Look at this comedy duo:

I only did 2 races last night, both in the Nissan. It's very fast on the straights but a bit of a pain everywhere else. I got a best result of 4th. I forgot to save the replay of the second race which also had a funny moment. A Supra went off at the Chase, and rejoined the track right in front of me. I had to hit the brakes and turn to the left, but the guy behind collected him and they both went into the wall on the right. Pure gold.

For a hill, men would punt, why? They do not know. Gone insane from the pain that they surely know....Did some laps with the Mustang last night because it's tradition that I get the bad stuff over first, before I can move on to the good stuff... like the Beetle :P.

Took a bit, but I managed to at least reach the target I had set for myself. Think there was still a little bit more to be had, but I wanted to get this over with. The Holden Mustang had me starting a surprising P4/18 on a mixed grid of DR/C and D... mostly D so I knew I needed to finish P7 or above to be in with any points.

And so it begins, all the drama, of Mount Panorama. Auto drive lets go in a strait line for a change . I got a little loose at Hell corner, the Mustang behind me tried to snuffle his way through the inside, but it didn't take and I kept position up Mountain Strait. The section between Griffins and The Cutting was a free for all. I was stuck in the middle of two overlapping ghosts (so yeh, 3 cars all occupying the same cars sized space of tarmac). One unghosts to gift me with a 2s penalty. Someone blew Sulman and up P3 I go entering Skyline, with the Mustang that was behind me, in front of me. Got a tad loose , tapped a wall on the way though and got hit with another 5s penalty. On to Conrod still P3, but carrying 7s into the penalty zone. I pulled over to the right, by the time I unghosted, I'd dropped to P7, then P8 entering The Chase. Gutted.

Stuck like poop on a goldfish's arse to the Porsche in P8, and managed to get past him on the drag up Mountain Strait and in to Griffins first. The turn into The Cutting was a little less Bathurst 12h and a little more Tokyo Drift, but I still managed to stay ahead... I got good drive out of the corner . I caught up to the three in front of me at The Dipper, and it was pandemonium! I kinda had to back off to stay outta the mix, because those three looked ugly trying to squeeze through to Forest Elbow. One didn't do Forrest so well (never good with cars close behind), so up again I go! The Chase was interesting. A WRX up ahead had lost his 🤬 and ended up a passenger through the grass at the kink. I had to swerve onto the grass through The Chase to avoid his re-entry. There was still some rubbing, but no penalties given. We headed side by side towards Murray's, where he picked up a 1s penalty. I lost a position in the fray to the Porsche behind me, back to P7 :guilty:.

This paragraph starts the same as the previous one, more or less. I passed a Herbie serving a penalty up Mountain Strait, so P6 again 👍. The Porshe and I were side by side through Griffins, however I passed him on the outside. He had better drive up towards The Cutting. We were side by side, with 3/4 of a car width between us at the kink before The Cutting. Herbie had some momentum and didn't feel the need to brake, sent it up the middle, pushed me into the wall and picked up a 4s penalty for being overoptimistic :dopey:. The Porsche spun at The Cutting. I didn't have to wait till Conrod to pass Herbie, he spun at The Esses before The Dipper . Lap 4 sees me starting P5 :dopey:.

Fear not gentle reader, I'm not doing a paragraph per lap :P. Lap 4 and 5 saw me chasing after the WRX in P4. He got 2 wheels on the grass exiting Murray's and rotated sideways and hit the wall on the other side of pit lane. P4 across the line for me! Now to circulate and try not to 🤬 up . Heading into Reid I see "Yellow Flag, Overtaking is Prohibited" flashing up the top, and into P3 entering Skyline. This was when i started to get the jitters :scared:. The Viper I passed was right on my heels, he had unghosted just after I passed him :nervous:.

Lap 7 and I was staring to feel the tyres. I caught up to P2 on Mountain strait and was right on him across the top of the Mountain, even closer coming down. He was in another Mustang and I didn't get a better exit out of Forrest, so I maintained position, and striking distance. I was kinda hoping he'd choke and make a mistake... no such luck. Instead I did a pretty convincing impersonation of the WRX at the end of lap 4 :banghead:. I held on to P3, but the Viper in P4 was right up my arse and decided to send it up the inside at Griffins. That cost him a 1s penalty because he made contact and I scraped the wall as a result. I just stuck with him, not doing anything stupid, knowing that I just have to wait till Conrod 👍. I didn't have to wait that long. His nose scraped the inside wall of The Dipper and he spun.

With 1 and a bit laps to go it was sweating bullets time again :scared:. I managed to hold it together for a P3 finish. The Viper was doing donuts at the exit to Forrest elbow when I crossed. I think he had tyre issues. His laps were generally a second or two faster than mine, except the last two.

SR 99, DR up about 940. The DR/C journey continues :dopey:.

I like Race C at Bathurst this week with GT3 cars. It's a shame that everyone tries to do a barge pass at Turn 21, though. Without fail, if another player is ~0.5 seconds behind you, you might as well prepare for a move; brake softly to give them the impression that they have an opening, they overshoot the corner, go off-course and lose positions, while you get a decent exit without causing an incident. Maybe after enough times of barging themselves off the course will they learn to just be patient. The first two laps are always hell, though

This week is also the week where I have decided to try my hand at driving other cars besides the Jag, yet once again I found myself coming back to it just after the fourth race, after I sampled the Mitsubishi and the BMW M6. I still have yet to try my whole garage of other GT3 cars this week but from my deductions the Jag and the Merc-AMG GT3 seem exceptionally strong with the current BoP, especially on this course, in my opinion. The Jag is a wild cat but is still very tamable. Love it.

