Not seen this before. Having just been punted off a few times, I come up to the last sequence of bends and someone parks on the outside kerb. I clumsily drive into them, having expected them to move and not wanting to drive into the gravel, the parker quits (why they parked), I get a penalty. Good job.

They didn't quit. You got the penalty because you hit them so hard, you knocked them out of the game! :p
 
thank god i made an alt account , otherwise i would have thrown the PS4 out of the window numerous times

standing start for race C is a ****ing disaster EVERY SINGLE TIME : you get punted from pole , you go through the runaway but now you have dirty tires so you get more dive bombs at the next corner and before you know it you go from 1st to last with a 5sec penalty for good measure
 
Hi guys, I'm new here though I've been following the discussions for a while.

Question: is it just with me or the SR system has been insanely punitive in the last couple of weeks? It seems that EVERY contact takes 1 or 2 SR points down, and even the slightest touch activate the orange tag. On the other hand, clean races are giving me 4-6 points on C races and 1-2 points on A and B. As a matter of comparison, last time I had to grind back SR, I was getting 7-9 points for A-B and 14-15 for C.

Today I had a clean B race that gave me 2 points. In the next one, someone contacted me and got off the track, I've got a sadly usual 5 second penalty and -20 SR.

I'm thinking of giving up on this system, I'll just try to get fun races among dirty drivers, as hard as it looks like.
 
2:29.996 in the WRX. The Jag is quick too, but the extra stability in the WRX gives me more confidence going through the corners.

Not much under 2:30, but I’ll take it! Starting p5 this race. Thank god. The back of the pack sucks, haha.

finished p3. Probably done for the night. Finished at DR 19100, and SR 71. SR S will have to wait until tomorrow.

With figures like that I'm guessing you are A or A+. Lower DRs get smaller penalties. I did Race C last night and saw one SR down. I gained 10 SR.
I think the highest penalty I've had for contact was 4s and for that you really have to have drilled the other car into the shadow realm. The game holds the upper echelon to a higher standard, but doesn't account for the actions of lower DR ranks that you might be mixed with. Maybe they arn't used to the effect of drafting, don't break early enough to account for it, slam into you, and you get the penalty because the game decided that you brake checked them. :banghead:

You can go flat through Eau Rouge and Blanchimont with the WRX 👍. At least in qualifying ... I guess I'll find out tonight if it works in race, but I seem to recall the rexy handles the same in race as quali.. some cars do, some cars don't.

I'm actually DR B now, almost getting back to C. I do get the system's criteria about who's gonna get the penalty or not, I'm just frightened of how the numbers are working now. It does makes sense that the numbers are different as the last time I grinded I was DR C, but still, this huge SR downfall is very frustrating.
 
So I got some Top 5 finishes in race B. I had to get off before I jumped into Race C. Tonight was fairly clean, some nice rubbing and shoving but I only got punted once well twice. At the last chicane, but I drove straight thru the middle around the barrier. Kept my spot and neither guy got a penalty lol. Got hit by both P4 and P5 for the tag team punt from behind.

I did manage a nice outside pass at the last chicane on lap 3. I'll have to figure out how to upload it with a phone or iPad. If anyone knows an easy way please let me know!

Easy. Easy. I am b sr thank you very much. I can’t help it if they race super formula at a great track and I have to race without warmup.
It’s not my fault.
There was a terrible flood...my car broke down on a straight...my pit crew put on the wrong tires...I was sick...The dog ate my shifter...LOCUSTS!

Edit: Well, didn't come out of that one unscathed. RC F kept glitching. I got .5 seconds for nothing. It acce;lerated ahead after T1, I follow it close behind at the entry of Eau Rouge and I get the penalty lightning quick and I have to serve it right then! Weird!!

It allows a fast closing F-Type to get me by T3. The RC F is struggling the rest of the lap to Blanchimont. So much so, I catch up to both cars at the left-hand kink and into the bus stop. In which both cars go straight ahead and vanish.

Edit2: Watched the replay. I get pinged on lap 2 for this. Matter of fact it, message doesn't say what I did. WHether that's only when the race is live, I don't know.

All I can think while lapping Spa is "the French are total Gryffindors."

And also "why are these ****ing little green bollards launching my 3000 pound Jaguar 5 feet in the air??" Lost a very promising 3rd place because I hit two in the same corner and took flight into the gravel trap :confused:

Yup, because of pinball newtons cradle physics, a little tap by the very last player can chain react all the way forward, without losing any energy, to the pole man trying to get through T1.
