@The_Tullster Congrats on the win. I saw your new qualy time. 🤬! I thought I was closing in on your time. I can see I'm not going to do well on Sat arvo .

I sell the seeds of misery. I got a race and a track to meet. Make that qualy. Get on the grid. C'mon. Chase the Dragon! So in my efforts to catch up to Fudsy's time with the Viper, I did improve on my rexy time. Was still a second off my target (and now my Viper is sporting RAAF roundels, I was ready to pull the trigger), however I'm DR/D not C or B, so I started P3/15. This pleased me and I figured I had a chance of actually finishing in the top 5.

Race starts and T1/2 was not great. A Lexus decided to out brake me and try to push me wide on the exit of the T1/2 chicane. I managed to hold on to the curbstones by the slimmest of margins. He was slow in the next corner, and when I went to overtake on the outside, he pushed me off on to the sand . I dropped from 4th to last place.

Head down, bum up and on with the show. After my last race, and having been pushed off, I knew enough to know that I would not be able to take the next corner and the esses the way I usually do.. I'd end up in the sand again :banghead:. I backed off a hair with when applying throttle and that was enough to scrub the tyres by the time I got to the corner before the bus stop 👍. I had caught up to the back and passed one person just before the entrance to the bus stop, and a few more after the exit. Exit speed, 180kph.

I started lap 2 in P12. I caught up with the P11-P6 pack. P11 was the Lexus that pushed me off before. In the same place he tried it again! didn't work and I stuck behind him. Another successful bus stop, and up to P10. Exit speed, 183kph.

I stayed with the pack, went up to P9, was doing 187 exiting the Bus stop, then dropped to 135 after hitting the car in front who was having a hard time .. my hit gave him a boost and changed his direction enough to stop him hitting the outer wall . I dropped a position.

Final lap, the Lexus tried to cut the chicane at T2, catches the kitty litter, and spins... I giggle :p. I'm up to P8 approaching the corner I was knocked off, side by side with a fellow Aussie. We trade paint, but it seems to just be a bit of rubbing, not a deliberate lack of care. I lost a couple of places, but make them up again through the esses. Up to P7. Sadly I was too wide on the next corner and had to slow right down to avoid hitting the wall. Cutting back onto the track I drop a place :nervous:. And on to the bus stop for the last time, and my last chance to screw it up in spectacular fashion :scared:. Exit speed 188kph and whoosh I go to take P6. I had a sirocco right up my arse on the final corner. He drafted me up the hill and I was expecting him to pass me just before the finish line. He didn't, he was right on my bumper.

SR blue, DR up 328. Another day above DR 1 :odd:.

Eagerly waiting to see what next week's races are. It's annoying that we already got Suzuka 2 weeks in to 2020. I'm worried that Spa and Laguna will quickly be forgotten by PD. There were a lot of tracks that we only saw once last year.

I suspect we'll get Bathurst as race C the week after(week starting Jan 27th) as the 12 hours of Bathurst is that weekend. Hopefully it's a fun combo!

Man, I got my qualify time down to 1:46:9xx on Dragon Trail and I still can't crack the top 5. Some of y'all need to slow down and take in the scenery. Life is too short to go that fast lol.

I did manage a 1:46:4xx during a race but that lap was fueled by pure rage which is something I can't duplicate in qualifying.
I saw you there twice, yesterday. First time, it looked like you disconnected before the start. Second time, I was the weirdo in the WRX that said Hi to you before the start. I was on my alt account.

It is wrong on so many levels. But before the update they could do the same and you where the one who got penalised. Now at least you can defend yourself.
The receiving of penalties for being the victim was the worst thing - not only did you lose places from being knocked off track, you then lost more from serving the penalty! Result, DR and SR drops through no fault of your own.

I've been running in Race A this week, and have been the victim of a few deliberate rammings, but have in most cases been able to make places up again. I've also had some of the best, contact free, races that I have had since GT Sport was released. Result, my DR has been rising steadily.

Please let it be Gr.3 and not 4. That's all I ask.

