated when after pitting they had to content with the reality of racing in the midfield.

After being in this thread for the week I've seen many racers changing cars throughout the races. Question that roses: why don't you stick to your prefered manu even if it means you pull on the short end of the stick? I've pretty much only driven Peugs and Citroëns in all FIA's and dailies. I don't care if a car has an advantage or disadvantage. Going to another brand (which many are great) , I feel like cheating. How do you guys handle that?

I wish manu loyalty would be more of a thing in GT Sport.

For me, it’s personal, I only use the M6 or M4 for dailies unless is a GTS provided car. Very rarely I switch car, one time I remember it was at St Croix where I had to use a Nissan GTR to be competitive.

I have been driving BMW M for so long and have been to lots of BMW events and races in the US and Europe that it feels like racing a family built car!

I could have better results if I used many cars maybe... but I like to be in those two cars, also I only race in cockpit view which is much harder but it gives more the experience of the cars personality.

I tried other cars but they didn’t do it for me. I have 300 cars in the garage but only use primarily 2. Cheers

I finally was able to get the VGT in the 2:18:xxx  Probably no time to race it anymore but seeing it is capable of those times makes me pretty happy! It is tricky though in 3th through slow and medium corners. Tends to oversteer because of the power that is available and the mid-engine drive.

@Odiesback happy to see a like minded spirit :D

Honestly, I'm struggling to follow the thread here. Are you talking about different accounts as you posted yesterday about your White Knighting dropping you to a low DR A.

The laps you posted are nice and uneventful, not sure of the relative positions in the race. As I said, with consistent 22s on a no stop you don't get overrun and race attrition and pit stops should gain you positions. The Renault driver is erratic to say the least but doesn't cause you any problems as a result. What's the issue with the light flashing?
Aggression? Hornet's nest? I'm lost.

OK, now completely irritated by the penalty system. Apologies to the turtle guy in the Supra, but he completely spun out in front of me coming out of the bus stop, and there was no way I could have avoided t-boning him. My reward was a FOUR SECOND contact penalty? This after a couple of DR downs from the same guy running me wide, which nothing more than good racing. I'll take the DR hit for a "quit" if that's how it's going to work. I love Spa, and I (sort of) love GTS, but I think I'll go for a bike ride now.

Have a nice day

Can't believe the level of stupidity sometimes, a guy in a GT-R goes if trying to pass me at blanchimont of all places and goes of somehow giving me a 1 sec penalty. Later in the race same guy just takes me of at pouhon dropping me 3 places on the last lap presumably mad that he crashed trying to overtake at the worst corner on the track. All this in an SR S lobby. Morons.

Best (worst) bit, they didn't get a penalty somehow.

That's the great thing about DR/D.... we don't give a 🤬 about things like "What car is the META?", people drive whatever the 🤬 they feel like. From a personal stand point, if I had to stick to a single marque, I'd run the GTS disk through the shredder. I find the whole idea of driving the same 2 or 3 cars race after 🤬 race, week after 🤬 week, as boring as bat 🤬. I'm not a professional driver, no one is paying me to spend hour after mind numbing 🤬 hour to use their cars, so I'm gunna drive whatever the 🤬 I want!

Yeah, but tell us how you really 🤬 feel.

Oh sensei I come seeking your wisdom. My only races this week at Spa were in @Pigems lobby, but that was without fuel and tire wear. I've only run Q laps in the R8, so I'm pretty comfortable in that car. I see that's high on your list. Also I've seen a lot of people like the Citroen for fuel saving. I;d like to try some races from the back today without pitting. I've never started in the back before, but looks like fun. Can you please share your strategies using these cars. Thanks man. Also anyone else feel free to share their thoughts on theses cars. Just thought I'd ask the master first. :)

LOL. Thanks for clearing that up.

Well, tbh maybe I was reading a tone in your posting that was not present (doubt it, but anyways)
That was my second entry that morning on my alt I recently started running. Every race on alt prior to these was no qual.
Anyhow I wanted to get a victory for a friend, already had 4-5 podiums in the six or seven races I had run. I kinda have a thing for some reason against handling cars, but that’s just a personal bit. Anyhow the r8 that flew off across my bow was in either third or fourth, can’t remember, nevertheless after a lap or two I was in third and the fella behind, looked him up, think he was mid 50k or some such. I can’t remember the qual times exactly, not sure if the pole sitter was a 17. Or low 18...This was the second in a two race sequence, the first had Turismo Lester on pole position so I knew I had no chance there. What’s funny is those first three or four knew each other because they were trading jabs pre race chat...On my main account, I have battled with been beaten by or beaten players with top ten on the server qual many times.
So I hope we can be more cordial in our interactions here. I don’t usually put up videos or do that stuff, I just like the experience provided by the game, and I enjoy writing war stories and the community here. For some reason I get a sense that you are quite competitive, and I love that, it’s great everybody is. I just think maybe we have gotten off on the wrong foot.
It’s nice racing in BS lobbies for me, because I can race comfortably, without warm up as long as I keep it clean on the alt, or race in events I never run and suck at from the back. So, anyways, I hope we can be friends. :)
Here’s some stats from both...I am sure you’re probably a plus, and have more points, but I don’t care. I know how much effort I have put in and time, and I’m not embarrassed to show stuff.
I just like having fun, although at times I can lose my cool.
Edit, the alt stats couldn’t fit, but after ten days it’s like 28k 99, although this week I did put in a carefully measured qual in on that, wait it went to 97 after my rage quit...Guess you don’t lose much when you are lowest in a room of a plus and a...

Genuinely just trying to unravel what you'd written and make sense of it.

Draft and save the first lap, don't get in between cars, just pass accidents until lap 2. Same for all cars, coast into the chicane, keep a safe margin, no hurry to catch up until halfway in the first lap. Stay in draft range but never too close to get caught up in an accident or early braking. Keeping a bit of a distance also makes the car ahead concentrate on driving fast instead of defending, and is more likely to overdrive trying to get away from you. Pounce when the car ahead goes wide, otherwise save up fuel to pass on the straight.

You'll get a few free passes when cars pit but not that many anymore. The Citroen GT is great for defending as well and isn't bothered by using the kerbs. The last laps can be intense with cars slowing down in front while pit stoppers are putting the pressure on from behind. Fun!
