A and B are not my jam. I can already tell, haha.

I did some qually at Autopolis. Running consistent low 49s in the Vette with a fast lap just into the 48s and an optimal around 48.5z I think I need to drop another second or 2 to be competitive at DR B. I’ll try some of the cars y’all have mentioned later.

Not going to lie. I could spend all day driving the Toyota on Yamagiwa in that sunrise setting. Car feels almost too good to me. Like the S-FR Concept. Track in this direction is fun. If you go down, you go down with honor.

edit - In case of any confusion. Not sarcasm.

I do not understand the evident attitude that I actually EXPECTED to happen...

That makes me the fool.

TUNE! or don't TUNE!

Do Race A!

Or complain about how much s**t you are having in C?

People, PHUUUU-LEEZE!

Get with it, find your vice, or don't compete, and save your "ALT"...

Does anybody have anything positive to say about ANYTHING?

I got 2 wins in Daily A.
Best 2nd in Daily B... NO TUNE.

Not a big fan of Autopolis. - Did some qualifying laps to get warmed up. Down to 1:47.63 in the M6 with room to improve... hopefully :D

I usually use Monday for some qualis and to remember the track. Will try again tomorrow.

What is with the grumps?:D
Aside from the tune vs. no tune discussion it hasn't been that bad today. Most people doing the races finding out that Autopolis has more of a challenge than they thought, making it more interesting and thus better than expected. That and the 86 on race A is a bit of a wild one and therefore quite the handful. Other people not racing isn't that bad. Every week someone doesn't like the combos so nothing unusual.

Have a beer, grab the 86 and get bonkers at Yamigawa. :) I am lacking the finesse on it to keep up the speed, so got trousered when I went out there, but it was fun.

Ok, I couldn’t help myself, I had to try it, it’s my favourite car in the whole damn game! I still don’t like tuning in Sport Mode though. :grumpy:

Took 3rd in my first race at Autopolis after my QT put me in 9th. Just survival of the fittest on the cluster of the first lap and the third fastest lap, too, I guess. I ran 1:49s and 1:50s the whole race save for a lap where I spun out.

It’s going to be fun, I think, if I can stay out of the junk.

edit: took my trusty beetle out for the first time.

Not trying to be a jerk but, suspension tuning is almost the only tuning allowed in RL racing events\series. You don't hear drivers saying it's unfair they don't know their opponents suspension setup, period.
In all seriousness, look through the forums for setups or ask somebody! Saying it's unfair just seems petty. I'm not saying it's unfair someone with a racing wheel is still beating me, using the stupid PS controller, thats life, adapt or stop complaining.

The problem with tuning in GTS is real car set up has little in common with the virtual GTS world. The game is also missing the biggest tuning aid that no real life racer would show up at the track without, tire temps.

So, had some time to go in country on the Tsukuba thing. For my style the stock car settings suck.
So, I started racing and tuning as I went. First race I got lapped. I dunno if that stock tune is some drift thing or something but for the way I rotate cars it totally sucked.
So, got the tranny and diff where I think they are decent after 3 hours of races, suspension still needs a bit of work but it’s getting better. My car is still much too vague feeling for my taste, but I’m setting up for running tight all day. No damn drift garbage.
3 Effie hours and I know it can get better, but I was having fun racing. I gotta say, it’s not bad doing some tuning IF YOU HAVE TIME LIKE I DID TODAY.
I have a decent understanding of what does what, but I am not a huge fan of the car yet.
The funniest thing that happened is I was cooking and said ok one more. Remember now I accidentally set a qual too, which I didn’t want to do, but alcohol, anyways next race I got one of these blame so and so names touting his twitch feed starting ahead of me.
Hehehe, it’s on like Donkey Kong!
I get by him, he bashes by me and gets a pen for running me off, then crashes on his own lol. But, another blame guy started last, and in the last tight right before the back straight I ran wide in 4th because the 3 cars in front kinda forced me off the good line.
So blame guy 2 has a run, I wait until he tries to pull out into the last right hand sweeper before the finish line, but he manages to get inside and bashes by me, jerk.
I didn’t have enough time to catch. I did beat the first watch my stream message blame my donkey guy though.
When I see a blame something handle that means be aggressive and send them to meet Hasselhoff if they give the opportunity.
Another poor soul fell victim to mr twitch on replay, he got pushed off.
Tuning is a nuisance, give me at least a suitable setup stock for Christ’s sake. A couple turns I went right off in the car stock the way I drive which is heavy trail braking based and tight lines.
Whatever.
If you name yourself blame so and so, you are pretty much automatically on my alt punt on sight list.
Almost got the podium there, but good news I am already A sr now, hope to be s soon on alt if I get a chance to play manyana.

Cheers

If you want to use an oddball car for race c, give the NSX a chance. It’s agile af through the corners and it has really good tire wear.

Ive got a mid 1.46 with the 911 which is probably as good as ill get with this car. Ive been a big fan of the nsx in the past, i will definitely see if i can best this time with this car.

Maybe I've been living under a rock but when did they add the penalty for passing someone under a yellow flag? Happened to me at Autopolis and it shocked me.

It's been there for a long time. Just ask @Sven Jurgens, he'll tell you. ;) I've personally never gotten a penalty for passing a car under a yellow flag and I must have passed loads of cars while it was on.

I need this decal. Do you have a link?

in that particular instance I didn't have time to create a decal (@Pigems Friday night lobby was due to start about an hour beforehand), so it was done one letter at a time from the "Font" square of the livery editor, however I did later create and share a decal pretty similar:

If you use the tag #tcp (yeh, I seem to have tcp on the brain instead of tpc .) in discovery, you should find it 👍

yeah 1 race at autopolis was enough. does anybody actually practice the track before a race? like how do people set decently quick lap times and have no idea where to brake? its a joke. i think i do need an alt . im tired of losing dr/sr on combos i dont even like because people suck.

Race C is like driving on ice, if you turn the car slides, if you brake it slides, if you accelerate it slides. Even if you get all of that under control you're stuck following the car ahead. Medium or soft tyres would race a lot better imo.

Race B has tuning so that's a no-go, race A might be fun but since it is A all the cars will look the same. It's a shame when both races last week were so good.

I enjoyed tuning the car, feeling the changes. But I definitely got sucked into that constant tinkering rather than improving my driving black hole. I don't think I'll race it - will head to race C I think.

I was definitely conscious that the GT Sport tuning probably isn't very transferable - but was nice for a change of pace, just so time consuming!

It might be a matter of who you are as a person. I spent 5 minutes, then ran qt,then spend 2 minutes tweaking, then raced.
Then I used someone else's tune and ran. After two races I adjusted for 30 seconds, since then I have been racing.
And for once I am in the top half on my friends list.

Edit: it is actually rather transferrable. The thing is that you change the same settings, only you do the spring stuff by replacing the springs, then adjusting preload etc. The camber adjust is very much the same, you just turn a screw, then lock it.
What we are missing are the stuff like caster, tire pressure, weight transfer and so on.