It still is one of the most enjoyable Race C combos I've had the pleasure of racing when it last appeared back in March 2019. Way more fun with Gr.3 and you don't see yellow Meganes everywhere either.
Has it really been that long since we had Gr.3 at Bathurst? Jesus.

But couldn't agree more, it's one of the best Gr.3 tracks in the game.

Well after the frustration of Monday and not getting the lap together on Dragon Trail. Today it came together and finally into the 1.44’s for the first time in this combination.

I did it. I dared to race on the sunny coast of Croatia (btw. if any of you non-Europers ever comes over here make sure to visit the croatian region of Istria; Mario Andretti was born there and the village is a gorgeous place) in my trusted M4. I managed to get my time down to 1:47.5 which is quite a progress since monday which put me to 4th on the starting grid.

Well, I had a feeling and my feeling was right: The first lap was quite clean with just the usual small bumps. However in Lap 2 some punk decided to push me off in the first chicane. Dirty tires, and a large group of other cars put me into 14th place. I managed to get back to 10th where I finished. At least I lost just 100 DR so it was worth a try and helped in making the decision in not racing again this week.

Oh, and please allow me to introduce a song which perfectly fits my attempt, especially the knocking and the angry "One of these days I'm going to cut you into little pieces":

I don't even live there. But we still have a ton of traffic here.
Last 10 years the Bay Area(San Franciso area) had gone worsen and worsen. I recall driving 50 miles in less an hour and today is 1 1/2 hour sometimes more. (during rush hour from 2 pm to 7 pm). Too many damns bridges and merge. I believe in the next 10 years here will be like LA.

Ayyy, Bay Area buddies!
What sucks is that depending where you are/where you have to go, there are (sometimes) no good way to get there, because every possible way to/from there is plauged by traffic. When I had to go to/from Hayward during rush hour, having to take I-880 was a miserable experience. Taking the roads around it weren't any better.

Travelling in/around SF wasn't fun either. I studied in SF, and having to deal with all that traffic just to get around wasn't fun.

We could complain about this all year.

Edit: driving on 880 when it rained hard was terrifying, as it seemed like no one knew how to drive safely under those conditions and were asking for an accident to happen.

Holy moly, GT4 cars at the chicane of death are interesting, I still find no line to take it flat out.
You kind of have to look through the barrier for the line. If you wait until you can see through the second section, you're turning in too late. Some cars will flick through, others kind of won't. 86, M4, Vette, Atenza work for me. In others I tend to bang the rear fender on the outside wall at the end.

Two races last night at DT. First one started P4, bumped off by a dive bomb in the first hairpin and got pissed since I didn't understand the new penalty system. Wound up last, but had the fastest lap. Afterward gave the dude that hit me a simple "Dude...." So on to the next.....

Started P4 again with the same guy in front this time, as he had cut a few hundredths off QT. P1 and P2 were engaged in demolition derby before the first turn and were out in no time. So just me and Dude. This time he was completely clean and we had an incredible race. I took him after the esses, where I was just a bit faster, and then he would catch me after T1. I managed to stay in front and erk out a win. Decided to stop while I was ahead.Good times.

Penaly system or not, today was a good day for me. Race B, qualified 2nd. P1 binned CoD on lap 1. I get my second ever 1st place with about 3 seconds clear of 2nd place, smooth as silk all race. Normally I'd bin it within half a lap of getting anywhere near 1st place from nerves, I am so pleased with this.

Great job. My binning at the CoD was with a 3+ second lead. I should have slowed down just a little. Oh well. I should share a couple of my race replays. That 7th win on my alt account was almost not a win. Dude in a Jaguar was cutting my time lap after lap. Was rather fun & exciting.

Agreed, and I’ll add...if someone gets a much better run through there, don’t try to block them on their way by.

I pulled off a great move coming out of the chicane when someone slowed down a bunch. I'm shocked at how fast these Gr. 4 cars are getting through there. Maybe the wheel is allowing me to be more predictable coming out. :odd:

COD. Once in qualify I came out going 196 km/h thinking "oh yeah baby" then promptly binned it in the last turn. And I have come to a full stop a few times. In race I turn in before the boom and slightly feather the gas right before turning in.
Then half the time there is a car just unghosting right in front of me

Friendly reminder this is worth 5sec but blasting someone a few times a race isn't.