Anyone have any car suggestions I should try out? The M6 seems a tad slow on the straights and the Mitsubishi is rather unstable on the esses; I usually leave the Brake Balance on 0 but maybe I should try adjusting it for the Mitsubishi to counteract the instability.

Yeah, I just hate the Megane. I’ve driven the f-type a bunch because of FIA, so I’m sure that’s some of it, but my lap times are consistently 3/4 seconds faster with it at Sardegna.
QT is 1:26.8. Put me P5 to start in a low B/S room. Pushed off after the sharp uphill left on the first lap and finished last. It’s amazing how people will forgo a smart racing line if they think they can manage to get their nose in.

I generally agree B races are short although I wouldn't say pointless and instead less fulfilling with more emphasis on qualifying. I'm actually preferring Sardegna B in short bursts rather than when it was a full-length Race C like last time.

A good compromise is doubling laps to 8. That way the race isn't over in under 6 mins and it's still shorter than Race C.
My main problem may be the wait time between races.

Do you all ever have one of those races where it goes down to the wire, to where after the race, you have to step away because the excitement/intensity of the race left you shaking?

That may have been me just now in this C race I just finished.
These are the races we drive for. Nicely done man.

edit: I just had one of these myself. Dead god I was wired afterwards. This track is insane when driving at the edge.

Need to find a new car for race c. Tried the AMG, which I normally love, but can't get the bloody donkey to turn. I hate having to downshift a Gr3 car in order to get it to turn in. I'm a fan of the Beetle but the car seems twitchy as hell. Might give the Vette a try. I'm still searching for the right fit...

Also, I'm still stuck at SR A and the racing on the Mount has been criminal. My Lord, it's so filthy. To my credit I've been punted and multiple times but haven't retaliated so I'm getting that SR up! I need to get back to S ASAP.

The Mustang. It's fast enough to keep up and even slipstream the GT-R and agile enough to keep up with the Porsche and Beetle across the mountain.

But man there are some dirty driver in this week's race C. Swerving on straights to block when you are going 30-40 km/h faster, pushing your rear at the Cutting to get a chance to pass and so on and so on.

Yesterday I had to swerve for a Porsche who tried to block me at the Mountain Straight, so I came all wrong into the Quarry, this missing my brake point and pushing another player wide.
My fault absolutely, but his reaction was to try and slam me (ghosted so no). Then I slowed down on the mountain and pulled over to let him by. So he runs straight into me and slam me in the wall. He gets 2 second and then starts a fight with the next guy...
So I passed both coming out the elbow. Didn't look back.

Big Lex. Excellent tyre life and fuel is no worry. Full throttle racing. Now, I'm going to qualify.

My initial lap before the next race. There's more in that.

What happened to the Bentley green?
Just jumped straight into the races. I also thought it was Nations tonight.

I'll wrap it now. ;)

Oh, this last race, had a sweet battle with that GT-R. it's weak everywhere but the straights. The F1 was behind me. I had to keep slowing up. So, Lap 8, I ease up and let the F1 have a go. Mistake.

It's weak in braking and the tail wags.
Coming down Conrod, I pull up to its bumper at The Chase. Braking for Murray's, it's still braking and not turning. Oh well, I avoid a collision and turn right, to head into town. There's a Woolies there, right?:indiff:

What's worse, they both got penalties. I could have been ahead at the finish.

Used the jag for this evening's C races. It seems to really suit Bathurst.
QT was good enough for 2nd place in C group. 1st place went wide at T2 up the hill, nearly followed him but just managed to cut inside & take P1, built up a 9 second lead, by lap 3, maintained it throughout, until I got complacent & what I thought was the final lap wasn't :scared: Cross the line expecting to see race finish and the Jag carries on  Miss my brake point for T1 and hit the gravel noooo, seemed to take forever to get back on track, by the time I hit the end of the straight P2 is 3.5 sec behind. I manage to keep the wheels on track and take the win by 4 sec.
Needed a rest after that, ha.
Tried the M6 a bit later, didn't quite gel with it around Bathurst, 1 sec off my QT in the Jag and couldn't run with the pack unless I was drafting.

Looks like everyone has figures out how fast the GTR is in a straight line at Bathurst tonight. Nearly half the field in the last race all in mid pack leading a queue of slip streaming cars. Saw one pack of 6-8 cars weaving down conrod as the front car tried to break the tow.

The thing looks horrible to drive between Griffin's bend and the elbow though. Had one on my tail .5 behind at Griffin's and exiting the elbow had 2.6, dr a driver as well so no slouch.

Having a good driver rating doesn’t make you a good driver!

Well, that field of GT-Rs were down the field in my race. An AMG GT was the leader. It went wide at The Cutting in Lap 2. I lead from there to the start of Lap 8. Big Lex was in the sweet spot for those laps.

I was too cautious into Hell Corner and that gave the AMG just enough to get the tow. I gave room at T2 and was setting my game plan at Sulman when the AMG disco'd.
It's a fantastic beast and I'm glad I found it. ;)

It's Tuesday. Maybe I should try a few other cars in C. I am happy with what I drive, sure, but maybe just to spice things up a bit...
Maybe the Aston and the Lexus...
I've been lacking an MR car that I'm comfy in for gr. 3 and I've been trying the NSX round Bathurst (there was one in the top 10 yesterday so why not).

Always heard the car was skechy and unsettled but to me it's more like... Lively. But it didn't bite my head off on the exits like I imagined it might. Really quick feeling, pointable car, so I was thinking of using it as an outlier car for C, I think it could do alright. Feels quick up and down the mountain itself.

EDIT: Qualifying only thus far. Waiting for a patch of well behaved WiFi still :P

Try the RCZ and the 911 I always find them to be the most stable Mr cars
