Got the 180SX down to a 1:59.3 so far, there’s still more there, but I run out of patience really quickly on these Tokyo tracks. :lol: A late apex on the hairpin is helpful, also cut the 🤬 out of the chicane, this car takes it well. :)

I’m a little surprised that you have any patience at all this morning after running 100+ laps there yesterday, haha.
 
RCZ it is I guess, got a 1:56.7 which should net some poles. Best strategy for Monza is just staying out of the way of everyone. Relatively easy to be consistent if you can drive freely.

Looking forward to this weeks races. I still wish we could stay away from Tokyo with these slow cars. The lap feels like it takes an hour to complete due to the low speed.

Brand Hatch is the only track I've spent some time on, but only group 4. Braking points are completely different in the group 3 cars. The bummer is that it seems we can't use different compounds in the qualifier, so I got no idea what strat to use during the race... I'll probably just copy who might be in front.

I'm looking forward to racing at Monza the first time. I haven't spent any time there yet.

Not a lot of experience with Monza, pulled a 1:59:5 in the NSX but I reckon my peak is probably a mid 58, that first chicane is such a hassle!

Do you think the NSX is the best car for the track? What strat do you plan on using for that?
 
Looks like the RS01 is the Q car for race C this week, not sure about in race but it’s fast as hell for qualifying. Optimal says there’s a couple more tenths there but I can’t string it together just yet, 1:21.4 so far. :)

I tried using it in the Nations race a couple weeks ago, and it ate rear tires. I used the WRX to fairly good effect in the race, and actually set a better practice time in it than I did in the Renault.

I have no idea what exactly it is PD is doing, and i wish we had more critical journalism when there is a chance to ask them what their plans are.
I might as well start playing like they do, though i really suck at it. This dude was after me the entire race, and i did not succeed in paying back his manners..

I encountered this fine gentleman in 3 races over the weekend and he did the same thing at the same spot to me as well. I missed saving a replay, but after my second race I kept away from him. At one point he tagged me, went ahead of me, and spun on the next corner :cheers:
 
Veyron felt a lot of fun at Monza. Find it surprisingly very nimble through the 1st/2nd chicane groups and Ascari. Bit sluggish coming around Parabolica though even when breaking early. Car glides across the whole track except for that one spot. Also liked the Mustang a lot... was nice not having to shift from 7>1 since I sometimes forget how far down to go. :banghead: F-Type didn't feel as great as I last remembered when using it at Dragontail Seaside.

The F-Type got Nerfed in the last update. :(
 
I'm done for the week and I've only tried Race B , just getting punted off every time , nobody is clean in the races I've been in , the last (15 cars) I was the only one in the race without penalties.

I've gone down by 2000 points almost out of DR B not happy , will just wait until there is a more suitable track for me , all I want to do is race cleanly and close , I don't care if I don't win so long as I do my best and others are respectable on track.
 
It's a shame that race has all 3 compounds mandatory as it actually reduces strategy options

Everyone is pretty much shoehorned into the same 2 stop strategy

Everyone is just going to do a single lap on the hards and split the other 13 laps between softs and meds

Should have only made the hard tyres mandatory to open up the strategy options.

On the other hand it's good to see PD trying new stuff with daily race C so I commend that.

Depends where you start just minimise running on hard tyre. Either start on hards and pit lap one or pit lap 13 and finish on hards

Does anyone know if fuel is an issue for race C?

Not a fan of the forced pit stops, but at least that makes the strategies interesting. Hopefully it doesn't end up being a 1 make race.

Just tried race B at Monza, Monday afternoon is always manic but this was something else. High C and a few B's in the group. Most in Veyron's.
In the warm up I leave space for the car in front and get rammed, then the rammer asks for a clean race in the pre-race chat, plus lots of beginner's, apparently. :lol:
Race start 1st chicane is a traffic jam, I tap someone who is virtually at a standstill even though I broke slightly early, then Ram Bam City for the 1st lap. I'm in the Aston V8, plan was to sit back and observe driving standards or lack thereof, and I wasn't dissapointed.
The Veyron utilises an external brake system i.e the car in front ! Amazing Bugatti thought of this weight saving exercise, no discs or calipers = less weight :scared:

Up 1 spot at race end, blue SR, lots of red ones, and a couple of hundred DR.
Even pulling to one side to let the brakeless ones through resulted in them hitting my rear end, I must have had 007's stealth mode engaged :confused:
Don't think I'll be risking main account at Monza 👍
 
Had time for a few quali laps and two races at Brands Hatch in my 911. I put pretty easy a 1.22.5 as a quali, so started in front(2nd and 5th). The races were good, clean at least in my part of the race, but I had 2 trips to the sand by myself. I managed to get 4th and 5th so I had a nice 2k DR gain. I am now at 23.6k - I am gunning for that A rating :).
 
Well, good luck at Monza. I think most will need it especially with the current RNG penalty system. I was in a lobby with 6 red SR As at the end and all but 3 left with a red SR S. People blocking and weaving after serving penalties, dive bombing Veyrons, pileups at the chicanes. I was sidewiped off the track and down to last twice with no consequences for the other car. What a joke.

Speaking of blocking at Monza, what's proper protocol if someone is purposefully trying to prevent you from passing on the long final straight? To the point where you make a move halfway down the straight to the inside or outside and the driver in front keeps waving side to side.

bump and run final corner??? just make sure its last lap so no payback and dont bump the off. There is an art to the slight nudge if someone is clearly blocking. I know that might not be a popular decision but to me if the person doing the weaving/blocking was having it done to them they would to it to you..........