These wall pens are the ones that needed to go, I don't need to be kicked while I'm down. I know I've made a mistake.

Through what channels does PD receive feedback from players? Surely its there in some form as the current penalty system seems like a strong reaction to the complaints of the last setup? I do doubt they've got a staffer scrolling through here though.

I have finally got above 20k again after a derby fest at Interlagos that gave me a reset a couple of months back.

And man, the lobbies for DTS are so different after jumping from 18k DR to 23k (aside from the fact that my 1:46:5xx QT seems to be below average now). With everyone still on SR S, there was a lot more racecraft in the 18k lobbies, particularly with the penalty system update, dive bombs and Brazilian Seb Vettel everywhere, a run away from pole seem to be the only way to get a clean race.

Reckon I'm going to stay away from Dailies for a while, maybe FIAs if they degrade too. The penalty system has gone way too far the other way. Just had races where I've had reasonably high level players I'm familiar with just spit the dummy and start punting people off. I tested it and punted a Korean guy that got me earlier in the race and I got nothing. It's just silly.

I have the exact same feeling. Some other who have paid more attention in exploring the new system has taken advantage of me. I have been delibrately dive bombed and push off on the straight (more delibrate than Seb Vettel in Brazil) without penalities given

Had my first shot at the Daily Race B.

Holy moly, GT4 cars at the chicane of death are interesting, I still find no line to take it flat out.

But the behaviour of other drivers is very annoying there. Even if you are 3/4 car in front of the others, there is nearly no chance they back up in the chicane. Result is, either you slam your breaks and get pushed out of the way by the following racers or you have to deal with two cars where normally even one car is quiet a bit tricky.

Tested yet two cars.

The Jaguar F-Type is very easy to handle at the Dragon Tail. Nearly no traction problems, fast in a straight line and overall planted when it comes to cornering action.
Supra GT4 is for my driving style not 100% suitable. I have the feeling, that there is quiet some softer set up and the car feels underdamped. As I have quiet some problems with trailbraking, this feature in the Supra hampers me more than it helps for a good lap time.

Thanks to the new penalty system my SR is stable at 99, but DR is constantly falling as you were pretty often pushed out of the way cause of a lack of penalties for this. I may be #23.991 who is stating this, but they need to fix that....

Like some others have mentioned, I can only do it in some cars, like the NSX, but not others. I still like the GTR the most, and have to lift slightly through there.

Yeah I have beaten my own QT by up to a second in the race before, when I had drafts in all straight sections

I can say that I did see someone getting a 4 sec penalty for barging in and pushing me wide in the esses last night, but again nothing for other stuff like rammed full speed into the wall or rear ending me into the COD. And yes, they had a better exit from the hairpin but were only just catching me there, and this was the entrance not exit so I am full on the gas. Still went full punt,

Part of the issue too is people are getting blue SRs at the end of races regardless of their conduct. Will probably mean even if the system is fixed somewhat, we'll get a lot of potatoes that are higher SR ranks than they deserve.

Did a race B today. No need to talk about that....

Anyways there was one car being a jerk and I thought it quit but in hindsight I think the game took them out. I hope so. They used to do this.

It was like 3 strikes you're out. Barge passed a car, turn later bumped me off, then about a half way around the track later bumped a 3rd car and disappeared.

Could be they quit. But my hope is the game has brought back that filter.

Overtaking on Suzuka is hard. There aren't many spots on the course where you can pull of clean overtakes, so you spend a frustrating amount of time sitting behind other cars. Coupled with the dirty air, fuel and tyres, things can get tedious. There were many occasions where I got close the back of a car, but simply couldn't draw alongside. Maybe the Evo Group 3 just lacks straight line speed. Yet despite that, I made up 9 positions from 15th on the grid. Most of the overtakes came off the back of other people's mistakes.

not gonna lie...it’s getting old finishing in the bottom 1/3 and running the fastest lap at DT. People can’t seem not to punt you out of the galaxy on the first lap.

manu was fun at BMB even though I got taken out hard on the 4th lap. I’d be into a daily there at some point.
